GZ does in fact appear to be in an area that the public is no longer permitted to enter. Time for this cache to go. (MD)
I wasn’t planning on being in the area today, I wasn’t even planning on caching today..: but life is full of surprises. After an agitating start to the day, the week…. I threw my arms up and went fuck it! I’m going caching. In a rare moment alone, I just drove and followed my car. Collecting a few caches as I went… walked the trails, followed the streams…. And somehow in my meandering I spotted this cache with oh so much unlove! How could I ignore!
Now normally my partner The Welder and I would do these adventures together, but he was somewhat distracted and completely preoccupied with his own thing..: so I decided to go it alone… intrigued by past logs and of course the unlove..
The first fence was just a hop, skip and a jump over (if only I was that elegant) and then the second fence had me pondering… for it did have a sign advising no public access beyond this point. But all was quiet and so passed the fence I went, only to find another obstacle… a massive tree across the track. It looked fairly fresh too! But over I went very ungraciously! The track itself was not too over grown and the walk was pleasant. Although it certainly got the heart racing as the sun beamed down it’s hot rays…
By the time I got to gz, I has certainly worked up a good sweat and then started to search… and search and search.:: so many options, so over grown.:: and despite a thorough look around (balanced by a healthy caution of finding snakes)… I had to walk away without the cache. Damn! I hate leaving a cache unfound… particularly with so much unlove. If The Welder was here, I wondered how long we would persevere…. For we have lingered in the upwards of three hours for a DNF… but not me today. Perhaps it was the thought that the challenge could be set for The Welder and we could return once more. I miss my Welder on adventures like this. It’s always more fun together.
I started the walk back and could hear the sound of wallabies pounding the ground and a chainsaw off in the distance. And as I walked the chainsaw got louder and louder… until I realised that parks Victoria had driven in to tackle the massive tree. Damn! And I am on the wrong side of the ‘no public access sign’ Damn!!
Oh well, so with my cheeriest voice and biggest smile I confidently greeted them and said that they had a big job on their hands! They said a bird watcher had called it in, but expected a much smaller tree and were not so confident that they would even make a dent in the fallen tree. Thankfully my joyful disposition was enough to distract them from the fact I was somewhere I wasn’t meant to be… and so I bid them farewell and wished them luck. Although it wasn’t long before they drove out… their quest too was unsuccessful.
Side note to CO… (cache guardians) with this cache now in an unauthorised area, you may consider moving it to an area accessible by public so it’s not at risk of being archived.
Will keep a watch on cache to see if it turns up.

Looks like its gone and that conditions have changed. We will check it out as soon as we're able. (MD)
Had a lovely wander into the area, so peaceful and quiet. Saw a few wallabies and rabbits, the trickle of the stream. So nice.
Had a good search of GZ, a couple of spots we thought it could've been, but found nothing. Sad to leave without finding it, but having been almost a year since it's been found and all the road closures in the area, a check on this one might be good idea.

After jumping 2 fences to get in here and fending off the deer we finally made it to the GZ. Unfortunately we were unable to find it with the help of the hint we will try again later if others were able to find it
I think we broke the law today going for this cache. We climbed over the gate and had a lovely walk to GZ, sticking to the well defined path. Such a great area and we thank you Cache Guardians.
Headed out with TrailStevo earlier in the week to collect all three
Stop Yelling Beau cache. I have been meaning to get to this lonely traditional cache for a long time, didn't have too much tim eto really explore but picked up the cache and moved on. Managed to get some Giant Bug in the car, which set the car alarm off by moving inside the car, not ideal when you are 200m down the track, in the middle of nowhere and its 10pm. Never mind, freed the little blighter. Then headed to the Yelling Beau multi that we stuffed the co-ord up a few weeks back, not sure how, not that difficult to count letters on a sign! anyway found that one, then picked up the Yelling Beau Mystery cache. I have the co-ords from about 3yrs ago, but didn't spot the correction sum that had gone in on the last visit. Nice straight forward find when you have the correct coords!! Thanks a lot Cache Guardians, im assumingyou have been collecting and maintaining all the cache from owners that have left the game and these cache would have also vanished without your help. Much appreciated! TFTC

Picked up some late night caches with Gunks. Only this series of three tonight but some nice short walks in an area I hadn't been before. TFTC

A maintenance run into the hills? Hell yeah! The (now sitting very low) geomobile didn't miss a beat, with day1976, ~nirgal~, Cliff5009 and myself on board.
This was our first, and a lovely brisk walk to start the day.

A maintenance run in the hills to caches there's no way I'd get to otherwise? How could I resist?
Found (OK, replaced) in the company of OzHockeyChick, Cliff5009 and chauffeured by day1976... A thorough search of the area was made, just in case, with the advantage of one of our number being a previous finder, before adding our names to the replacement.
A lovely little walk to start our caching day, and a welcome chunk of unlove.
Many thanks to hi pressure, and Cache Guardians for their wonderful work in keeping these caches in play.

while on a maintenance run with day 1976, -nirgal-, and ozhockeychick, the cache was missing, but a replacement was at hand, so all signed new log and placed cache back in its home, a very nice walk in to this area, just to get the blood pumping, and warmed up for leeches at a later time
Parked the car and was confronted with signage suggesting walkers and vehicles were no longer welcome in the area. A check on Parks Victoria doesn't say it's closed, but anyway it was, and we acted like lawless rebels by jumping the gate. It's a shame because the the walk in is very quiet and pretty and there doesn't seem to be any reason to restrict the area.
GZ was found and we bumbled around for 15 minutes or so in the heat. We looked in the logical, and some illogical, locations but couldn't find the container. While searching a small deer took an interest in us from across the creek. She too got bored of us searching without a result and moved on. A few minutes later, so did we.
The unlove on this cache brought us out here, but I'm afraid that this cache might need to be retired. Or at least the parking waypoint removed and an alternative found, if one exists.
Thanks hi pressure + cache guardians for the nice location.

It was a perfect day for a stroll through this reserve to pick up this cache. The sun was shining and the birds were singing, and by the time we were down on the creek flat we couldn't hear the traffic at all either. The cache itself was an easy find once we reached gz, and in good condition, and we took a few minutes to just enjoy the atmosphere before heading back to the geotruck. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Searching for love. Well unloved and found it here. Keep to the track saw a fox claw trap warning sign. Nice area.
I've always wondered where the helmeted honeyeaters lived so thanks for showing us. I didn't see one but it was still exciting! Its a very relaxing area as well.
On our way back from GZ we met 2 young volunteers heading out to leave formulated feed for the endangered Helmeted Honeyeaters. We were very impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication. After a brief explaination of why we were there we went on our seperate ways. Thanks hi pressure for the series.
Headed to the gz today after work to grab this cache that has been on my radar for some time now, enjoyed an easy walk to the gz and the cache was quickly located. Thanks hi pressure for the cache and for showing me some of this lovely area which I seldom come past.
This cache has been a bit of a blip on my map. Another one of those ones that I was always too busy when I was driving on by. Well today I wasn't busy. I had the whole day to myself scouring the hills for some event-hides for an upcoming event in July. Lovely walk, spectacular place for a cache, thanks hi_pressure!
Enjoyed the walk along the track to GZ. On my own, but accompanied by lots of different birds. Didn't notice the helmeted honey eater, but a golden whistler was in fine form. Found the cache all in good order. Thanks hi pressure.
Beautiful area! I enjoyed my walk to the GZ....spotted a kookaburra but not sure about honeyeaters. Think I've seen them in Melbourne Zoo but I know it's not the same Thanks for bringing me here today.
Decided I'd find a cache today. Proved to be an easy find in a nice quiet park. Cache was in good order and dry.
Noted signs of recent management vehicle activity on the track nearby and their previous log in the log book.
Thanks hi pressure and parks vic

DSE gate at the road was locked so we had a bit of a hike down the hill, took a wrong turn at the bottom and looked at the buildings. Back tracked and found the trail. Soon had the cache in hand. A great little walk. TFTC
This cache was found during a cache run with Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts (TDC). A nice variety of caches found with some really nice hides. With winter well and truly upon us, much of the caching today was done in wet conditions, especially after the rains recently. Many thanks to the cache owners for placing the caches we found.
Another fantastic day of caching. The Demolition Crew headed to the Dandenongs and even a bit further. We found caches in the rain, and the wet, we even had leech action.... None of it stopped us, but the GPSr's played up a treat. We had good day though, lots of laughs, and some top finds. My thanks to all the cache owners for their cache placements.
On the day after a huge winter storm passes over Melbourne members of The Demolition Crew headed east to the Dandenong Ranges and beyond to grab a few caches in the rain and wet. With the wet and overcast weather the GPSr's were all over the place. It was a great time even in the weather. Thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements and maintenance.

Well, four days after being published, "A Dry Log" still had no found logs against its name and although I doubted this one was still un found, I decided to give it a go anyway and then grab some other older caches in the area which I had not yet had a chance to find.
This series of three caches I have wanted to attempt for some time, but had not been close enough for the small detour. After finding the first two of the series, I drove around to another section of this park to find this one. I beautiful little walk after rain, I even saw a kangaroo along the way. Once at GZ, the hide was quite simple and found quickly. There was a log in the log book from a couple of people from parks Vic, I have attached a picture.
Thanks to hi pressure for the cache. TNLN

Had lunch at nearby Parslows bridge and decided to find this cache. Great to see the re-vegetation work happening around the area. I used to fish in the creek around here for trout, BIG blackfish and even redfin. It was the "olden days". TFTC
We'd had a go at this one about a month ago. Feeling like a walk, we parked just near Beenak Road, wondering whether there might possibly be a track along the reserve to the cache. Well.... There was. Eventually. Only, it had been a pretty rainy week. And patches of this 'track' disappeared beneath deep, soggy, muddy puddles. And before we found this vague track thing, we first had to walk calf-deep through wetland type grass.
Oh well! We actually did make it all the way to the scout hall or whatever that building is. Then we found a track that seemed to more or less head in the direction of the cache. It was wet (are we surprised?) And then, 200m from the cache, it disappeared. Soggy wetlands everywhere. Sigh. We almost went for it, anyway (soaked anyway - what's another couple of hundred metres?), but then we read some of the logs and got the impression that there was going to be another track.
Given that it was starting to rain again, and we still had about a 2.5km walk back to the car, we aborted at this point, cutting back up to the road (and finding the track we SHOULD have taken) and hightailing it before the storm.
Anyway, a nice sunny day today so we had another go. This time we parked as suggested and had no problem finding GZ.
TFTC - nice area!

Found around late arvo on my way to visit family further north east.. Thanks Hi Pressure for the cache.. I enjoyed the walk in, it broke up the drive nicely.. My last visit (close to) here was to find a WP of another of your caches.. Todays trip was a little wet under foot.. However carefull as she went and I managed to stay cleen and mostly dry.. Thanks for the cache.. Dipped a highly pressured travel bug ro mark find # 3090
Wow, we didn't realise that it hadn't been found since march before us.

Find number 5 out of 5 for today.
Another nice easy find although the maps on my gps had the tracks all wrong so had to guess a bit which way to go.
Made a start on the nearby Time Waste cache but will save that one for another day.

Found by edmil & maddie. We were out for a bit of a drive and decided to grab a cache or two. I had the GPS up and running and this one and another just happened to come into view. I initially thought it was just going to be a drive-by but as it turned out it wasn't. The weather wasn't looking too good so there was a bit of a debate as to whether or not to go for the it. In the end we decided that the walk would do us good. We parked and Maddie took off down the track. I got about half way down and couldn't recall locking the car so I wandered back up the track again to check. Maddie just kept on a wandering and I had to call her back to make a course adjustment. the track was a bit wet but we managed to get through to the cache without getting a soaking and the weather was nothing more than a slight drizzle. At GZ the cache was a quick and easy find. I grabbed the silver star and left a memory card adapter. Thanks for the cache and for a great walk. we ended up walking about 3km there and back, with a bit of a side trek to check out the nearby multi. Our Micro compass rose geo coin also dropped by for a visit.
Found this one as the 3rd cache of 6 successful finds with Irontoad today. We also started the cache nearby but have yet to complete that one.
We initially went completely the wrong way and Irontoad tried to lead me astray. I was glad that I was listening to my instincts that said the cache was on the other side of the river and once we found the correct trail - the cache was a relatively easy find. Apart from the mosquitoes trying to eat us alive - it was a really successful cache find. Took nothing and left star and signed log. Thanks for introducing us to another area that I wouldn't have known existed apart from caching hi pressure.

Found with Kmace. We first went looking for clues to another cache and took the wrong path. Arriving about 200M from the cache we were faced with a swamp. Being a toad, I wanted to continue, but wiser minds councelled backtracking and trying a different path. This we did and ended up finding the cache right were it was meant to be. A great spot for plants and animals. I now know more than I wanted to about the helmeted honeyeater. Kmace tried to improve the habitat, but we could do nothing about the squadrons of mossies pestering us.

Started out collecting some information for another cache near by and then started to walk towards this one. It was by sheer luck that within mintues of walking down this track at the car parking spots in the park that I came across a group of muggles coming back from a bird watching trip I assume. One of the muggles mention that the gate would be closed in 30 mintures as they were leaving due to the humid weather. So I walked back to the car and moved it to the recommended parking spot for this cache. Upon driving back I notice another track and closer inspection of the car gps map suggested that this was the correct track to take. Well 15mins later I was at the cache, yay!! Nice hide too. Was back in the car just as the muggles were leaving. TFTC hi pressure, now to find the others in the series.

Nice walk but a bit wet in places after the recent rains. Mr Sunrise found this one (Mrs S found the previous 2) TNLN TFTC
Like the time that I got the other two in this area, and once before that, I brought my binoculars with me but no Helmeted Honeyeaters were to be seen. A recent report holds out some hope but it is still a long way back for them.
Cache was found easily after a most enjoyable stroll nonetheless, thanks hi pressure.

Sorry for the late log, I've let a few slip lately. Anyway, I was enjoying a bit of a drive out in this part of the country and I figured I could get this one and make a start on the nearby Time Waste cache at the same time. It was a lovely afternoon for a walk in the woods and I carried my camera in the hope that I'd see some wildlife (but all I managed was a field full of cows!). I don't know if the track down to the hall is usually open, but it wasn't today so I had a somewhat longer walk to get to the first wp of the TW cache, after which I headed along the track to pick this one up on the way back.

Quick find. There was some road closed tape over track but believe this applies to vehicles, as a bridge is out up further. TFTC. Took Sheila the sheep and left RAF travel bug.
Nice little spot. Managed to get the pram to GZ fairly easy - twice actually, as I remembered that I signed in the log that I'd dropped off "Sheila the Sheep" TB only after I made it half way back over to "Time Waste #2", so had to go back and actually pop her in the pen. Took tree and left toy soldier.

Nice walk on a changeable afternoon after wedding rehearsal. Had a chat with a friendly ranger on the way down Shield Road, startled a kangaroo on the track to GZ. Nice hide, good location. Took all four TBs, left plastic tree from NZ. Thanks for bringing us to this pleasant spot. Quick shower of rain failed to dampen the spirits.
We found this cache at 1:05pm as the 4th of 18 on our Olinda to Gembrook Ramble. After lunch at the general store in town, we headed back for this cache. We missed the entrance and had to U-turn back but it was a fairly quick correction. Another pretty part of the area. Our 117th 3TF. Thanks from D & S B-A.
A slight detour off route and a short walk and the cache was another FTF, there were plenty of birds in song in this area. My Thanks to hi pressure for the cache.
