# 9532 Back in WA for a bit from Canberra. It always feels like summer when I'm here. We'll be travelling between Perth, Albany/Denmark and Margaret River over two weeks. While it's not a geo-trip, I should still be able to grab a few.Another great construction. I was a bit afraid the cache would end up in the water, but I need not have worried. Fantastic. Thanks roymerc for the Mystery Cache
I love the story in the cache description about how this one was constructed. Unfortunately just as I located the cache it started to pour down - yet again- so I hastily signed the bottom of one of the sheets, returned it to the outer container and ran back to the Bibbulmun shelter. TYTC roymerc, most enjoyable despite the rain.
I came over to WA last year for WAGB 23 and had such a great time so I decided to come back over again for this years events in Augusta. So after all of the planning with dates worked out my work decided that I could only have one week off so flying over was my only option. So I flew into to Perth and my first stop will be Busselton for 2 nights. It has been 47 years since I was in this part of WA and Im really looking forward to the re visit.Im making my way down the coast and picking out caches that look interesting to me.After spending a bit of time in Bunbury it was back to the Geo Rent a Car to continue along the coast and I then made it to Busselton.Day 4 of the trip. After caching around Busselton, Dunsbourgh and Cape Naturaliste I reached Albany for 3 nights.Caught up with Roaming Howie last night and a plan was hatched to head to Denmark today (the one in WA not the country) to tackle most of roymerc caches.Well made and great caches were soon located and ye we did remember the batteries. So this is number 1 and it blends in nicely with its surroundings. Thanks roymerc TFTC
Find number 13829 at 9:03:44AM on Monday the 9 September 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Today is our last full day in Denmark, tomorrow we bug out west again, not sure where, we'll work that out on the road. Today is about getting those last few geocaches and visiting a couple of touristy things.Ducked out to grab a couple of early caches whilst the misses slept in. Parked at the bridge and had a pleasant stroll along the rail trail for another quick find.**Thanks for placing this cache roymerc**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Wow this is a 15 y.o. cache, and still works perfectly. We were out this afternoon on arrival in Denmark for a couple of days. Nice easy stroll, and I walked past it before saying "Hold it, what was that?". Again, thanks for an excellent cache.
Thanks for another fun cache royFirst of many other BYOBs on our trip to lovely Denmark.
Just when we think we're off and running in the BYOB series our el cheapo battery has opened its last cache and died. I can count it's performances on two fingers.. So off we rode to the supermarket to get another, two to be sure.. We knew we had to be stealthy but stealth was going out the window if the cache shoots off to freedom here. Ahhh.... nice of the CO to take that into account. TFTC roymerc.
Not only is this series full of magical containers with twists and turns and unexpected surprises, it is also giving us a very scenic tour of Denmark. GZ cold, windy and very beautiful. Log signed. Just time for one more I think before we head back today. Thanks roymerc Domsky
Well pretty sure my wife's heart just stopped Definitely a fast exit. Loved the cache and the view. Just incredible!
Well what I spot for a cache and I must say we were very impressed with the construction of the cache. Luckily we did BYOB. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Tftc FP added
All fixed. Also placed new log scroll and stubby pencil. Even included in five 9volt battery keepers!
Another brilliant BYOB, gorgeous spot to check out the river and views as well! Love the story behind this one too!Camping at Cosy Corner for a few days and looking forward to many days of many caches! Thank you roymerc for placing and maintaining Bring Your Own Battery #1 for us and others to find and enjoy! You are some sort of geo-genius and these geocaches are the reason we came down to Denmark! Love your work! Love your cache! FP added for brilliance and dedication to the game!
These caches are great. Most people wouldn't even know it is there. Decided to grab this one as we were walking past. Thanks for the cache.Have added a favourite as these caches are great.
parked closely and headed off going to grab a few caches, opps overshot this one, nice one love how it blends in so wellSo many caches, so little time, which do we chooseCanetoads and cockroach on holidays in the West TMac61 and Bliss BabyTFTC
Oh the rivers you see when you do t have a paddle make me grind my teeth on frustration however this holiday isn't about that so we are walking to the cache instead. Glad it's not as hot as the past few days in the west. Another fun cache to check out.
For today's caches in Denmark we bought a battery and came of course to this bridge. Thank you for the nice cache
Oggi giornata dedicata soprattutto a loggare le BYOB. Questa una delle ultime. La procedura ormai la conosciamo ed in breve tempo il nostro nick appare sul logbook. Ciao e grazie. #10900Today was a day dedicated mainly to logging in to BYOB. This is one of the latest. We now know the procedure and in a short time our nickname appears in the logbook. Hello and thanks. #10900
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Lovely river, kids jumping all very nice. Thanks for bringing us here
We had to abort our first attempt has the location was way to popular. However on our return from the walk the place was deserted and a quick find release and sign was carried out. It really is amazing to see caches in plain sight that are safe from muggles. Fav pt again. Tftc
Yabadabadu Auf der Brcke beim Cache. Muggelfrei geloggt. Genial. Favo in. TFTC Pitfeder
Tftc amazing cache!Completed with first time geocacher elephant friends!
Out on the prowl with a 9v battery. This was our first after lunch. Clever way to find in plan sight
Naturally a quick and easy find. Needed to dodge some muggles but all good.Lovely location here.TFTC
Second BYOB which works the same as the first one. Device might probably need some lube as it requires a small tap to release the log. TFTC!
We have been travelling for the last 4 mths from SA, to the top of NT and around WA to now be in Denmark. Originally we had planned to visit the famous BYOB series in 2019, however our trip didnt pan out as expected. So we finally made it here today and boy was it worth the wait. We love the extra care, thought and effort that has gone into this cache. It was almost dark by the time we got here, so no muggles around and it was getting chilly. Thanks for the fun roymerc.
We initially pulled up here before #5, but annoying muggles around, so came back afterwards. Annoying muggles gone, so cache log extracted quickly. Thanks roymerc
Was told I needed to detour into Demark to check out the BYOB series and it does not disappoint! Will be back to do the rest of this series!
Our first ever byob cache! Didn't take a lot of brain power, just a bit of stealth so that the kids jumping off the bridge didn't spot us. I like the vibe of Denham. I also like the caches! TFTC
Out on a Denmark geocaching trip today. After hearing so much about these caches I was very excited to finally be able to find them! Took a bit of time for the container to drop, but managed to sign the log in the end. TFTC, roymerc!
A nice find here, cache is all good
In WA for 3 days, so I decided to hire a car and head south from Perth and drive around the wheat belt and back up the coast line. Day 2, after staying in Albany for the evening I headed off towards Busselton, first stop was Denmark to try and find all of the BYOB and a few other before making my way along the back roads finding a few caches along the way before caching around Busselton in the evening.
Thanks for the cache

Couldn’t come to Denmark without stopping at the shops for a battery and doing some of these. The best caches tftc
WOW, this is one of my favourite cache containers ever, well hidden in plain sight and blends in so well.
Once I found how to use the battery the log was soon exposed, log signed and returned as found, it was only then that I enjoyed the views at GZ, walked away with a smile from this one, thanks for placing, a favourite point from me and

Not the best day for sight seeing but a great day for cache viewing! The clouds and cold winds are keeping the muggles away which is making it easier to find some of the great caches around Denmark.
A favorite point for the effort in creating and installing this for us to enjoy!
Thanks for find #4649

Had my new battery and it tingles my tongue, but no luck with this one unfortunately. I shall try another, to see if I got a dud. Pretty location, thank you.
Pays to have your bunnies charged up! Second try with a better battery and the smiley is mine. Thanks for the hunt and the view... twice!
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Arrived in Denmark today and got set up. After lunch it rained so we headed out for some sighseeing and on return the rain had stopped so parked nearby and Wandered out on the bridge. Spotted the obvious hide and then located the power points and did what needed to be done. Signed the log and replaced as found.
Very clever. I do like a well engineered cache so a fave for this.

Another FUN surprise! Out and about on trusty treadles AKA the MTB that goes where I go. Home is some 3500 kms EAST and word had travelled I should look out for famous roymerc caches. Well - look out I did so I'm on a mission to discover why word has travelled the continent. Each of these have been clever quirky fun creative and sometimes hilarious BYOB gadgets - created to no doubt put a smile on the dial. Certainly built for longevity all hiders should take note - I have! TFTC and the memorable FUN!!
Wandered across the bridge and found another in your face roymerc cache. Applied battery and collected another smiley.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

On holiday in Denmark, time for some smileys in this area.
Dodging the rain to get this cache.
Easy find, TFTC.
Great mechanism.

Our second day in WA, driving from Perth to Albany, Denmark and Walpole. What we hadnt thought of was the lack of network. UPS here you need to plan a head, and we’ve only done that for a few special once. This serie was one of the special once which we really enjoyed. We arrived well prepared with our 9v battery but not enough time to all, but we got a few. TFTC and greetings from &
This was the only other gadget cache that I found on our first day of riding the Munda Biddi from Albany towards Manjimup. We completed 86 km today.
While the others in the cycling party checked the map to make a call about which way to head from here towards our accommodation, I checked my app for caches and spotted this one on the bridge. A quick backtrack on foot to GZ, and then it was a check to see where to apply the battery. The cache container blends in so perfectly with the bridge that the average person probably will never have a second look at it.
The battery did its work and the mechanism released the cache with the logbook. Nobody else came across the bridge while I was at GZ, so it was an easy sign and replace as found.
I just love these gadget caches; so well made and perfectly executed. Well done! Just such a pity I didn't have the opportunity to seek out all the rest of the caches in this series. Hopefully I'll be back oneday.

*Another geocaching adventure with woolwood9.*
*We visited many good caches and trails on our trip and had a lot of fun!*
Some showers of rain again today but lots of fine weather otherwise.
Really appreciate the cache owners effort putting this container out.
We soon located the hide.

On road trip through Western Australia with my muggle friend! Stopped in Denmark today, so we did a little walk looking for nice caches. We had great fun with the BYOB series! Thanks roymerc for creating these creative containers! TFTC!!
What a lovely spot for a cache. There was plenty of activity on the river today. Bunadoorian and I opened this cache and found just one spot to sign the log. We added another logsheet to this cache. TFTC, for placing another wonderful piece for us to find and for bringing us here - roymerc.
I was able to create a bit of a block from all the muggles nearby while Grub62 retrieved the cache and we then moved away to sign the logbook. Then I created another block while the cache was returned. Now to enjoy the views, then to find a shadier spot to try to cool down a bit. TFTC.
After a few years away from WA I decided to return and visit family living in the south west.
It had always been a goal of mine to visit Roy Merc territory and today I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to be here amongst some of the great caches offered.
I will spend NYE and NYD roaming the area collecting RoyMerc caches. It is why I decided to head down this way.
While some kids attempted to jump from the bridge, i quickly applied the appropriate tool and Shazam, it opened.
Another great hide in the series.

TFTC found . Our third done, and we’re really starting to get into the series. All of these are very cleaver.
This was our first BYOB cache attempted, so we’d excitedly purchased the required tool and parked nearby. A very cool cache concept and great execution - this whole series are worthy of favourite points, tftc! (Found with racingstripes)
Very nice spot for a geocache and very simple to access took me a minute to understand how it worked but I finally figured it out great cache
My geotuition wasn't being used on this one. I was being a diligent cacher and following my map and the co-ords. Muggle hubby made a suggestion to check elsewhere.. after I said "no the map says here" I gave in. Lucky I did! First BYOB in hand. How cool is that! Very excited to get more
In Denmark today to try and find as many roymerc BYOB caches as we could before heading to Albany to our accommodation.
The reputation of these caches is Australian wide, so we were looking forward to visiting them and seeing for ourselves the craftmanship put into each and every one.
We were not disappointed as we used out 9 volt battery to open just a few this afternoon.
Thanks roymerc for the extra effort put into your caches for us and others to enjoy.
A favourite point for all.

I had to go to the backup battery for this one.

Came along today with goingplaces2 and a battery as well. Found this one but it was not easy to open. In fact it would not open at all. The anti muggle container kept its secret well. Fav point for the good construction and the fun. TFTC
The weather gave us a bit of everything today with cold temperatures, rain, hail, gale force winds and sunshine. Our focus was to mainly pick up some BYOB caches along with ilook4geo. We very much enjoyed the day despite the weather.
This was one of the problem ones and we agree that it does not seem to be working properly. So we were disappointed but went on with the hunt. Thanks for the cache anyway go to roymerc.
