The winds that blew strongly in September have resulted in this section of the forest being declared OUT OF BOUNDS due danger from 'hung up' trees. The cache was retrieved today and will be repositioned elsewhere.
Oops. Didn't mean to leave this so long. Had a look around, but zeroed under a fallen tree. Not sure if it's under it, or somewhere else, but may need a look at.
On a walking mission to get the two multi's in the area but could not pass up picking up the two other trad's also. This was the first to be found and quickly spotted by Chelzea just lying on the ground out in the open. Signed and replaced where it seemed to go. TFTC
I was surprise when i saw the container.and i never thought it was a trash.i told Sevren to have a look for the container maybe its the cache.and yes its the cache lying on the ground.tftc
This was an excuse to get out on a bike for the first time in many years. An enjoyable way to spend a sunny Sunday.
Was on an early morning mission to recollect the waypoints for Tour de Macleans and then head for the bonus and another multi around the track but made the mistake of experimenting with GSAK (not having ever used it before) over the weekend and didnt get half of the way points so managed to collect the other two not founds in the vicinity as consolation. Will return next weekend better equiped. Thanks for the hide.
My son and I jumped off our mountain bikes after a pleasant bike ride around Mcleans island to look and I spied it first - he was a little dissapointed - but there are plenty more to find I told him !!
A quick find on an enjoyable bike ride in the park this afternoon. Signed log, TFTC!
Parked our car in the carpark at the McLeans Island Mountain Bike Track...& headed off around the track, hoping to do a few of the caches out here. Lots of tree felling has been going on, and 8 or 9 kms of the track was unavailable to ride as the recent rains & flooding on the West Coast, and subsequent spill over into the headwaters of the Canterbury rivers, has played havoc with the water levels in the Waimak River...had been flowing stop-bank to stop-bank...although no danger of flowing over. We'll need to come back another day to do all the ones we missed...had to settle for only 3 in the area today. TN:LN:SL. TFTC...BaldEd...btw...by the look of all the spray painted markings on the nearby trees, this area could be in for some 'thinning out' or maybe a 'total clear-out' sometime soon. Third cache for Day 79 of our Consecutive Days Streak. #363 for us.
As I was coming from the MTB track it took a little longer than expected but found it in the end. TFTC.
Quick detour from the bike trail, as I realised we weren't going to be riding past it. Cache all good. TFTC
Second find for today. Picked up or first travel bug. Enjoying the sun on a cool autumn day.
Went for a stroll while worker got the billie on at the biking car park. wandered down the 12th following a four, left them to putt out and quickly found the cache. Wandered back in the now melting frost. Thanks.
I saw what Marion 1 meant, I lept about 10 feet in the air when I got close to the cache
I have recently been caching in Aussie and you need to be a lot more careful over there where you stick you hands.
Cheers and thanks for another cache

Overlooked at first (I should have trusted my geocacher gut-feel!), but found easily with the clue. GPS was accurate despite tree coverage. Found on the way back to the carpark after finding 'Painted Rocks' cache. Neat place, especially in the autumn.
+ plastic frog
+ a goodie left outside the cache container yet hidden from sight (you'll see what I mean when you find this cache)!

Excellent, ridden in the area many times even in the Giant day/nighter MTB race. No people around , lucky for a busy Sunday. TFTC
Out here to take part in some MTB orienteering and went looking for two caches after the event. Found them both including this one. TFTC
3974. This is a new track extension since our last visit. They have certainly done well with this series of tracks. Our last find for the afternoon.
Thanks

2nd find for the day & the new year, had to back track a little from the main track to get this one. TFTF
Found it during an enjoyable mountain bike round the park. I didn't see the TB in the cache though.
Number 300 for us, yeah we ended up on the stopbank to get the GPS to get us closer to the location, once we got that sorted it wasn't long till we got it and carried on cycling - yeah!
stopped off while biking and took a short stroll for this one, gps a bit affected, located it in a very open location but obviously where it should be - put some camoflage of 'phloem' around it so not too exposed, TFTC
#541: Fourth of Five on the Day!
Out having a great time this afternoon! First time in this park, and my GeoYounglings and I are loving it. I took a little extra side-trip from the rest of our party to pick this one up. Coords are spot on, and the cache is in good shape. I'll have to come back to re-try the DNF I had earlier, and to pick up the other two I didn't have a chance at today. I look forward to it!

Found after a very long search with badjelly. Was about to leave but had to have one last look. Tftc
Finally on many trips round the Cycle tracks, shot off and found this one. Sadly no TB in cache.
Somehow I came upon this one without any delay. Did a TB swap -- found Workman TB in this cache; left Joss TB.
I have to get out of the idea of preconceived ideas where things might be hidden... Rode past it then returned. Well hidden.
Diverted off the MB track to pick this one off before returning to the car park for a welcome iceblock. Nice hiding spot. TFTC.
Collected this while biking - had to go off biking track for a bit but heaps of room on the tracks -tftc
Run past here a couple of times a week. You never know what is in the forest!!
Nice find, got a bit lost as we came from a different direction. Whats that rule.... keep to the track... TFTC
I was out on my mountain Bike, so had a small diversion from the MTB track to get to the cache. Found it w/o too much trouble once I had ditched the bike. TFTC
Day promised so much but delivered so little - we were really geared up for M Island - all organised bikes at the ready Dog got a run allowed on walks but not on the mountain bike trails . Cache found easily but the weather was awful - so we did one more and surrendered for another day.
Finally found it, this was our third or fourth attempt at this one, phew. TFTC
Please take 'Clogs West on a plane ride west.

Strange name when you consider the golf course, just there, but I suppose it is named after the bike loop. My Oregon hated those trees but found after a small aimless wander. Thank you.
One day we have to do the cycling track, not today though. Decided to do the Tour de McLeans without the necessary equipment and enjoyed finding some caches on the way. TFTC
The last one in the park today after doing three other caches out here. Great day for it too, every one out enjoying the sun while it lasts. TNLN Thanks.
We decided to head out for a walk late afternoon to find this cache and Painted Rocks. Nice easy walk, and a fairly quick find. Cheers Gav [5912]
Took a while to find as my Garmin doesn't like tree cover. Had to guess where GZ was and luckily the cache was less than 1 metre away.
Nice hide and I had to hide from the the muggle just as the rain set in, TNLN SL TFTH
Had a bit of a look for this last time round the short track, thought we must have missed it as it must have been on the extension, eventually found our way easy enough after realising just which track it actually was off.
Took a bit to find, not sure about that clue.
After walking about for a bit it turned out we practically parked the MTBs on the spot after all so we got it in the end.
We always enjoy our time in the area.

Only a slight detour necessary on last stretch of the bike track, and this cache was in hand. TFTC
Second cache for the day which was on my front "unfound" page. I was a bit annoyed when StreetWalker did this without me a few weeks back, but the new cache nearby lured him back to accompany me..

Schools back,so thought that there would be no one about.Yep had the place to ourselves thank goodness as the GPS made us hunt for a little while as It didn't seem to like Womble T.But as soon as Womble B took over It took her right to the hidey hole.We put it back nice and safe.A nice long walk for Bonnie our Geodoggie.TFTC BaldEd
#1068. This one has been top of my closest unfound to home list on and off for a while. Called past while out for a longish bike ride today and found pretty quickly. TFTC.
Found with friends from Wellington. A nice detour after a good loop of the MTB track.
Made a detour off the new loop track to get to it. Put a swap item in, didn't take any though. TFTC
Missed the first time, revisted and expanded search. Cache quickly located. Very cute toy inside, but unfortunately no swaps today so left it.
Easy find on a very beautiful Canterbury day. Container sitting exposed so placed a piece of natural camo over it. Took coin.
Was off to Riccarton Market when I noticed a new cache published with Streetwalkernz and Troodles out of town I thought the markets can wait another day. A definite chance for a FTF and sure enough when I found the cache the log book was empty. Ya!. TFTC Balded
Dropping off a couple of trackables. + BaldEd's Meet and Greet Geocoin. + Cache by Cycle Geocoin
