TFTC… Out and about with Clubrose… she sorted this one… plenty of small plums to forage.

02-Oct-20
Away in the Geocamper on a TMGT mission around the lower South Island. This was another cache right where we stayed overnight. Our first attempt wasn’t successful, the numbers were not working so we did what others did and read the logs then worked out what we needed to do and soon had workable numbers. Got some co-ords and set off for the final. Mr S had to make the find, Mrs S isn't much good at scrambling.

Thanks Bitsprayer. Another smilie in the area.

29-Aug-20
Was nice to catch up at the ftf i got to first . Like others before me i was totally confused but read back on previous logs and did the sums with the new info i gleaned and yes you should ignore the new sign TFTC mr bitsprayer

16-Jul-20
Pick the right 2 and quite easy. Frosty though after spending the night in the domain. No cows to worry about though.

15-Jan-20
Found it. Tricky one is this.
TFTC

15-Jan-20
Driving back from Oamaru to Twizel with Aussie Pete. Had a bit of free time so we did a few caches on the way back. Didn't read the previous logs to start with. Once we discovered that the numbers didn't count up we checked again. Soon had the cache in hand. PS No cows to worry us. TFTC

03-Jan-20
The numbers on the plaques didn't make sense then I realised that one was newer than the cache, the new info made more sense and led straight to the cache. TFTC Bitsprayer

We were parked up here at the domain for the night so naturally we looked for nearby caches. We probably could have taken a better approach to this but had walked along the road, not too long it seems since a herd of cattle had done likewise but careful foot placement solved any issues.
Thank you Bitsprayer.

21-Nov-19
All set up for the night at the domain the balmy evening lend itself well for a stroll. We had already spotted the plagues and with the extra hints in the previous logs we soon had the coords worked out. We had some reservations about having chosen the right approach as a mob of cattle had preceded us not long before but at the right spot we gained access to the cache without problems. Thank you Bitsprayer

01-Nov-19
Did the numbers and they didn’t make sense. A quiet stroll back to the start quickly revealed the error. Silly drongo, only one of those two plaques has been here longer than the cache. A recast, another plaque found; numbers crunched, followed by a quick find. TFTC!!!

20-Oct-19
A nice quick find today. Getting the coords was more of a challenge as there are now 3 plaques! Easy enogh to find the correct ones though. Cheers.

Home from Oamaru, via the Waitaki and a few FTF up the A2O. Weather was great, though a little breezy up the head of Lake Pukaki.

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

20-Oct-19
Got it wrong, got it right and over the fence success! Tftc

25-Jan-19
Quick find once we plugged in the correct co-ord! Tftc!

18-Jan-19
Found while staying at the NZMCA park. TFTC.

02-Nov-18
A nice easy cache when you get the right coordinates. Helps if you use the correct information. TFTC.

03-Jun-18
#15718. We soon had some coords (back up the road a short distance). I walked back up the road, only to find I was on the wrong side of the fence. However, the fence was easily hurdled, and the cache was quickly found. TFTC.

03-Jun-18
Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our Queens Birthday weekend, on a most enjoyable Waimate - Kurow - Waimate round trip. It turned out to be a good choice to head inland as the weather was fine (though cold!) until we reached the coast on the last stage of our journey.
We first used the information from the two plaques that were beside each other, but soon realised that the numbers didn't stack up. Realising that a date on the newer plaque was several years after the date the cache was placed, we used the numbers from the 2 older plaques, and these gave plausible co-ords. A short time later, SW had found the cache. TFTC.

11-Feb-18
Staying in CV park. 2nd attempt got numbers right. Tftc

02-Jan-18
Thanks, found while staying at caravan park

29-Dec-17
Day 2 of our 6-Day End of the Year caching trip to Dunedin. We stopped, did the calculations but there was people camping in the domain so we didnt attempt it. Its so hot were gonna make a beeline to Bortons Pond and hopefully go for a dip. Thanks anyway.

26-Oct-17
Day 7 - of our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara, & myself) epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. With Geofest17 and Danseys Pass and A2O bagged, we are off exploring Oamaru again.
We left A2O when the rain started but thankfully this side of the domain was still dry - so the washing was all dry. Dinner is over so time to capture the info to solve this one. Snagged and tagged. Cheers

26-Oct-17
Tyabeedragon and I cycled most of the A2O from the elephants a few days ago. Now we are back, mopping up sections that we missed.
Heading home, and it is about time we do the two caches right outside our gate. Yes, we are staying here at the George Elliott Recreational Reserve, been here for four nights now. The name begs the question - was the name actually changed? And if so, why? If not, why is it labelled Awamoko Domain? A perfect cache to answer those questions. Alas, it doesn't.

22-Oct-17
Park, solve, drive, sign. TFTC. Found with Gadget and K.J.R

22-Oct-17
Up in Oamaru for day #2 of the Oamaru geofest. Out with Sirbennis and KJR grabbing lots of caches. TFTC

22-Oct-17
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.

My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.

Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.

Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. Finally we have made it to Oamaru and after a shower (1st in several days), a decent feed, and it was off to find a few more caches locally before calling it quites for the evening as we have a big day tomorrow to try and get to a point whereby we all get to acheive our individual set goals.

Funny to think that some time here many years ago the prime minister Robert Muldoon was celebrating the opening and cutting a ribbon, seems an unlikely place for dignitaries. We've done a few caches up around Hatfield's Beach where the late Sir Robert Muldoon had his holiday house. Times have changed, now our recent PM spent his hols playing golf in Hawaii with Obama. And I doubt JK would drive his own Holden Kingswood down to the beehive furiously followed by the secret service.

I digress...quickly got the numbers off the plaques and saw where the cache was. It's just starting in on rain and debating whether to walk or be soft and drive. No, walk it is. Got to GZ and signed the log and the heavens opened, seriously bucketing down and I had to leg it back to the car. Poor effort and saturated by the time I got to the car.

Liked the cache, thanks very much. There are many enjoyable sites for multis around here, thanks.

In Oamaru for the Geofest.
Day #2 out and about with Gadget169 and sirbennis.
Got the required numbers and cache soon located. TFTC

21-Oct-17
Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!

Day 4: With the lack of sleep starting to take a toll we finished Day 3 off early and got a few hours sleep before getting back to finding about 2am this morning. Todays mission was to find caches around Tekapo before heading South through the Mackenzine Country via Hakataramea Pass, and onto Dansey's pass before coming out on the coast and heading to Oamaru for the Geofest and caching around the area.

With our names on the log book at Geofest, our bags checked into our accomodation and our bellies full. What else could we do but more caching!!

Thanks for the multi.

Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

21-Oct-17
I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.

I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

21-Oct-17
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Our journey to the bottom of the South Island has been almost two years in the planning. We were determined to make it to Oamaru Geofest. We decided to also factor in completing a couple of missions (JASMER and Virtual challenges), and the wheels started turning...

Day Five: Oamaru Geofest

We decided to spend our morning in the north, around the Top Hat series. There were so many hides in this area. Today was going to be about piling on numbers... Gap and I worked out a system that helped to move things along, and it great that most hides were in good order and in play. Most caches were quick finds... A nice little offset. TFTC.

DAY 5
Another day with a variety of caches to be found, attended and answered.
Thanks to all the CO'S for their caches and the arrangement of the Oamaru Geofest. SLTFTC

17-Dec-16
Is this part of the domain?

09-Oct-16
I picked up the number a year ago but was pressed for time so decided to do the sums at home and grab this next the convenient time I was passing. Only a couple of vehicles in the domain.

25-Mar-16
Quickly found the plaques and did our calculations but the final appears to be on private property??? Found with Aoraki Sheep.

25-Mar-16
Had to wait for a farmer to leave a nearby paddock before we sneaked in to grab the final. Found with debsnz

09-Jan-16
Today was going to be a good day of caching. I decided to do this while waiting for my new caching to get ready. Not to certain whether the final is now on private property as this is now a separate paddock from the Domain.

Cheers for the cache.

07-Jan-16
Easy find. Camped close by it.

14-Dec-15

19-Sep-14
Multis weren't part of the plan for today but I was close and my water bottle was empty so I decided to have a look-see. And what do you know I found a cache on the first go with the maths. A very nice spot with one camper parked up from Whangarei. TFTC #6127

07-Jun-14
Found with Chosen1978. After rechecking the maths the cache was soon located and logbook signed.

07-Jun-14
Made the calculations and off we went in what we thought was the right direction, nothing made sense so we went back and recalculated to realise we had made a slight error. Upon reconfiguring the co-ords we approached the correct co-ordinates and though maybe we had it wrong again, but after reading previous posts thought we would carry on and we quickly had cache in hand, Thanks for the Multi, lovely area! Logged find with Granville86a

07-Jan-14
I doubted my math for a bit, but find it we did. TFTC

Headed out for a weekend of crazy caching with sharkiefan - it was all about numbers this weekend!
For me personally, I needed the numbers so that I could get enough caches to bring my average a day back up to 4 caches at least for this year, as on a streak it's not really possible to find heaps of caches in your home hood!

This was cache number 23 out of the 116 we found over the two days. And a huge thank you to all the cachers who put out all these caches! Loved the fun time we had - though weekend could have ended better!
Sorry for not writing cooler logs, but heading overseas in a couple days, and I don't exactly want to be behind in my logging then!! Razz Haha.

Consec caching day # 405

TFTC!! Smile

08-Oct-13
A quick find on our family trip from Wanaka to Oamaru. Collected the simple info and did the math. Our numbers didn't look quite right as we drove to gz so back to double check and frisk a few options. Hmmm everything looked ok so back to the answered coordinates which when we walked back held the cache. Should have trusted ourselves the first time.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.
