I think it might be an idea to go and cheek to see if the cache is still there because I spent at least 1 hour looking for it but couldn't find it
I made my way up to the top of the island after visiting the nearby earth cache and GCA trig station. Hubby GrimRaider couldn't make the climb today so I had to make it a quick find as I didn't want to leave him waiting. So I searched, and I checked previous logs and looked at the hint a few times but didn't make the find. So annoying! Thanks anyway though, coz the views from up here were amazing
This was my goal to find before breakfast, but not the easiest to walk to in sandals. Tweet view!

Nice location for the cache which was found without difficulty. Thanks for bringing me here. Greetings from Northern Ireland.

Found after a walk round the headland and before our first swim; looking forward to this after not much more than 48 hours in Oz. Lovely views in all directions. TFTC
Well I can now say I've been to Windang Island. Pity a fire had been through and the stairs damaged but kids still managed to get up. Thought the long trek would amount nothing but lucky Geodad found the hide. Thanks to the previous finders who supplied a new container the cache is safe and there were even a few swaps inside. SLTN. TFTC and the views.
IT"S BEEM MUGGLED :0(.
After getting to GZ and searching around we found the log in the grass but no cache.
Signed the log and placed it in a spare container that we had and put it where I think it should of been.
Owner may want to check on my placement and the container that I used as I have no idea what size it should of been.

We decided to do this one on our Geo Family day out for Fathers Day.
But was annoyed to find that it has been muggled as we only found the log thrown on the grass near GZ. Signed the log then placed in a spare container that we had.

Found on our Wollongong caching holiday. This was a very interesting place, very nice to have THREE GC/GCA caches nearby! Parked at the main parking lot and walked along those sand paths before we got to the beach. As we walked towards the island, we saw the old wheels and the nice views in the early morning. As we were walking up to it, we noticed that all the land up top including the stairs had been burnt. I hope it wasn't some vandals that did it, it would be the stupidest thing for them to do to such a lovely location. So it took a while to get up as some of the stairs were damaged. Then on the way to GZ, we found it sad to see how everytime we stepped onto the grass plants, they just cracked and crumbled all the time. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly found - surprised the fire didn't get it. All is ok now. Such a good location! TNLNSL. TFTC Hoojar!

Found after collecting the nearby earth cache. Fantastic views and picked up a TB left by the Dark Nights. Cache is all OK despite the fire as mentioned by the Dark Nights. TFTC.
It's a miracle! We went down to the annual Million Paws Walk with our trusty geodog Molly today and thought we'd grab a cache to celebrate. Earlier in the day we had noticed the fire truck driving on the beach and thought it was part of the festivities until we got to the island and discovered the charred remains of a grass fire. We turned back seeing some grass still smouldering and in a change of heart decided to climb the cliff nearby and lo and behold discovered the cache in the one area which escaped the fire. Left a TB surfer headed for cairns.
The Booo's spent the day and after a spot of lunch decided to grab a cache before we dipped our toes in the water. The walk up to cache has was pleasant and the view spectacular, one of the stairs is damaged but some kind soul has placed the broken stair in a position to make it easily climbable.
Nice to tick this one off with xelanhoj today - credit to him for the actual find. TFTC!
Tftc! After meeting nationalsteel earlier we teamed up to find a cache neither of us had done! Made find after a shortish search. Nice to meet you again and thanks!
Have managed to find a cache either on the way to work or on the way home for the last 5 days to fill in more calendar days. Nice walk across the sand & then up the steps, once at the top found a path through the long grass to GZ & soon had the CIH, spent a bit of time enjoying the views.

A nice walk along the hot sand before cooling our feet at the waters edge and then up we climbed. The grass was initially really overgrown and without shoes we were tentative to wade through. We pushed on and after a few minutes of scratching around we came up with the goods.
As others have done, we climbed down the side to avoid the long grass on the way back.
Dropped off two travelbugs.

Geo Wife and I attended the "7th Annual Illawarra Get-together & 100" on a slightly overcast morning however the day developed into a most pleasant caching adventure.
Parked the car and enjoyed a most pleasant walk along the beach and over the rocks, up the now dilapidated stair case and across the grassy hill to GZ. Wonderful views south along the coast from this vantage point.
The cache was located, log signed and all replaced as found.

A windy but pleasant walk to GZ. Geohusband found it, and signed the log. Nice views.
It was very windy up on the island today. Some fisherman were trying to catch something. Found cache pretty quickly in the bush. Log is wet, may need replacing. Took TB. Thanks
5808 + 619 = 6427. Found during a run down to Shellharbour/Wollongong region.
We came out here to grab this Traditional, the Trig and finally the Earthcache before heading home to Canberra this arvo. This was one windy area today ! It felt like we were being sandblasted as we walked across from the 'mainland'. Up the stairs and made a quick find at GZ. Love those views ! Thanks Hoojar !

We had a pleasent walk to this beautiful place. Found some nice shells on the way. Loved it! TFTC!
Almost gave up on this one as the gps was misbehaving but eventually it sorted itself and we were led to GZ. Searched around for a bit before we came up with the goods but eventually the log was signed and we were on our merry way. All the previous finders were not wrong about the grass.....it is scary tall! Who knows what was lurking beneath our feet! Anyway we had never been out to the island before today so thanks Hoojar for placing this one here. Will definitely return with the rest of the tribe TNLN SL TFTC!
On a windswept Saturday afternoon, a bit of hunting around revealed the cache. I wouldn't want to do this after a few weeks from now as I am sure that the area would be home to a few "joe blakes" (snakes). Log only, thanks for the hide.
Wow, I spent waaay too long looking for this one, with no luck. Lovely spot tho, so TFTC anyway!
Found on a beautiful autumn day with SESBLOCKER. This was a lovely spot to sit in the sun and look out at the view - Thankyou for bringing us here!!
Found with "The Neighbs". Found after abt 15mins. What a beautiful place. The long grass makes for a very comfy bed.. TFTC Hoojar, chip & ding.
Walking like emus to avoid the likelihood of a snake, Mr H & Mr Us ventured through the long grass on a pretty warm summers day.
The cache was almost like searching for a needle in a haystack, but thankfully Mr H came up with the goods pretty quickly.
Down the rock face & back along the sand was the obvious choice to re-join the rest of our teams.

A joint find with Mr Usat31 whilst the rest of our group remained on the beach soaking up the sun & surf.
The grass on the top of the island was nice & long, which made the walk in thongs all the more fun on a hot day like today! Needless to say, we took the quick route back down the goat track, and enjoyed the walk along the rock platform back to the beach.

Wandered out this way with no problems (does it ever get to the point when you can't???) and we were soon heading up towards GZ. A quick look and the cache was in hand. Some great views of the in coming rain clouds, so we quickly headed off towards the trig.
Thanks Hoojar, a great little spot.

Can't believe I actually found this. After searching through the long grass and shrubbery for way too long I was about to give up and then decided to use the clue litterally and let the gizmo settle and "walah" there it was. Very satisfying.

The kite surfers were out in force this arvo, so I really enjoyed the spectacle as I walked along the beach. Great views from the island too. Although I must admit I was a bit concerned about snakes here too - the access to GZ is overgrown, but happily I didn't encounter any.

Webby and I left our families on the beach to enjoy the surf and headed to the 'island'.
Once at GZ our first thought was 'You want us to search there?'. No sooner had Webby said something about maybe finding a snake he had the cache in hand. I can see why some have DNFed this cache. It could take some finding.
Great view from GZ up and down the coast. Wandered over to the trig soon after to watch some rock fishers risking all - and they say geocaching can be dangerous.

Easy find, first spot I looked, though, it could have taken a lot longer.

Found this cache a while ago but forgot to log it. Came with part of the Abalonies crew. Absolutely lovely spot. TFTC.
We were at first a little unsure as we had to cross a fence. But finally we found the cache! T4TC and greetings from Switzerland!
Grass was pretty high today, and everything overgrown. Suparki12 and I approached from the top, me as usual barefoot, still having enough from scratches and leeches of last week end in the escarpment... Who knows, who's waiting here for me!
GZ pointed clearly into some bush - probably the only left in the area. I remember, few years ago, there was plenty of wattle bush which seems burnt down, exposing the lands to weeds. I spotted a few Birdnest Ferns growing hiddenly in cracks - which gives good hope fro regeneration. However, why council would not plant some banksias, eucalypts and lomandra longifolia grasses to kick start the process? Because they are only interested in real estate!
So, we didn't want to step too much into this remaining bush - searched around it and gave up after 20 mins.

Quite a few muggles around and somewhat scary walking through the long grass in thongs, but very good views. Thanx for the cache.

Muggles are not always muggles.
There was suspicious looking activity in the general direction of the cache, so we kept our distance for a bit. They went away, so we moved in.
Great spot, but the cliffs were a bit nerve wracking (neither of us are good with heights!) Still cache found safely almost on dusk ( about 20 miinute until sunset) , so we didn't complete the trio here.
There was still enough light for a trad, but possibly not for a multi, so we left that one for another time.
Cache looked a bit lonely, so we left a coin.

Cache run on the way from Auckland to the Megga Event in Wagga. Quick find and a great spot for a cache T4TC.
What a lovely spot as you say to watch the sun go down over Shellharbour..a little overcast this evening, but still a very pleasant spot to sit and take some time out..although the grass was a little longer than it usually is (see photo), probably been growing just as fast as our lawn with our weather of late. A good cache hide on a lovely little island so close to home... TFTH
Found during our 2010 Wagga to Wollongong Caching tour. The tour was conducted over 5 days taking in the various sites and towns situated between these two cities.

What an awesome place! I had observed that the tide would be very low today so Tbone and I headed out to explore the island. Still setting the record for most days consecutive caching. When we were walking to the island I could see a big storm coming from the south. We hot footed up to the top and Tbone found what I had initially missed. Dropped off a TB and signed the log (no other TB in there). Tbone wanted to explore more of the island so we had a few minutes on the rock shelf before we knew the jig was up. Down came a massive rain storm! I had brought an umbrella but we still ended up soaked to the skin. But it was only rain and we want to come back and find Seedy Stuarts cache and explore the island more.

Deja Vu - having been here only recently, it was strange having to come back again; not that I minded, this time I had the whole team in tow, and while they wandered along the rock platform, I ducked in for a quick cache find before joining them for a walk around the island. It had been difficult to convince the junior team members to come along; they would have preferred to stay home with their christmas presents, but they forgot all that after this adventure, and were eager for more exploring. Even the weather cooperated; driving up the coast Roo asked me if I wanted to go home, as at that stage it was bucketing down, but we were blessed with a little sunshine at GZ and timed it well with low tide too. Thanks for the cache Hoojar, Chip and Ding.

Today is one of those few days in the year that I've never cached on so I'd left this one until today. Took the kids for a fun stroll on the beach, all the time telling them we were going to an island. How dissappointed were they when we walked straight to the steps.
Did the ccahing stuff (no travel bug in cache) and then spent a while looking in all the rock pools. Thanks

We decided to go and have a look for the three caches around the area this afternoon. It was really windy today. Quickly located the cache and we were on our way once again. Thanks Hoojar, Chip & Ding for the hunt.
Don't seem to be having much luck at Windang recently but came up withe the goods here today. Dropped the GPSr through the stairs on the way up and that took more time to find than the cache.
A bit worried about the weather front coming across but wasn't bothered by it in the end. Another nice walk out to this spot. TFTC!

Out caching with Woody Figtree after the event and decided to do Windang Island at night. NIce walk out to the island, passing a couple watching a dvd on the sand, some people prawning and others beach fishing. There was also a dead pelican on the way to GZ. Once at GZ and after a short search Woody Figtree made the find. TFTC and the earlier event.
Came in at high tide with Goonieroos. Only just managed to keep the feet reasonably dry. Thanks HCD for the hide. I had not been out here before.
Up this way again to look for a few more Trigs so called in to have a look for this one. Perhaps you can send me an email when next you hide or intend to hide a cache not far from a Trig, (especially if I haven't found the Trig) - save greenhouse gasses, save the world. Request is TongueInCheek of course. Located cache & left a choice piece of Agate. The waters were a glorious colour today & I paid a bit more attention to the artifacts. As luck would have it Bass Point was closed so missed out on that Trig. Later on decided Bulli was just toooooo far away. Thanks for the placement.
I didnt actually see the new location until i headed out there to discover where it now was. Seeing as i was supposed i help hide it i now know where it is

Saw this one pop up yesterday afternoon and thought shall I have a go at it? No, leave this one for somebody else. Brought the kids to school and went over to see who beat me this morning, even more surprised to find a FTF!! Found this one at 12.00 today only to find that wilbert got here first.
My question is does, wilbert get the FTF or do we get a joint FTF. Wilbert's gps was damaged recently and he is now using one of ours as a loner until he is able to get a new one. As our gps found it and it is a part of our team I think we should get it (only jokeing Congrats wilbert on a FTF not often you get on around here almost 24hrs after publishing). Last time I lend out one of our GPS's, LOL.
I actualy seen this one come online yesterday and gave Trac a call as she was heading to Albion Park for the afternoon.
I stayed home after 3 days of caching and visiting family up north around Nelsons Bay and the Central Coast. We didnt get as many caches as we would have liked. Maybe I should get my priorities right and limit my time visiting family and more time caching. Another 40 would have been tops and would have been doable up that way.We had to be back early as Trac needed the car. We were on track to get back until we came along Picton Rd just after the accident and the road was closed. If I only didnt do that last cache we have have been involved in the accident. If we had of stopped at 6 instead of 6.30 we would have been home but no caching got the better and we got stuck having to detour via Appin. This made things longer due to the new ones out there. I was already going to be late so did them while I was there. Well that enough about that story back to this one.
I gave Trac a call and diverted her from her grandmothers and towards the cache only having to call her off when I finaly opened the cache page and learning of its location. Trac had the kids dressed up for some photo taking and not suited to caching in this area.
Anyway got up today and seen it had still not been found and thought someone would have got it by then and just not logged. Decided to go out after the kids went to school but then the pool cleaner turned up, drats. Finaly got out the door and was heading towards GZ when I wittnessed a car accident. A driver decided he wanted to do a U Turn at the Harvey Norman traffic lights and turned straight into oncoming traffic. No one hurt thankfully but stuck around until police arrived.
Finaly arrived at GZ and started to look to hard. Reread the cache info and worked out what I was doing wrong and then the cache was quickly in hand.
Caching duties completed and back to the car it was only to find that either the tide had come in slightly or I walked in the deepest area as my shorts were now wet again. Starting to get use to this around this area, LOL.
