sorry guys, meant to disable this one, Dam Staff informed me it was muggled. Will fix asap
Been meaning to wander up this way for a while, and had the excuse today.
Tis a really nice picnic and recreational area they've now made, and that big water holding device is pretty snazzy too!

Sneaky and witty. We came close to closing. No-one around saw suspicious loiterers no-where near the attraction that this park caters for TFTC
found this one with on problems, it was a nice evening to take a drive through the country side. TFTH
Thank you so much for this cache. Been coming here my whole life (grandparents in the area) but never knew this spot was here! The central display at the nearby information center was AMAZING (okay, I spent more time playing with that that searching for the cache). Excellent cache!
Too many kids on bikes around to look for this without looking too suspicious to their parents. Might come back out of school holidays.
Had to wait for the gardener to move on, but the rest was needed after cycling from Campbelltown, Thanks
Havn't been here in so long and first visit to the area for our geoson who is currently doing a school project on the dam. Just a few mugglers around picnicing and what a beautiful day for it! SL TFTC
The hint assisted greatly in getting a quick find. A few mugglers around on Sunday so some stealth and interest in the item at hand was required. SL TFTC
12.30pm. This is now a great place to visit. Excellent lookout over the dam and a special visitors centre.
Easy find with no one around at the time.
Thank you. David & Noeline.

Very quiet up there this morning. I hadn't been up into this section of the picnic ground for over 15 years. They've done a bloody good job of the grounds up there. As we got there, we saw what looked to be an Aermacchi jet, do a pass over with a couple of loops through the sky.
We found the cache very easily, as it didnt seem to be covered very well at all. Signed log, replaced the container, with an extra rock in front, for more camo.
Word of warning too. Watch security up there, as they're very quick to pounce on you if you havent parked in the appropriate spot. Even if you are there for a very short period. TFTC.

Went out to Warragamba Dam for the 50th Anniversary day (learnt some great history) and the local town Fair. Took the time to find a couple of caches (this & Spilway Lookout). How open is this one. TFTC, TNLN.
Canada Micro V2 Geocoin (ref = TB1YT3Q) was dropped here on 6 Apr 2010 by Pip & Robbie. It obviously went missing when the cache was muggled. Needs to be declared missing by the cache owner.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 140 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, returning to Warragamba Dam for the first time since 1984. Back then we did a tour INSIDE THE DAM WALL, doesn't seem to be on now, but the new visitor's centre is quite impressive.
After doing the lookout and visitor's centre bit I fired up the gpsr, walked along for all of 86 metres, and made a very quick and easy GAFF 0 find.
My find No 3107, TNLNSL. Canada Micro V2 Geocoin (ref = TB1YT3Q) obviously went missing when the cache was muggled.

We had a look anyway as we had come down here to revisit the Dam, but looks like it still has not been replaced. This place is just amazing and don't forget the Warragamba Dam 50th anniversary celebrations - Sunday 17 October 2010 http://www.sca.nsw.gov.au/dams-and-water/recreation/warragamba-dam/warragamba-dam-50th-anniversary-celebrations yues thats right 50 years ago it was finished.
I remember in late 2000 driving across the Dam wall as a group of Fire trucks heading over for a large HR with National Parks.
JABs.

Looked for this because we didn't know it had been disabled. Moved every rock which could move and the cache definitely isn't there. Thanks for bringing us here.
Had a good search for this one, found the likely hole in the rocks but no cache, suspected it had been muggled while looking at other aggregate cubes found the cache lid so had a look for contents but no luck. Had lunch in the park great spot it has changed alot. TFTC.
It was a lovely cool day to explore this revamped section of Haviland Park, with plenty of interesting plaques, displays, viewing platforms and a beautiful new visitor centre as well. When Pip was a young boy (1967 or so), his Father took him along when the CMF (Citizen Military Forces) visited the interior of the dam. All he can remember was going down in a lift into a wet inspection tunnel, and other areas that the public (at that time) weren't allowed access to. Hopefully the public will be allowed access to the dam again, once the upgrade to the flood gates is complete in 2012. Pip had also walked across the Warragamba Gorge suspension bridge that once spanned the Warragamba River on the downstream side of the dam. Evidently safety and security problems plagued the bridge, and after 2/3rds of the bridge was damaged in the Christmas 2001 bushfire, cost prohibited it's repair and it was demolished. TNLNSL. Thank you for the enjoyable and educational morning, the close up views of the dam, and for the cache prospector27!

the boy let me find this one (since hes found all the others so far !). we went to warragamba and although knew where the cache was couldnt get closer due to a few floating muggles so went and had a look at the viewing platforms and such before wandering back to the location and retrieving the cache. was SO cute ! took it over to the grass while we had our picnic and replaced it before leaving. Took the canadian mico coin and will move it on to our next cache find. its only been in NSW for a short time since Washington ! first coin find so VERY excited Would suggest going to this cache in LOW muggle periods. TFTC
Walking up to this one a bloke looked up, I said "Did you find it". He thought we were muggles but looked much releived when he knew we where there looking too.
Nice to meet Rama497 who had locate the cache, we both signed log and were off.

Garks was on the ball today! I seemed to be looking on the wrong side of the ____.TFTC
Found by the older boy fairly easily while we looked at the sign that details the history.
Great views from the lookout and the movie in the information centre is very interesting.

Was worried as we pulled up we would not get access, but due to daylight saving, we still had an hour. Easy find for the older of the girls as the youngest was still asleep.

Early morning, late afternoon or weekdays are best times to avoid muggles in this picnic area. Look for Berocca tube (black)
We're sure -like us- many of you who grew up in the Sydney region will remember coming here on School excursions, Sunday School picnic's and the like as kids. You will also be as impressed as we were with the updates!

Thanks prospector nicely done

Nabbed this one fairly quickly, but how on earth does it stay like that? Thanks again to Rags for taking me here!
Have not been up here in a long time and do agree with previous logs they have done a great job
with the renovations its looks great,in the future(1 in 700 year) could image water flowing over the
spillway what a speculator sight that would be.anyway with sightseeing done the cache was located
and signed easy done just had to wait for gap in muggles activity...TFTC .P27......

It was nice to revisit this area and see the changes and improvements they have produced to the area.
Good view of the dam. The last time we were here you were allowed to drive closer and walk across
the dam wall and there used to be a swing bridge across the gorge below the dam. TFTC.

Nice easy find at 4:50 on a drizzly Friday afternoon. Parked within 10 metres and soon had the cache in hand. Though not quite at the right height!?!

FTF at 8:40am wow how this area has changed. They have really done an excellent job in creating this picnic area. I will have to bring the family out here for an outing. Very nice location for a cache. Thanks for bring me here prospector27. TNLN.
Beaten to a FTF by that worthy adversary, jkcourtz.
They have certainly changed the visitors areas around here. For the better!
A quick find, though it is amazing how many muggles are about, even on a Monday morning.
I think I dropped the pencil out of this one, could the next cacher please replace it for me, thanks.
