Went to check on this today. Sadly the area has been trampled quite a bit and trees illegally cut down. No sign of it anywhere. Hasn't been looked for in quite a while so its now retired.
Oh my lord what an ascent.
Up and up we went. By the time we reached this cache we were ready for a breather. Breather I had as I did the bumblebee dance, eventually cottoning on to ground zero facts. Heck yes
My love and blessings to the CO my God that is one hell of a walk up to here. Blessing to the CO. Many cheers!

Found with My Dad (DJANT) and my Brothers (dart16 & Jedi Anakin) I have my own account now and am trying to catch up to the boys Thanks for the cache.
Yep this one has gone. The area seems to be getting more popular and sadly more rubbish is being left around. I was ready to place a new one but far too many muggles around on Father's Day so I will revisit in a little while and do it then - but more away from where people are.

Could not locate it. Unfortunately the whole area is being used as a toilet so it is not the most pleasant area to poke around in.
Gave it some much needed love - new container, pen and logbook. Next time I'm up I'll put a nicer pen in and a ziplock bag. I did slightly elevate it so will stay drier also but some location.
Amazing view!
Charlie 6yrs left a lady bug. The note pad is a little damp but can still record.

Found on a nice day in second month of winter, with temperatures in the mid 20s with Shaneo58. Concentrating on the Watigans and Mount Vincent Areas. This is the 2nd cache of 7 for today. Had us looking all over the place, until we stumbled on to it, nice hide. Log signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks For The Cache Ecca

Found it with Bill Hill531.Alitte bit of finding it till i tripped over it.TFTC. Ecca
Staying with muggle family nearby and a morning hike was planned, so the first thing I did was look for nearby caches..
Our hike started with 7 of us but only 2 made it to the top..
We started from Heatons gab service station and made our way up, and up and up some more.
Surprised at the many hikers who were out and about..
Finally made it up to the hang gliding area only to have campers within 10 metres of gz. Thankfully they were packing up so it gave us time to sit and relax and take in the view..
We wondered around in circles for sometime until finally locating the cache.. the cache was wet on the inside but the log book was dry.. my muggle cousin happily signed the log and loved the treasure hunt.
Thankyou for placing the cache for us to enjoy, its a shame the mess the campers left with broken bottles and discarded camp chairs tho..
A 4.7km round trip and all up hill
A fav point from us..

My dog Duke and I came for a drive out here today to find a few caches in the area, drove to GZ and enjoyed the view before searching for the cache, My gps was having trouble so I walked in circles for a while before spotting the cache pretty much in the open, I signed the log and covered it a bit more after replacing. Thanks for the cache Ecca tnln sl
We enjoyed the hike in towards Ground Zero at the end of a great week of hiking and geocaching in the surrounding forest areas. We soon homed in on and found the cache where we signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Now that its finally stopped raining thought I'd best go check it out. Lid was off, container broken and the contents strewn around:-( Anyway now has a new container and log and writing implements. No goodies inside yet though. Let the caching recommence.
Found with Beary_Unicorns on a sunny long weekend Monday morning, however someone has placed something organic in the cache which has been rotting for a while, suggest CO check on this. Tftc, fave point from me
Finally found it, brought the kids up from the tough side, took an hour but a great training session. The cache was well hidden. Thanks
We decided to do some training for our upcoming Nepal trek in April. The five of us started the climb from the motel carpark on Freemans Drive. It certainly was a steep one, as I explained how geocaching worked to the three muggles in our group. On one of the hottest days this year, we finally made our way to the top, amazed at the number of people who were running up and down that track and steps! And I thought we were crazy doing the walk in the heat.
Once near GZ we narrowed it down to within a few metres, before Sylvia's Sister spied the right tree. The well positioned camo was removed and we were able to sign the fresh log - Brewmaker, Sylvia's Sister, along with muggles Ann-Maree, Martin & Alex! A great spot overlooking Lake Macquarie and surrounds. No hang gliders today though. Then we continued our hike to the views at Heatons Lookout before making our way back down the track to the cars.
TFTC and an excuse to get some serious hiking training in. Oh, and some unloved days in too! Giving it a FP.

Following a bushfire my cache was MIA so I've placed a new one just a little distance away from the old.

After an amazing walk up the Watagan Track, we got to GZ and wandered around for a while before eventually finding the cache. We then sat down and had a rest before heading off further up the hill to our next planned cache. TFTC!
Find #1071
With a return to work looming tomorrow, we decided a quick cache or two and some sightseeing with Dad/Pop around the Watagans was in order. We ended up with five finds, no DNFs, and a couple of leads for our next trip.
Last find for the day, and really the goal for the day. We checked out the Heatons Lookout and the trailhead for the GNW while we were there, then drove along to the launch area. Initially the road looked really bad, and we parked 450m from GZ, on walking the first 50m it was clear the road was fine, but everyone was keen for a little walk, so we walked to GZ, where the cache was found after a short search. My GPS reported the cache was 10m further from the road than the cache was found..... TFTC Ecca

We arrived here just on dark before finding a spot to camp for the night. Unfortunately there were people already camping at the lookout only about 10m away from the cache so we decided to leave it. On the way back up the track, however, we spotted another area that had recently been cleared (another hang glider launch maybe?). It made the perfect camping spot and the views at night were incredible; so pretty with all the twinkling lights, and we even watched a fireworks display way away in the distance whilst we shared our one bottle of cider between 3 of us. Fail!
The next morning, Mr Webguy woke up nice & early and managed to sneak over to the muggles camping nearby and grab the cache without them noticing - nice work! The weather was looking ominous and the wind was pretty wild so it was a quick pack up and off to find some more caches nearby...
TFTC Ecca!
Cheers,

We arrived late on Sunday arvo, there were people setup quite close and I had a quick look but failed to spot the required tree and did not want to raise the attention of the people camping nearby.
I was up before dawn to watch the sunrise at our campsite just 50mtrs from the cache, so I walked down and looked around again in the early morning gloom.
Eventually found it and all signed. back in time to watch the sun come up, just not in the direction we were facing.

Some excellent weather for a bush walk and to find a cache. We parked at the servo at the bottom and began our walk up the hill. It was very steep but well worth the effort. A really fun walk with some amazing views. The cache was easily found after a bit of search. TFTC.
Have upgraded to a proper GPS! Just trust the coordinates I told myself and sure enough, my boys and I found it.
A tree was down at coordinates so not sure if that was it. I will come back if someone else posts they found it.
Late log for the w/e
Tried the close trail but Piked 1/3 the way up in a 4WD as is is sooo steep and precarious. Scary moments!
Eventually got there via the other paths!

I'd meant to attempt this a few months back but was beaten by the rain, so now with a bit of leave from work I was able to return. I parked at the telecommunications tower at the top and walked down the hill to GZ where the cache was quickly located, then went a little bit further to take some photos from the hangliders' launch pad. Quite an impressive view, even with today's heat haze!
Thanks for an enjoyable cache.

Lovely excuse to get up here. Highly recommend the relatively close lookout - a lovely walk and an even better view! Found very quickly, left it a little better hidden than found.
Found after the nearby Creeper Walk Event, in the dark, special night, heaps of fun.
Came here a dozen years ago to Fly my Hang Glider... not at all to my liking, vdry daunting at that time.

Found while attending the nearby Doc who event. What a view at this one and we did it at night. The other member of the party made the find but didnt say anything. Gosh I hate that lol TFTC
Came up here with some college friends on a nice sabbath afternoon drive. Took a while to find using the phone GPS. Thanks for taking us here to this cool spot
Finished work early and was in the area so i decided to walk up from the servo. what a climb certainly got the heart pumping. had a short break on the way up to photograph an echidna. As i neared the top i heard music playing. to my surprise there was a couple of people camping they had driven in and were sitting admiring the view. Said hello and luckily for me the search area for the cache was behind them and far enough away that i was not disturbed. it would have been very annoying if i had walked up and i was muggled out of the find. as i walked back down the hill i stopped for a brief search of the recently archived Take a moment as my car gps (not as up to date as the handheld) showed it but my handheld didn't. A quick pone call to friend and he said it had been archived. As i was talking to him i spotted a python in the grass. TFTC the walk the views and the wildlife.
Haven't been here since we walked the GNW. Enjoyed coming back today to pick up a few caches. TNLN TFTC
The Hunters, teen genius found this one as well. I've been here 3 times before I knew about geocaches. Love this place.
After work I went for this massive (well for me anyway) walk, as I knew my wife would still be a while getting home. The car GPS told me to keep driving and go right around and to the top of the mountain, but I parked at the service station as I do not have a four wheel drive. The first part was quite steep and it was still wet from all the rain. I did not have very good shoes on, but somehow I made it without slipping over (a few slides, but I did not fall down). I stopped off at GC223M1 Take A Moment and took a moment, but could not find it. Maybe my break there was too long, but I felt even worse after it and had even more trouble getting up to this cache. I was amazed when I reached the stairs, that they even existed at all. Probably as they are part of the great north walk, that gets pretty well looked after (or it was), but maybe making them out of sandstone was not the best idea (although it could be the prettiest). The views from the top are amazing, even on an overcast day like it was. I followed the geotrail to a fallen tree and looked all around and eventually the hint led me closer to the road. On the way back down I saw a sign looking for a sick koala that must have been put up by a guy I saw running past who asked if I was looking for a koala at Take A Moment. Near the bottom I went to the right (whereas I came up from the left) as I did not want to go down the slippery clay track. Instead I came out on the other side of the service station and got to walk under an impressive looking cliff.
Thanks for the great workout, views and cache!

Really loved this spot! !!! It has such a great view. The cache was in the first place I looked but I didn't see it until the second time I checked. Thanks for the cache!
got to the top of the hill and thought there may not be a place to turn around with the trailer on at the bottom so reversed 400 meters down the hill to the cache, not that disappointed to find i could have driven down and turned around. the wife didn't want to walk found after expanding search area. nice view. TFTC
We drove from the Pines picnic area and the GeoMazda was not too bad except on the more heavily rutted areas of gravel road. I did park near the Telstra tower and walk down as I did not want to be calling the NRMA to pull the car back up the hill. We were here a very long time ago, but with the wrong coordinates, and searched a good 400m short of GZ. Today there was no problem finding the hidden container, and we had time to look over the launch area. I have no idea how anyone can jump over the edge, no matter how skilled they are. Thanks for a really good adventure, well worth the effort getting here even on a hot day.
Found during a hike up the mountain with a few friends. The view was worth the walk, albeit a bit hazy. Just a shame about all the toilet paper lying around GZ. The cache remains in good condition. Many thanks Ecca
Came out to do Team Unibolt's Letterbox Hybrid then thought I'd start up the mountain to see if it was feasible for an old fart with a gammy knee. If you don't look up and keep plodding away it doesn't seem so bad (I'll let you know in the next few days), what a fantastic view!
Out of nowhere a 4WD appeared and I thought "you beauty, a lift back down" but it wasn't to be, he was checking poles and still had a few to go, bugger! The rotten part was that as I staggered across the road to the servo, he drove out of the bush and drove away, bugger again!! TFTC Ecca!! (I think?)

We continued our ascend from 'Take a moment' cache up and finally made it to the top. Quite an exercise! Enjoyed great views and had CIH soon. Thanks Ecca!
