I have been to try and find WP 3 times with no luck so today armed with all the information i could get from previous logs and photos, one in particular and the hint i decided my luck on trying just to find the cache. My husband reluctantly followed me and when we got to a place that looked like it might be the hiding spot he said i was mad and i would never find it. He did go along with for awhile but then headed off . No sooner than he left i made the find. What a great day to be a geocacher. Gee mu husband was so surprised when i said i found it. I will have a smile now every time i pass WP1 . Thanks Seizer for all the fun
I met with ShaDup at this spot in Dayboro and collected the info needed for the final. We made our way about our plans for the day first around town and then finished with this one not too far away. I really love this little town. We loved our time here with friends during the mega and it was lovely to come back today with more caching friends weve met since then. At GZ the cache was found pretty quickly safe on high ground.
With the purpose of doing Poohsticks today I met up with Duppers early for coffee and a few extra caches while we waited for ATLH to arrive. Now that ATLH has joined us, we moved onto this one. After we did a couple of We GEO caches, we headed to this one. As we knew this one to be a bit harder, we treated it systematically it didnt take too long and soon found the prize. Signed as ATLH & ShaDup.I found your cache, The Cache of Yesteryear today. This is my 3264 find.Seizer, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
This is our first find for Dayboro area. We are staying at the show grounds for a few days geo hunting. We had the park to ourselves. Spent a bit of time looking. Gotcha. Tftc
Well this took a while to find standing under an umbrella in the rain. Geoian finally found it and off we went to find the final. Nice park and over to the rock wall to sign the log and replace as found. TFTC
This took an age to find getting rained on. With an audience. Quick find once at final gz. Not sure why it's disabled,. TFTC
On a whirlwind trip over from WA to pick up our caravan and head back to WA, nice to be able to grab a few easy caches along the way.
Lovely town but extremely busy, first waypoint directly across from the busiest bakery ever! (But delicious chicken burgers! ️) Not to be put off we managed to locate with no probs and final not too far away!
Thank you Seizer for placing and maintaining The Cache of Yesteryear for us and others to find and enjoy.

Out with my favourite Geo friends getting some more caches. What a lot of fun today has been. TFTC
Seizer I found your cache The Cache of Yesteryear on 31/3/2023, 11:05 am. This is my find 4887 and find # 1 today. Arrived at waypoint 1 and wasn’t sure what I was looking for. A brief search and soon had the final coordinates. A quick and easy find at GZ with good coordinates and help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
Day 2 of our stay in Dayboro to find all those puzzles we solved in anticipation of the mega. Sadly we were then going to WA and we knew the borders would be closed to us if we came to Qld.
Today we rode the bikes into town and did the AdLab and some of the touristy stuff including the art gallery and tourist info. Back to the van for lunch and then we headed out to start the Horse Series - much easier going than yesterday with nice safe parking for all of them. Some of them took a bit of time to find so we didn't get as many done as we intended and then we took a small detour into the ditch and had to winch ourselves out - might be time to go and have a cuppa.
The coordinates had us at the mailbox so we needed some advice to search further afield.
Thanks for contributing to the fun Seizer

Staying in the area for a few days this morning we targeted this multi. It was quite a search at WP1 and we widened our search a little and there it was well hidden. With the coords loaded we had a walk to GZ where we found the cache. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Seizer for this one.
We’ve had many a false start on this multi over the years. Each time we turned up it seemed to be rush hour at the bakery and it’s hard to look inconspicuous when you are oozing sexy out of every pore.
Each time we looked for the first waypoint we felt like all eyes were on us. I’m not sure if the people liked what they saw or were filming us for information about an upcoming crime.
Rather than spoil the broth I put out an emergency SOS to a previous finder that we had met at the Mega with one simple question. Do we need to enter the yard? When it came back that we didn’t the hunt was on and we felt a lot more confident. Yesterday we uncovered the coordinates and today we were able to stamp the log. tftc

In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.

Final Day of the Dayboro Mega. Out caching with Burgo78 and BenM70 TFTC Seizer
Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.
Another rainy morning didn’t deter us from heading out on a southern loop to pick up counties and Queens Land (Qld’s oldest). Again, teaming up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! and Albida33 signing logs as MiNiFiGA’s to also tackle the balance of We <3 Geo, Geosaurus, and Pac-Man, as well as part of the Coat of Arms Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Unfortunately, we were late back and didn’t get to attend the closing ceremony.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

24,297. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes, and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!
With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 6. Not quite such an early but still wet start today with an aim of caching our way through finishing all of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way, then doing a loop around collecting counties and QLD's oldest. This was the next stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks CacheQLD and all the other Cache owners !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Dayboro trip. Day 11. The third day of the mega was another wet day, but not quite as bad as predicted. Things were quiet onsite so we headed off fairly quickly. Today Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss & I finished off the caches closest to Dayboro we had not got to before heading into Brisbane and surrounding counties for the oldest cache in QLD and ticking off counties. The final goal for the day was as much of the Coat of Arms caches as we could get to before it was too dark. The drive home from Esk to Dayboro was another wet nighttime mountain drive, but we had a warm welcome at the ACT Chateaux before finally retiring for the night.
We did the legwork for this multi earlier in the day and fitted the final into our mornings caching. At least this one worked out smoothly.
Thanks for the cache Seizer

Out in the rain for the final night in Dayboro to pick up a few caches of interest. This multi, and maybe a few tree fishing cashes.

After completing the Roses and the Horses geoart yesterday and the Pac-Man, Geosaurus and the Heart around Dayboro today.
We visited the waypoint this morning and we had time for just a couple more after the closing ceremony this evening.
The neighbours dog wasn’t happy but I was able to make the find in the dark without too much disturbance.
No issues here other than the rain. Happy to collect some of the 850+ solved puzzles on my list.
Log signed as BBE.
Thanks Seizer for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Hitting up the trails around Dayboro today. All caches were quickly found unless otherwise indicated. Caching in a group and signed as MiNiFiGA! TFTC
Part 'A' sorted then across the road for some sustenance, then onto part 'B'. A wet squishy walk but all good here.
Found with goldielover and trickyt today. Visit to the mega event. Great cache. TFTC
Tftc seizer, interesting multi, so many muggles, felt that we were being watched.

Today with Day 2 of the Dayboro Mega event, I returned back to Dayboro to attempt a solo yet full day of finding the various solved *Horse* and *We* ?? *Geo* geoart, as well as any other interesting cache types. The weather was rather damp with a continuous pour of rain and showers, and although the light rain was tolerable, there were a few periods of heavy downfalls that were rather miserable. I ran into many other Geocachers during the day, and once my last remaining natural light was lost, I headed back home, grabbing a fast food dinner on the way.
Yesterday I found Waypoint 1, and rather than visiting Waypoint 2 nearby, I continued on with my travels. However, upon returning to Dayboro town to have a break over lunch, I made the short walk to GZ, where after a little search, I managed to make a cache find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Seizer for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Dayboro Day 3
Hubby was out on his bike heading into town & he stopped to locate this cache.
Another wet day we have decided to target mostly AL hoping to keeping dryer.
The finds were mostly along backroads, & small country towns. It's always good caching in the country.
This also included a drive around Lake Samson, with a few fishing caches found on land.
Thankyou Seizer for placing this cache.

TFTC. We went for walk into town during a lull in the rain with Mr muff1. On the way back to the mega site we stopped at the final GZ (we had found the final at WP1 yesterday). Apart for a plover trying to welcome us to the area it was an uneventful find
Yesterday we were in town and we collected the first waypoint but with other things to do and the rain happening we decided to leave it for today. Well, today it is still raining but hubby and Hans went for a walk to see if they could find the cache container and they did. SL TFTC
At our first Mega. Blown away by the amount of preparation that has been done. Bit of a shame about the weather but at least we were allowed out of lockdown!! Out this afternoon (due to boredom ) finding some nearby caches before the weather gets even worse (well that’s what’s predicted!!). Thanks Seizer for this cache. It’s much appreciated. Obviously way too wet for plovers but not obviously for parrots (especially grey ones). Did upset the neighbours dog though!!
Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.
Glad to grab a multi in town on what was a busy morning. The plovers at GZ had us on our toes
Thanks for the cache.

Found with a few others as we wandered around town. The first point was tricky until we got around to the right side. it was tucked away nicely out of the weather which was a good thing as it was raining today.
Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??
The problem with trolls is sometimes they sit down to think about things and just don’t get up again. There’s definitely more stone walls around the city than there used to be.
In Dayboro for the Mega event on a very wet easter weekend. Down in town for lunch and we thought this would be a convenient one to look for while here. As we drove past to find a park, an obvious bunch of cachers started giving us directions to where the cache was - we must obviously look like cachers too. It was hard to understand exactly what they were saying all at one through the car window but I think we got the gist that we did not need to enter the closed off information centre so that was a definite bonus. After parking, in light rain, we headed to gz of WP1 and soon got hold of it taking a photo of the next co-ords.
Before lunch, we went for a stroll in the park, umbrella in hand bumping into various other geocachers on the way to and for. Dayboro is swarming with us.
Once at the final gz, it was a long search. There were so many likely spots. Rock walls are not exactly my favourite search location. Luckily due to the rain we were left to ourselves and the neighbours were not out in their yards to notice us lurking down below. We had to brave the grass patch on the way guarded by plovers but managed to reach the wall unscathed. The brightish container was finally found half buried in dirt and higher than our heads.
So glad to finish this one off...
#2762 @ 1335h And excited to grab the Great Red Spot stamp for our Solar system passport which may actually be the last one needed to finish off the World Explorer challenge...

Grabbed whilst attending the Dayboro Mega which I’m grateful to be attending. Here’s hoping I’ll be able to get back through the Victorian border at the end. Enjoyed the hunt. TFTC Seizer.
We decided to try this multi after failing to get the right numbers for the other multi.
Did the searching for the WP with Giraffe ?? 18, 2manytrailers and Peppa the other week. Did the final today while we were here for the Mega. Thanks for the cache ????
With a crazy plan to try and find as many caches types as possible in one day, this cache became a target as the only multi I had left to do in the area... we’d visited the starting waypoint a week ago where Giraffe18 came up trumps...
It was interesting today to sit at the bakery today and watch other groups hunting for the starting point...

We're staying in Dayboro showgrounds for the MEGA event. Today our challenge is to get as many different types of geocache as we can. As we neared GZ, an irate plover started squwarking and swooping at us. We quickly made the find and hot footed it out of here as fast as we could. TFTC
We ran into Herbz and they warned us about the plovers. Luckily, they were at the other end of the park and we had no issues. Thanks for the cache
Found with some newer cache buddies, that have just started the game.
My GPS help pin point the location, and another to make the find...

Found during the QLD Mega event at Dayboro while out with SaintsMadHouse. Took a little bit to find the first part but the final GZ was a quick find. TFTC
So after the unknown of the Mega and the QLD trip the waters parted and we arrived! Mega Day with dty73 and Tankengine... and many other Canberra cachers we met up with through out the day!
Took a little searching for WP1 but luckily TE spotted it in a place I had already checked. A quick find at GZ... no doubts this is a popular cache today.

Day three of our caching Easter trip.
Tankengine, Aquilus1 and I were up and ready for the Mega today. We spent most of the time onsite, watching the opening ceremony, doing the lab caches, checking in, catching up with people and finding other caches.
Then we headed into town and surrounding area to find a few different types. We had a blast even through all the rain.
Then back to the Mega site for dinner and trivia night. So much fun!!!
This cache: Took longer to find the waypoint than it should of, but once obtained we plotted it into the phones then did a whole heap of other stuff before coming to find the cache. Tftc Seizer!!!

After converging on Dayboro for the Mega Event, The Rats, Wilbert67, mizmaz and steeba combined together to form the 'Gong Gang'. We spent many hours prior to the event solving puzzles and today we were out and about in the showers finding the hides. Plenty of work went into things and sorry for the more generic log. Some great adventures were had. TFTC!

Caching with my main squeeze, Oddiewan , Liz and Bruce, and our new little geo pup. A neat spot geocaching has brought us to! We had an assist from other cachers following an adventure lab. Persistence found us the final. Funny this is here— we actually had an idea for a cache about 200m away with the same MO but never got it listed.

This was a fun cache
At the first WP we were asked by the lady who works/volunteers there what we were doing and so we explained the whole deal to her including the up coming event. She was fascinated - we even talked about the camp commandant at the showgrounds and had a good laugh.
And then at GZ we were dive bombed by a pair of plovers - it was fascinating to see them zooming in towards us and then at the last second veer away!
Thanks Seizer.
Feedback - the container at WP1 is rusted and has no lid and water gets in.

Waypoint was easily found and I was off to GZ, Had a chat with a curious neighbour who was wondering if this was this geocaching thing they heard about!
Cache was found by Ghostgums and the log signed for all.
Today we were out and about around the Dayboro on a pre mega caching run with Gunnie69 and NurseyJulie, who were both getting some numbers for some milestone achievement at the mega. The forecast was for some rain, but in the most part it kept away. The plan was to hunt down some Geosauruses, maybe the odd pacman running loose, or even a horse or two galloping around the countryside. And of course find the odd bit of geo love along those quaint country roads.
Thanks Seizer for the cache, the hunt and the smiley today! [D]

After leaving Brislions, Who was on his own mission to collect a few more geocaches in the area, We had headed into the town of Dayboro for a morning coffee. After coffee, we took a stroll to visit the first white point of this cache.
On a previous visit, we had been stumped at this point and had ended up logging a “DNF”. Today, we had better luck, which was surprising given it was a Saturday morning and the place was beginning to get busy although it was still early.
With information in hand, we decided to drive closer to GZ, since we had a long day of caching ahead.
At GZ Mr Domsky found the well hidden container, and we were pleased to be able to add our name to the log.
Thanks Seizer. We had been hoping to find this one eventually, and are happy to be able to earn a smiley today.

After today's CITO, Nayfee and I hung out, caching our way to Dayboro to get a headstart on some things for the mega. We ran into Willis007 and Simba15. After a way too long lunch break, Willis had to leave so that left 3 of us to dodge the very angy/protective plovers as we went across to get the cache and BACK! Things you do to get a smiley!!!
This multi has been on my radar for a looong time but I was nervous about the first waypoint having heard it was a challenge. Luck was on my side today with a first spot I happened to check! With the required information on hand it was a short walk to the final although a pair of nesting Plovers were going to make this harder than it needed to be! We got swooped over and over and all sorts of hilarious antics ensued as we ducked and dodged the protective birds!
It’s nice when you just walk straight up to GZ and find the cache straight away. Must be our lucky day today. TFTC
We hadn’t originally planned to find this one today but when lunch time came, we decided to eat nearby so couldn’t resist taking a look. Caching senses sent me to the container at WP1 fairly quickly and then stayed with me for the final, which was found in the first place we looked. TFTC Seizer

Still haphazardly ploughing through the backlog of unlogged caches....
Logging this cache on the day we visited it.
Apologies for the late log.***

Out for the day with RoddyC, hatzoff Snickersallan and patrol14 getting a start on the caches in the area before the Mega event at Easter.
It was a fun day in the area and we visited as many caches as we could before heading home.

Spending the day caching with RoddyC, hatzofff, echocage1, Snickersallan abd Grannysmith1947 in and around Dayboro.
After the Adventure Lab we stopped to find the wp for this multi. GS1947 was the finder and off we went to grab the final. A quick find, SL then returned as found.
Found on 17 October 2020 at 1.35pm. TFTC, Seizer.

Woohoo! Turned that blue smiley into a happy face today. After a pointer from the CO last year, found the decoy and a VERY long time after, Meldob found the WP! I was very glad We had even said 'Hi' to the ladies here who were out by the front door for the celebrations. We went back and explained after we'd gotten the waypoint. Off to the final and Meldob got that too. Really glad she was there today! Thanks for a fun visit, Seizer!
No find new to this and not sure what this waypoint stuff really means. Pass us some hints please
Multi caches are often our nemesis. Once we found the first point we quickly located the log. TFTC
Thirdof six caches for the day. I had a goal today to complete my first ever geoart (The "We heart Geocaching" geoart by Orange Crew), and to clear up this pesky blue frown while I was in the area. Oh, and to get a pie from the Dayboro Bakery :p. At GZ, I made a very easy find, thanks to some assistance from a prior finder. DNF avenged!
The dogs were very much interested in what I was doing, but were harmless (I was tempted to go in for a pat, but didn't have the right shoes to get to them :p). Beautiful views from here, contrasted against the stress of work, really made my day. Log signed and cache returned as found, I was off for the remaining three smilies in the geoart. My heart is NEARLY complete!

No joy for me today. The girls and I enjoyed a pie from the bakery (yummmmmo!) and then attempted this multi. After 15-20 minutes of searching the kids were getting tired so I PAF a recent finder for further clues. Unfortunately I could not locate the waypoint in the location he indicated.
Finally able to catch up on logging caches found earlier in the year. Today, I was out and about for a day of fun with barbbowman and bubba89. This multi has been a nemesis for some time as I have been thwarted on a few previous visits and initially, today was proving to be just as difficult We finally resorted to phoning a friend and from there, it was easy sailing.
We found the cache easily enough in the end and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way
Thank you Seizer for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I was on the phone with Chamad last night and we were trying to decide where we were going today. We tossed up a few ideas, but we couldn’t really finalise a location, so I’m the end we settled on Dayboro as we both had to grab a few caches in the area to knock off a few more degrees on our 360° from home, plus the new AL series.
We arrived at Dayboro around 8:30am and did a bunch of multis, mysteries, trads and the new AL series in town. After completing everything there, we decided to make our way towards Mt Mee and grabbed any caches we didn’t get last time we were here.
Had a great day out exploring the area. It’s such a beautiful area to visit.

Out today to continue my one a day challenge and my trad a day challenge. Today I had GeoNayfee with me and we descended on the Dayboro area to tidy up some loose ends, grab a few new ones and complete the lab series. We were here at the begging of the month but time and a few DNF’s sort of spoiled our day, today we were going to change that.
This was the fifth/ sixth/ seventh and eighth cache today, we were trying to save time and complete it with another multi, a puzzle cache and the lab series. It got confusing as we were asking each other questions that didn’t relate to each other’s cache lol. Overall we completed them and worked on a method that saw us complete all 4 and a trad in the process lol. This multi was a nice little walk from the way-point.
With our names in the log we were off to the next, thank you for placing this one here.

We tried this one, but couldn't locate the coords we had to find.
May be next year during the Mega event.

Was out today with Selva Girls grabbing a few caches around Dayboro and beyond I had 2 multi to get. Selva Girls had AL, multi and a trad.
The total 4 caches for today. My knee got to sore by then. We found 2 mystery 2 multi. We had done the ground work a few weeks ago. Couldn’t get into the Showgrounds to grab the cache. We had lots of fun.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. Seizer TFTC *515* streak. *3035* Finds

Despite several trips to Dayboro, I had never attempted this one. Grup effort achieved the find today. TFTC!
Finally able to turn this to a smile, I’ve had some looks over the last few visits to town. So it’s good to achieve it.
Finally had a clear shot at getting this one been trying off and on for 3 years. The dogs near the cache are quite vocal so stealth was out of the question. Seeing as my family been in this are since 1880 and some are still here and I own a block at Mt Pleasant I am giving this a heart. Thanks for putting this one up
Out for the day on a day trip (not necessarily a caching trip) when we stopped at Dayboro for morning tea. Checked the phone and realised here was a cache across the road. Had a quick look without success, went back to bakery for coffee and buns. Decided to go back to start search again and came across Krcamber and Swearah acting somewhat (caching) suspiciously. I said it's head height and they both laughed. We spoke to the lady from within the Information Centre who said that it had been moved because everyone was walking on their garden. After a short search, the information was found and we headed off to the cache which wasn't covered up. All signed and left the cache covered for the next visitors. Great to meet these two fellow cachers and swapped stories about our (better) halves. TFTC
Got to the waypoint and thought we were being stealthy, when Nealo10 came over to lend a hand with the search. After 5 mins or so, and a chat with the lady inside, krcamber found what we needed and the 3 of us marched off to GZ having a chat along the way. Quick find at GZ as it was uncovered. We covered it up before leaving. Great to meet a lovely fellow cacher along the way!

Always great to meet other cachers! Obviously we were being subtle as a sledge hammer looking for the first waypoint as a stranger comes up and says ‘it’s head height’. We all had a giggle as we realised we were all like minded! Kept looking together and soon located the sneaky bugger.
Headed off to GZ with our new friend and spotted the cache on approach. Signed the log and then replaced with some additional camo to cover it a bit. Told some fun stories then headed on our way. TFTC!
