Logs
I noticed one person has not logged this one that has signed the logbook obviously saving them up to cheat to beat me like once before. Play fair.
I knew this one was there but was unable to get it out.
Walked away twice disappointed not to log it.
Today came by again and saw that it had been repaired and thanks to the last two finders is up and running again. Found a space in the logbook after someone in 2011 and signed my name to the list.

I had a feeling this one may still be long lost and lonely down that mighty metal pole. I mentioned to dahumbug the likely hood of it still being in existence and seeing as he was working in the area would he like to try and bring it back to life with me. Plans were made and we managed to pull the beasty from it's den of despair. Woohoo! Another archive ressurected

The determined hunter miss flutterby had been and done the intel on this one a little earlier and had sent me some shots and the link to ponder on. Thanks to that, it has always been in my head to have a crack at this cache. It was apparent that the container should be there, but just unreachable...according to the previous logs. Reading through the history, you could almost feel everybody's pain as 'they could see it, they just cant reach it' logs.
Well today I was all kinds of inspired to have a go at this one. I arranged to meet up up with evergreen miss flutterby and see what we could come up with. She had that look that she was confident in my abilities, but really I was only winging it, as per what a previous finder did.
Nyssa held the torch down the hole as we inspected the hide. We thought we could see the lid of the berocca, but it was covered up by the paper bag and alfoil of a garlic bread consumed from a major pizza brand. Things did not look good on the surface, or should I say sub surface. We had a magnet wand duct taped to a tent pole but the magnet was doing nothing. We had to take drastic action and get rid of this garlic offender. With a probe, and a probe, and lot more probing and prodding we were able to retrieve....the garlic bread wrapper. That was a start anyway.
After the removal of the garlic bread wrapper, the berocca container was very prominent. We could feel peoples pain as it was in sight, but out of reach. With a clear shot the magnet would still not pick up the container. We even tried shoving two ends of the tent pole down and twisting it so it would wrap around the container but that failed too. We weren't leaving until we had this thing in hand.
The obvious was in front of us...duct tape. We ripped off a strip of duct tape and attached it to the tent pole. A careful prod of the pole and all of a sudden the tape was attached to the berocca container. We could not believe our luck. We must of lifted the goods inch by inch, hoping there would be no slippage. We were amazed when the container came towards the top of the hole and we grabbed it with glee. Wow, we have it. The berocca container has a paperclip glued to the base of it and there was still a metre of the fishing line attached to it. It did amaze us that no one had tied it off after they had done the retrieval before.
After taking care of the formalities and ogling and signing the tatty logbook, we tied the container to the top of the hide and at present it can be easily retrieved. Just be careful with the line. This cache is all kinds good to go for the moment.
Thanks sniffme for the eventual tricky hide, and nyssa for including me. It had been 787 days since this one had an online found log logged against it, and even longer 956 days since someone had actually physically signed the logbook in the container and found it proper.
NOTE- Hazel is the colour of my eyes. Wouldn't be me without something random on the log.

Oh, well, I'll join the chorus with this one. No sign of the fishing line and something that could be the cache well beyond reach. Disappointing as i went out of my way to look for this one.
Note also that the CO won't accept a pic so the cache should be disabled as it's unachievable.

Like others I spotted the cache but there's currently no way of retrieving it or signing the log.
Very disappointing. Looked for a long time before finally reading logs. Could then spot the cache as others mention. I doubt that it will be able to be retrieved easily. It would be awesome if the cache owner or reviewer could temporarily disable this so others dont keep wasting their time Thanks for the idea behind the cache tho lol
We could see the cache and we could also see part of the fishing line but it is broken and we had no other means of retrieving the cache without the neighbours getting suspicious of our activity. Well have to come back when fixed!
Well I could see something, and based on the previous logs, I presume I had it...
I take it you were the person at the window...

Couldn't get it out but definitely found it! Nice idea, needs new fishing line though.
I arrive at GZ, with out ready the Logs. Hunted in all the "usual" places. I then located it or what I think is the cache. I did not have any "Tools" to fish this out. Believe this may need a special tool or the retrieval tool has gone.
Ghostgums, MrMeccano & I had two attempts at this today....
the support/retrieval string has failed due to UV degradation of rough handling so special tools now required - unfortunately we weren't quite kitted out well enough today...
Even came back for a second try after finding some wire at another nearby cache but it wasn't rigid enough to be effective..
maybe next time...

I used a bit of fishing string and hook that was in the back of my ute, to retrieve the cache. realized that wasnt the way once extracted and I felt the original line attached (also feeling a bit silly to be holding part of a fishing pole out in the street) anyway we used the original line to lower the cache back into its location after signing the log. I could go back and "fish" it out again to repair if needed. its not too far from my home.
We did find the cache, but just couldn't reach it! It looks like the fishing line has become frayed and broke. We tried using a walking stick and even found some wire, without luck!
before i saw what could help i had my own method of fishing out the cache...signed the log and replaced. thanks for the cache! good one.
Quite stressful due to not being able to hide while opening etc. One older stern-looking muggle staring down from above once we had found it and were committed. Still, clever cache, took us a while even with the hint. Got it eventually and completed our 4-cache walking loop. TFTC!
Thanks. Suggest use braid instead of line due to wear & brittle from heat. Tftc SL tsln jumbucks 24 December 2011 11:43am
Easy and quick find. What a clever hide! When I read the hint and make a sense. TFTH SL

Had previously done a drive-by scoping this one out but couldn't stop with GeoBaby in the car. Came back today and the hint immediately gave away where it was. Great hiding place - TFTC!
Hooked a snag while reeling this one in, but geowife persevered and landed it. TFTH
We were thrown initially as the street sign was missing but got back to it quickly Tftc
Yep, drove straight on by, until we realised we'd missed Hazel. Wandered back down and went fishing. Caught a beauty today! TFTC
No dramas with this one today. I reckon these are even a bit trendy at present! TFTC again Sniffme.
Grabbed this on a morning stroll while in Brisbane for work. It's a very similar hide to our own cache (Guvnar) in Canberra.
An early start to the day and a brisk walk from our accommodation to the GZ.
Only one likely cache hide presented.
A brief search, followed by a read of the hint and all was soon revealed.
Thanks again sniffme for yet another well placed, sneaky hide.

Up in Brisbane for the day from Adelaide (for work) and I had some time to spare ... this grouping of caches looked like a nice walk.
This is only the second cache I have found like this , and the other one was in Brisbane too. Nice. TFTC sniffme

Find 3/3 for the night, took a minute to locate, but a great hide and a good find..

Having found a cache setup similar before I knew what I was looking for.
thank goodness as this one was more subtle and I would not have worked it out.

Had to look twice for a retrieval tool for this one but soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
After a late lunch and an excellent coffee at a nearby establishment, our spirits were raised and we were most delighted to find a cache after a string DNFs! Nicely hidden too.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
A very overlooked spot but think I managed a successful extraction without arising too much suspicion. TFTC
Gave this one a go yesterday but didn't see the fishing line and figured the cache had fallen donw
Luckily we were wrong and headed back today to add our scribe to the log

Finally I have got this one. I approached this one tonight - keep an eye out for muggles. The situation seemed "different" than the last time I visited. I managed to retrieve the cache and sign the log. The log is starting to get a bit tattery. Thanks for the challenge and the cache, sniffme
at 14:23. Don't know what the trouble was. We caught the fish.
TFTC again Sniffme. The cache is fine.

Unfortunately this one is at the bottom of the pole and unreachable. We did looked up at the windows nearby but couldn't see you. Are you able to retrieve it and rehook it back up?
Looks like we never looked hard enough. Seems there are many ways to catch a fish. Will be back. Thanks
Another good one for the bike, nice hide, might do something similar. TFTC SL
Previous dude, you didn't look hard enough.

Had no trouble retrieving the container, Geobrother just "fished" it out. TFTC
A quick find whilst out caching with Geobrother. Took TB, left nothing.

Cache has come away from the fishing line, can be seen but too far down to be retrieved.
Enjoyed walking around the streets looking at the wonderful old homes, even though it was way to hot for a South Island Kiwi! Cache was spotted, as described, but unfortunately the container was not retrievable, so no way to sign log.
We were lucky to score a carpark directly across from the cache so could make a quick dash and retrieve. TFTC
Well, are you the elderly chap living in the flat with the green bars around the balcony? If so, you saw us on our first (aborted) attempt when we saw you watching us! If not, then we may have saved the cache from being muggled as a direct result of our actions . Parking around here is AWFUL, so we split the team and while I maintained a spot nearby on alert for muggles, my geobuddy made a dash for the cache, which was exactly where we'd predicted. We had a pretend conversation to fool two passing muggles before we replacing it and scarpering. TFTC! =^.^=
The third cache of the afternoon after flying in a bit early from Cairns for a meeting. A good hide and the coords were spot on.The log is a bit tatty and may benefit from a refresh. I signed it and left a "Traditional Micro"geocoin. Didn't see anyone peeping out of the windows. Thanks for the cache and the leg stretch along the hills on Brunswick Street.
I rescind my previous note about this one need looking at by the Owner. I should not have just looked at the previous finder's log and thought a bit more about it. I shall re-visit shortly
As previously said - this one has indeed gone wayward. It is still there - but retrieval is an issue. Nees a cache owner visit.
Genius! I had to read the logs to realise that a line has two ends... Just brilliant. TFTC!
Attempted this one last Sunday but was fooled by the fishing wire. I actually spotted the cache container and figured I couldn't get to it so I was going to log it as a DNF and request maintenance. Fortunately I read a recent log and realised I was a numpty for being fooled so easily (intended or not ). Anyway I decided to finish off the today's caching with another attempt which this time was successful.

No trouble for me - Aussie L did all the work. I just took photos. Now if I had been the one to look there.....
Not one muggle anwhere while we fooled around with this light pole for ages. This was certainly a lucky caching day.We loved our drive around this old part of Brisbane today. The rain held off until just after we finished the last cache. Took sneaky photo of verandah on gracious old home beside the street.

[Ha, ha, ha! LOL! Reading the logs at least helps me know I'm not the only silly one. I had the same experience. Back to the car as obviously something else was needed to retrieve the cache as the end of the line had nothing on it. Ha, ha, ha! Silly me!] There are two ends to a piece of line! LOL! [We did it the hard way and only then did we see our error. LOL! And still smiling!]

Had to use my rucksack to retrieve it as it had gone off the line! Tricky!! TFTC.

How the bleeding hell am i meant to get that, he fishing line is broken.
Wait... i are dumb.

when i first looked at this cache i thought "how am i going to get that, what kind of stupid person put that there"
a closer inspection revealed it was i who was stupid, and it is in fact very easy to get the cache, good work

I spent 5 minutes looking for something to get the cache out haha nice little hide certainly a good alternative to eclipse mint tins. At least berroca containers are for the most part water proof. Anyways happy hunting all
With Alchemy2 - she found it before me. no one at the window - must be at work. SL. Thanks sniffme
Found the GZ quickly and knew what I was looking for but I made it hard for myself. As I returned it, I saw that it could have been much easier if I had looked more closely at the start. TFTC
Third of 4 caches on an 8km walk this evening. I had to use the clue... it was 21:45 and limited light prevented me spotting the tell-tail signs. Unfortunately I'd left my pencil in an earlier cache and had to use the red crayon to try and make my mark in the log book.
Nice hide - thanks!

Quick to find. But how to retrieve. For exposed but pointed torch down hole. What is that other thing? Back to car for long extraction tool. In process discovered far better method. But the other thing is someone elses fancy retrieval devise that I got out with my stick. If you read this and want it back please feel free to contact. TFTC
