Searched so thoroughly for GSELs Two Towers I uncovered this ?? My new loneliest cache at 9 years 22 days ?? Definitely worth the effort, thanks J 'N' K ??
As we no longer live in the area and it is not easy for us to maintain/replace this cache we are reluctantly gong to archive it.
So glad I made it all the way up here. Sad I have to come back another time. One of the things I like about geocaching is once you have been there done that, you don't need to go back.
As mentioned in previous logs, the immediate area is completed trashed. I looked in all sorts of places, some mentioned in previous logs, some not. No joy today.
Only one I couldn't find this afternoon. As mentioned in previous logs, the area has been pretty much trashed. I checked several likely remnants indicated by the GPS, but came up empty handed.

New track has just been bulldozed which has dropped the hint object, camo cache was in the open and stood on by Jax479, I spotted when foot was moved, cache replaced a foot of stump. Would pay for owner to check cache is still there in a few days as bulldozer still on site.

As mentioned by metal-art, hint object is pretty much destrotedt, may need relocation.
Quick find, nicely hidden and disguised. Very windy up here today, communications towers howling away like mad!! TFTC
Fantastic view!! The signal was unsteady, but the hint helped. Thanks

After finding our way up to the top via different route than we had planned this was an 'easy' find, and even on going down the 'track' back to the car the track is noticeably 'sketchy', and seemed to be something left over from possum trappers.

1920 At least I did find one cache up the hill for the walk. Nice views, but the SD card for the camera was back in the laptop! This was a much easier find than the DNF for Summit Different.
While the log sheet is well protected there does not seem to be the geocoin there that is listed.
TNLNSL, good coordinates, but unable to leave a correct site marker.
Brought through for mileage: "Mineral Mountain (CO)" Green Jeep Travel Bug, 12-12-12 Event, 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15, Coin of Danmark, CRDAVIS-Scottish Thistle Geocoin, Fishing Bell TB, GoLeo Travel Bug Dog Tag, Iconic Bridges, land rover TB, Lil' Miss TB, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, NZ Mega 2013 GCookie Coin, PAP, Raban, Red Jandal, Rienan TB, Spooky, steben6's DNF Duo - Super Cacher Geocoin, Trakabulldog geocoins, VIRGINia TAG, and trackable shirts.

Well worth the effort it took to get here.
Not so sure about the effort we expended to get down again, via a very circuitous route.

Came along the ridgeline, great views all the way. Mr TT was eyeing the green weedmat offcuts nearby, but gave them a miss in the end! TFTC
Worth the effort? For me I'm not so sure. Firebreak trips don't excite me at all, I'm very much a in the trees type of Seagnoid. Views are stunning though. Missed two caches on the way up here, and when I finally get to the top of ther world, ther's not TBs. So I dropped in a geocoin to make it worth someone elses effort . Original plan was a loop, so headed down the firebreak to te tank. Found that route thoughly clogged in with gorse, so had to turn around and come back up. Man, that is a scary steep route! My bicycle is at the bottom, below Take a break, so I returned back, rather than carry along to the Wainui hill road. Will save that for another day. Thanks for the views!
Did all the ones along the top of the ridge then got back to my car at Te Whiti Park then realised I had missed this one. Locked the car again and walked back to the top and found it pretty quickly. That will teach me for not checking I had saved all the caches on my GPS device before taking off on a trip like this. No TB in the cache.
On my first approach (struggling up the steep north-western firebreak as i had mistakenly taken a "shortcut" that put me way off track) i bumped into four muggles chatting very close to GZ. I knew i was coming back this way, so rather than hang around continued on to Aerial View II.
Doh! For the return i had to climb the equally steep firebreak on the other side. Was feeling pretty knackered while searching, and proved to be searching on the wrong side of the track. Just about to give up when i thought i'd try one last look ... and lo-and-behold ... success.

We decided to carry on to it after finding Pile on, as it was worth the little bit extra effort since we had already made most of the height gain. StreetWalker had already found the cache on a previous expedition to the Haywards Scenic Reserve, so he was able to go straight to it.
More good valley views from here.

Good to get back to this one. Looked exactly where I was looking last time and it was there! TFTC
Cache #763 - Downunder Wanderer and I had a chance to return to the area today, although did it the hard way by climbing through the gorse to get here. Coming from the Junction, we missed the right trail for Layton's Gulley, and ended up climbing through gorse until emerging at a nearby water tank. Very quick find, as the cache was back right where we looked last time (when it was missing). A stunning day to be out. TNLNSL. TFTC!
#4179. Found while exploring more of the tracks in the area. Great views from GZ and a quick find. Headed back down the firebreak towards The Junction. In places a lot of care was needed (steep and rocky, with some small stones on top). I got down to a water tank and then the track disappeared. I spent some time looking for options. In the end there were only two. One was backtracking to Worth the effort. I took the other option, and carried on down, following a blue hose that I remembered seeing at The Junction. After a considerable amount of battling through gorse, I made it through. At the bottom I met a local, and chatted to him about where I'd been. When I told him my route down he said he didn't think that route was passable any more. TFTC.
I thought i had this oen but obviously not. With hint today quick find. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Nice quick find after a brutal trip up from GC3341G - The Junction. Still worth the effort on such a nice day, and I had my bike for a quick trip home. Signed the nice new log, TFTC.
Just as the gentleman 2 days earlier, we had no luck. Easy to find the location, and the clue was very straightforward. Many minutes later, after searching everything in the area, we decided that this cache is no longer here and abandoned the search. Disappointing after the effort made to get here. Thanks for taking us to this nice location, though!
When I was planning my caching trip up to Wellington, I specifically looked for a way to grab caches to fill missing cells in my D/T grid. So I was really stoked when I discovered the three up here on the ridge! I needed all three for the grid, and they were all reasonably close to the location of my other goal (Oldest NZ cache). Needless to say, I didn't give up on this one very easily. I searched for about 40 minutes, kicked around a lot of debris that has been piling up from the rain flows, saw lots of rubbish that needs cleaning up, and got my hands pretty dirty searching various hint areas. I thought I had pretty good GPS signal as well, but, alas, in the end, I decided to move on to the next one in the series. I thought about returning on my way out to my car (Hill road car park) but was too beat to make the climb a second time. Second DNF up here (Labyrinth), and not the last. Hope this is not gone, and others have better luck! Will email a photo of the "likely" spot where I think it should be.
Great day for a walk today-so we thought we'd head for the hills and really enjoyed walking up here for the first time- and it was nice to get a rewarding pile of caches as well. Nice easy find- cache all in order. Thanks.
I came up for the "Harbour View" but decided that as it was such a nice morning that I would "Pile On" some exercise and do a few more of the caches in the area. That it was "Worth the Effort" soon became apparent ...

Might not have been worth the effort the way we came up. We took the direct route up an semi-marked track to GZ. It stared at off mawson ridge track with a sign saying 'to mawson firebreak' sounded good to us so off we went.
The first obsticle was climbing under a log across the track but quickly became the gorse, the track evidentilly isn't used much/maintained so large sections were bush bashing though gorse.
We were relieved to come out at the water tank and into the open space. Cache was quickly in hand +TB.
We followed the firebreak out which was much easier.

Checked and all safe and sound, tried to hide it a little better than it was, but it really needs some camo. Will work on this next time it gets checked. Had no problem with the alarm.
Rather interested that the alram goes off when you try to access cache, maybe you should consider moving it a bit further down towards to the view. Also it wasn't hidden well, returned as found but I would hide it prevent muggling.
Found it on beautiful day, views are rewarding! pickup up pirate booty trackable, will help it on its next leg
Worth the effort? Sure was today!
Found on an mtb ride along the ridgeline, picking up caches along the way. Fantastic views today on a brilliantly sunny day. Not a breath of wind. Classic capital weather! A quick find, then stopped to eat my lunch with the best view in town. On the way down, I was mightily impressed that it only took a few minutes to get back to the Wainui Hill road again, after the long slow slog up past this a spot a couple of hours earlier.

[426] Never has a cache been so aptly named You can't beat Wellington on a good today, and today was no exception Got a bit snap happy but that's only cos of the views...Fabulous! T4TC!
Called on on the way back from not finding On the Way! Was going to move on the Aussie coin, didn't realise it had already been picked up. But no harm done, enjoyed the view on such a lovely afternoon and dipped a couple of trackables. Took nothing but photos (to follow but probably not right away) left nothing but footprints.
Proved useful to take photos from up here as I was caching on Matiu/Somes Island yesterday and was able to get a good shot of it from here to show the owners of the trackables I left there.

The view was limited with low clouds today, still enjoyed what I could see today. Swapped GC with Travel bug TFTC
With no football this morning, a good walking workout was in order for some young lads. This was definitely "Worth the Effort". Swapped GC's. Nice easy hide. TFTC
Definitely was! A great still afternoon for it so completed this on and 'On the Way' further up. Got the old heart pumping but all good! TFTC Placed Travelcoin
Wasn't sure I was up to the challenge for this one, but wanted to give it a try if possible to get the Michigan geocoin circulating more widely. Came in from the Wainui side (logically seeing I live in the area!) and as mentioned in the description it is easier that way, with a fairly gentle slope up a shingle vehicle track most of the way, and a moderately steep and fairly short walk up at the end. View definitely worth the effort, as are some of the views on the way.. Not a place to be in a gale I suspect though! Unfortunately camera is out of action but area is worth revisiting, I didn't have time this trip to carry on further.
Cache was in plain view, description indicates that it is not supposed to be so added some cover. TFTC.
Out Michigan geocoin- placed in a new home (Bush City) later the same day.
(Tracks will be closed for mountain bike racing tomorrow morning.)

Second for the day while running along the ridge. Dropped of a GC that I'd held onto too long. TFTC
Beautiful evening up there and could see a fog beginning to roll into the harbour basin. It was definitely worth the effort.
Out for a mountainbike ride along the summit to eventually get to labyrinth track. Rode up from Summit Rd. Great views, great ride. Took geocoin with me and left an AB card. TFTC
A fantastic fine afternoon for a walk, so did a fast stomp up from the end of White's Line East to get this and the other new cache nearby. The view was certainly well worth the walk. A quick find - took CZ Globetrotter geocoin, left "Free the Cache" TB. Signed log, TFTC.
found at 7.25am ,Pulled roaming kiwis favourite mode of transport out for this one today and cycled up to find this cache before work, rode up the hill from wainui and along the ridge and after finding the cache continued along the top and down summit road and off to work this morning, this cache is placed less than ten metres from the now archived "I'll take the high road "GC15F3 which I found on December 12, 2005,nice to see another cache up at this view -geocoin TFTC
Happy Days FTF !!!!!! .Well worth the effort to get the FTF on this cache. I walked (tramped) up from the end of Whites Line East through the bush then along the fire break. A quick find at GZ then off to find ‘On the Way’. Some great views of the Hutt Valley from up here today (FTF #70). TNLN SL TFTC
2nd TF, Last cache for the day, yes definitely following boxhill around today, Found this cache quickly, but it was just worth it to come up here and admire the views of the surrounding landscape. Found cache very quickly, decided to drop of a couple of geocoins, TFTC TNLNSL (1121)
