Ditto what JardisLikeTardis said ... River sludge at chest height on the surrounding trees definitely suggests an owner check might be in order.
Kjwx and I had no luck at WP1 despite searching high and low for some time. The area down the bank (where the GPSr was directing us) had obviously experienced some high water recently, as there was a lot of foliage tangled high up in the branches of the trees.
I don't usually do multi's (I have trouble inputting manual co-ords) but this one was close to home. I did not find the first waypoint so came to a standstill. It hasn't been found since May, is it still there?
Chose the wrong day to attempt this as there was a mountain bike race in progress so the place was populated with fast moving mud covered muggles who would have been most upset if I got in their way, not to mention what damage I might have suffered! Things were quite wet and soggy around WP1 area too.
Took a bit of a look in between mountain bike passes, but didn't have any success and I note from other logs that it seems a bit more effort may be needed.

I note from the previous log that we were lucky not to try this one earlier; by the time we arrived (about mid afternoon), the race was well and truly over - just a couple of cyclists and a few dog walkers to contend with.
One dog walker happened on us just as we arrived at WP1. We walked in the opposite direction until he was gone from view then returned and started the search. By the time we got to the final, he was there too, on his walk back. Another wait, then cache was quickly found (sorry robnzh). Funnily enough, when we got to the carpark by Tight Spaces, there he was again! Felt as though we were stalking him.
Thanks for the pleasant walk and cache at the end.

#2214. Luckily the day improved as it went on. Nice walk along the river, which had a fair amount of water after the rain. Nice hide at the final. TFTC.
One must confess that this is not the first visit we have paid here. I was encouraged by another cacher's recent find to revisit and had success on this occasion.
Cache found all in order, signed the log, rehidden safely, as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Visited on Thursday for the second look through and horay, found it! Took the geo coin, that will re-deposit somewhere interesting soon, and put in a little bag. Great spot, TFTC!
Hmm.. the first one took me a bit of searching but had to think a little out of the box... Got it... Second one just made sence once I got to the coordinates... Nice little walk with my son... TNLNSL TFTC

call in on hutt river trail 2 so have to come and find the number 3, drop off Geocoin and pick up TB TFTC # 0567
Had looked for this once before but no success. However, allowed for a little "play" in co-ords today, and cachers intuition allowed for fast finds in both spots. Picked up TB. TFTC
Stopped for this one on the way to Upper Hutt this afternoon. Found WP1 after about 5 minutes looking a bit further into the vegetation where the GPSr was pointing me, and then used some intuition to zero in on it quite quickly. Found the final instantly with the clue and some more intuition which was just as well as the GPSr was telling me to go into some evil-looking bushes about 6 metres away. Signed log, TFTC!
Found the waypoint quickly after waiting for some people to walk past.
I was quite pleased that I also found the final cache quickly despite the fact that it was well concealed.
A nice walk along the river.
Thanks.

After searching all about I went back to think logically and found the first waypoint.. The final was a quick and easy find.. There were hundreds of birds in the river today (I think they were waiting for fish to come swimming past)...
(1:18:38 PM/fwgb) A quick find after acting as a Marshal for the Bike the trail event.

#1000. Milestone cache for us - find #1000 and also our hundredth multi-cache find. The last of the five in the series we found on this beautiful evening. Thanks for a great series.
[There were plenty of] bugs [and] holes [at WP1 and I spent about 10 minutes wandering around the mud before almost giving up and checking the more obvious places one last time.
We must think on similar wavelengths, as WP2 used the same concept as the first cache I hid (GC22Z71).

I took part in a marathon that went along the River Trail about six months ago and I reckon this was the nicest part of it. Today, I found WP1 without difficulty, but my GPSs was telling me that WP2 was somewhere I didn't think the cache would be. Luckily my ever improving geocaching intuition took over and I correctly deduced where the cache would be. I didn't expect to find 1, 2 and 3 of this series in less than an hour. I am impressed with the thought that has gone into this and the variety of locations and containers. I can't wait to return to have a go at 4 and 5.
1.40pm. Another good walk on a warm day. Even found the final almost firast up in spite of all those options!!
Retrieved a geocoin. Thankyou. David and Michael

The rain started just before we were about to set off from the parking place, luckily we had brought our lunch and used this to delay our start! Set off slightly later in lovely sunshine, found stage 1 - then on to final. Quickly spotted by Mrs B.
Took Cyrano's Island geocoin, Left Kiwi 2 Cents geocoin.

A very pleasant walk along the river today. A quick find of the WP and final - a nice quick multi.

Nice little multi-cache. Took a little while to find WP1 then off to WP2, quick find at final. Took nothing, signed log, left GC. TFTC
I seemed to have no end of muggle trouble on the two river side caches today. Located WP1 at lunch time without any trouble and headed off to GZ, turned around to see I was being followed closely by a Greater Wellington staffer. When I got to GZ he was almost at my side and decided to stop for a chat, although I could see the cache I decided it was too risky to recover with him hanging around. Returned late this afternoon and had the pleasure of muggling Yeetrees as he searched for the cache, always good to catch up and pass the time of day with a fellow cacher. TNLN SL TFTC
Parked at where I thought would be a good spot and found WP1 quickly and then decided on a go to the final, arrived at final GZ and was just looking for a few seconds and was muggled by boxhill, I know where it is, he yells, oh well better being muggled by a fellow cacher than a real muggle, end up catching up and then decided who could get to Khandallah first, was beaten fair and square, but only because I had to pull off for gas, but an interesting exercise, the shortest route is not always the fastest, will remember that next time. Cool multi loved it looking forward to the next one. TFTC TNLNSL (1526)
Havent been out for a while so when i saw this i thought why not a good cache made all the nicer by the night .
