Beerwah has disappeared and as such is now archived.

I suspect it was removed by a local ranger since it was definitely not an obvious placement.

Good luck to any new cacher.

Did this cache with Scurvy and Son of JaYwALk. Thought some kiwi influence might find this one but alas.....all I found was a severe lack of fitness and a few blisters! Spent about an hour looking for it but even with a decent lock on the GPS we simply couldn't find it. The spot where it "should have been" seems to have been overgrown with foliage and almost impenetrable. Nonetheless we continued our journey to the summit which offered some fantastic views of the Sunshine Coast (and the carpark way....way down in the distance!).

This cache hasn't been found for more than two years and now boasts three 'no find' logs. I emailed the owners two weeks ago but received no reply. They haven't posted any notes nor logged on to the GC site for more than six months.
It's likely the cache is MIA and the owners are either unconcerned about its fate or have taken up other interests. The Glasshouse region is a significant area and its tallest resident deserves a cache that is maintained by a conscientious and responsible player.
I therefore recommend archival so as to give someone else a crack at owning a Mt Beerwah geocache.
Please feel free to email me if you wish to discuss the issue.

This was the third mountain for the day.

Went up to the top first and then looked for the cache on the way down. Did not find it. Spent a good hour, but was getting a limited gps signal due to the overhanging cliffs.

I guess we will have to go back and try again.

Son of mtbikeroz decided to try this one again on his holidays. Enjoyed the climb apparently, conquered the top, enjoyed the challenge - but, left the GPS behind - called me on mobile for the clue/hints - still couldn't find the geocache.

We'll both be back one day, allowing plenty of time to locate that pesky geocache.

I emailed the EPA to check on the closure of Mt Beerwah, as it was not listed as closed on their website (http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/environment/park/managing/news.html). I received the following reply:
--------------------------------------------------
Hi Brendan

The Ranger at Beerwah has just advised me that this track is open. The first 50m can be slippery when wet, the rest of the track is quite sleep but can be climbed without equipment.

Hope this helps.

I don't know when I'll get a chance to attempt it though.

I came all the way from Canada for this little bit of a workout. I even managed to find the right parking lot and trail head in the maze of unmarked backroads. Great view of the peak on the final gravel road as you drive beside the farm; I photographed the peak from there for what might have been. My gpsr said that apart from a small matter of some elevation gain, which was very obvious, I was very close to the cache. However, the Parks people have put a fence across the access trail, posted a sign saying this section of the park is closed and a note that there is a $100 on-the-spot fine for being caught in the area. Disappointing!

Ah, what a climb, but nothing too difficult for mtbikeroz. After climbing all the way to the top (and passing 20+ people coming down - what a busy day !) , we then tried to find the cache on the way down. Read the clues but that didn't help. Stood on top of the cliff, above the cave, the gps indicated 10m off the cliff. Went down to the cave , couldn't get a fix, back to the top, got a fix, back down again, back up again, tried clues - Arrgh - still couldn't get a fix up the top without indicating it was over the edge. Running out of daylight, I had to call it quits. I'll be back!!!!
GREAT views from the top though - all the way from Brisbane to Noosa heads visible, crystal clear day, no breeze & no mossies or other biting things. Great day had by mtbikeroz & son. Warning to all others though - if wet do not try this climb.
Cooee.

This discovery has opened up another world it seems. Be careful where you tread on this find as it could be your last....there is a doozy of a cliff nearby. My (11 y.o. Cocko 3) son and I (Cocko 1 - natch) have also recently introduced (Cocko 2 - yes...the leading lady) into geocaching

We did it first. The climb was a bit hairy right that the bottom of the rock, the climb from there is fairly right. At the top the track opens out to the bottom of the cliff face with beautiful holes and caves in the rock face. We ended up going to the summit first then finding the cache on the return journey. Misty rain was the order of the morning. There is not much in the cache box and NO pen/pencil for the Logbook so make sure you take one up to use of donate. We didn't take anything and didn't bring anything to add. Sad
Well, Well worth the climb. From here we went off and did Tibrogargan and planted a cache on top of that, so go and find it the climb is a bit easier than this one.
