In Karori area again today, visiting a colleague who is WFH after an operation. After my visit, it was conveniently lunchtime, so off I headed in search of the nearest cache which was this one.It did take a little while to find, as there are lots of places to look. There were so many thick cobwebs, they looked staged, like a Halloween set . Not too many spiders though! Not sure why this one has lain so long lonely, as it's a short walk down a wide path that is beautifully overgrown and overhung with vegetation and is not difficult to get to.Amazing that it was the main road to Karori for some time. It would have been a lovely journey by horse and cart considering how bucolic it is now!The cache was in good order, signed and returned to its spot. TFTC! Decided to go around and grab some caches after dinner! Parked down near the BMX, Skate & Dog Park, then walked down to the lower area but realised we were in the wrong spot so we went up to the top path and soon enough, we saw something out of place, and there it was! Covered in cobwebs though! We also earned out 75 cache milestone on this one, Thanks Boxhill! Duck Caches - #75
Geocaching on a wet and windy election day. Spiders still evident. Cache nice and dry. TfTC
While the GPS was back to normal function after finding Yikes, I was glad to know it was the coordinates that were being funky instead. Narrowed down the location enough that only a little bit of mud got on my hand in my pursuit of a find. A bit nippy in the valley this time of year but that did keep the muggles away. TFTC
Never knew this path existed, so thanks for bringing us here. It was rather wet, but the cache hide is remarkable dry. Looks like it hasn’t been found in a while, because it was wrapped in tight spiderwebs TFTC
Well ... this has been an adventure. Came along here in the pitch black after a long, long search and DNF at a Northland cache ... wanting to keep our daily streak going if we can (Day #63). Google directed us onto Paisley Terrace which is an adventure in itself....eek. (Don't go that way - lol!) Then walking down the path and noticing all the fabulous glow worms. Just before we braved the wilds to go looking, we got a notification that a virtual cache one of us did today had been okayed by the CO. Yay!! Guess who decided to keep this search for another day ... and hopefully daylight!
Glad I had the chance to come back and find this. This is always a lovely walk. Gps was spot on and no other areas really fit the hint. Evidence of some webs amongst the cache, so I'm glad ai brought gloves this time. Heads up while you're searching - that was the biggest spider I've ever seen in NZ. Both mortified and fascinated.
I’ve lived close to this road without knowing it existed so thank you. Was very worried re spiders but saw none. Heart was beating though! TFTC
On this auspicious day, we gathered 2 caches to line up with date. Thus was the first of 2. Tftc
Tricky access but easy find. Cache nice and dry. First of 2 caches found on 22/2/22. TFTC
A fairly prompt find which is always nice after having a long, fruitless hunt beforehand (The magician has alluded me)
Thanks for this- love how I’m learning so much Wellington history!

Stopped to have a quick look for this one several times during my morning jogs. Today was my lucky day! Even had a pen on me which was not needed as there was pencil in the container. Cache is all safe and dry after the recent downpour. TFTC!
A nice wee stroll up this piece of Wellington history, and cache was quickly located in the obvious spot, despite the GPS not really agreeing with me. Cache was safe and dry, TFTC.
Found with 10YO. GPS was not much use once we were near GZ. So we used our spider senses and soon had the cache. Plenty of 8 legged friends here today. Left a small treasure for future finders. TFTC
Great day for caching with the light rain as the path was deserted but very sheltered.
Spent at least 30 minutes looking but the only places that stood out as related to hints or previous comments yielded no results. Not sure if it's overgrown or the remnants of old slips that have deceived me. Got to the point of trying to line up the GZ with the houses across the way!
Will definitely return, probably with a second set of eyes. Consolation prize was watching a kākā trying to crack open a nut and hop along the path in front of me.

Crumbs my phone co-ords just wouldn't settle, and were way off in some places (hmph)! So followed hint and looked for evidence of spiders (mentioned in previous logs). After a very small clamber up a slope, had the cobweb covered cache in hand! Log signed - all dry and tucked away. TFTC
No spiders in evidence today. They must all be working from home! Short search along the path, found as per clue. All in good order. Tftc!
tftc. not recommended for mildly arachnophobic. Guardians are definitely vigilant in this spot. tftc
The one thing I hate most in this world is spiders and the spiders were definitely going their due diligence as guardians of this cache. I would recommend poking around with your pen before you put your hands anywhere near this hidey hole. TFTC!
Out and about caching again with Talla64. Our GPS's were wandering a bit around here but Talla had spotted a likely spot as we walked slowly past. I scrambled up and sure enough he was right. Geo-sense was working better than the GPS. Thanks for bringing us along this interesting bit of history and TFTC boxhill.
Out and about with Flowerydaze around Karori and Brooklyn. This one had the GPS all over the place but fortunately a likely spot came into view and FD was quick to investigate and was soon rewarded with the treasure. Quite interesting history with this small walk along a small thread of it. TFTC
Needed a cache today to deal to a dot day. This was it. Actually this was one of two, as I found another one a few minutes later a short driving distance away. Stopped once the coords indicated I was near GZ and had a bit of a scout around. Didn’t take long to spot what appeared to be a likely hiding spot. And sure enough it was! #2862. TFTC.
Didn't know about this old road, would've been pretty narrow even by Wellington standards. TFTC
I keep "noticing" these boxhill caches I haven't found yet and I have no idea why I hadn't been here yet. I don't do a lot of caching in Wellington but caches like this on walkways would normally be on my radar (as opposed to the many on-street caches which don't interest me). Despite the entire carpark at the southern end being marked "staff" this is clearly a weekday operation so I had no qualms about parking there in the weekend. After a shorter than expected walk I was suddenly at GZ. Or, more accurately about 20m past it as my GPS later decided.Once I went back to the real GZ there was a moderately obvious hiding place and therein was the cache. After so many devious boxhill hides it's easy to forget that some of the older ones (this is just about 10 years old) can be routinely normal! I would have been unlikely to come here without geocaching so thanks for bringing me here.
Finally got back into geocaching and this was my first to retry. Found it and now I'm addicted again
GPS slightly off. Out geocaching with geeves90. Easy find once we narrowed it down
GPS was all over the place here. Used the hint instead to make a quick find. Nice hiding spot. Thanks for placing a cache here. Cheers
The Seagnoid and I had a maintenance dash to Palmerston North Saturday. Today its exploring Zealandia, then on the ferry back to Picton, but until then a few local caches.
I've got Nigel Navigator for this one and end up going straight past it. So its a u-turn and quick snag and tag here. Path very slippery today. Cheers

Coordinates show it on the other side of the path, otherwise all good. Tftc.
Spotted this one pretty quickly despite the dodgy gps reception tftc!
I ran up here during my lunch break today. The return trip was about 7.5kms. All up including the searching I was back at the office within an hour.
The wonderful streak of good weather continues... but it is really hot when you're running. Especially the uphill bits.
The cache was exactly where I imagined it would be from the map. I didn't even bother to get my phone out to check if I was in the right spot.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

After failing to find other caches I thought that this one would be easy. Ha ha as GPS was taking me the wrong way according to the hint. Went round the back and was about to give up when spotted it on the way back. Cache in good shape being nice and dry. TFTC
#394. After a DNF 10 months ago, it was back for another look. Still pretty wet underfoot, and a fallen tree to negotiate this time, but despite the GPS bouncing around, the cache was easily located. All good. Tftc boxhill, the 1st of my 4 of yours I found today.
There obviously has been a lot of rain as part of the track/road was waterlogged. There has been a slip off the hillside and across the road almost blocking it . The cache is close to the slide but despite looking a little threatening above is still intact. It may not last much longer.
Enjoyed the road reclaimed from cars. Quick find at the obvious place. Thanks boxhill, you're running at almost 9% of my finds
Second time looking for this, and this time - success!
GPS on phone a bit lost.
Thanks

#2775 A Quick find during a short diversion in the way home.
As CO indicated, coords a little waving in near GZ, when nearby I initially went past and then saw a likely spot based on description in my way back downhill. The spot that looked like the sort of place I'd place a cache is where it is
Thanks for another boxhill smilie

It was pretty wet and I didn't feel like scrabbling along the bank, especially as the GPS kept bouncing around. I will be back when things dry out a bit.
All quiet off the roads today in Karori. I spotted the geopile from 10m away so this was a quick retrieve. The next finder should check vegas77's log.
phone GPS all over the place here. Selesi & I anyway tried searching based on the hint and found fairly quickly. TFTC
Out with UlmusLynx for the day. Too early for phone and gps to wake up to the job but found in most logical place based on hint TFTC
A quick find on my way to Johnsonville. It's nicely hidden, but I wish I was a bit taller.
Tried to find this one awhile ago with no luck, returnef today and it was a quick easy find by Mama Bear. Tftc
Quick, easy park & grab to start me off for the day. Cache nice and dry. SL. TFTC
After failing at the Night Terror's cache, I was determined to not make this evening a waste so headed down the path to try this one again after I was previously thwarted. No such problems this time. TFTC
Nice quick find today, as part of a challenge - we were halfway to Wellington, so selected a cache still needing to be found. Bonus after failing miserably to find this one back in August.

Well I think I've made more visits to the GZ than for any other cache. Saw the log traffic last week but was out of town so a priority was to renew the search before any further works in the area or potential losses.
A relatively quick find after broadening the search area - didn't pay enough attention to the note about a different location. Certainly had searched this location thoroughly on previous attempts.
Great to see the same cache container as previously uploaded, and the log with all the recent finds.
TFTC, and great to have it off my WIP list

Glad to see this one is back in action. I'm impressed that pattismith found the original one! I've never seen this walkway before so it is always cool to see somewhere new. TFTC.
Saw the logs below and happened to be passing so thought I would stop and see if the container I found in June is still there. Yep - was covered by dirt/debris though. Left it on the ground, with a rock on the top.
Certainly appears to be AWOL. I have placed another container in a new spot. The GPS signal is pretty flaky here, the original ones are about as good as you'll get.
DNF-ed with Dr Bogan . Spent way to long on this. Unconvinced about the recent "found" log - but it may be real. We had no luck. Looked like either recent council clearing or water damage all around.
May pay for CO to check at some point.

Great location, enjoyed exploring it. Coordinates were accurate for me, but the cache was well hidden. Got my hands on it eventually! TFTC
I was going past this way while going for a jog. Didn't seem to have much luck. It is a nice walkway though!
Looked for this last week with no luck, so went back this morning with TregearP who logged it in November.
Nothing found - looks as if there has been some general maintenance and material cleared over the bank. TregearP pretty sure where she found it last time which reconciled with the coords but nothing there now.
Possibly muggled?

This one took bit of searching! GPS was all over the place! But we got there thanks for the cache
Second time looking for this one and still took ages to find! Searched all over the place and even overlooked the cache about 3 times before LCBuilder finally came up with! Very well hidden, TFTC
