This one has been flooded twice. It's obviously not a good location for a cache.
Oh boy was it wet! will have to be a completely new cache, waterproofed this time!
Better put this one off-line until I can get out and replace. Seems this spot goes under water a lot this year - all that wonderful rain we've had.
This was our last of 16 finds for the day
Cache contents and log saturated tried to dry out but not very successful
Needs replacing

Was driving back to Surfers and saw this one pop on the Nuvi. Quickly pulled over to get the cache. A bit wet around GZ but cache fine. TFTC
Young GeoGirl (3Yo) found this one today. She is getting good at spotting them. The wetlands adjacent to the cache were very interesting, a well thought out storm water device. Nice spot. TFTC
This was cache # 17 of 24 for the day, on a great day out caching around the Gold Coast. A nice area to visit and a nice quick grab on this one and a quick dash back to the car as the sky opened up again. My thanks to bristracker for the cache.
Riding our bicycles around Emerald Lakes is always a
great pleasure. Our eyes spotted the hiding place almost
immediately and we had cache shortly after.

I was just on the wrong side of the busy road to do this one yesterday morning so I finished this one off this afternoon.
A pretty and well manicured bit of parkland.
Thanks Bristracker.

Got chatting to a guy fishing for eels. Aparently there are some huge ones in here. Mrs Herbz found it before I even got there with the GPSr...smartipants she is! TFTC
After carrying an umberella all around the Casuarina circuit in Nerang today, decided not to carry it to this quick grab and sign.
Then, just after signing the log, the heavens open up
Ms Wig and I running in the rain, back to the car, then Ms Wig calls out "BIKE!".. and I turn and say "What bike?"
WHOOOOOOSHSHHHHHH!!
"Oh, that bike"
Thanks BT for a quick sign and go... just we weren't quick enough
Took TB, left TB.

This was a quick drive by but we weren't fast enough, just a couple of spots of rain then a few more then down it came decided to call it a day after this one TFTC BT
I decided to take a detour on the way home from work and track this one down.
TFTC Bristracker.
The container was chockers with various item and I found a nearby rock to sit on and try and fit the new items as well as the old items back in to the cache.
I left a Bertie Beetle Travel Bug, Star Wars Tazo and smiley face lanyard. I grabbed the Bling Mini TB, film canister and a lanyard. With a bit of encouragement and re-arranging the lid made it back on the cache.

Cache nice and chock full of swaps but managed to find room for "Arwen's Bling Bling Mini Cooper" TB which is trying to get back to South Africa in time for the World Cup next month. TFTC
It made for a nice distraction and family walk on the way home from a trip to 'granny and grandads' at Broadbeach! Thanks. Also, our 2 Geosons (5 and 6yo) are really getting into it and want to place a cache.... So also took FTF Craze Comic #1 Geocoin - we will put that in our first cache for someone to find and reuse. Left $ignature keyring, took mini torch.
TFTC!

This one is up and running again, full of toys for geocachers. There's also a geocoin for the next lucky finder. Please note that because of the washout from earlier floods this year I needed 2 small rocks to hide this one. So please be sure to cover it well before you leave.
Have to dry this one out and re-stock with new toys. Recent heavy rains on Gold Coast have poured a lot of water into the cache area. Once the floodwaters recede I'll see about placing it in a suitable hidey-hole. See gallery photos for water views.
Water, water everywhere but thankfully not at GZ so cache was nice and dry. A beautiful spot to visit. Thanks bristracker.
I thought this was an attractive area and clearly doing the job it was designed to do - we could see the 'regular' grass under a foot of water, and seeing the docks of the houses opposite practically submerged made for an unusual view. Lots of ants on and around the cache, maybe driven there by the water? Took the Edward and Bella TB as it wants to go to the Sunshine Coast. Plenty of muggles around, mostly dog-walkers and joggers, but the cache is very well positioned and we felt quite safe retrieving it. TFTC! ='.'=
I had to wait in the Geomobile for half an hour while it was pouring rain before I made a dash for it between down pours, Didn't see the G/C but I didn't really look to hard either because it was starting to pour again.
2TF what a surprise. The council have done great work on this new walkway.
Left Coin and took nano cache.
Thanks

Woo Hoo!! FTF!! Got home this evening, talked to the family, did a few things, then wandered in to check my emails. About 8:30 noticed an email notifying a new published cache. Geohubby sick and going to bed so couldn't come. Dark, so didn't want to go alone. Roused geoson (adult) who agreed to come with me. Got there and realized we had left the torch at home. Darn!! Had to search by phone light - a bit difficult! When we found the cache at 8:45pm it was chockers with good swag for geocachers and even had a tiny mini torch in it. Great Stuff! Even had batteries, so we were able to sign the log with the torch. Therefore, Took: mini torch, Left: geocaching.com wristband in theme with the cache. Thanks Bristracker for a great cache. So glad we were the FTF!!
