T-Tech and I are visiting from Brisbane, as we had a family wedding to attend yesterday. Today we have a few spare hours before heading to the airport, so decided to take a jaunt eastside through Frankston and Mornington. We stopped for lunch right near this cache, and enjoyed people watching and boat watching. After, we made an attempt on this cache. A pleasant walk brought us to the lookout, and we were able to gather the info very easily. Numbers crunched and we wandered to our GZ, but although we searched for quite a while, we didn't get the find Sad

Couldn't find it. Looked around for a while and looked at previous logs to help. This was my first multi cache and I'm upset I couldn't find it. Hopefully the next person can find it

Out and about exploring this afternoon and could resist having a go at a multi in a location like this. Coords were calculated in seconds however it took some 10mins to find the cache at a much lower height than we expected. Fantastic views even on a cloudy day. Found with Mr CDM261, TFTC.

Second attempt at this one - With the opportunity presenting itself as we came down here for a church kids outing. While the kids busied themselves with swimming, boating and cricket I snuck away to once again solve the questions (just in case I got them wrong last time), before returning to a familiar GZ. Soon enough I was scratching my head in the same way - but the previous logs kept me going and after wandering a bit further from my initial GZ and rummaging around, the cache was thankfully spotted.

Late log [19/2/2012]. Seems I found this one almost immediately after 4evatinks did. I collected the information many months ago, perhaps as long ago as September, but I was scared away by a steady stream of passersby before I could even begin to search for the cache. I had to kill some time in Mornington today, so tried my luck. All was quiet, and I quickly found it in a position I now see was consistent with 4evatinks's description here. Nice to get this unfinished business sorted. Thanks Epsilon Crucis!

Was out with Geo parents and noticed this cache close by. Searched for a bit and wasn't sure we'd find it with a few different. Then voile Geo mum spotted the cache lying on the ground. Stopped to enjoy view while muggles past. Then discovered I didn't have a pen so Geo dad went to get pen from car. Not sure where original hide was so placed as close to go I could.

New hide is at base of walkway hopefully protected from the wind. Co, if you need more info please message me. 11 February 2016 2:35 pm

Visiting morning for today only while cruising on the P and O Eden. I hopefully will get 7 caches within walking distance of the wharf. Only got six so tried this one on the way back to the ship. Worked out the coord took the short but could not find. Thanks for the view.

Geohubby was having his 3 o'clock snooze in the car. Which he truly deserved after doing the Australia Day Lighthouse. So I left him to it & went to solve this one. Some of the writing on the Obelisk is a bit difficult to read but I just about managed it. TFTC

Out for a day of geocaching, no real plans made just a casual day for once Smile The windy conditions certainly made for a chilly expedition.

Up on the hill was VERY windy. Lots of muggles taking photos of the water crashing onto the pier. After a quick calculation I walked to the GZ and it was in hand in no time.

Caching in Mornington this afternoon with kmace and this one was next. Drove down to the point and parked at the beginning of the path heading upwards to the monuments. Had a good look at the view and the monuments where the clouds were gathered and sensible looking GZ determined. Walked to GZ where the hunt started and this one took several minutes before the well hidden cache was in hand right at the coords. Thanks to Epsilon Crucis for this one.

23-Feb-15
Found this one today with Littlemerpip. We got the information easily and then I transcribed the numbers wrong into my phone. Littlemerpip eventually came up with the goods. Signed the log.

Thanks for the cache.

On a drive to build up some hours for my daughter, we wandered down and collected the required data. There were a few Muggles about, but I had a good chance to look in likely spots, but no luck. Will return one day.

28-Sep-14
Back today with the Geodaughter, hoping fresh pair of eyes would make a difference. This one's eluded me for a while - finally success - yay ! Smile Well hidden Saulman - this one's provided hours of frustration !

Finally found it after two visits, both with Geodad. TFTC! Satisfying to finally find it. Smile
The log book is completely full now.

What a great view. Plenty of fisho's out on the water today. After gathering the info and working the math, we wandered off to GZ where S began the search in between passing muggles. Didn't take too long as S soon had cache discovered and began the extraction. TNLNSL. TFTC. KemS

07-Sep-14
My partner was trying to spot dolphins (unsuccessfully however), while I determined the GZ coords. We had to wait for a few muggles to walk by before we could start the search, but we were quite happy to retrieve the tiny container after a few minutes. What an amazing spot to hide the cache!

TFTC!

Despite it not being too busy near GZ there was no find for me today. Not sure whether my calculations were off (I don't think so), or I just was looking in the wrong spot or the wrong way, but my second DNF for the day here....

12-Feb-14
Had a really thorough muggle free look and no avail. May be lost?

25-Jan-14
Quickly gathered the required information and off we went. Many Muggles around, but despite the clue & frequent interruptions we still could n't find it. Sad

19-Jan-14
This multi was the capping stone of a very enjoyable caching day on "the other" peninsula. We arrived in Sorrento in the morning, by ferry, found some excellent caches including a major milestone here, and went back to Geelong the long way, on the road. We stopped in Mornington to have fish'n'chips in the park, then wandered up to see what the place and cache are about. What a wonderful location! Next time we would definitely have our picnic here if the weather is reasonable.
The information was gathered and tasks quickly solved. As it was getting dark, there were no muggles left where we had to search for a few minutes. There was just one man nearby. He seems to live and sleep in the park; must have been in a good mood as he was singing to himself and dancing down the ramp.
Thank you Epsilon Crucis for bringing us here!
Log sheet needs to be replaced.

Find 1018 at 18:28. I was out caching solo this evening while the family were attending a nearby function. We've all been staying in Mount Martha for the week so I'm taking the opportunity to grab a few of the nearby caches. I had tried to get this one earlier in the week but was unable to find it. There were quite a few muggles around on that attempt but tonight it was pretty clear. I was able to search a bit more thoroughly and after only a couple of minutes, I had found what I was looking for.

Thanks for the cache, Epsilon Crucis!

05-Jan-14
@12:20. Out with the family and we had all the clues solved for this one from a previous trip. Despite looking all over using the hint for guidance, we were unable to locate the cache! We'll have to drop by again soon and give it another try.

01-Jan-14
We solved the final coordinates easily (hopefully:), but spent about 30mins searching in a rainy day, no muggles around, but gave up.. So difficult to find a micro, when the GPS coordinates are running around like crazy Smile

Found while in the area sailing in the Laser National Championships at McCrae Yacht Club. Great view. Log needs replacing. TFTC

Out introducing a mate to the wonderful world of geocaching. Quickly gathered the required information and off we went. I walked over the cache approaching GZ (5m away) while my mate spotted it sitting out in the open.

Hid close to structure near GZ, log pretty full. May require attention and re-hiding. Tftc Smile never knew MF only lived to 40!

Team xambo4u is out today spending a day of rest at Mornington, having just spent 2 days of solid hard work at sons newly acquired house of needing reno's. We look at it as a new area of caching to done. Feeling like the real tourist we struggled to get a park near the pier so we had quite a walk up to pick up the clues. Great view and it looked magnificent. Did the back track and Mrs X out lots of usual options before resorting to the clue.
Excellent hide and great area to bring people to. We were very lucky with the muggle traffic
Thanks saulman1010 for the cache just love hearing about the history of the area.

24-Jan-13
Oh, gee, I love this lookout! The view, particularly in the evening, is just downright incredible! I can't count the number of times I've been out with a friend, grabbed a take-away, and headed down here. Always a bit blowy though... you'd think they'd do something about that! Very Happy

Given my previous efforts for the evening (3 DNF's from 3!), I did not have high hopes for this one! But did the maths easily, and deftly dodged the dastardly muggles who were happily snapping photos in the evening heat. My GPS took me straight to GZ, and, after reading the hint, I quickly spotted the cache sitting on the ground right next to where it should be. :O Oh no! Thankfully, no damage, or signs of muggle access, so I figure it's probably just the wind... maybe? Anyway, signed log, placed back in obvious location. Container looks like the elements have got to it a bit, and no idea how much longer the o-ring will last.

Anyway, thanks for dragging me down to one of my favourite haunts! TFTC.

28-Dec-12
Bummer not to find as introducing four new friends to our outside recreation.
Great views though.

12-Dec-12
Have lost count of how many times I have looked for this one, but decided I would have another go for our 300th. Not sure why I have never thought to look there before, but was sooooo glad I did today. Thank you Saulman1010 for the agony & the ecstasy you have given me with this one. Favourite point from me.

12-Dec-12
Have had many attempts on this before and thought maybe i was blind or just stupid. Today being 12-12-12 I just had to do a cache after I finished work. With a bit of a hint from geofriend the cache was finally found, cant believe I had missed it in the past! Thanks saulman1010 for a very clever hide Big Grin

09-Oct-12
The start of another brilliant TDC (The Demolition Crew) run which saw us travel from central Melbourne all the way down to Mornington, collecting over 30 finds for the night. Some great caches and great company. We were 4 up for a while being myself, TrailRunning, Quasar3671 and Rebel Acts, some hard-hitters there to be sure... But Q had to part company early in the night, to head to Brisbane in his new Prado for family matters. My first time caching with Rebel Acts, and what a fantastic bloke, and a fantastic night had by all. Really enjoyed how the team worked all together, it was a lot of fun.

With a few DNF's on the board on this one, we weren't sure if we were going to find it, but TR looked in just that right spot, and he came up with the goods. Great stuff saulman, one on 10 multis we got for the night and a great location for GZ. TFTC.

09-Oct-12
Another Monday night comes around and I have just arrived back from a great non-caching weekend near Benalla. Blacklegend is on his way down from Tocumwal and is ready to roll on a great route planned for The Demolition Crew. As Quasar3671 is moving north to Brisbane later tonight, the crew only have a few hours together for what was to be a great night's run down to Mornington.

With Quasar3671 having to leave at about 8 pm, the third spot for the night appeared out of the blue in the form of RebelActs who was looking to do some night caching on his own before he called me and asked to join in. Absolutely I say, and he is soon on the way to Seaford to catch us there. The run started in central Melbourne with the members of TDC who hadn't collected Magnum Opus signing the log (All the members of TDC have now complete the Danozz puzzle series!).

This cache was one of the caches I signed tonight. This was an excellent hide. I had worked out GZ some time ago, so it was a matter of making my way to GZ and looking. After searching for about 5 minutes I felt something that ended up to be the hide. Thanks

18-Sep-12
Not a good one for us today. Firstly we mucked up the multi, by reading the wrong date, then we couldn't find the cache. This is the second try for me. The first was so badly muggled that I didn't even write a log. Today it was just starting to rain, so muggles weren't a problem - still couldn't find it.
Thanks, Robmc.

3:26:00 PM
We joined with BettyBoo3747, Maccamob, Pprass and Robmc for a day of caching on the eastern side of the bay.
We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out! After sorting out our maths, six pairs of eyes couldn't convince this cache to show itself today.

Thanks for the hunt anyway saulman1010 .

18-Sep-12
When we returned to the vehicles after the "SS Seafire" cache someone, who shall remain nameless, suggested we next do the "simple offset" cache nearby. With light rain falling, we gathered the numbers and headed towards GZ only to find the arrows pointing out to sea. Reviewing the cache description, we realised we'd used the wrong date for the longitude calculation. Correcting the error took us to a spot that matched the hint. However, even with six of us searching, we were unable to find the cache despite a good 25 minutes of searching high and low, and expanding our search 10m-12m either side of GZ. We'll watch how future cachers go with interest. Our thanks anyway to saulman1010.

18-Sep-12
DNF at 3:23:03 PM. It was starting to rain, so we thought a quick offset multi could be ok - but that was not to be. Love this area btw - the scenery is fantastic.
We found a couple of likely hiding spots, but we didn't discover Flinders cache.

04-Aug-12
Sunny winter morning perfect for caching at the beach

24-May-12
Spending a day over on the Peninsular with my cousins. We climbed up the hill to get the info and admire the views, before having lunch at the nearby cafe ($20 for fish'n'chips - thats £13!) - was nice though. Calculated the coords and headed back for an instant find (for me). Then tested to see if my rellies could find it - they couldn't Smile LOL. TFTC

Took a little while to find this one, fortunately it was early on a Sunday morning and no one about so I was able to search to my hearts content. I nearly gave up and was about call it quits and register a dnf, but one last look and I found it Big Grin
The views from GZ were stunning. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.

Found it on a long day of caching, Was an interesting and frustrating spot for the hide. TFTC

11-Apr-12
Well think this is about my 6 th visit here for this cache and still no luck. Will keep coming back till I find it.

11-Apr-12
Ok so after posting my dnf went to another local cache. As we were completing it I get an email. Thank you saulman1010 for the help which led us straight to the cache. Retrieval required the destruction of my entire key ring while I attempted to make a hook tool but signing the log and finally writing this log was worth it.

Thanks for the wonderful cache and the fun (and frustration) myself and family had attempting to find this.

10-Apr-12
Found it at last! Didn't get to the "Did not find stage", left that log to Debs22. It was then that saulman1010 gave us a little nudge in the right direction and as we really hadn't come prepared for caching, I got to be entertained with Debs22 creating a hook to retrieve the cache. A fun afternoon with another challenge ticked off. Thanks saulman1010 for the cache and the help.

4th attempt for this one and with a little help from a Fellow geocacher I managed to find its secret hidey hole!

Went walking with four kids, poodle and bunny but couldn't find it. Got a clue from recent cacher it's on boardwalk.

25-Feb-12
Oh my God...FOUND IT AT LAST - Saulman1010, you REALLY gave me a headache with this one - it's been my nemesis for several months! Came back tonight as part of my mini-night cache run to keep up my New Year's Resolution of a cache a day. Had already had success at a tricky and fun one up the road and thought to give this a go at 11pm.

I had my torch with me and, the most important piece of night time equipment, my 40kg Doberman...if you've ever seen resident evil you'll know what I mean - otherwise a google-image search for zombie doberman will put you on the right page - no on is going to mess with a cacher with a REAL Zombiedog with them Wink

Trotted out along the boardwalk with the torch and was blessedly alone - convinced Magnum to stand watch while I cavorted and leaped around...to absolutely no success. Given that this was my FIFTH time here, I was getting pretty despondent ... I decided to give up and go home...

Magnum tugged on his lead and insisted on walking a bit further - I decided to look in one more place - NOT where my coords were telling me and BOOM! There is was, i was so excited I just had to give the Puppy a big cuddle - he then fell backward off the boardwalk, not so delicate - I hoiked him back up (no harm done) then went about fishing out the log and signing. In the end it was hidden in exactly the way I had been expecting, I'd just been looking in the wrong place - I needed a broader search area and a keen Doberman...

Thx Saulman1010! You really gave me a good work out - a favourite point from me!

Great cache. Not sure how I failed to find this on the first few tries, but really nice spot.

Was ready to do this one a couple of weeks ago after a sailing trip but the winds were fair and the sailing too good.

Came down after finding a few nearby caches with the Tokoloshe123 team, and discovered the hide during a lull in muggle foot traffic. A simple hide, and obvious location but we still had to put in a little effort to find it.

Thanks for the Cache.

Find # 1425

It is a beautiful day, perfect to be out on the trail and geocaching, so I contacted my good mate and caching partner in crime sedgwickdave and we headed towards Frankston, Mount Eliza and Mornington areas.

Upon approach to the initial waypoint we thaught we may have difficulty gathering the info due to so many muggles being around including a wedding party. We had no issues here, but the search at GZ did take longer then anticipated, but dave found the sneaky little hide in the end.

Thanks again to saulman1010 for the hide.

04-Feb-12
Found @1536 #1171
On a cache run thru the Frankston, Mount Eliza and Mornington areas today with good mate ahomburg.

Took a bit of time to find a parking spot and the wedding happening today near by wasn't helping with this fact. Well soon a spot was found and the walk to GZ was not too far. Well the views from GZ was quite amazing with conditions flat on the water. The hunt took longer then expected for this one and only after expanding the search grid the cache was finally found. Yay!! Big Grin
TFTC saulman1010, another of yours found today.

An excellent find in a great spot! It took a little exploring, but I had a good idea of what it might be!
As expected, the two TBs couldn't stay!

Another boredom busting school holidays outing, this was our fourth cache for the day. Whilst standing at GZ and admiring the view we heard a loud noise approaching, we looked up to see the air ambulance coming in to land on Main St!
Thanks for the cache Saulman1010 Big Grin

This is a double event this evening. I finally found this one on the 4th visit. Thank you to Saulman for the tip. Again, I can't believe I didn't see this on the first three visits. My hands would have been all over it.

The second event is my 200th find.

Thank you Saulman.
