this cache seems to have done its dash so will archive it and perhaps open it up for another cacher
When we got there, there were three gardeners pruning the roses. It didn't seem to matter so we collected the information with no problems but finding the cache was another problem. Had a good look and the realised we had eyes on us. However he didn't seem keen to tell us where the cache was so eventually we had to leave without our smiley.
Wet underfoot and foggy above didn't deter us from attempting to find this cache but alas we had no luck despite a very thorough search. It looks very much as if others have done the same with GZ being a little worse for wear.
Muggle free and two sets of eyes yet still no find. GZ is starting to look worse for wear. Maybe the CO should check?
Found while staying at the nearby holiday park for a couple of days. Thanks for taking us to this wonderfully tranquil spot, which we would have otherwise walked straight past.
[green] Down here from Palmerston North to visit one of my dads for Christmas. Bit of a family gathering actually. Staying at the backpackers, so I need to get out and get some breakfast. But it's 6am, even the supermarket isn't yet open. Bummer! Guess I'll have to go geocaching first!
I got one of the questions wrong and realised when the GPS tried to send me 10m into private property. Hang on - I'm using the same digit twice here, that can't be right! Wander back and recheck - yup. This time a quick find.
Note: Log is mouldy. not surprising as this style of cache container (sistemas) are not actually waterproof. And this cache is on its side so water can run into the seal and thus inside.

A beautiful spot being well looked after by a team of gardeners. It must have been obvious we were looking for something as one asked if he could be of assistance. We told him we were geocaching...a term he knew but he said he was not aware of one in the garden. He was talking on his cell phone when we come to leave having located the prize and signed the log so we asked his co worker to give him a thumbs up.
Beautiful gardens and roses. Nobody about today. Thanks for bringing us to this love spot.
Had a Cave SAR training day over the road at the MOT Police Station. We took over the rose gardens for a communications exercise using Michie Phones (Earth return single wire phone) and Hay Phones (Ground transmitting low frequency radio). In between all the activity there was time to collect the cache unnoticed.

It was a bit of a dash in the rain today to get this one - sadly only the cache lid and log book appear to be around, CO may want to check it out. #5310
I'd worked out the final co-ordinates last week but didn't go for the find as it was a gorgeous sunny day (after a few rainy ones) and all the houses up the side of the gardens had their doors open and occupants making the most of it, especially the old fella closest the cache who was sitting outside in his chair .. No such trouble this afternoon so Jr Juicy and I bee-lined, signed, and had returned to car within a few minutes
TFTC!
ps: container only had one part, no bottom to 'clip' on to

Cool hiding place. Couldn't find it the first time cos I forgot the -1 but got it eventually.
Today we set our American friend Jeff loose with our GPS. He did really well. I think he an ardent Geo Cacher now.
Nice spot for the cache, but immediate maintaining is necessary. Bottom of container is missing, there is just a lid and log book.. tftc

What a beautiful garden and so nice to come across some roses that haven't had the scent bred out of them. A fun little multi, quickly completed calculations and then located the final in a nicely tucked away area. Thank you for an enjoyable cache.

Beautiful rose garden we did not expect in this small town. Took a short tour around the town today, as the weather is not the best. Thanks.

Just a lovely area. Daffs are my favorite flower. Had to have a think about this but hint got me there. TFTC
Didnt know the area too well so took a walk into the local 'lodge' entrance..... quickly backtracked without a secret handshake.
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

Found on Easter Sunday with furpurse, Mum & Dad. #1/36 finds for the day, second consectutive day for breaking my daily record.
A good quick little multi. Beautiful gardens, I felt a few and shame that they had no aroma:( TFTC

Arrived at our nearby campground at the fall of darkness. A quick search on the GPS showed a multi challenge rather close by. Off we went, the clues were easily collected and then we searched, ....and searched, ... Finally we read some logs and discovered a mistake in our calculations. Once corrected, it was an easy grab. A nice cach in a beautiful location. TN L-SG coin. Greatings from Singapore. TFTC!
Good use of the map to make an interesting multi in this pleasant rose garden. Thanks.

#548, found during my kiwi traveling. Log in june, because I was without net. TFTC
A straightforward little multi. Thanks so much for bringing us to this beautiful garden with its glorious scents. Hmmmmm! [^] A favourite. TFTC
First of the day just around the corner from the motel we were staying at. Answered the questions easily but because I didn't have a printout and had to read the questions off the screen of the GPSr I missed the fact that I had to subtract 1 for value B. As a result my final position was out by about 18 metres. Hunted for a little while where the GPSr was taking me as it was plausible. Then looked at the hint and decided on another couple of places to search, and found the cache quite quickly. Took a waypoint here and very rapidly realised what was in error - the coordinates should have been dead-on if calculated correctly. Signed log, TFTC!
Nice rozes, and we found the answers quick. But then.... We looked everywhere (yesterday and today). But no luck. Is it still there?
We knew where this was supposed to be, and it was indeed there this time!!! A nice wee evening stroll around from our camping ground. Absolutely beautiful to see all the roses out. TFTC
This has been on the to do list for some time.So we stopped off on our way home from grabbing a few with the team after school. The roses were in full bloom and the scent was unreal.Had to be a bit sneaky because there was a muggle sitting on the seat having his tea.Wow he couldn't see what I was doing.Tftc
Must be great to visit the place in summer with all these nice roses. Quick find after a short stroll. TFTC
Don't know what happened here. Miss Miester found the cache quite some distance from where the calculated coords had it but I did't go back to check whether it was a maths error. Well maintained and beautiful gardens but unfortunately not the right time for roses. TFTC - 18 of 28.
An easy find after popping back into town for some fuel and to clean up a couple remaining caches. Cheers Gav [9795]
The daffodils were coming out and made this quest an enjoyable one. Passed here many times this week. Found the cache several metres found our destination coords. TFTC
A nice quick little multi that I found in my lunch break. Had some help from a work mate. Thanks for the cache =)
Back this time for a quick find.
We do enjoy this garden. Really well kept.
Picked up coin.

Wandered through the roses on our way to eat out in town. Great little rose garden, and cache. TFTC
What a lovely area. Nicely formed multi-cache - soon of to final area. A quick find in a good location. Cannot believe there are no favoutite points on this cache - well there is one now. SL Left GC TFTC
This was fun to find... can not be seen while finding it. Have never been to these gardens before and have lived in the area for yonks!
Thanks foir your help Rangi loged with permisson. Enjoyed the gardens and the nice smells
1230hrs Lovely garden, got some good pics. Sorted out the coords easily enough. Searched high and low of head height on the correct side but no cache. There's been a lot of wind so just maybe ....! Anyway we DNF it. The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
Did all our sums for this and got lead to a logical place, but after a pretty thorough search we didn't find a cache and were starting to feel concerned about damaging the hiding place, and we were getting rained on, so we stopped. I guess we got a number wrong somewhere.
Oops. I found this cache when out caching with Sidewaze but somehow missed logging it. Apologies for being a little late . TFTC .
Jr B must have stuffed up the answers as we found ourselves out of the park. As we gave up looking and walked back in, the obvious was staring us in the face. Tool all of 12 seconds to find it then TFTC.
A bit of a crazy day to be visiting a rose garden. Very wet underfoot and not so much as a shoot on the roses, let alone a bloom. Oh well. We felt the urge for "just one more cache" and this was it. Many thanks.
Lovely little rose garden, and today was the first time we have bothered to stop and walk through it. We were impressed!!
There was much activity in neighbouring gardens, but managed to be discreet. TFTC

I had to do a driving course today at the lodge that is at the back of the rose garden. As I arrived about 1/2 hour early there was plenty of time to include this multi in the days achievements (as well as several perfectly executed driving manouvers, I wish....). Cheers Rangi.
4302 An enjoyable multi, oh the sweet smell of success. Charley’s Roses were nicely set out in a great wee park. Many thanks for sharing this spot.
A nice rose garden but I was too late to see it at it's best. My gps was set the cache's GZ 10m further to the south (in the neighbour's garden) from where I found the cache. The satellites must have moved today! Thanks for the cache.
A lovely garden in a lovely town. We stopped and had lunch in Motueka on our SA Country Vets Tennis Tour after a morning visit to Kaiteriteri. Had a little time to walk around and look at things. Decided this cache fitted into our time limit. Another lovely spot on our tour around the top half of the South Island. Thanks for your hospitality and the cache. (Posted 28th on arrival home)
Nice little haven where we ate our picnic. found the co-ords easily enough but couldn't find the cache.
Decided that it was time to have lunch, so stopped by a nearby cafe and picked up so lunch before heading to this cache, once there boxhill solved the questions, and a quick search all was revealed and we all signed the cache before having lunch and admiring the spot, TFTC TNLNSL (1686)
Did the workings for this one at Christmas time, but ran out of time to look for the final then. Found today after enjoying a lunch break in this very well maintained park. TNLN SL 1245hr TFTC
This garden was a pleasant surprise - the sort you drive right past without noticing. Enjoyed a lunch stop here with boxhill and yeetrees on our GBH tour. Grabbed the info while having lunch and made a quick find. Fortunately the only scent today was from the roses, none of the sort produced by WD & HO Wills.

Our co-ords for the second part were a bit out, however with the clue we were able to find the cache. Gorgeous rose gardens. TFTC
Found with hubby Stretch0 was one we had been meaning to do for awhile and finally got to doing it !!! Thanks for the cache always a heavenly scent in the evenings this time of year

3205. We loved these gardens when we came last year and they were just as beautiful today.
It was as if Charley himself was there today - pushing his trolley and gathering up a large bunch of roses to take home! He called us over as we were leaving - needed someone to talk to. His mother had helped plant some of the roses and he often comes here to enjoy the gardens and collect a bunch for home!
Thanks

No time to do this on Tuesday but today we had time to smell the roses and find a cache. Mrs Sobad's sister was visiting so we took an afternoon trip to the top of the hill. And stopped here on the way. It is great to find roses with an aroma. Took nothing, Left Julie the elephant TB. TFTC
Beaut little garden and nice cache spot that I hadn't visited before. + / - TB, TFTC, Biggles.
I thoroughly enjoyed this cache. The flowers were absolutely stunning here this afternoon. TFTC #935
We unexpectedly found ourselves in Mot for lunch so decided to stop in. Great to see this spot being used for a cache again and even better that the final gz was close by. The roses and lavender today were awesome. TFTC.
Nice One!!!!!!!!!Great little garden to visit, especially this time of the year. Fine tribute to Charley. At first looked in another "logical" spot with no success. Sooned realized the error of my ways and a quick find was made. The GZ co-orinates were well within the GPS margin of error. Well done. Thanks
Thanks to Rangi I missed my morning coffee but I'll get one at work. Thanks R for putting a cache in this iconic garden.
