Us stopping confused the girls just walking past and they came back to ask if we were ok. Once they headed off again we wandered over for the find. The log seems fine to me considering its age and location - a bit damp and mouldy but still ok to sign. Always pleased to find one of these older caches TFTC #8726
Its Easter & have teamed up with The Seagnoid & Zara, for a magical mystery tour, exploring the amazing West Coast. Its Saturday and we are off exploring again, heading towards Hokitika. Good views. The Seagnoids find. Cheers
On a big Easter caching mission with ZaraBus and TaybeeDragon. Lots of crawling through mines, climbing hills, walking through bush. And yet we only covered a tiny bit of the West Coast, between Greymouth and Hokitika.
An easy find, but the log is damp and manky. Desperately needs replacing.

We are down on the coast for the weekend and had a message to do in Hokitika so naturally some geocaching was included.
Heading 'homeward' again we detoured round the loop road for another few caches. We made this one harder than we needed to but found it after a few minutes.
Thank you Bitsprayer.

Think we need a new container here, its getting just a bit too wet. Good hiding place though. Had to look twice in the same place to find it.
Nice view from up here. No need to go down the bank - just get on your needs and get your hands 'dirty' After the find I turned the car around and had a slightly belated lunch up here with a view to the ocean

6756. Out for the day geocaching from our base in Kumara to Lake Kaniere. This was cache number five
of twenty one for the day. An interesting cache not far off the main road. The goat was on duty. not sure about the terrain rating on a rainy day with very slippery grass and a steep bank nearby! Took a bit of searching. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.

Found as I neared my overnight rest stop after having cycled 54km of the West Coast Wilderness Trail. Not too sure how this cache got it's name. Nothing leaning at GZ. The problem was to find the hint object. Found an overgrown smallish thing and felt blindly behind it. Gee, that's feels like something smooth down there. The cache contained a quantity of water so I dried it and replaced the torn baggie.
Awesome view said hello to DA goat found cache now time to go home b 4 bk to work tomorrow
Here we are on the West Coast and Bitsprayer's caches have extended this far. This took a far bit of hunting to find. Fluffyduck38 risked life and limb by sticking his hand into the obvious hole and came up trumps. A bit too much gorse near GZ for my liking. TFTC
Thank goodness there are no snakes in NZ. I was allowed to check this one out ... no one else was keen !
I did not like the gorse here so I thought it best that fluffyduck38 retrieved the cache. TFTC
Doing a wee Detour on our way back Home.Log damp and sadly was to thick for us to dry out.
Nice views.TFTH

It took us absolutely ages to locate this cache, but eventually we managed to find the combination of name, terrain and hint to extract the cache through the gorse. TFTC
A quick find on the way to Greymouth this morning once I had sussed the correct route to it. Signed log, TFTC
Didn't linger - the neighbour's dog kept asking what we were doing, in a very loud voice!!! The plastic bag needs replacing ... sorry, didn't have one today. TNLN. TFTC.
Far out! Was so in wrong place to start with. Terrain rating the key here. Finally found it after alot of unnecessary searching and cursing lol. tftc
Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...
Im loading all my finds from my Alpha Males (aka GenCuster) logs, where he deigned to remember that I was with him... As if he could forget...10/01/13 13:50

10/01/13 13:50 Decided that we actually had to get somewhere today so skipped the beach walk and drove here's. Rosmar's had the right idea. JC Cache Dawg watched HM slip to the likely(?) GZ. See The CO had a sense of humour placing this cache. Gotta trust that GPS... Cheers, GC.
Looked in the wrong place first then after checking the terrain rating it turned out we were in the wrong place. Cache soon located once at GZ TFTC.
Oh No! Our holiday is drawing to a close. Day 18 and travelling from Hokitika to Greymouth today. Again no rain but a little overcast. Still nipping around in our little Corolla, Geo Hire Car with Flags flying - Getting noticed everywhere we go. lol....
Checked out of our accommodation and before leaving town decided to pick up a few local caches as we headed off.
Well we had trouble with this First of all TomTom didn't know about the road so we had to use the Garmin to get here. Mr Felix jumped out of the car for the quick grab whilst Mrs Felix turned the car around! But then all she saw was Mr Felix disappear.... his feet slipped out from under him and she screamed thinking he had fallen 50metres below
Luckily it was only a slide on his bum, but a fright for both of us. A thorough search followed and no cache was revealed, well after that little embarassment, he didnt want to log a DNF so back to the car for a torch and another search!
Damnit but no smilie could be found. Lots of movement and mudslides in the area after recent rainfall, we can only hope he isn't blind and the cache needs maintenance?

GPS giving a funny GZ. Looks like others have had the same issue. Found the smiley in the end. A nice view from GZ. Thanks for the view
We to are guilty of assuming the obvious !!!! then trusting our GPS I managed to locate the cache quickly signed log thanks for the cache and bringing us here - it truly does lean
Once again we assumed only to be bitten and have to trust the GPS and find the right place TFTC
A nice pleasant cache to start the day with. A couple of goats nearby were interested in my activities Cheers Gav [9494]
Once we realised it wasn't near the obvious spot, we rechecked the GPS and found. TFTC
No view in this drizzle. Got off to a bad start by searching around the very obvious leaner. TFTC
6089 A nice view and find, while leaning in Havill, nearly busted by nearby muggle resident out for an evening walk, TFTC
A quick find after pretending to have a lawful reason to be scrambling around in the bush when a local resident left for work. Thanks. Hatas
you gotta have the odd random cache to make a smile. bonus, room to turn the c/van.
Found with gracie7. Decided to start geocaching so I am logging all old finds. TFTC
Beautiful day on the way home from Hokitika. Found by my sister and nephew while I went to look under the wrong tree (Note to others - dont go down the cliff) TOOK Nothing but LEFT - Eraser. TFTC
great quick and easy find with ribsc and bluejean also had houza in the truck as they had previously done this one
Another great find on our trip to the West Coast while visiting New Zealand from Florida. Bit reluctent at first , but then realized ther are no snakes. Having a great time. Thanks
Nice One!!!!!!! Picked this one up during an evening cache hunt. GPS indicated elsewhere; however,a logical location was evident and a quick find was made. West Coast weather has been great, so no worries. Much fun. Thanks
Found quickly, in spite of the other logs (pays not to read them sometimes). Always interesting to tour the backblocks. TFTC
Much like Annie and PB the previous day I pulled up at the GZ and headed for the much larger object and began an extensive hunt (cause, like there was plenty of evidence others had done the same). After a bit of a look around and no result, looked at the GPS and went DUH! Moved 10m to where the GPS said zero was and found it straight away. TNLN Thanks
NOT such a quick drive-by this time, as we got distracted by another 'leaning' and scrabbled down where we need not have gone. After a little bit of head scratching, we read the terrain rating and decided we were in QUITE the wrong place! Went back up, and followed the GPS in the direction of another feature, where we we more successful. TNLN TFTC
Ran into the land owner here, who's wife had been seeing people with torches during the previous night. Explained what was going on, and hopefully put some fears at ease. TFTC.
My very first Geocache!
Thanks to BK&J for letting me use the GPS, well, steal it LOL I was on crutches, but we found it anyway, after he listened to me tell him where the GPS was pointing, and retrieved the cache

Naturally I followed the obvious trail and probably glad it was dark so I couldn't see below this. My fellow cacher then gave a wee call and I realised I had done it yet again!.
Thanks

How does the cache owner find the time to drive 500+km to an event and also place two caches as well? Glad you did though as their release worked in well with our evening activities. Checked the wrong spot first as we hadn't seen the T rating, hopefully noone follows our geotrail there. TFTC.
Until this moment, we had a decidedly average day's caching, but due to the cacheplacingmaster, we suddenly found ourselves in the running for a couple of night FTFs. People back in Nelson would be rolling their eyes about now, but Team Night Rider did it again TFTC #CS#
