#16061 - 11:41:00 AM; Day 29 of the great USA and Canada Road Trip with Sol de lune. The highlights so far include: Road trip from Minneapolis through to Washington DC, including trip to Power Island for GC35; Attending at Geowoodstock XVIII in Abbotsford BC our first Giga!; Attending the Geocaching 20th Anniversary Celebration in Seattle WA; Completed our Jasmer challenge with a find on GCD; Logged a find on an APE cache; and A visit to Geocaching Headquarters, our final bucket list cache.Another more relaxed day today as we hunted for some of the older caches in the region, along with some challenge caches, virtuals and some interesting gadget caches we were told about by some of our other Australian caching friends.DNFd the nearby cache, but came up with the goods here. Nice to add another oldie to the collection.Greetings from Australia and TFTC Seth!
This cache, along with nearby one (which we were actually searching for but found this one first) made for one of the odder caching experiences. Even knowing you're rooting around behind a cacher's house doesn't lessen the feeling of foreboding. Lots of swag got traded by the fishiam, wheatiebits and mercury project kiddos.
Found this one on a Kirkland mini-cache machine with some friends and Jack Jack. Managed to bash my forehead getting the black box. TFTH Seth!
Found by Mary & David from Melbourne, Australia, at 1425. How's that? Two caches for one parking spot! A great little area of trees and shade for Adrian and his dog to play in. Our thanks again to Seth! & Adrian.
We finally found this cache...the third time is a charm. It is always tough to admit that you cannot find a cache but this one was nicely hid and I didn't get lucky the first two times. Thanks for the cache. TNSL. The dog at the house next door could sure howl...must be a hound. He/she annouced our arrival and departure. You meet the nicest people/animals while caching.
The site has changed a bit over the past four years. Old things erode, new things grow. But the hint still works!
I checked and the geocache is still there, safe and sound. It's tucked away carefully, so you may feel it before you can see it. It should be painless; no bushwacking, no thorns. Just a squat down and grab it.
We looked for a good long time but couldn't find either part of it. Of course *everything* was covered in leaves, so that might have been the problem. Maybe another day! On the plus side, we did find the one that's like 37 feet away.
I have to say that I was also in the area and did not find it. Looked in what I thought were all the clue described spots.
