Chewbacca72 and I are traveling during 4 months through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. A few caches that are on our way should not be missing. This cache is one of them. Many thanks to steeba for this very interesting earthcache, for showing us this great spot and for the log permission. + 1 FavoBest regards, searchersab
A short walk to the south from parking gave us access to the rock platform on a very windy day. We found the fossil in the description pic and lots more in the area.Answers sent to the very responsive CO who quickly gave us permission to log.A genuinely fascinating earthcache! Thanks, steeba, and a favourite from me!
#7872We're on an LGA hunting road-trip, chasing bare LGAs from Shoalhaven to Wagga and beyond. Today we heading down to Bega, trying to squeeze in as many fun caches as we can into the long trip. Great weather - cool and dry. This was great - we found several fossils - the best one shown below...Thanks for the cache!
#7872Day One of our Southern NSW trip. Home > BegaAn early start today and were on the road, targetting whatever DTs, attributes and types we want. end of copy paste So cool to see the fossils here on the rockshelf, found a few big fossils around and gathered some answers. Certainly worth the time, FP!Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache steeba
The location was amazing and my family and dog loved it, thanks for bringing us here.
This was such a cool beach! It was really windy as a storm was rolling in so the waves were quite big and splashing up pretty high over the beach rock - as such I only spent a little time down at the beach and kept a careful eye on the waves. TFTC, this was an absolutely beautiful location to visit! This one earned a favorite.
Not the best day for being on the rocks but the little fella enjoyed it still. Found this little fossil. Thanks!
Now on my way south from Sydney.
I found a bivalve fossil, 4x5 cm.
Thanks for the cache

A quick trek to Gerroa to grab this Earth cache to earn a new souvenir. I made the made dash before the weather got too wild. I'd never walked down the path before always stayed up top. Thanks for bringing me here.
Dropped by with geofamily on route from Sydney. A beautiful day so wandered out on to rocks around headland and located a rang of fascinating fossils. Thanks for the geology lesson.
Day 13 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives before continuing south for a loop around the Snowy Mountains. From there we headed towards Eden to commence the run north towards home following along the coastline.
After staying the night in Mollymook I headed out early this morning to visit a couple of local earth caches before moving on to a stroll around the One Track For All. Continuing our journey north I called in for a visit to this earth cache late afternoon.
My first battle was trying to find a way down to GZ. My first few attempts revealed nothing but a steep drop off but some further exploration south of my location proved fruitful and I was soon on the rock shelf walking to GZ. The tide wasn't exactly favourable but low enough to do some searching. Took a while before I spotted my first fossil. After taking some photos I found a steep but manageable shortcut back to the car. TFTC

It was great to be able to finally find this Earth Geocache. Last time I tried the weather was just too awful. Couldn’t have got a better day than today with the tide right too. The biggest fossils I have even seen. TFTC
A favourite place to explore. We discover something new every time. We think we found some fossils...
The biggest fossil I have ever seen! Kids and I very much enjoyed the walk and expose through the rocks and rock pools!
Visiting from the mountains of NE Vic so today was a treat! I had a great time wandering around finding fossils. Also lucky enough to meet the huge excited enthusiasm of a young boy, and then later, a local around the other side who seemed to know plenty about fossils and enjoyed being a ‘tour guide’Around the other side with my new acquaintance, I also saw plenty of ‘Stromatolites’ and in one area, interesting ‘tree’ remnant fossils - TFTC and the FUN! A fave for location
Down at the coast for a few days. Took some time to chill and check out the fossils. Saw a great series of three. Info sent to CO. TFTC Steeba
This place is amazing! We love fossils and were so happy to find this cool spot. Thanks for lending us to it.
The sea was looking menacing, so I kept my eye on it as I walked around the rocks to GZ. Whoops! Wrong car park. Just added 600 to 700 metres to the walk!
Along the way I saw some crabs and some clam-like things stuck in rock. But were these fossils? I dunno. At GZ I did see fossils, so I took some happy snaps for the record.

After visiting Gerringong, myself and my Mum also wanted to check out Gerroa as our last stop this afternoon before the drive back to Canberra. We used this Earthcache as a guide as I knew it would take us to the beautiful part of this town, and I wasn't wrong! After following the windy streets to the end of the headland, we parked and headed down to GZ.
I spotted a track that went straight down, but my Mum wasn't keen so stood at the top and watched instead I walked around on the rock shelf for 10 minutes, looking for fossils which I took a few photos of.
Sent a message to the CO for the requirements and got a response before I even had time to log, thanks for that steeba! Impressive location and a great Earthcache, thanks for bringing me here!

Hello from the US. Had wonderful day being shown around by friends from Bulli. Answers sent and photos posted. Thanks for the fun!
Attended the GeoMuster Event at the for about 24 hrs before succumbing to the flu and headed to motel accommodation, firstly at Appin and then at Gerroa. Managed to get out to get some sea air and do this earth cache. Many thanks to the CO.
This site is amazing. I could have stayed for an hour and taken pictures of them all. TFTC
Found what looks like a horizontal cross section of a tree stump about the size of a dinner plate
Beautiful morning walk, with a delayed sunrise and a high tide it was a little tricky to find the fossils, but I did find a couple of very big sponges! Continuing around the point as too many waves were breaking on GZ, I found many more fossils (much smaller) and a small beach entirely made from crushed shells. TFTC!!!!
On our way from Sydney to Batemans Bay. Very windy day! Had the place totally to ourselves - very cool. We were sheltered as we approached GZ and passed lots of drop stones. Then we were almost blown off our feet as we rounded the headland. Then we started seeing the fossils. Amazing! All sizes, all shapes. Absolutely excellent! A favourite from us! TFTEC Cheers... Gaztek
Found this one during my trip from Sydney to the Royal National Park (Figure 8 Pools...) and then along the coastline down to Hyams beach and Bendeela Camping grounds (to see the wombats). Nice area but quite chilly there! So I just made a short stop here to see the fossiles and then continued heading south. Thanks for the cache, I would have not seen this area without GC!
I seem to have missed logging this Earthcache. I did receive CO permission and thought I had logged it. I loved coming here. Whilst here I passed a few parties of people and struck up a conversation about the fossils, one of them was a local, and none of them had noticed the fossils.
This Earthcache not only helped me realise this wonder, but helped others enjoy it too.

On our way south ElizaBennet and I visited this interesting place. Thanks a lot for showing to steeba.
We picked a good day for the visit and also the tide. Plenty of fossils to look at of various sizes and shapes. Answers sent and photo attached. TFTEC

Beautiful and very impressive place; fortunately it was low tide and we were able to have a good look around. Another very enjoyable earthcache, thank you.

Found this wonderful site on a visit to friends in Kiama, he just happens to be a geologist who knows this area well and pointed out all types of fossils as well as the easily spotted basalt bombs which were ejected from the volcano to land on this layer of sediment.
Geokid 7&8 found lots of fossil shells and sponges. Our first earth cache and we will definitely do more after this one. TFTC!

DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, Murri24 and I made this year a very great tour together. Our first target is Melbourne. So we started early in the morning to visit the city and to make a few geocaches. We found very nice locations and interesting spots. One day we rent a car. Very early in the morning we drive from Melbourne City over Geelong to the Great Ocean Road. Along this road we found so much interesting spots, we see a great landscape, and had have not enough time for sightseeing. The weather was fine but a little bit windy. This day was very long and hard, but wonderful.
After that we visit the Grampians. A little bit rain, a little bit windy and a little bit sunny day, we had fasten all weathers. We visit waterfalls, canyons, sandstone fomations and any Look Outs. Puhhh, what a great landscape.
The next part of our journey is to explore the Outback. From Ayers Rock we take a car and drive over Kings Canyon and many other Look Outs to Alice Springs. We visit any very interesting Caches and had a great time by comfortable temperature.
Now we drive from Melbourne over Canberra, Batemans Bay, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Sydney. We want to see so much as possible of this part of Australia. Today we started in early in Batemans Bay. We drive along the coastline and visit any Earthcaches. So we saw any nice beaches and romantic places. Once more we visit great locations.
This Cache was one of my favorite Caches, wich I would visit in Australia. Thank you very much for showing. This theme was very interesting. I have learned a lot over the australian geology.

Together with Team "GER-17" (consisting of murri24, der Eifelaner & dieFraudiemitmuss and me) I was able to find this Cache while going up the NSW coast with a rental car.
Such a lovely part of the coast! So many beautiful beaches!
I'll definitely have to come back and spend more time on each of them!
Thanks a lot for this Cache!
The answers were already sent by der Eifelaner and are hopefully ok.

Sent my answers off. Such a beautiful location, I never thought that I would see fossils naturally in the Greater Sydney Region. TFTC #teamscrubs
From Nowra, I decided to travel home via the coastline to pick up any roadside caches that I had left to do. Ended up finding 4 caches after the sun went down.
Thanks for the extra few for the day!
Notable mention: Doing this one after dark was interesting! I found 2 different fossils and took photos of them with my pen as a reference point for measurement.
Thanks for the Earthcache Steeba

Staying nearby so brought the kids down to look for fossils. Group set about the task enthusiastically and soon had several examples to photograph and describe. Thanks for placing an interesting earthcache.
Stopped along the way from Wollongong to Lake Conjola
Found some imprints of shells, as well as a few sponge-like fossils.
Glad we stopped, a very interesting spot

We visited this spot at low tide as the seas were angry this week. Saw quite a few fossils, once our eyes got accustomed to what to focus on. TFTC
Needing a cache for the day to keep my streak alive. Beemyshell, The BOY & I were in the area swimming. Great location & a fun Earthcache...
Finally found the time to sit down and log this find. Out with Geo Kids, Bluewattle Junior and Bluewattle Mini. Day was very overcast with light showers. Always beware to have correct footwear on when venturing out. As you may go A.O.T.
We had a great holiday in Australia, and saw lots of fantastic places. The Australian coastline is superb, with a great variation from beautiful beaches to spectacular geological features. On our drive south along the coast, we also stopped at Black Head at Gerroa. We found several different fossils here, what a fascinating place! I was amazed at the level of detail you can still see in some of the fossils, and they look so delicate! Thanks for placing an earthcache at this special place!

Found it. A large 15cm Branchiopoda fossil was found. Geocaching husband and our little dog Mikayla hunting for fossils.
Lots of different types of fossils along the rock shelf. Found one almost the same as the one in the COs picture plus others. I have seen these types of fossils in other platforms as well along the coast.

This is a very good EC to visit. The area is spectacular. We all enjoyed the experience of finding fossils here. Many thanks for setting it up. Logged with Permission.
A great day out heading from KV towards the coast and caching along the way. After a ginormous lunch at the Gerroa Fishermans Club I was in dire need of a walk! So headed down and collected a few local caches including this one. Great fossils as there are in many locations around here and tons of bluebottles today. I even managed to spot one get back into the water, or get swept back in...it happened so fast I am not sure....but then swim off. It all happened before I could get any video of it but for a land-lubber that rarely visits the coast that was awesome.
Heading south with JJCC to explore the South Coast via caches locations. Having visited Wollongong the previous day, we spent the night in Gerringong and after grabbing a bite to eat this morning headed for Gerroa to visit this Earthcache.
Parking in the provided car parking area we made our way down to the rock shelf and walked over towards GZ. Luckily on our visit today the waves were not breaking over the rock shelf so we made a quick find of several fossils at GZ - spectacular. From here we spread out and made some interesting finds, particularly of the brachiopod type. All up we enjoyed a good solid hour exploring the rocks before we moved on for some more cache adventures on the South Coast. Enjoyed our visit.
