We found the cache but just before we retrieved it to sign, the string which is very old broke of and the cache fell inside....
Needs fixing up.

Oh no had my fingers on it then it slipped and the string broke and it fell to the bottom! Sorry and thanks anyway.
Out and about in a hire boat collecting some water caches Lots of laughs, lessons learned, and stories told. I was told the first letter of each of our names was used to make the team name WADERS which is very appropriate because there was lots of that going on today!! I had such a fantastic day, thanks to team work, and great COs, thanks!
The WADERS (Selva Girls, stortigirls, NeverSayDi, E:), Mr RoddyC and EatSleepCacheRepeat) hired a boat for a day on the water. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Was here with the WADERS Team today ( W-selvagirls, A-stortigirls, D-neversaydi, E-E(:, R-roddyc and S-eatsleepcacherepeat). Hired a boat for the day. What a glorious day with wonderful company.
Been longing to put smileys in this area.
8th find of the day. Neversaydi fell in the water but managed to drop her phone into the boat a second before she lost her footing!
TFTC toucan2. I would not have dreamt of going to this place otherwise! What a fabulous day even if we hit some sand bars, some accidental swimming and mud baths.

On South Stradbroke Island for the day and ventured up this way to grab the cache. Very peaceful area. Log was very wet. Added a new piece of paper. Hello from Calgary, Canada. TFTC.
While out on the high seas for a spot of plundering (cache finding), our merry band of sailors* having finished finding the FYB series caches we stopped on Jabiru Island for lunch then continued on our quest to find loved and unloved caches on our list.
Arriving at the location of where the cache is, I wondered if this might not be found with many campers nearby but found GZ and luckily nowhere near the tents.
Looked around but couldn't see anything, checked hint again and with Team Benders, Diamonjs and others we found the cache.
With so many people standing around it looked like "rent a crowd" while we all signed the logbook and hoped none of the campers saw what we were doing.
Another find off our list.

Out on a high seas adventure with our 3 boats. I was in a group of 3 teaming up with patrol14, and then there was a boat of 4 with diamonjs, Rusty85 and Crew153 and then a 6 seater with RoddyC, Nadine1989, Termingi and vennfamily as they called the yellow sand bucket but I called it the yellow submarine.
Landed on the island. Nice camping ground.
Headed to GZ and a quick grab of the cache and sign and placed back and we are on our way.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks toucan2 All good with this cache

Almost twelve months ago we first mooted the idea of boating up to do the T5 caches on the northern Gold Coast waterways. Over the last few weeks we settled on today to ire the boat, but somehow it grew to three boats - a party of , including DiamonJS, Rusty85, Team Benders, Crew 153, Nadine1989, Temingi (from Yeppoon), Vennfamily and Patrol14. Our first port of call was Float Your Boat 7, ending up with the GCPT - Humpback Whale.
The trip down the channel to this sandy little beach was fairly rough as the afternoon southerly sea breezes were setting in. There were many campers set up on the site here, so we formed a human wall to shield the cache find and signing. There's magic in numbers!
Found at 1.20pm on 20th April 2016. TFTC.

Also this cache was on our list for the day and although there were many of muggles around, we could find the cache quickly and continue our way with the boats.
The 3 boat flotilla boats had left Cheep Cheep Thrill and headed south along the island to get to this one.
We were the second boat to arrive and I jumped out to secure the boat and found that I was sinking up to the knees in the mud in the inlet. We were a bit concerned because there were a lot of campers around the area but we quietly headed to the search area and soon had the cache located. Most of us then dispersed while the log was collectively marked so that we did not draw unwanted attention.
We then got back in the boats and headed further South to get the GCPT caches on South Stradbroke.

RoddyC extended an invite to me a couple of days ago for a spot on a hire boat to collect some T5 caches. We rocked up this morning at Southport and we were introduced to the plastic bucket, as coined by Mr Patrol14, - a large, yellow, plastic thing with a 6hp motor which was to be our transportation for the day.
After completing the Float Your Boat series and stopping for lunch at Jabiru Island, we began the trip back, stopping at a few places on South Straddie.
When we arrived at this cache, the place was swarming with campers, boats and tents and I wasn't sure that we were going to be able to search. But when I arrived at GZ, just behind a tent, the cache had already been found.

Gotcha !!! An invitation from RoddyC to join a crew of pirates on a raid of treasures hidden around the Gold Coast waterways was very welcome. Hopped out of the hammock before 5 bells and set sail for Crew153's anchorage to stow away for the land trip south to pick up " The Yellow Pearl " or should that be Peril ? , our Pirate Ship for the day. Think she needed careening as we were the slowest boat in the fleet of three. Still Captain Blair or should that be Bligh did a sterling job of navigating the Good ?? Ship through the treacherous shoals and sandbars to the hidden treasures we were seeking. Didn't find any treasure but we left our marks " X " in each of the Treasure chests we found.
Thanks to Capt. Herbz, Capt. Terror and the other pirates that hid the treasure chests we searched for.
The day was an eye opener for me .Thanks to all involved.

TFTC great hide no one around today but gee on a summer weekend this would be Muggle central. log is wet so couldn't sign. Beautiful GC day for a kayak on the Broadwater.
Found with gulliverstravel54 and cantcachus2014 this is a unloved found while we were out on a boating adventure. finding 22 caches today this one was our list one to clear out some green icons and 2 for its unloved date. sighed log tftc
Find #3549 Today we had aquired a vessel with which to collect some T5 caches and our team Of Gt54, Forbiddenground and Cantcacheous 2014 set of early this was the one of many TFTC
Unloved Cache Find - Went out today with Gullivers Travels54 & Forbiddenground to finally clear off these caches and turn them into smiles. Some were easy to get to, others were a bit tougher. We all hade a great day and adventure. Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches. Tftc
After Gunnie69 went a little askew with the navigation around some rocks, we made it to shore and I spotted the cache right where the GPSr was pointing.
Found on a day of hi jinx on the high seas, aka the Broadwater. Geo Cruise 2, organised by HotWheelsDuo, I joined Gunnie69, russelz, swellerfungus, LadySims, karenhippo, bristracker, lost 2 found and K8'n'Co. Thanks toucan2 for the cache!

The two vessels set off as part of Geo Cruise II embarking for foreign lands and a voyage of discovery. Little did we know we were actually boarding the slow boat to China.
A good day was had by all on the water, in the water, on land, through the forests and even venturing out to the ocean front (on foot).

Having reached furthest North point of our journey we turned South and started to collect our targeted bounty of caches for the day. After the long haul from Southport it was now a joy to be making short stops. Thanks
Part of Geocruise #2.
The yellow boat decided to go to the recommended pontoon for this one.
I will have to look into camping sites here.
Thanks for the hide toucan2.

Today I was out with the Geo cruise #2 on a very hot day picking up a bunch of caches on islands. This was our second cache, and almost a drive by for us. We pulled up at GZ but the other boat went around to the jetty. Cache found and signed quickly. TFTC
The second Geo-Cruise headed off early...very early...this morning and this one was on our list. What a nice secluded place to camp with a very convenient jetty. With so many eyes it was a quick find, great cache!
After putting down the west side of the island from the other nearby toucan2 cache, the twin Polycraft approached GZ from slightly different angles. Just as well as I managed to hit rock with the prop on the way in...
All safely ashore, aside from the slight hiccup, we pulled up within 10m of GZ and Ghostgums was all over the cache location... I won't point out that he missed it on first glance (oops, too late) but after ruling out another couple of spots, he returned to retrieve the cache...
Business done and crew back on board, we maintained our southbound heading for a few more on South Straddie.
Cheers toucan2.

As part of Geo Cruise number 2 today we visited caches on South Stradbroke Island, Wavebreak Island, and a Torror-ble Island. Lots of fun and geo chatter made the day a pleasant (but very hot) one.
Back to the boats and we putter along in the 'little tinnie that could'. As we approached the shore we crunched over some rocks that gave the skipper quite a fright. No damage so all good to find the cache. After signing we replaced it so that the 'slower' boat had a chance at finding it too!
Thanks again toucan2

The storm that was threatening earlier then moved on, was now looking menacing again....but we thought now that we're this close, just one more cache! So we motored on up the waterway, the quietest we've ever seen it. A safely hidden cache for this location that was easy to grab without drawing attention. This looked a great place to camp but you wouldn't want to forget the aeroguard. TFTC toucan2.
So close to this one while camping but never thought to check for a cache while I was there
These water caches have been sitting at the top of our unfound caches list for so long because we couldn't get hold of any sort of water craft with a motor.
It would have been nice to think we could borrow a canoe or kayak and paddle our way around but when reality bites we are just too old and unfit to even attempt it.
I had never been out on a houseboat and Geo Wife had only been on one once quite a few years ago so we had the idea of combining a houseboat holiday with a caching adventure.
This was the last caching day of our trip and we had 100% success so far and this would have to be our last cache so we were determined to grab it too.
Geo Youngest Girl and I (Geo Dad) headed over to the shore and took the short walk to GZ.
We found the cache very quickly, safe and sound in its hidey hole.
So this rounded up a great caching experience of 16 that were now all smiling at us.
Thanks Toucan2 TFTC SL

Found while on an expedition with year 10 students from a private boys school. Had to wait till the kids were in bed. Nice easy find at a beautiful camp ground. Tftc
Paddled over from Paradise Point. A few campers around, but not to near GZ. The securing device has submitted to the elements. It broke as I was retrieving the cache. I re-attached the loose end when I replaced it, so all is good here
Easy find during a pleasant but windy day on the broadwatert. 1st find with Stuq & Jules
Sth Straddie is heaven on earth. As we approached GZ a friendly local in the form of a kangaroo hopped over to say good-ay. TFTC.
We have been meaning to do this one for quite a while but whenever we go out on the boat we tend to go further north. Quite a lot of muggles around today but fortunately another boat arrived as we neared GZ so all eyes were on the newcomers. Mr. Herbz quickly grabbed the cache during the distraction. Thanks for placing this cache in such a lovely spot. TFTC.
