We are back in Tekapo for a few days before I embark on the A2O bike trail. As its leap day and I see there is a souvenir up for grabs - I had pop back up this hill to get my 4th for the day.Legs were screaming not quite recovered from a 4hr hike 2 days ago. I arrived at a sign 40odd meters from the cache that said no admittance between 5pm and 8am and naughty me was out of these hours but climbed over anyway. I hope I wasnt being observed from the observatory?I made a very quick find (phew!) and darted off over the style.TFTC
Perfect location, good size hide, I could see it from the trail so covered with a few more rocks, visiting from Prescott Arizona USA thanks for placing and maintaining
Found this quickly after a circumnavigation of the summit under a cloudless blue sky, what a fantastic walk, tftc.
This morning as I drove past on the main highway Mt John was shrouded in cloud so I flagged the plan of finally heading up there and carried on. However, by the time I had walked to and found a couple of caches in the bike park on the opposite side of the lake and had something to eat in the township the cloud had lifted and the sun was shining so up I headed. Gorgeous views along this track - stunning blues and greens toward the lakes and brown and arid in the opposite direction here. TFTC # 20,884

We were staying in Tepako for a couple of days. Today we drove out to St.Johns and had a wander around the top picking up the caches. It was a lovely view up here, well worth paying the toll to get here. The weather was lovely, although as we were leaving all of sudden t we had very wild winds and all the high sided vehicles in the car park were rocking. People were unable to open their car doors. Once we descended down we noticed they closed the road for traffic wanting to visit Mount John. TFTC
Gemeinsam mit *jezebella* auf einer schnen Runde bei herrlichem Sonnenschein ohne Probleme gefunden. DFDC!
Thanks for showing us this amazing views. We did the walk track around Mt John and found the others on the hill.
Drove up the hill to check go out the views. Pity the cafe was closed (though advertised as a day it was open). Luckily the views are good and caches are an attraction. Great views on a beautiful clear sunny day. TFTC
We drove up to the observatory this afternoon and went for walk around to find some caches and enjoy the views. A quick find here with no one around, until Mrs nzk was replacing the cache, when two tourists suddenly appeared on the track, greeted her, and offered to take her photo!! Haha. All good with the cache, TFTC La Vista.
A nice walk at Mount John.
