Thanks for the placement and the smiley.
This was our second cache of the day, and involved a little more physical exertion than I would have liked, given how hot it is. But we got it.
Got a funny look from someone who turned his ute around just by the gate at the start. Crazy people!!!
Thanks for setting this up

Due to the MEGA postponement - DavidsonClan and I struggled to put together a weekend plan. The path of least resistance lead to a Squirrelnutcase & Fap'N'Gap adventure in Napier. My Alarm went off at 2:30am and caching started just before sunrise. We had an excellent day but due to a few DNF's - we'll be back. A big Thank You to the CO's for the virtual tour of your city.
This cache was found quickly and without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. A steep little climb but otherwise pretty straight forward. Cheers kiwiowl & TFTC

With (Mr) Davidson Clan, Gap (of Fap and Gap), and Philip.Perry. This line up was stitched together last night, just in time for our 4AM departure from Rotorua… We have planned another blitz of Napier caches. This should seriously tidy our geomap…
We were unsure about the access point, but it seemed to match the hints. This was a convenient place to make a sandwich before scaling the hillside. Thanks kiwiowl and TFTC.

bit of late planning for another attack on Napier.
squirrel nutcase and myself where going back today to see if we could collect the caches we missed on our last trip.
this time we had the pleasure of Bruce ( Davidson clan ) and Philip Perry, coming with us.
we will have to return another day as we missed a few. still a great day.
at first wondered if we had the right entry point, but after reading description we were okay to go through the gate.
glad this one was not at the top.

Long weekend plans to attend the Mega in Auckland we’re postponed due to lockdown in Auckland. We decided to do a day trip to Napier so it was an early start Philip.Perry picked me up just before 4am and we meet up with Squirrel Nutcase and Gap from Fap and Gap on the road out of Rotorua at 4am. Had a fairly mild day weather wise only a few DNF were logged the rest of the caches found mostly in good order. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining your caches.
Spent the day caching in Hawkes Bay on my way to Whanganui for some work. Was on my motorbike to easy to park up safely near GZ. Wasn’t sure what was private/public access however as there was no one around it was a quick jump the fence and up the hill. Cache all fine. Although technically winter felt more like spring today with lots of lambs, daffodils and blossom. Great day for a smiley. Thanks
On a travel group trip from Tauranga and staying at a lovely winery nearby. A rainy morning so I may as well go walking. A bit wet but have raincoat. Great to get a few more smilies in the area.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Nice short climb to retrieve this one. Like the previous finder, I too liked the story about the original cache and contents. TFTC Kiwiowl. Cheers
The remains of the original story are great. Nice detail that they are still in there
It's a quick walk up there and a quick find on e you are up. Enjoyed the view. TFTC

Nice walk up to GZ, great view of the dark clouds approaching from the rangers. Cache found and log signed in quick time. Cheers.
Climb wasnt as bad as it looked from the bottom so soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

When we arrived at the hill, we looked up to the top and thought no way. However we realised the cache wasn't too far away, so we wouldn't need to go that far. So we made the reasonably short, but very steep, climb to a quick find. TFTC
AHhhh the dreaded hill climb - we only say this because last time we attempted it Mr P tore his calf muscle in 3 places and he had to crawl on his hands and knees to the car in extreme pain. We are happy to report his ''Everest'' was conquered today ! No torn calf, took the hill a little more sedately this time, many thanks.
Husband was the one to experience the calf-burn today. Lovely views from up there. TFTC!
Kids loved the climb for this one! Sheep were very interested watching what they were doing. Great view too.
The sheep were watching us! I liked looking at the view when we got to the cache.
Spent the morning/afternoon out and about clearing up the last of the HB caches we didn't have smiley faces on. Was a nice gentle stroll up to GZ wasn't as big a hill as we first thought. Didn't take long to get our hands on the cache and sign the log. Cool to see the old log still in the cache. Awesome views from up here. TFTC
We did this goat style to the cache. Beautiful views of a gorgeous part of Hawkes Bay. For the first time ever I think coming down was harder than going up. TFTC
What a beautiful spot. We had lots of fun running up the hill like goats. Would have been good to have a piece or cardboard to slide back down on. Tftc.
Added a favourite point as we had so much fun doing some of your caches in this area today and this was the most fun for my daughter and I. Plus the view is stunning. Thanks KiwiOwl.
I found this cache with my Mum (sunnybunny64) earlier in the year but have only just got my own geocaching account. I’m hoping you won’t mind me back dating this find so that I can log all the ones I have actually found in my own account. Jordis – 7yrs
I parked opposite to the roadside gate and after waiting for a farmer to do his thing I scrambled straight up the hill for a quick find. As I was signing the log I noticed a car slowing down and stopping near my car. I wonder two things.....why did they take an interest in my parked car on the side of the road (there was no illegal or out of the ordinary parking) and I wonder if they knew I was watching them from the Sacred Hill. I guess I'll never know.
Cool views from GZ. TFTC

What a hill, do not know which was worst going up or coming down. If anyone finds my silver ball point keep it with my blessing as an extra reward for climbing the Sacred Hill. The domain at Puketapu provided us with extra bounty - a walnut tree dropping it fruit - lucky us. TFTC
Saw the cache come up on the GPS as being a "Few" meters from the road so stopped to have a nosy. Saw the hill and thought oh well and scrambled up. Nice view and the road and car looked so far away. Quick find and sign and a few photos and very quickly back down to continue the hunt. TFTC
Too steep for the wee man so I climbed up to retrieve. it meant i had to come down to show him and then climb again to replace...but such a nice day it was worth it! Tftc
Quite a climb. Some new lambs were born today . Their mums were't too impressed with me. Tftc
Scrambled up hill but not with the alacrity I had in my earlier years. TFTC

TFTC. I had initial concerns about accessing where the GPS was indicating, but after rereading the cache description opened the gate and headed in. A lovely climb up hill which was rewarded with a great vista and very interesting rock formation and shell fossils to remind me where this land was in the past.
Thanks kiwiowi for bring me here and thanks to the farmer for allowing us access.

#3679. Quick climb. Excellent views. Unfortunately, Tiki with Ingot was not in the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found driving out from an orienteering event, yet another hill to climb on a very hot afternoon. Looking for a geocache this time, not an orienteering control! Coordinates were spot on, thanks.
A Quick trip over to the Bay while Mrs Dragon was at work today to see what I could possibly find before heading back tonight.
has made for a long but memorable day, nice spot up here and quickly found, Landed on my RSE on way down thanks to the wet grass

I scrambled too high and spent quite some time searching in the nearby trees. I have the thorn scratches to prove it. The sunny day and wonderful views made up for my error. Beautiful spot. Thanks
Took a deviation via the top - to look at the view? No, didn't get the info right ! Great view.. Very very hot today. Old fellow looking good for his age.
Ventured into sheep country to find it, but the views from up there is worth the while. Took a few pictures from there. TFTC
A quick walk up the hill from directly below and an almost instant find. Nice area, haven't been here for many years Interesting rock formation. Signed log, TFTC
Found ok. Had a local shout up at us for being up on the hill. Was quite funny having someone scream "BE QUIET. THE ARE SHEEP SLEEPING". I wasn't sure how respond .
Hmmm... 70m here straight up the hill. What about further on? No path ok, what the heck. Walked 300m up and along the hill (realised it wasn't at the top before I got there, luckily). Nice hide, though.
Beautiful views from this hill! It's great that we can finally explore even private lands, since ALL lands in NZ are private…
thanks for the cache!
thanks for the cache!
Found cache OK but log book was lying on the ground some yards away, saturated and unusable. Left a note in the box, admired the view and left. TFTC
A quick find, TFTC

This one was fairly close to where we were staying, so couldn't resist a couple of last caches for the day. A quick dash up the hill and there it was. Nice area. TFTC
I was going past so it seemed silly not to stop and find this one. A quick scramble up to GZ. TFTC
TFTC Good to have a decent work out made even more so when we were well to the right of the cache. Demon saw where cache should be and Angel spied the hide. What a slippery meander... lol... was worried my not quite so co-ordinated 8yr old spawn was gonna find his way to the bottom in a hurry. TNLNSL. Had intentions to leave something but unfortunately in our rush had left it in the car... at the bottom of that hill. Tried conning the young one to reclimb but nup stubborness, but understandable. A lot of fun thanks!
2849 Nice quick find, although gumboots required for the long grass trek. Took CD (after listening to it, we shouldve left it - on to the next cache!) TFTC
easy find a little bit of a climb. a good veiw on the way home. nice spot for a cach.
I am glad the cache was not on top of the hill.Even with the sheep tracks it a hard climb. Thanks for cache.
Found it ok, good workout for the legs, nice view. Took fireman knome, left a bell. TFTC
Great view easy find

Found with angelic_kiwi and Melt'd on a very wet and cold day. A bit of a climb but a lovely view from the cache. Would be nice spend a bit of time here on a nice day. TFTC
Are there Unicorn TB http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=2417923 or is it lost? It's in black satchel together with laminated card. Look at photos: http://img.geocaching.com/track/58d200a7-a569-4304-b416-a1d744c12df0.jpg
TFTC - the travel bug we were after seemed to have moved on unfortunately.
Nice spot. Thanks!
