Logs
On our bustrip from Queenstown to Christchurch we had a lunchbreak here. After eating we walked over this bridge towards the church and logged this cache while passing by. TFTC
Primo day for a little road trip over from chch, even managed to beat the buses. Grabbed a few caches in town then a short sharp hike up the hill and finally a (very quick) swim in the lake.Spent far too long examining the wrong railings until I realised the other was in fact metal and not wood duh! Hint was spot on.Some workers were down in the riverbed pumping water from the lake into the river. Does anyone know why?
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had been staying in mid-Canterbury enjoying some of the DoC Campsites but were now moving into the Mackenzie Country area needed to find a cache today, so we went for a walk around Tekapo & down to the supermarket for some supplies did the Ad Lab on our way & decided for this one on our way back while there were a lot of muggles around, it ended up being an easy find, log-book signed, cache was returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,522 for us!
First time in New Zealand and made my way to Lake Tekapo, which took me to the cache "Tekapo waters (Canterbury)" (GC21T9R). This was a very easy find and a not-so-quick grab, given the crowds of people passing through. I just had to tie my shoes a bit...So yeah, the biggest challenge is not being spotted, but once you get there it's a fun grab.Anyway, thanks to La Vista for the cache! Found with Salfina, who doesn't have a pen.Take care and much love from San Francisco!
Happy New Zealand trip with geocaching.A pity were with muggle friends and cant visit as much as geocaches as we like. I appreciate all the caches we passed and visited. Thanks, La Vista, for the cache. Greetings from Taiwan.
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay. After a great few days in and around Christchurch its time to head to Twizel for the night with a detour via Mount Cook.So Day 4 of my Mega NZ trip begins and Im on my own again so lets go find a few more caches along the way.Arrived at Lake Tekapo and went for a wander around the area.I walked over the foot bridge and came back over this one, the road bridge. Now there was a couple of ways to count this regarding the new and the old but I got this one first go.Now to get back to the Geoloancar and keep on moving. Thanks La Vista TFTC.
Found with Gazania Rigens after a recount and a little electronic probing! All in good order and replaced as found.TFTC
We forgot to count on the way to GZ, so I sent Zouave back to the start of the bridge. Not sure if he counted wrong or someone had moved the cache to a different spot, but I eventually found it with the help of my phone's camera. Walking across bridges with raging waters below always makes me feel a bit dizzy. Luckily there was a lovely bench under an apple tree with pretty blossoms on the other side. TFTC!
Checked, on our way out to grab some dinner and walked right by the cacheTFTCCoop2000Minnesota, USA
Going around NZ I am looking for some caches. This one was easy to find. Thanks
Found this cache with Ramakristan, good hint if not no chance of find it.TFTC to Co.
After a good night sleep at Lake Tekapu, breakfast in our room & later packed & checked out & me & my geo wife Pomegranate, we went straight to find caches here. 1st one to find was on the main road bridge. Yes traffic can be fast & furious crossing over, do be careful folks. Checking the coordinates of this cache, it is in the middle of the bridge & slowly we walked to the middle & checking the hint, we counted & found the cache but extra careful retrieving the cache & returning it as well, a mistake can see the cache into the water. TFTC to Co, a very good spot for a cache.
Only my 2nd Cache found in NZ and Ive been here 4 days. Need to get a move on. What a wonderful and beautiful place this is, with the lake changing colour with the light. Tfc
Nice quick find here today read previous logs so put in New log sheet. Tftc wonderful area great views tftc
Sadly the log paper inside was badly damaged we have no choice but to log on a piece of tissue we have... Remember to bring your own paper!
Found while on an explore around Lake Tekap. The younger cachers liked finding this from the clue. New log needed. TFTC.
Found by minicacher #2 who has asked to be known as Junior M henceforth. We found at what we calculate as 20-1 not 20-2. Returned as we found it not feeling qualified to adjust. Tftc
went out early morning before the sun rose to avoid people, counted according to the hint and bingo! it was so dark I had to use my phone's flashlight! tftc
I nearly missed it. So many people. Bigger than I expected. This is gorgeous scenery
Great hiding spot for a cache! Had to wait for several people to pass though before being able to retrieve it. Thank you for placing it
Counted to find the hint - but no luck. We had to leave so we didnt have a good look around. Beautiful town. I was surprised to find that there are caches in the lake!
Pleased to chance a dnf to a smiley after a few years. All depends on the zero point. TFTC
A quick find this morning before breakfast. It was only a few seconds from our hotel for the night. Tftc

TFTC. killing time finding caches before the hot pools open. Learned a little about the area as well.
A little walk around town before some hot tubs to work off yesterday's Mt Cook walks.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. This yesterday morning we arrived in Christchurch and had a nice tour through the city. Today we are already leaving Christchurch. We are driving to Mount Cook. Since it is not a long drive we spent this morning in the beautiful botanic gardens. In the afternoon we are on our way to our destination. We make a stop every now and then to stretch our legs. Here we had a stop also. We simply could not restist this beautiful place. The cache was found without any problem. Thank you very much for this cache.
We arrived in Christchurch yesterday for our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia. Today we travel to Mount Cook. Before we continued, this cache was also found.**La Vista**, thanks for the cache.
Just arrived at our destination here and enjoyed this friendly welcome! Thanks for the Cache!
4-week family trip through NZ - Find #137!The hint was perfect , so we could make a quick find here.TFTC!
Well, the hint was VERY specific... and the cache was EXACTLY where the hint said. Thanks for making this relatively easy.
We left Queenstown heading for Christchurch and then the West Coast, our first stop was in Cromwell, and then we headed over to Lindas Pass to see the views. Next up lunch in Omarama, and then we came here to Lake Tekapo for a cache and a very breezy lake.Nice container and hiding spot, the hint helped a lot. Thanks for the cache owner for hiding, our first cache in an extremely windy Lake Tekapo.TFTC from the UK.
Nice placement, thanksI messaged the last people who didn't find it to tell them it had not been replaced correctly, which is probably why they couldn't find it, because it's a very easy find, if you know that sometimes people don't put it back exactly where they find it or even according into what the hint says
Aprs une recherche en essayant d'tre discret, il y a beaucoup trop de monde, on abandonne , dommage.
Needed to have a little patience here and wait for a big group to pass then made the find.TFTC
