Thought a short survey post was it ... but no Gave up at GZ after a concerted effort with Rouille1. Will keep sn eye on this cache to see if it ever gets found ...
First did not find...woo hoo! Turns out after my first ever two finds I'm not so good after all . Least it was in good company and with lots of laffs, thanks chRcheuse.
I mean, I found something but not sure if that is from the cache. I was all over the debris but just found duck tape
Found in the debris of the slip. The log was too jammed in to retrieve and sign so took a photo. Good hide despite the issues
Found it finally! After looking at the same thing 4 times it finally hit me. Very clever hide! Favourite point from me!
Visiting friends in Stoke for a few days and enjoyed some local caching. Enjoyed the stroll through this park. Initially missed the cache but after widening my search unsuccessfully I returned and spotted the tiny blighter. Thanks jackieandgrant for the smiley.
A bit of a grunt up the hill but the reward is fantastic views and a smiley. Deserves a favourite for both the hide and the location

15 April 2022 15:04. Dragged my unfit backside up here to be greeted with amazing views and a very clever cache. Tftc jackieandgrant, good one!
I think I was up here previously, but the rain may have driven me away.
Today was nice and sunny, so I hiked up the many zigs and zags to find this one and a few others. My GPSr was ambiguous, so I tried a different approach first which was wrong, then came at it from the right direction. Great hiding spot. TFTC.

An interesting outing with the young kids this morning to find this cache. Phone was pretty unhelpful at getting us to gz. Walked up too far, then across, and back down steep hill through grass. If it wasn't for the clue it could have taken a while. Was going to continue caching but rain clouds appeared and it was a soggy dash back to vehicle... Thanks for one and only find of the day. A clever hide though!
June wasn't good for finding caches with the frequent foul weather and today must be the first time in 6w where Saturday hasn't been raining. This one has been on my list for a while now and so today it was bound to be found and it was. What a freaking steep hike to get here! It seems the lack of caching last month hasn't been good for my fitness. I had to have a rest at the seat and was joined by another walker. A bit of trouble getting a GPS lock in places on approach but no problem finding the cache. I'm surprised its dry. Thanks jackieandgrant ... I'm liking the caches of yours that I've found so far. This deserves another favourite point for its collection.
Great hiding place. Unfortunately someone has written a huge obvious clue on it, but otherwise all good
Quick found as I noticed something written that got my attention to have a closer look, yes, there it is. Cool idea!
Thanks for a fun cache up here

After school drop off we decided it was too nice a day to be inside at the gym, so thought we’d come for a wander up the grampians instead.
Quickly found this excellent hide.

Number 4 of my early morning run loop. Only one thing at GZ so easily found. Nice hide.
Out with Missnboys on another cache adventure. not liking this hill! TFTC Clever hide
Sorry for late logging = missed this one on the App.

Another cunning hide. So clever. Favourite from me.
It’s been a hard year all round but especially hard on the holiday and caching fronts. Relieved to finally be able to take a break and do some caching for a week. Heading up country from Dunedin to Hanmer Springs, Nelson and then back via Christchurch.
This is find number 2069!

I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #624, cool one, found in 2 seconds.
Found during an afternoon walk around Nelson. This was a veeery steep walk to the cache. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Sweden.
*Arrived to New Zealand and Auckland from Stockholm, Sweden via Bangkok for a two week group travel. In Auckland we toured the city, sailed in the harbor and visited Waiheke Island. Continued with bus to Rotorua via Huntly and the interesting Waitomo Caves. Outside Rotorua we visited Wai-o-tapu, the impressive and active geothermal area, and the Tamaki Maori Village. Continued by air to Wellington with a visit to the museum Te Papa and the exhibition about Gallipoli as well as the cable car up to the Botanical Garden. The next day we went by ferry to the South Island in very nice weather accompanied by dolphins/purpoises. Via the Marlborough vine district we came to Nelson were we stayed two nights. The next day we went to Abel Tasman National Park, a lovely day trip by boat and foot. Then by bus to Hokitika via Murchinson, Punakaiki (the impressive pancake rocks) and Greymouth (beer tasting at the Monteith’s brewery). The day after it started to rain on the way to Franz Josef and it rained heavily on the walk to the Franz Josef Glacier of which we saw nothing. The leap day was spent by bus to Wanaka via Lake Matheson (with a nice walk around the lake and a view of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman), Haast and Makarora. The next day we continued to Te Anau via Cromwell, Gibbston Winery and Kawarau Bridge (with bungy jumps but not me). The next day we went to Milford Sound in the Fiordland National Park. Luckily it was opened a few days earlier after heavy rains that damaged the road, so the bus traffic was restricted with convoy driving three times a day. The boat trip in the fjord was very very nice. After that we travelled via Te Anau to Queenstown, the last stop. The day after was spent sightseeing and geocaching with a last dinner at Walter Peak High Country farm with a boat trip on Lake Dunstan with TSS Earnslaw. The next morning we started the long way back to Sweden via Auckland and Bangkok. All in all a very nice group travel to a very nice country!*

Found this one quite quickly when I put my hand on it and felt it move. Good hide.
Easy find after climbimg the monster hill to get to reserve entry. Just to realise there is stairs
Just up the hill from where I am staying. Like 100 metres! A very nice hide! Thank you.

Today we were locating a few above average caches for the Cache Carnival promotion. This was one of them. Left car in Collingwood Street and headed up the hill to GZ. Cache soon in hand and signed. Very clever hide that deserves all the favorite points accumulated.

With the current souvenir promotion we had a look to see if we had any high favourite caches that we are yet to find in the Nelson are. Turns out this is on the top of the list.
We had been out for lunch to celebrate our grand daughters seventh birthday, so we decided a walk in the afternoon to walk off lunch was in order.
We have both lived in Nelson for over 50 years and neither of us had ever been on this wee track - well this part of it anyway.
I think it was the road that lads up to the start of the track that had put me off wanting to explore, but it looks worse than it was.
We were soon zig zagging our way towards GZ, and once there the cache was in the first place I looked, love it when that happens.
Thank you for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

I am in Nelson for work tomorrow and decided I had time to nab a couple of caches while the sun shone. The cache was easier to find than the climb to get it! Walked off the delicious lunch at the Sutter. Tftc a great hide.
I walked up to the viewpoint before the main drive up the Grampians with my sister & grandmother to find a few nearby geocaches. I was glad to find this way because I could stop while I was going uphill. I saw a possible location as I arrive. without thinking much about what I was doing, I had made a very quick find here. Find #463
First time up the Grampians and today certainly wasn't a good day for views, a very clever hide and Perfect given how busy the track was. TFTC
Found with TregearP. Had no idea what to expect, but when in the GZ identified if immediately - perhaps because I've got something similar planed for later in the year. Regardless, nicely done and all in good order. Thanks jackieandgrant.
I had a little spare time in Nelson this afternoon before heading off to Abel Tasman tomorrow, so went out to do a few caches. After the short slog up to GZ it took me a couple of minutes to spot this clever hide. Grabbed a Geocoin that had been left next to the container. Another nice hide, favourite point added! TFTC!
Phew! Access to the tracks on the road must be the steepest road in NZ! Great cache. TB in. FP from me.
Our journey around NZ continues. Great cache, beautiful view and a terrible climb
Favo of course!
Logged together with Zuzzu using nickname ZZ FIN.

Fun quick find on our tour of the city. Here for a couple days to explore the area. Great view of the city on the steep walk up! Thanks for the fun cache!
Absolutely live this cache. We have been planning one similar for Sumner and were stoked to see this. Tftc
The real sarahjane20 is on fire now - straight up to this one to recover the cache! TFTC.
Over here in Nelson playing in a squash tournament... just have a wee bit of spare time before my first game. Grabbed a muggle friend for a walk and here is our 2nd find... a wee grunt of a walk up the road... not quite in the best footwear - but a QEF with not a muggle in sight.

Found after a walk not quite to the summit. It was cool when we started, but once the cloud broke it was like a different day

What a great cache to the start the morning. wasn't quite what I was expecting. Looks like I've got a climb ahead of me so tftc.
Day 2 of a successful caching weekend for Jojo and I in Nelson. Weather not the greatest but the rain held off, and today we went a little more urban than cross country so we were able to keep dry. Very impressed with the engineering and ingenuity of the caches we have encountered, and we'll be giving up a fair few of our hard earned favourite points in recognition. 46 caches collected- some very specifically for challenges, and only a few DNFs. But the main thing is we had fun . Sorry about the cut and paste and thanks to all COs.
The start of the walk up here is pretty steep, and as we approached GZ there was someone on the seat near where we wanted to be. Walked on by and made the call that if they remained we would just flag it. But on the return they were gone and a QEF was had at the most likely spot. Nice hide. TFTC jackieandgrant.

We are in for a wet day of caching, its grey and drizzling! Phew this is a steep street
Caching with rebel98, supernanny and gorby, on a long weekend of fun in Nelson. Was it zig or was it zag, but we steadily climbed to GZ, the arrow pointed us off in another direction, but we stayed true, and where rewarded with the cache and a log to sign. Thanks for the hide, I can see why it was given so many favourites.

Last day in nelson, our third caching day and we can see that our Westies team from Auckland are having to come back here at a future date to do more caching. We've hardly scratched the surface in 3 days, myself, Rebel98, rustynz and supernanny. Rebel has been doing the driving, while the others have been going up this steep, steep hill which we thought would never end! It's raining, we 3 have umbrellas and a certain amount of huffing and puffing and we're finally at GZ, supernanny spotted something 'not natural' and we had the cache in hand. VERY nicely done J&G.
Thanks jackieandgrant !
Love your work here !
Walked up the zigzag track with the Westie gang from Auckland ..... soon noticed something and had my hand on the prize !
Totally awesome work here guys !
In full view too ! Cheeky !

Our adventure started with a local event arranged by Rustynz and a group of us are collecting as many caches in the nelson area as possible starting with this one and ending who knows where and by whom
our group is the Gorbynator, Suppernanny and the Rustynz.

We passed today while on the up and up and this time we had a pen so belatedly signed the log.
We found this cache without even knowing it was there. Just demonstrating to friends a typical area of a geocache, then bang holy heck this is actually one here.
A beautiful morning for a walk. I've approached the Grampians from many different places. This one was new for me. Mainly because I was warned With the cache in hand I asked Holymu for the pen. She thought I had it Hopefully the CO will accept attached photo as proof of the find. A fav for the hide and for finally getting me up that road. Thank you jackieandgrant
It's many years since I walked up this track to the Grampians. Unfortunately when we reached the cache neither of us had the pen, each thinking the other one had it. Hazedarus took a photo of the log, pic attached to his found log.
Thank you jackieandgrant.
Thank you jackieandgrant.
Found with NZDi. With a long weekend to look forward to with the added bonus of a fantastic weather forecast, there was always going to be at least one day dedicated to geocaching. NZDi wasn't very specific about where she wanted to go so during my spare time in the evenings, I prepared four options, these being a cycle ride up the Leatham Valley which I have already cached a lot of, a walk along the link track between Wedge Point and Ngakuta Bay which I have also done most of but have a piece of unfinished business to attend to, a cycle ride along the Kowhai Cycle Track in Kaikoura which neither of us had done or try to finish off the Grampians which we started five weeks ago. The Kaikoura and Nelson trips were short-listed with the Grampians eventually getting the nod.
The trip across from Blenheim this morning was a bit slower than usual due to heavy fog from Okaramio thru to past Rai Valley but when we crested Gentle Annie, we were met with another typical Nelson Blue Sky day, I don't know how Blenheim beats nelson in the sunshine stakes because they turn the weather on for us every time.
It is getting towards the end of the day now and this was our second to last cache of the day. This was one of those that we decided to approach from the street, rather than from within the park. Boy that is a steep climb up the end of Collinwood Street, but the houses there have great views of the setting sun over the city and out to the bay.
Fortunately the zigs and the zags mad the rest of the climb to GZ a bit easier than the first part. Seeing who the CO of this cache was and having found a couple of their caches earlier in the day, we knew to look for something different, which made it a QEF.
Another clever hide from these cachers who put a bit of extra effort into their hides. A FP from me for the three of theirs today.

Being down in Nelson with our local rep today meant an early start to get to the airport to get down here, thankfully i managed to pretty much sleep all the way down here.
So after the early start and spending the day in Blenhiem it was time to get out and walk the Grampian Hills before going back to the Motel and carrying on with a few more hours of work.
The first cache on the hill proper and at this point was fairly greatful for a however short respite. Don't know if it was the Zig or Zag that was doing me in or maybe just the early start to the day. There has been some digger work on the surrounding tracks (relaying the drainage channels and smoothing out the track) so take care especially some of the corners which were a bit loose
thanks for the placement
