We're sorry to have to archive this cache - our first permanent loss. Someone has taken the receptacle in which the cache was hidden and we're not in a position to create another.
Cache is in the open about 10 m fro GZ. No sign of the hide. Will come up with something.
I had heard that this cache was a very clever hide, however I found it just sitting out in the open without any cover or any obvious hiding spot.
Found after a quick search. Watched by a nearby kookaburra. TNLN. Thanks for organising the cache.
TFTC quick find, took bouncy ball, left ring

Last find in Launceston before heading back to Hobart, and I was surprised at just how bold this hide was. The management knows about this cache, yes? Like some other cachers have said, the hint didn't click until after finding the cache - but that's fine, it gave me a smile!
A beautiful day for caching and we were able to meet up with our friend from Western Australia, Urch. We headed off to find a few caches and this was one we targeted. Nice hide thanks GoldJ
Great hide GoldJ. I didn't get the significance of the clue until *after* finding the cache... DOH
Thanks for bringing us to admire franklin house en route to relbia.taken geocoin and
will try to help it on its mission.tftc!

I was looking for somewhere to have my lunch so this cache looked ideal. Happened to arrive on a maintenance day. The grounds were buzzing with people working on the gardens. While I had lunch read the hint and had a good idea then what I was looking for.
Had to wait for the elderly gentlemen who was watering the potato crop to move before I could pounce. Nice hide. The people who care for the grounds must know it's there and ignore it.

I actually picked up the cache and put it back down not realising until we read the hint. Love the hint as well! Clever hide. Logged the cache and on the walk back to the car a lovely lady asked us if we were doing the GPS thing. She said she has never seen the cache and after explaining caching to her she seemed really keen to try it herself. Said that as she was retired it would be something great to do apart from all that time she'd be spending with her husband! Hah, that made me laugh. Great cache and lovely area. TFTC.
This was a great hide of a type we had never seen before. We`had to disguise our prescence as there was a couple having lunch sitting at the back of their vehicle and facing us. We took advice of a highly experienced geocaching mate who once told me that most people take no notice of you and the didn't. Thanks to Goldj for the cache and Sirius for the great advice.
We were going for this one, but with a wedding on, we thought better of it. Sounds like it is a cool cache though. Hopefully next time.
Loved the hide. Thank you for bringing us to this lovely old house. No TB's in residence as listed.
Found by Team Ladava while hosted by the cache owners as we had a small window of time to catch up with them on our trip to Tasmania prior to the arrival of our non-Geocaching friends.
This one 'ticked a lot of boxes' for us.
A wonderful of historic old building, informative cache notes and a clever and good size hide.
Locations like this are 'the icing on the cake' of Geocaching with the locals hosting us to their favourite spots.
A clever hide that took a minute or two to spot.
TNLN
Our thanks to GoldJ for the cache and their wonderful hospitality.
My apologies for the tardy log.
Cheers

Been meaning to do this cache for a while. Nice quick find, clever hide. Swapped one marble for another.
Lucky the monsy part of monsynip was quick on the clue making this a quick find. There were no TBs inside only a few swaps and a live black spider who escaped pretty quickly. Great camo goldj. TFTC.
Clever. Good old ABC from when our kids were young made the clue mean something and thus a quick find.
Well done GoldJ TFTC

Very very clever. The weight was the clue ... Say no more! Left geonickel, took cow, SL, TFTC!
Great cache. Lots of challenge, love GoldJ's work a true craftsman! TFTC TN Left fishing lure.
Neat hideout. GoldJ you are a legend!! Moved it but didn't realise, decided to look again.....CHALLENGE PLUS!
great hide, nice history village. Glad to visit this place thanks for bringing us here.
On the way to the airport, stopped in to grab this one. Easy find. Do Franklin House know about this? It felt like I was in someone's backyard...

After getting a DNF on FV2, I thought this might be easier. The markets were on, so I had a look, while walking to gz. At gz though, I was lost. The hint didn't help, and then after reading the logs, I went back and checked something that looked a little out of place, but not. Ahhh, Camo, great hide. Grabbed cache and SL. TNLN. Returned, checked around for muggles and replaced camo. Love this one. TFTC.

Read the hint, thought who are Benjamin and William? All became clear when we found GZ. Great hide and the cockroach thought so too!
Found this one with the assistance of the hint after a search. Very cleverly hidden. Swapped a blue porcupine for the red bear. TFTC
While the boys stayed put, we set out to chase down our 1000th find. On the way we picked up a FTF that was released last night. Did the cache across the road for find 999 and eagerly trotted over here.
EB99 was unsure whether we could enter the premises as it was after visiting times, but I was not to be denied.
Charging down the driveway led me to a search area around GZ and then I pulled up short. I looked here. I looked there. I checked under that. I checked over there.
Arrgh - would I get a DNF instead, I thought.
'No, have patience I told myself. Try harder.
So I did.
I turned to the clue. Hmmm, thinking of the historical significance of the property I tried to pin down the part that was played by them in the past.
......
......
.......
Ahhhhh! Illumination.
I grabbed the cache and screamed like a girl as there was a great big black spider jumping out at me. I don't like spiders at all. I assume they don't like me.
I satisfyingly signed the log, noted there were no trackables in the cache, and replaced the most excellent cache.
I think a very fitting cache for my milestone. thank you GoldJ for the cache.
(All the trackables with us paid a visit in celebration)

The historic feature was closed today so we were able to amble to gz unhindered and unobserved. Geo-missus spotted the excellent camo job straight away.
Darn, 3 out of 3 DNFs. So much for my first Tassie caching expedition. I know I was in the right spot, but darn GPS was swinging around all over ground zero. I needed Cache Girl with me to find the hidden treasure, as it eluded my eyes.
Better luck next time ...!
Better luck next time ...!
Found with bedmaker. Very clever hide and in a beautiful historic area. I've been meaning to come here for a while so thanks for giving me the excuse. TFTC
Found with TassieGirl 13, we arrived at a nice quiet time so had the area around GZ to ourselves.
I spied the then likely spot but had to look twice to really make sure that was it.
Very cool hide. We had a look around this old place a little and then wandered over to the next find accross the road.
No swaps this time but TFTC.

I had the place to myself due to the atrocious weather so I could explore the place at will. I loved the hide and will probably shamelessly mimic it, very cool!!! Wandering around the garden was interesting and will be more so once the electrical work is finished. I also had the museum to myself but did not stay long as the operators wanted to go home. Many thanks GoldJ for placing a cache in this interesting site of history.
3rd cache for day - found less with Fox and wolf less than 5 minutes after one across the road. Loved it!
LOL - I think I walked right past this one, only to have Moneydork find it. D'oh! Cheers Gav [5959]
A clever wee hide - found in the dark after my cacheing buddy missed it. Ha Ha...
We didn't understand the significance of the clue until we got near GZ - they were very formal names for characters we had watched on TV 30+ years ago with our children. TFTC
This looks like a most interesting place to come back to and explore further. Too late today to do it justice so will have to come back again. Needed to avoid the gardner to track this one down, hidden in a very clever spot. TNLN Thanks for the hunt GoldJ.
What a clever hide Goldj! Very early Sunday morning so no one around. Took travel Bug left Deer. TFTC
Hi GoldJ, How good and clever a hide. Found quickly, but all the volunteers working the area made it difficult to extract. I managed the find at 1654hrs, My 15th find of 18 today and my 450th overall; thanks for the memorable milestone. Now to across the road. TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
We found the cache, then wandered about the building. Then, as we were about to leave, we were told we had to pay to wander the building. So we paid and we got to wander the building again, but this time with a guide to wander the building with us. 8yo cacherboy got rather sick of it and had to stop wandering about the building and wandered about the garden instead.
Good hiding spot.
Left a TB
Thanks GoldJ

Dropped off hot wheels bug into this clever cache hide at this interesting historical homestead.
Okay we are at 3rd Cache for the morning and so far 2 for 2. Again a beautiful location and we are fairly sure we were in the right spot, but just couldn't locate the cache.
Again we will have to return with Mrs Pigbag for another look. No hardship as will make a nice trip out of it.

After completing the nearby Franklin Village Too we headed across the road to this one, it's not very often that you get two caches from one car park, this was a bonus. We started searching and unfortunately had no luck when we decided to decode the hint which at first didn't help us and then the penny dropped. The cache was in found not long after in a spot we had already checked. After we finished the paperwork we went off to inspect the lovely veggie gardens and to make it even better we wound up meeting GoldJ latter today
Thanks for an excellent cache in an interesting area

Found by Mary & David with Team Crackers at 1115. Another double cache from one car park. Took a while, even with four sets of eyes. A joy to walk through the gardens to see vegetables and flowers being watered. We belong to the national Trust, so we'll have to come back to do the full inspection next trip. Our thanks once more to GoldJ.
Found it at 12:00. TNLN. We had a nice talk with Ray the gardener. Looks like he knows a lot about hidden caches around this area. Thanks.
A very clever cache. Would love to tell how we worked it out but that would make it too easy for future cachers. Well done!!!Dropped off a TB that we have had in our possession for way to long mainly because we haven't found a container big enough to leave it in. Thanks.
It was nice to have a bit of a wander through the gardens here after the drive up from Hobart.
Never been in here before and as I understood immediately the clue reference the find was a sinch.
Nicely done
Thanks GoldJ

Had interesting conversation with ladies looking after the property.

Initial look in the wrong spot until discovering a potential hide.....then the hint twigged....I like the way you think...very devious and clever....great cammo with a lot of effort. Great cache location....even the fences made of brick have character. Thoroughly enjoyed this cache...many thanks GodJ.....Cheers.
For some reason i walked str8 to this hide....don't ask me why
Maybe it has been talked about around the tribe table b4
Congrats on a good hide
All is well at GZ

Ended up finding this after a great deal of searching. Looking back it was a great hint but not for me as I had not heard of them until I asked the better half. Shows my age a bit or is that I had a pure upbringing? TNLN Thanks
This was my favorite so far, great hint, got the hint straight away, still took some looking though......
This was found very quickly as i'd already looked at the hint! Great hide though - never seen one like that before I've never been here before even though i've lived in Launceston for years. Thanks for a really good cache.
The kids and I thought this cache was fantastic, we love great camos like this, we had a coule of ideas from the hint before we left, one of which was on the money. We counted no less than 10 volounteer gardeners, they didnt really give us a second look but it turns out they normally work on fridays but due to a holiday they were in early... I have a newspaper cutting from the early 80s of myself at franklin house on a school excursion, I also spent a lot of time between 8 and 15 yo at the 1st Franklin Village cub/scout troop just down on the corner of Relbia road. The old hall is now a residence and all the gear long gone but it always brings back great memories when I am in this area. Thanks for the great cache GoldJ
Gu and I were the 3rd to find after Chilli and Swampy. We were a bit slow, haha! Nice hide, nice garden. TNLN
Got sprung going in as the tea room ladies were leaving....
Had a wander around the gardens and soon had the cache in hand.
Is it going to fill up when it rains?
TNLN. Thanks
