Speed mistress has asked me to look after her caches while she is os, I would have disabled it but I don't have access to do that.

24-Jun-12
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

We got the same reaction from the lady in the house as The Larrikin Lads did, when we tried to do this one early June. She was quite annoyed about geocachers visiting to find the cache and told me to get off the land immediately. She states all the land including where the cache is hidden is private property. So be careful if attempting this one and be warned about a snappy not happy lady.

17-Jun-12
Called into do this one and a lady came out of the nearby house requesting that we don't continue.
The elderly man that lives there gets quite worried by all of the strange people that are pulling up and wandering around on his land looking for the cache. Maybe this one needs to be shut down due to her request.

Great location. Had problems finding the start of the wallaby track. However, after almost tripping on a rather large python we found it. As a tip if you can't find the wallaby track look for a tap on a stand-pipe and head in that direction.

Guess first I would like to confirm that the stinging trees near the cache sting.
Had left the hand held GPS at the cabin, so tried first to find it with the car gps. Bumped the gps, so had the wrong coordinates in it so was looking totally in the wrong place, then we got the right ones and accessed the cache area from the wallaby trail, which was much better. There is more than one turkey nest near gz.
The GPS was not cooperating on this overcast, rainy day. Finally went and got the good gps, and it was much better, but cache was still not revealing itself.
Since the sting was getting more noticable, decided a DNF would be a very annoying situation. Then Brother in Law Bob made the find.

An easy find while camping in Bunya NP. Saw a beautiful goanna on the lawn as we approached the cache. Skirted around the Bush turkey nest as well. Cache is in good condition.

Thanks

Wow what a day today was - cache number 1000 for us, thankyou for bringing us to such a great spot with so much interesting history, beautiful rainforests and great national parks. To top it off a great drive through the Bunya Mountian Range with a picnic lunch at Dandabah with the king parrots(at our picnic table), western rosella and the Satin Bower Bird even made an appearance for us.

Lovely spot!! Have never seen a bush turkeys nest before.

Apparently this one ended up to Gaz'n'Kab's 500th cache. Congrats to them both Big Grin

I lead the charge in to this one. Good lord the bounce was full on - and it was hard to move to get a correct signal. We eventually found an area open enough and the GPSr settled down and pointed straight to the cache. It was in good condition. A very beautiful rainforest indeed - and an interesting insight of times gone by. TFTC Speedmistress Smile

Our 999th find. Had to wait for some muggles to finish Happy Hour in the nearby cabins. Eventually they left and we set off into the bush and soon found the turkey mound. Unmolested by any turkey muggles we hunted around for a while before Mr Herbz spotted the hidey hole. TFTC.

Nature's been acting like a cacher here, with lots of little artful arrangements of twigs, rocks, hollows etc... Mid-morning, but overcast, and I nearly resorted to retrieving my torch for the hunt, it was so dark under the trees. TFTC Speedmistress.

Up in the Mountains for a spot of caching with a few fellow cachers and a muggle. As we aproached this one we felt a little like we were tresspassing, so we entered the Zone from a path a little further down the road. With thick tree cover in places, it was difficult to get an accurate reading but continued, avoiding the bush turkey nest mentioned in previous loggs, and the spikey branched thing-a-me. A large fallen rotting tree had cleared a patch of sky enuff to let us know we were pretty much at GZ. While we were all looking where we thought the cache would be, we heard a call of "I think I found it" from the muggle. Yup, sure enuff he had Red Face We logged the find @ 1-49pm and headed out a different way, past another bush turkey nest which, come to think of it, woz probably the one mentioned in the log. Just b4 we emerged from the trees, we came to the most awesome fig tree i have ever seen. Took a few great photos of it. TFTC Speedmistress

Found with Loupyloo at 1348.

After carefully reading the description, we proceeded, under the guidance of Mr Simia, to enter on the completely wrong side [:o]

We very carefully climbed over and around the huge rotted and fallen tree to get to GZ where our muggle friend (now better known as Plus-One) spotted the cache and tried to get out of retrieving it. 'Finders getters' said Mrs Simia.

Log was signed and we exited the right way, to the amusement of the property owners mentioned in the description. We gave them a wave and headed off again. TNLN SL TFTC

Found it at 1345 after allowing my GPSr to settle down. Good hide Dell. Not too far into the trees etc. There were two scrub turkeys near the nest on my approach and they did not go to far, so as they were to the left of the nest I went to the right and was only 1meter of your posted co ordinates. Spending a few days in this wonderful place with friends and up comes a new cache, yea. We will return to this neck of the woods the next time we are down this way to finish off the rest of the walks that we were unable to do this time. The views and outlooks are some of the best we have seen even for us north queenslanders who live in the great divide, the plants, trees and animals are different from what we are used to seeing.
