WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 12 - Port Lincoln to Elliston via several small roadside spots. After my travels down the east side of the Eyre Peninsula showed me more and bigger towns than I expected, on todays travels up the west side of the peninsula, there were a few settlements, but they were all very small and it is much windier on this side. Elliston where I stayed the night at the golf course RV park, was smaller than any of the other regional council towns I have visited, but they did have a nice pug where I had dinner. The days caching was pretty much all roadside caching until the end with some of the Elliston caches being out on coastal cliffs and the jetty. Things are getting more outback every day now.Today was mostly roadside stops where I squeezed the van onto the edge of the road or a parking bay and walked the remaining distance to the cache. Found with no issues today. Thanks for the cache wheres_wolly_sharon46682.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Blarney A#95**Albida**
On a day drive to Coffin Bay. Seen lot's of videos of the area. Good to be here in real life. Highlight of the day was seeing 4 emus walking around the main Street in town.
Out doing my two favourite things with geodog Tonka. Driving and caching This one had spider webs all over it. Went back to the car to get my rubbish stick to knock it out Coordinate Accuracy: goodCache Condition: excellent Took: nothing Left: nothing TFTC

Heading out with ILT to cache north of Coffin Bay. Beautiful morning for a quick find. Thanks where’s wolly
Out exploring the trail and sights. Finally in Port Lincoln with time ahead to do a day trip to the lovely Coffin Bay - should be here longer! Now I've finally lost track of time in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and a few in between caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.
Thank you for this cache, we met some lovely cachers from Victoria at the same time noelle and jimmytherat ️
Found with Jimmytherat on silo road trip from Melbourne. Had the pleasure of bumping into Big D & Lilmissherbs. Thanks for the placement. On our way to Port Lincoln.
Was curious to see where this disappeared to as only did maintenance 2 months ago!
Was definitely missing on arrival, but after a search found it on the ground, severely out of shape!
Replaced with new container in original position ready for next finder.
Happy caching and safe travels!

Staying at North Shields cp. Heading to Coffin Bay for lunch & picking up a few caches. Just all log books relatively new & in good condition. Tftc
One good thing that has come out of the Covid situation, is the need to holiday in your home state. With a week or so to spend away, we decided to head to Port Lincoln - a place we had not visited before. Our second day in the area was spent exploring the Coffin Bay area, and what better way to find all the interesting spots, than to find the caches which had been hidden.
No problems with this one. TFTC

Just doing a caching run today with ilook4geo starting at Coulta and heading south to Coffin Bay area. We had an enjoyable time and found quite a varied range of containers and hides. Thanks go to wheres wolly for placing this cache and adding to the caches that are available to be found around this area.
Found plenty of caches today with goingplaces2 and had a fun day. Each log was signed and each cache was replaced as found. Job done! Thanks for placing this cache.
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Venus Bay my next destination is Coffin Bay NP which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
The weather has deteriorated again and it was not a pleasant drive towing the van to this one.
Donned the rain jacket and went off in search of this one.
As the sign said it was time to switch directions and turn off the Hwy and head towards Coffin Bay NP.
I’m hoping for when I set up camp the weather improves but at least I’m in a van and not having to set up canvas.
I was able to reach this one and I soon added my name to the log and I was on my way.
Thanks wheres wolly TFTC.

This is our official 100th find. Quite fitting that the sign has "B100" on it!
This find was our official 100th cache!!! Fitting that the highway number was "B100"!!
A 2 week tour of the West Coast started in Streaky Bay, then to Coffin Bay, then to Tumby Bay and finally a couple of days in Whyalla.
All caches were in good condition unless I've posted a Needs Maintenance log.
Found on an early morning cache run while others were wisely asleep.

On my Elliston-Pt Lincoln leg of my round Eyre Peninsula caching odyssey. A quick find. Thanks wheres wolly.
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today, our plan was to head to the west side of Eyre Peninsula to Coffin Bay, and have lunch there. We enjoyed kilpatrick oysters (hopefully fresh?), before making our way north through Mount Dutton Bay, Farm Beach, and Coulta, and calling into Greenly Bay. We then looped back east through Koppio and Whites Flat, stopping off for a steep hike to North Block also. An enjoyable day to be out and about, with highlights being the coastal towns and views, and hills hike.
No issues with this cache, as it was found in the most likely location. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today Davidwazza and I continued on our trip of caching out port Lincoln to the best we could, today we made our way from North Shields in and around coffin bay and the back roads. All up just over 50 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

TFTC BREKER a good afternoon spent caching when it was lousy weather to enjoy anything else. Managed to stay dry between showers. Getting to know my local area..... where I grew up.
On a road trip around Eyre Peninsular with 2N's. Found many and varied caches along the way. Thanks to all the CO's for the placements.
Found while participating in the 2019 BikeSA Annual Tour. I started this search at the wrong set of signs, got there in the end.
Thanks for the cache wheres wolly.

The taller member of the time went to look for this cache and with an obvious hide location, was able to make a quick find. Apart from the lid of the container becoming detached, the cache and contents were in reasonable condition. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache.
Mr Tardis was having a caching day around Pt Lincoln today. I found the cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache wheres wolly.

I was down in Pt Lincoln with Laighside Legends for the long weekend and our plan was to head out and cache our way towards Coffin Bay and the surrounding area. It was a warm and pleasant day to be out and all caches that were found were in reasonably good condition. As it got close to the midday event we bumped into Mr Tardis and one of the nearby caches. The nearby event was an enjoyable affair, joined my Aussie M&M, Mogni and Mr Tardis, food was eaten and stories were swapped. At the close of the event, we continued to cache around the area before finally heading back to Lincoln for an evening event. It was an enjoyable evening at the pub to end the days caching before heading back to our accommodation in preparation for our next days caching.

Exploring the country side around Port Lincoln as part of our 4 day visit to the city. Lots of interesting roads to travel, views to see and caches to find. Thanks to the COs who have placed them for our enjoyment.
Found where it was meant to be. Thanks wheres wolly for placing so many caches on this stretch of road for us to enjoy and to break a very pleasant journey.
Nope. Nothing to be found here.
No bent signs so guessing it's been cleaned up and moved on.
Thanks for the challenge wheres wolly
will place on the watch list and return asap!

This was found on the ground as someone has hit the hiding place and bent the tin as well as dislodging it from it's hiding spot. Log is also damp as the container cannot seal due to container being bent.
Waited in car while I sent the hubby for this one. Still raining. Has been all day. We certainly picked a great day for caching!!
Found while stay in in the Port Lincoln area for a while and Today I took a drive up to Coffin Bay to take in the sights and caches. A quick drive by here. TFTC.
