On my way to Ambury Farm this morning for a walk to collect all the caches south of the farm and around the Mangere Lagoon. Thankfully I arrived at Ambury early, as there was a farm day here today, and I was lucky to score a carpark. All up the total distance walked was just under 9.5km.
Luckily I spied a nest with 4 eggs before stepping in it just before spotting the cache laying out in the open, without a lid. Signed the log and placed the cache back where I think it came from.

M24: found a ground nest of eggs next to the cache, the cache itself was a nice and easy find, although it needs a bit of maintenance. TFTC.
Needs some attention this one. Was out in the open - many after attention from some of the natives
Found it - needs a lid.. recent rains have flooded it and the surrounding paddocks
Love all these rocky outcrops and yes it is reminiscent of Lion King. While we were admiring the resemblance, larphs spotted the cache. Tftc
RuthHide noticed Lion Rock as I approached and I called out the appropriate welcome (because only the cows would have heard). As I bowed down at Lion Rock I noticed a less organic feature of a neighbouring rock and voila or ya kupatikana!
Ambury Rocks even at night.
Quick find.
Cach is safe and dry.
The lid is missing and there is only one line left in the log.
Just standing here listening to the cows eating, looking at the stars.
Think it's a really nice night to be geocaching.
Thanks

In the area today, hoping to miss the masses that would most likely frequent here during the weekends, getting some me time out of the house, still under self Covid-19 lockdown given we have a vulnerable child that would make life very interesting should one of us catch this lurgy.....
I cheated a little, using the bike to cover more ground for much of the early finds today.
It has been some time since I was last here....actually it would have been prior to geocaching.....
TFTC.

Not surprising on a wet Saturday morning that the GZ was very quiet. Out in my bike collecting more caches. GPS was spot on. Thanks for bringing me back here. TFTC
Thank you! That was our first Geocache find! Perfect activity for lockdown! Looking forward to finding more - Leo, Ben, Eliza
To those of you about to rock, I salute you ! Really enjoyed examining these especially in the shadow of the maunga. TFTC
well... all the sheep were at the shearing shed, so this only left the pukekos and shore birds. felt a bit bad walking towards them as they were hunkered down as the wind was getting up. after searching in many a spot, the cache was finally in hand, and we were able to continue our loop of the park
Missed this one last time, and on the way past earlier too. Timed it right on the way back and soon had the cache in hand, once the lazing sheep had wandered off.
It's a busy caching weekend planned for me; mrs c has headed to our daughter's for a few days with our grand-daughter and so I am at a loose end of sorts. But so much choice and where to go? With a CITO at Henderson planned for Saturday morning, I then wanted to finish off Ambury Regional Park. Mangere volcano, and some of the motorway-side walkway caches and anything else in range when passing. As it was I had a medium-sized day with cache finds not exceeding 50 and 22kms walked during my searches, a good day though. Thanks to all the COs whose caches had the name capperz added to the log. Plenty of tramyard caches today though, nice one.

Headed out here for a nice walk after work today.
Great spot to put a cache!
Great spot to put a cache!
Spending the day at Ambury Regional Park and hoping to find a few caches while I'm here. This one was nice and straightforward, but well hidden too. It was very interesting to read the logbook that's now been here over 11 years-- the cache has had a lot of visits since then. TFTC
Out and about with Piratenschatzsucher on a nice day off. Nice hiding spot. Nice scenery. Signed as team Piraten. Tftc
Today it was almost too hot for a walk so exposed to the sun, but we managed. Kids were at school, so we did a little caching on our own. Aaahhhh. This one is a nice and easy find and a real nice size. Thanks for hiding and maintaining. Tftc
Found this lying out in the open, have tucked it away in a nook, & secured it so hopefully it'll stay put. Sheep & lambs galore on the way to cache - very cute, took it cautiously so as not to upset them. TFTC.
Found this easy one on a walk today. Didn’t have a pen to write in the log so will write on our next visit
Lovely stroll through the paddocks! Ambury is one of our favourite places in Auckland! Tftc
Another day and another assault on the South Auckland area.
Just seems to be a never ending task here with with new caches coming out on a regular basis.
Today caching with Squirrel Nutcase, eyespy ben and abcd4. All caches today logged as HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, & Papamoa)
Hopefully this area will now have a lot more smillie faces. Great effort today. SLTFTC

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We signed logs with our team handle: Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa). Our plan was hastily decided upon - to focus on South-West Auckland...
“I like the Mangere Watercare Wastewater Treatment Plant,” said nobody, ever... But it’s been an amazing place for caching over the years. We’ve not ventured this far along the Coastal Walkway before, so the sights we are seeing are new... There were a few possibilities, but a telltale screen pointed to the hide. Thanks funkymunkyzone and TFTC.

Back on the road again with Squirrel Nutcase,Fap&Gap and EyespyBen

Last one for my covid19 work. My phone is on 10% so I better head home. But a good way to get out for a walk
Took me a while to locate, but eventually I did! While location found was approximate to co-ords it didn’t seem to match the description (it was more where a bird might be). So, I popped it back to enjoy a bit of rock. Removed grass from cache and placed log book in bag. All good to go for the next cacher. Thanks!
#7477. I was heading back to the airport to fly home after my trip to Auckland and had a few spare hours before the flight. So decided to visit Ambury farm to check out the wader roosts at high tide. And of course a few geocaches in the area were an added incentive. Slowly working my way back to the car. Bit of a diversion here for an older cache. Useful to know this is another access route into the farm park. Scattered the pukeko and mynas to the four winds and headed to GZ for an instant find. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks FMZ for hiding this cache here.
Thoguht I knew exactly where to look for this one as I walked across the field and I was close but not close enough- the dimming light may have been to blame for how long it took me to find but that is probably just an excuse. How on earth did I miss it? Also managed to lose my balance and now have a nasty bruise on my behind form the rock I fell on - Ambury definitely rocks!
Decided to come and do some more caches in this part of the regional park today.Parked nearby and started our walk. The sheep here were super cute and were very interested whilst we made this nice quick find.
Lots of new born lambs in the fields today! Awesome location! Log in good condition! TFTC!
TFTC... Found and logged. Most enjoyed one to look for. Family loved running aroung the paddock lol
It wasn't there we were right on top of it but not there, I was very disappointed but at least I whent on nice sunny walk but a bit disappointing
After a nice skiing Holiday I hade some time before I had to give back the rental car so I drove in this area to grab some Geocaches. Nice landscapes and nice Caches made me enjoy my walk!
Found it between some sheeps with their lams.
Thanks for hiding!

We certainly took the long route to this cache, but made it in the end. This area looks like it belongs in the UK somewhere, its very cool! A pretty quick and easy find once we got to the GZ. TFTC!
Find number 4055. I had dropped a friend off at the airport at 4 am and was doing some caches before heading home. After doing a couple I decided to walk Ambury Park. I parked and made my way across the park in the dark following my GPS. This led to me to GZ where I soon found the cache under torchlight. Signed and returned it. Then it was a case of following a trail down the hill until I found myself at a real path. The fog in the area made for a little adventure. Thank you for the placement.
Took the kids out of the lounge and into the wild. Great fun. Good find Elliot. Good lion king pose Ayla. Good dad Dad.
Found with Mum. This one took us a while but I went through the logs and decided to take a step back and look. Found almost straight away after that. Loved this one Tftc
This geocache will celebrate soon its 8`th birthday! Happy birthday then! Nice and lovely walk in on the end of beautiful day in Ambury Regional Park. TFTC
An area weve been many times. But this rocky place was a first. Our little family enjoys the new discoveries of south Auckland that Geocaching provides. Tftc
Was in the area in the pre-dawn daylight saving darkness this morning so wandered over here for a quick find. I love these rock formations, must come back in the daytime for a better walk/look. TFTC
We have been to Ambury farm many times but have never walked across this paddock so enjoyed seeing a few different sights. There are definitely some amazing rocks here and some very tame sheep.
We arrived at GZ , saw a likely spot and were rewarded with the cache.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Very cool area enjoyed finding these caches along the way. Nice hide here, thanks for the hide.
Sent another team member ahead to claim the find, must of had his blinders on as I spotted the obvious spot right away, and there it was.
It was taking a few mins and we hoped it wasn't missing since it hasn't been found since Feb, but after 5 mins we made the find. Lots of ducks i think paradise ducks in the flooded field nearby. Taken tb, will log out once home. Tftc
Nice find in the afternoon; met other cachers just leaving. Cache all good, left Charlie Brown TB. TFTC
