Found the laneway right along side the Victoria hotel where we were staying for the weekend. Its a very busy area even at 8.30 on a sunday morning so had to wait a few minutes for muggles to pass by. Once gone it wasn't too long before the cache was in hand. Thanks iamapom. Met another cacher at the location later that day ( portable gps in hand was a giveaway! ) and had a nice chat whilst he waited for a break in muggle activity.
An early morning ride in town, and this one was marked of the list. Thanks iamapom. TFTH...SL...TNLN

That was a bit of fun! Had stayed here last time we were in Melbourne and that would have been the closest cache ever! Log could use some TLC but otherwise a good fun cache amongst lots of muggles.
Found with Joanie while strolling around Melbourne on a beautiful festive and very warm sunny afternoon, thanks!
Thank you for this cache. We had to be careful not to be detected by Muggels- found the keyholder quickly and went to have a drink in the Cabinet Bar round the corner.
Found it this time. Google maps led me astray before .. that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
I'm getting better with these subtle grabs. Lots of people around on lunch breaks so had to be quick. Interesting alley (and smells). Plenty of history around this area. P.S. Needs a new log book.
Was at a conference and tried to introduce 2 of my colleagues to geocaching using my iphone. Couldn't find this one the first time and went back with one of my colleagues who was delighted to find the cache herself. TFTC
Having Mrs RC for cover and an extra set of eyes proved very helpful. Signed and replaced without incident. TFTC
Was worried after reading some of the logs that we would have trouble with this one. But with the clue in mind I found it straight away-Yay to me! TFTC
We looked and looked but couldn't find it. I guess we were looking in the wrong place.
Had a good old look around here and FAILED DISMALLY!!!!
Whilst I think I get the hint and looked in the 'scraped' "hinted" locations, I still didn't find it.
Even tried the old camera phone on video mode to help look, but no good.

Me and the younger two girls found this one while on a caching day in the city and none of us were full. snuck away to fill in the log to keep the muggles at bay.
2nd crack at this one and this time is a goer ! - plenty more lanes to go as on the way out they were the only ones doing business !- tftc iamapom
Nice easy find with me acting as cover for the missus SL, Left token, TFTC.
I had to log this online as when I logged it from my phone it showed as another cache. Maybe I hit the wrong cache in the sun glare off the screen, or...

Had not clue where to search. Maybe we were to sober and should search again after a thorough drinking?
Had to wait for truck to move from lane after it left no problem sl tftc
We went back for a second time to find this cache, but unfortunately we didn't find it. .
Anyway; greetings from Holland !

16:25 Found this one easily enough. Took the hint though as missed it on the first pass. Nicely placed, our first find for the day of the 3 we tried, thus restoring our much dwindled spirits. Thanks iamapom! SL

Well the area was rather 'full' this evening, however, a quick drive by had it nabbed! No one seemed to notice us lurking about. T4TC

A spot that really doesn't deserve a cache... you were obviously wasted when you placed it (no offence here!). Found it together with Phallax. T4TC and greetings from Switzerland!
We were staying in the establishment so managed to nab this one when there were no muggles about TFTC.
Tried to find this while I was staying at the Victoria (which was fairly convenient) but unfortunately could not find this not as 'obvious' as the hint made it out to be!
Had a bit of experience with city caches, but this one had us stumped. Four of us searching every nook and cranny for about 20 minutes turned up nothing!
While the girls were shopping AC and T took a walk. T found this quite easy. /AC-MM+TA
Gidday maaate !
Looked in the obvious place but was not there and the second obvious place and still was not there - gonna put a watch on it - thanks any way iamapom

A rather apt cache to find after a length lunch in the area.
This was our last cache for the day and the 21st of a two day caching/drinking trip to Melbourne.
Have to go home now.

Yay, found it but didn't have a pen so I took a photo to prove I found it (can email if required). Some muggle 'nothing to see here' tactics were used for this one but got it eventually. TFTC
Took us a while to find it. Had to spend a lot of time avoiding muggles though.

This was the second in my 'find all those annoying CBD caches that have eluded me for too long' morning pre-work meeting cache run...
Luckily the shop across the way wasn't open so had some peace to finally check thoroughly and at last get the cache safely in hand. Slightly strange individual started a conversation with me as I was trying to sign - wondered if he might be a cacher, but no, just a weirdo. (Yes, I know we're weirdos too, but he was just a generic CBD weirdo).
Log is very wet - sodden even. Will need replacing.

Thanks for the cache! Had no idea this street even existed but had fun finding it. Cache is very wet but still readable. Didnt take too long to find but quite a few mugglers were giving us strange looks! Had to put new paper in this cache because it was full so we took the $2 coin (and donated it to the christmas salvo charlity' because it wouldnt fit!
Love these caches because they always take us to places we've never been!

Quick find thanks to description GPS very poor, wonder if cellphones GPS any better? TFTC
We really wanted to find this one and it seemed like there were too many muggles. In the end the opportunity arose and we siezed the moment. Thanks iamapom

Nice easy find, just had to wait for a multitude of Muggles to disperse including one that chose to take his smoko 5m from the cache.
This is my 250th GC.COM Cache. Yay
Thanks for the cache

Other 'Lane' caches today were more elusive, but I'm glad I found this one towards the end of a touristy caching day. Discreetly loitered, pretending I was texting (actually checking my geocache navigator...) and there it was! TFTC! Plan to tackle the other lanes on my return to Melb... hopefully sooner rather than later!
This is a tricky cache... in that there are 3 or 4 blokes in the mens clothing shop opposite who are getting VERY SUSPICIOUS of people hanging about here.... (not to mention the muggles and taxi drivers and weirdo's hanging about), anyway after I made the grab (during a long 'phone call') one of these men seemed to find it necessary to stand outside his shop watching everyone including me... so I had no choice but to leave the GZ taking the cache with me.
So, my apologies if you were looking between 12:20 and 1:15pm today - it was in my pocket !
I think I got it back ok... then a weirdo woman emerged from somewhere cursing me for all her troubles... !!
Hope it survives - suggest only looking when the shops are closed?

Second attack on this one but I got it in the end. I think the people in the shop across the street are suspicious.
Found this while doing the rounds of a few city caches we hadn't got yet. We weren't really sure what the hint was alluding to, but we found it in the end. The log itself appears to be 'rather full', and we managed to find a duplicate cache in the next lane over. TFTC
Found while completely sober, although I did have to call the EuDes help line and I think he was sober (although I couldn't swear to it in court !)
I first spent a while looking at one bump, then the security dudes came along and closed up the big gates to the laneway. I rang EuDes who pointed me to the other bump but nothing was found. I then searched in a couple of other places and found the cache in a spot where I suspect it had crept to. I replaced the cache where EuDes had found it and I think according to the clue.
This is 8th of iamapom's laneway caches I've done and have enjoyed the little insights he's given to the city's history. Well done and thanks.

Tried to find this one while spending the day in the city away from the Mel cup races. What bump is this referring to? Couldn't find a bump & no obvious place for a cache (as there were thousands of possible spots!) Spent quite a while searching for this one but couldn't locate it. Coords were out of whack & we didn't think this wad a nice laneway at all, thought it was very grimy & dirty!
Very pleased to find my aim was to find one cache while visiting Melbourne. Have been to Hairspray and Mary Poppins Been to the museum and seen Phar Lap and the Titanic Experience. Rained most of the time but a great weekend.
In the evening nobody was around so I could find and log the cache without problems.
Thanks!

Thanks!

My first in Melbourne's CBD on my work trip here this week and after a couple of minutes of searching I had this one in hand. It was then a matter of just sitting nearby to sign the log, replace the cache and be on my way. TFTC
Found 24/10/2010 10:45 . I'd made a previous unsuccessful attempt on this cache a couple of months ago ... Obviously my caching mojo was not with me that day [B)]
On the way to Yum Cha this morning I walked straight up and found the cache in the first place I looked ... a place I had overlooked last time

Out for a morning of caching in the city in the drizzling rain. Had to look for a while, but not too many muggles around so I was able to check all the likely spots.
Nice hide - Thanks iamapom
