Logs

12-Feb-12
Due to limitations of NOT being able to alter the environment to make a safe placement for a geocache at this location this has been permanently ARCHIVED. But, may be brought to life on Geocaching Australia yet.

25-Aug-11
As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

What a thing to commemorate!
Its as interesting to note that we did commemorate such things in the past, as it is to go and see the memorial itself.
Thanks Grahame Cookie for a nice walk to a forgotten and hidden memorial

Every now and then, some caches need to see the light of day as they haven't been seen for months or even years. Even if it was a DNF a few times you might just get lucky.
We had a very eventful day covering a wide area in and around the Taree district great day out ..I filled this to the absolute maximum with toys for Geokids...You cant even see the memorial from the road..not to sure if to many people even know it exists...TFTC SL

Nice easy find here and a nice satisfying container. But it's one very well hidden memorial. No trains going past today while I was at the scene but I did see a freight in town later on by chance. No swaps, thanks Grahame Cookie.

22-Aug-10
Nice quick drive by one we worked out where it was! You can't really see the memorial from the road for the trees! TNLN TFTC

This cache was muggled 3 days ago!!!! Sad Luckily the muggle read the stash note (See! ALWAYS include one in your hides Smile and left a very detailed message. We may have a new convert.. which is good cause he has taken the Geocoin. Hopefully he comes to play and brings it back or logs it. Cheers from Sydney (recovered it well this time! hehe)

Finally had a chance to come and do this one! Really close to my parent's house, but keep driving past without stopping!! Nice easy find. Took TB and huge paperclip, left sheet of aussie flag stickers. TFTC

Found GZ by the clues - No luck with GPS today. Thought it may have to do with cloud cover. Got home and Geohusband told me he had been fiddling with GPS and had changed the Datum. No wonder I kept striking out. Arrgh!!!

Took Aussie Flag Geocoin and Thong Keyring.

Left Lost Keys TB, Hide a Kache Magnetic Geocoin and Bouncy Ball.

This is an example of why I love geocaching, we would never have known this was here if you hadn't placed a cache here. TNLNSL TFTC Grahame Cookie. [383]

The summary.
Today we did a push from Newcastle to Taree and back, the tally for today - 20 caches (two needing maintenance), 37 degree temperatures, a scrub tick, a bruised knee and a cut finger. Sounds like a typical day caching ...... with fun had by all.

Great easy cache to get the confidence up. Took the GC for a walk towards the beach, Added bonus for this train spotter was seeing an XPT go past while we were signing the log.

Parked at the nearby depot thingy and walked up the to the cache with geoboy and Daedalos. Cache was found easily while geoboy admired the train tracks. Plenty of aussie-themed swaps in there still. Took a sheet of stickers and left a shark. They're aussie aren't they?

Logged from my phone using the Geocache Navigator by Trimble

Found with Norkmeister. I wish the Geoboy had not chosen the Aussie Flags stickers. I now haave them all over my clothes.

WOOHOO find number 100.******Christmas Present For the next cacher here-details below ******
We went out today- Christmas Day to get the 2 caches we needed to get to the magic 100.
A great cache too- I love themed caches
We took the thongs and left a very snazzy dogs paw metal bottle opener/keyring.
Also dropped in a TB- pirate treasure and retrieved the birthday TB
To celebrate this as our 100th find we have released a new coin here.
++++++ We have left a little wrapped christmas gift for the next person- an unactivated trackable turtle TB- Merry Christmas from the GillyGang for the first to get there and retrieve it. So we will see who is watching the this site at Christmas- it doesn't matter if you have already found this cache or even is you are the owner, the first to retrieve it gets the present.
We are feeling so good I think we'll put another gift out today in one of the caches we own- so check it out on our profile.
TFTC and Merry Christmas.

I was returning home when I decided to stop and get this cache, I didn't have my gps with me but it really isn't needed. Great cache full of swaps even though I didn't swap any. Another top Cookie cache!!

18-Dec-09
Quick find with the Emongs. Well hidden cache and also hidden memorial too. Swapped a TB for a TB. Warning to anyone caching with little people... make sure they dont grab leaves or sticks from oleander and chew them as extremely toxic plant.

18-Dec-09
TFTH Took Aussie Bottle Opener Left Aussie Bear Thanks for all th egood caches in the Taree area.

13-Dec-09
Found at 3.05pm GAFF1. Why this line of oleanders is here is a bit strange - but it looks quite nice when in flower. The stone with the plaque was found right where the GPS indicated and thankfully the cache placed in a spot where it was expected to be and didn't require a huge expedition into the undergrowth.
Thanks Grahame Cookie.

Nice cache and hats off to those pioneers that got a railway to Dungog up and running in 1913. I'm thankful that finding this one was far easier than what they must have endured. TNLN today as I had loaded this one via GPRX and didn't read the spiel.
Thanks GC for another magnificent Manning cache
