It's time this cache had a little love! An unusually cool day meant I could still walk up at a reasonable pace. It took me 1.5hrs plus a couple of stops.
This is a great time of year to do the walk as you can see many wildflowers. Thanks for the placement, all was in good condition.

Thanks Hi pressure, stopped by the cairn, had a coffee and a nice apple slices from the Healsville bakery, then signed the cache log. Beaut day. Regards from vic
A visit to Healsville a couplw of weeks ago and I noted a few interesting caches so made a mental note to come back here with geobuddy Spiffy-. Today was that day.
With 2 kids in toe, we bit of almost more than we could chew with this ascent. Sun light soon to run out and 2km to go. But we double timed it and made the summit. GZ obvious but still I failed to search correctly and 5 minutes later I rechecked and made the find.
Trippled timed it down and my legs felt it at the car. Great adventure. Favourite.
Thanks to hi pressure for the placement and fun.

Found at 4:50 pm.
Fleabag- had some idea about climbing up another giant hill today so I tagged along after he mentioned the Healesville Bakery.
We continued on from half a riddle and finally made it to the top. The track was great most of the way, quite a few trees down from the recent storms but that was a minor obstacle.
Much easier than climbing Mt Juliet nearby.
Thanks Cache Guardians for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Quite a nice stroll, on the way back down. Thanks for the adventure and the motivation to get my fitness back after slacking off over lockdown.
When you think you have reached the top but you haven't Found during a break in covid lockdowns
Nice stroll after lockdown...busier than expected. Dropped a trackable named Scareb. Tftc!
With hiking restrictions being lifted on Tuesday, it was nice to finally get back on the trail after more than a month. The dog must have been happy too, as a 12km mountain hike is not the sort of walk she's used to.
The weather this morning was perfect, with the clouds hanging low in the valley as we drove in to Healesville. We were surprised by the number of people already on the trail, but nonetheless relieved to be out again. We also met one bloke who claimed, rather unconvincingly, to be on his fourth lap of the mountain.
This Geocache was a lovely reward once we reached the top, especially since there are no summit views.

I thought a bit of caching was a great way to celebrate the long weekend. So after some gym work on the weekend I decided to tackle a few caches in the area and get some bonus exercise in at the same time. All in all I had a ball, picking up a desired D/T and size types, some unlove and a golden oldie at the last minute. Thanks to the three cache owners for putting in the work and placing these for the community to enjoy.
The views on the way are far, far better than those on offer at the top although, it is the top and therefore is still special.

Great day for a hike after the scorcher yesterday. Nice and peaceful spot up here! Unfortunately no views though. The cache was very easily seen from the track so I covered it in some more sticks. Tftc
Found it! Did the walk on a lovely spring day. Beautiful native flowers everywhere! Great view on the way up too.
Ahh hills, the great leveller.
Dad is a little slower than Master 15 on the flattish first few kms, but the extra lard converted to energy to push up the next section.
Great walk this afternoon - around 2:50 in all.
TFTC and the great exercise.

Visited with grandson. Sewing the geo seed maybe, time will tell. It has been sometime since I did this cache and will always remember it because I picked up my first pathtag. Dropped TB for someone else to find.
This was an enjoyable trek this morning with Traveling butterfly. We made it to this cache and back to the car in 2.5hrs with a nice stopover at the picnic table for a refuel. Thanks hi pressure and Cache Guardians.
Found it !! Bit tricky finding the path up onto Mount R as the last 300m the path starts to descend before you turn sharp right for the final ascent !!
Seeing as we made it to "Half a Riddle" what's another few kilometres. Might as well go to the top. Great aerobic walk! Thanks hi pressure for making us go the whole way!
Went caching with my new caching friend 'Hitachi Angle Grinder' who picked the lock on the gate and I was able to drive within 300 metres from GZ in 20 minutes. very easy find.

If it was that easy there would be more people there since July.
After working for 8 hrs, I drove for an hour and found a lovely place to park. From here I started my meander and I walked very fast, only stopping once to remove my shirts and have a quick drink of water. Still took me an hour and a half to get to GZ.Once at GZ the silence was deafening. What a lovely spot.
Thanks hi pressure

Ah with Bendsinister and thehamfish we strolled up toward the summint to finish off this riddle. Upon arriving I spotted the relatively easy hide whilst the other were transfixed on the cairn on top. Soon signed the log and noticed a pathtag I have never seen before, afterwards we enjoyed the lack of views before heading back to the event for some delicious pancakes. Thanks for taking me to a great spot and thanks for the cache

what it was about.
It was found by others and like so many others we also signed it and now add our name to their achievements.
But all was not lost for another wanted the numbers also and so the bananas returned to the top of the mountain and escorted another to the find. Don't think many others go to that sort of trouble.
And thoroughly worthwhile, as with the Prada car salesman, we had the mountain to ourselves laughing our way back to the cars 6 kilometers away, bathing in the glory of funny reports previously written.

I was up on the hill on a lovely sunny (and chilly windy) day eating pancakes with good friends at the table chairs just back down the trail, and after all that was finished, I decided to scoot up here to grab the cache. As everyone else had already scooted up and found it while I was busy eating pancakes, they all went back down whilst I made my way to the top accompanied by a lone banana.
As we were chitter-chattering along, I wasn't really paying attention to where we were in the scheme of things until the lone banana announced we were at the summit, so as I pulled the phone out to fire up the app, something caught my eye and what do you know, I had the cache in hand and signed my life away.
Then the world famous long distance runner and elevated window washer and I chattered and laughed our way down the mountain recounting each other's amusing logs.
Not a bad spot for a cache at all.

Wandered up to this one with buhfuhguh and the hamfish in the midst of the nearby event. Really dug that leafy ascent to the summit. When we arrived at the top level, I was transfixed by the cairn (cairns friggin' rock!*) and had all but forgotten we were supposed to be looking for a cache. The others basically found it on my behalf. And generously let me sign. Though I don't imagine I'd have struggled particularly if left to my own devices. I picked up the trackable within. Interesting to see so many logs commenting on the relative rarity of this D/T combination - would never have guessed! Thanks again hi pressure and Cache Guardians!

Today being Canadian Independence Day and an event being held at the picnic table up near the summit of Mt Riddell I decided to make the journey down from Wangaratta at stupid o'clock to join the group for a morning hike.
We collected a couple of caches along our travels as well.
After eating pancakes at the event a few of us continued up to the summit to look for this cache.
It was somewhat disappointing that there was no lookout or view but the smell of the gum trees and fresh morning air made up for it.
After a short search the container was located.

After the event nearby headed off to GZ with Jamin Appleford and a Bannana. A short stroll from the picnic table. Once at GZ the search began at the rocks but then gradually zero in on the cache but was finally spotted by Jamin Appleford, so close... Not much to see really. There were some great views seen on the hike up. Really happy to have found this one as it's been on my list for quite some time. A great hike with it taking 90mins from the gate and about 60mins down. Overall stats from FitBit were. 19,000 steps, 14km distance and 221 flights of stairs. Some good numbers.
Thanks for bringing me here today.

A wonderful waltz in the woods
Flew up, flew down
And in the middle, we found
What's hidden
It is easy to specify the individual objects of admiration in these grand scenes; but it is not possible to give an adequate idea of the higher feelings of wonder, astonishment, and devotion, which fill and elevate the mind.

My attention was bought to this spot by the event cache nearby. I decided I would have to wake up too early to drive here and attend the event on time. Instead, I convinced my muggle father to come for a drive and walk today, where we found this cache. TFTC Cache Guardians
After leaving Half a Riddell the track gets steeper and steeper the further you go up. My mantra for the day was "it will level off, it must level off" but it didn't. The going was very slow with short steps and rest times but I finally made it to the top with a fanfare provided by some lyrebirds. Then it was on to the forest trail up to the cairn. I spotted the cache in its hiding hole and signed the log and dropped off a TB. With everything restored it was on to the final task of adding a stone to the cairn. A worthwhile cache if it doesn't kill you. A favourite point from me. Thanks to all concerned.
This was a milestone cache #1400

I thought I might check out the drive and walk times to the Canada Day event in a few weeks time. I took a short break at the picnic table, then headed here for the second cache of the walk. The track from the table to the top was quite soft underfoot - I suspect lyre birds had scratched around in many places.
Once at the top, the cache was quickly found, signed and replaced before heading back to the table. The whole walk up from the car really showed me just how unfit I have become - not enough hill walks I'm afraid - Elwood is too flat.
Thanks again to hi pressure for hiding this cache and giving me the incentive to do the walk.

Over the last few months 88andy88 has been introducing me to geocaching.
Took a while for me to grasp it all and have finally joined up so now i am backtracking logs of the caches i have been to to find with 88andy88....
Thanks for the cache.....
PS: the cut and pastes will stop but as most say Andy writes logs big enough for both of us lol

13/3/17 3:45 pm #2320 Today was the day for myself and my team to come up and tackle this cache. Been on my list for a long time and missed the unloved so decided to wait for a decent day and head up there.
Was a great hike up to the summit and the views along the way were awesome.
Spotted the rocks worth climbing from the last log and thought .... yep must check that out so did the same.
Had a ball and enjoyed the stroll...

I have wanted to climb Mt Riddell for a while now and knowing there were two caches here made it even more worthwhile. After a recent discussion with OHC about the DT's she needed to complete her 2nd loop and this one being on the list I had a look at my own and saw I needed the same DT so we met up in Healsville grabbed some breakfast and headed up the hill. It was an interesting day with the weather varying regularly from sun to drizzle on and off but that just made for fantastic changes in the scenery and kept the climb cool. With a 6km walk each way, 12km round trip, a start elevation of 211m and the top being 781m that's a 570m elevation gain at an average of 8.8% all up or all down. There are no flats or variations on this mountain. I did wonder if OHC would be able to do this after her recent hip surgery. I actually wondered if I'd be able to do it be honest but we kept a fairly steady pace with views to look at, photo opportunities, and a lyrebird to keep the walk interesting. Over all it ended up a 4 hour round trip today but I was happy to stop and enjoy the area and take it all in. Highly recommended. I'd love to see it under snow

Recent discussions about DTs and P81s led to S_38 and I teaming up today to tackle this awesome mountain. After a quick fuel-up of bacon & eggs and the best coffee I've had in a long time, we headed to the base.
The sign showing the distance to top was a little daunting, but we were determined. So with backpacks loaded with snacks and water, we set off.
Wowee! What a lovely walk. Listening to the song of mother nature's sounds, with our footsteps being the drum-beats. Different landscape and views around every corner made for some wonderful photo opportunities.
We finally made it to GZ where S_38 quickly located the cache, and we soon had the log signed and the cache re-hidden.
After a short rest, snacks, and some photos, we began the long walk back to the car. It wasn't easy, but the feeling of accomplishment far outweighed the pain.
S_38 even took the time to climb a monstrous rock for some great pics from up high.
With major hip surgery only 9 weeks behind me, I definitely felt challenged, but I am proud and excited at my returning strength and fitness, and look forward to being able to run up hills like this again one day.
A huge thank you to S_38 for his patience, understanding and company today. Appreciate it.
Thank you for bringing us to this lovely mountain, hi pressure, and thanks for maintaining the cache, Cache Guardians. Keep up the good work.

We were keen to get the cache at the summit so off we went. The track seem to get steeper as we went up and wound around a fair bit to get to the summit. Plenty of wild life along the way. A part from numerous Roos there was a feral cat which we managed to sneak up on within about 5m. A 5ft long black snake on the side of the track (glad the track was still a car width at this point, an echidna and a wild dog. Some good views along the way. On taking the over grown car trail to near the summit we could see the distance stalling in the 75 to 90m range but not getting any closer so with the track starting to dip we were about to make our own track up when we saw the faint marked track for the last 100m or so to the top. As we spotted the summit with its Cairn we saw a spot that looked interesting and there was the cache in good condition. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC. Not much of a view to the thick covering of tall trees so straight back down.
Nice cache that me and my friends dad while climbing up the mountain. We saw a porcupine! He's a photo of it
With an afternoon free from work I made the most of a sunny break and headed out for a mid week exercise session. After getting about half way up the mountain I was thinking that the track so far was reasonably gentle and not too steep but from then it all changed and it was nothing but a steep slog to the top. The last few hundred meters were a little unkept but you can easily follow some orange markers on the trees to the very top. The cache was quickly located and logged and I made the most of a short rest to take a photo and munch on a muesli bar while I caught my breath. Glad to have got this particular cache off my must do list as I get views of this impressive mountain everyday (if it is not under a cloud of drizzle or rain) from work. Will award it a favourite for effort to come and enjoy the great views and much needed exercise all at the same time. Thanks for the cache.

Out tonight on a night hike with TrailStevo. We did the 12K round-trip (2hr) got the legs working pretty hard, spent a fair bit of time puffin and blowing. Thanks for bringing us to this place. Perfect workout for a Tuesday night. Tftc
Found with Zues on a man-caching afternoon. Camping nearby for Easter and this mountain looks like it is there to be ridden. Took mountain bikes almost to the top, last 250m or so is a barely scratched out path which gets little use, very dense summit which afforded no views, but the pile of rocks on top made for a good couple of selfie's. Zues could have done with an energy gel or 10... Ride down was super quick, brakes red hot by the bottom. TFTC hi pressure.
Walked the bikes the last few hundred metres as the track deteriorated to fallen branches & lots of dead fall. Abandoned the bikes completely at the final section & followed the orange triangles to the cairn. What's hidden? Well the view for starters. Not much to visit for other than a cache & a pile of rocks. No log again from bedoj so more unloved. Actually enjoyed the trek in a perverse way but looking forward to the downhill even more.

1st find. Love the walk and the views. Thanks faulksi for intro to this great pastime. Thank also to hi pressure for the cache.
Congrats to the Giliam's for their 1st find. What a great place to get it. I have included a pic of what I had to negotiate on an earlier trip. Timing is everything. Thanks again hi pressure. Left TB.
What can we say..."Riddell do Mt Riddell"
Beaut day for a walk and we needed to do this walk for a bushwalking club activity on our upcoming walks program.
We had a feeling we would be walking in snow and that was confirmed as we approached the saddle.
There was a nice dusting of snow on the trail out to the summit as well.
Thanks for the cache on "our" mountain.

#2061 The things we do to fill in another square on our D/T grid!!!!! - this cache means we have completed our 4x4 grid completely. Yay, and qualifies us for another challenge cache much nearer to our home GZ. Yes, quite a steep walk up from the halfway point as the elevation read 819mtrs at the cairn. SL at 1pm and were thankful to sit and eat our delicious picnic of goodies. We took a couple of photos to prove we made it to GZ. Took: the Oakcoin pin and PT (thanks Stagetree) Left: Joker wildflower card, doll keyring and deer PT. Noticed that this cache is called What's hidden? And our comment to that is THE VIEW for a start!!! The cache did not remain hidden for very long, but we have nestled it back in its hidey hole again. We are glad to report that we made it safely back to the geoHilux just after 3pm which is not too bad an effort for a couple in their sixth decade of life. TFTC hi pressure - not sure how our legs will feel tomorrow, but that is another story!
After a couple of days of rain and wind it was great to get out in the sunshine for a hike with elthamkiwi and find a couple of caches on this hill.
I'd complain about the amount of exercise I got but the truth is I needed it . This is what caching is about. A favourite point from me for sure!
Swapped my PT for the one in the cache.
Cheers hi pressure, thanks for helping me fill a gap in the D/T grid AND gathering 288 days for the unloved challenge but mostly for the great day out.

Dragged my self to the top, 100m from the top of the main track I noticed there was a strange mist or fog coming down. Started to rain as I reached the picnic table. So I put my rain coat on and headed up the side track. [:0] Suddenly there was wild wind ripping at the trees and it started to hail. Not just a little hail but heavy hail. I had read the parks notice just a few moment before about the danger of falling limbs flash floods etc. Well that was it! I turned and hurried out of the trees. Buy now it was raining and hailing with a roaring wind and being by myself I thought the best place for me was down the mountain. I hurried down the mountain got soaking wet and didnt' get a chance to find the cache, so close and all. Down the bottom of the mountain it don't even look like it had rained. My luck some freeky cloud burst just as I reach the top. Maybe I will get enough courage up to try again some day. Other than that the area was lovley and on a good day a great place for a hike. Thanks.

Find # 1407
I came to Healsville today to get some exercise and find a few caches. This is my favourite type of cache. Drive to a location and Walk a good distance to get to the cache.
I has walked quite a distance and the heat of the day was starting to get to me when I arrived at the final track to the summit. So I continued on as I really was not far away now. I arrived at GZ and made fast work of the hide. I sat on the summit cairn, taking a rest and checking the contents of the cache.
I then realised I had dropped my pen somewhere. so I stamped the log book and wrote the date using a small piece of charcoal. I then went to replace the cache and there was my pen
Thanks again to hi pressure for the cache. Took Badge, left another badge.

I then realised I had dropped my pen somewhere. so I stamped the log book and wrote the date using a small piece of charcoal. I then went to replace the cache and there was my pen
Thanks again to hi pressure for the cache. Took Badge, left another badge.
Found whilst in the area visiting family and chasing this elusive Project 81 cache.. at the bottom of the hill I txted a caching mate to say where I was starting, where I was going and when I was due back and with the instructions to call for help if I was late. So it was with low GPS and phone batteries that I headed up here headtorch on but not on, and jogged all the way to the top (bar for a few minutes to sign this one).. Thanks Hi Pressure for the cache and appropriate stars.. I made it up in 54 minutes and down in about 45.. I made my 9pm call in and thus help wasn't required.. thanks philipp for keeping an eye out for me..
My first cache.
What a way to start !!
Thanks to C@H for showing me this fantastic exuse to strap on the hiking boots.

The reason I came here today was for this cache. It is a rare T/D combo. I have a friend who is local and has asked me about geocaching a few times. We have been planing to go out for a while and grab some in his local area. He expected an easy day, perhaps with a few shot walks and home in time for an afternoon beer and a spa. After 3k's and the odd 4k's just walked about badger creek we was beginning to question he choice of how to spend his afternoon.Lucky for me he is a keen bushwalker so we both enjoyed the walk. The views are spectacular where. We where surprised to see a Eye-Fi 3G solar powered camera overlooking the dam at the second viewpoint. It is a shame these is not a lot to see up the top. On the way down an unexpected mountain bike rider passed us on the way up when we where stopped looking at a bush wallaby in the middle of the road. He must of been surprised to see traffic coming both ways. TFTC
Oh my goodness I can't believe I just walked all the way up that freaking mountain, I must be insane. Three hours all up... had an afternoon off work while working in Healesville, and thought hey, why not grab a couple of local caches... so incidentally I was in my work gear! I'd recommend sturdy boots for those attempting this in the future, especially in winter, where the path near the top is pretty damp. Cache in great condition, with its small collection of signatures.
A nice mountain, if huge, and a great workout TNLN TFTC.

I was not out to set any records on this and probably set the longest time on it, I did record my time from top to bottom as 1 hour and 15minutes but going up was well over two hours as I stoped many times to admire some of the views and take plenty of photos along the way, I was surprised to see the cam looking at the dam half way up the mountain. I am still astounded that Marcus did this one before he joined us on Millgrove track, that is one very fit young man. My thanks to hi pressure for the cache. Happy Christmas!
The main reason for my trip out to Healesville today was this cache. The trail description from the internet (12K, 650 vertical meters) and the lack of logs gave me the impression it might be quite hard to complete the cache in the short time I had available. So I gave it all and probably beat all previous times, not that that was ever my intention.
Some of the views along the trail were spectacular and it’s a real shame there is no view from the top. A real anticlimax. Threequarters of the way are fairly wide gravel road, so not too exciting if it weren’t for the views and the wildlife. Glad I didn’t bring the family, the kids would not have been very happy. The last few hundred meters after the plateau were my favourite part of the hike, loved it.
Like wongka I had to sign with a piece of charcoal as I had not brought a pen. Slightly shaky legs when I returned to the car after 1:55h, but plenty of time left to do a few more caches.
I really enjoyed the challenge, great work-out and - D4/T3.5 check

Had been told by quite a few non-geocachers about this one and how easy it was to find, so weren't sure that it would be their. Made the trek up, loved the walk and there it was. Ashame there isn't more signatures in the book, but 6km walk uphill probably explains that.
Interesting that, all the burnt areas where dry on the way up and the unburnt areas where wet.
Thanks for the walk, and the cache.

That was a walk and a half. My girlfriend and I set of at 9am and got back to the car at 12.15pm. When we got to the top I realized that I had left the pen in the car, so I have written in the log book with a burnt stick. All the hill needs is a coffee chop. TFTC TNLN

Found at 1010. FTF! After finding 'Half A Riddle', I looked this one up, and realised that I was already on the right track, so being extremely short of time to meet up with some fellow cachers, I decided that I didn't want to return at a later date just for one cache, so I pretty much ran up the track to GZ. Luckily the weather was picture perfect and not too hot, as the track's incline started to grind away at the muscles in my legs. I looked at the GPS numerous times along the way, and everytime I saw that I headed towards the cache, the track kept on going past it, and doubling back on itself more times than I can remember. It seemed like every 300m I walked, I covered 100m of the journey. The numerous wallabies I saw along the way made a mockery of it by darting off into the bush as a shortcut.
At last, the final 100m were in sight, and surprisingly the track simply disappeared, although the way forward was marked clearly by trail markers. Once at GZ, I enjoyed the surroundings of the wildlife and native birds while I signed the log, and took a couple of minutes to rejuvenate the legs for the run back down. 40 minutes later I was back in the car, to head off to do 'Millgrove Track'.
Thanks hi pressure for a fantastic walk. The track was nice to walk/run on, and there were some pleasant views to be taken in on a really nice day.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
