Visiting Canberra for the Mighty Mega. A wonderful event!Picked up the tb to continue its journey. Many thanks Tankengine for providing this game piece for our enjoyment.
Quick walk in to grab this one. Great views to be had here. Found with lorigus74 while in town for the GeoBash. TFTC Tankengine
Came out for a maintenance run with dty73 today. Cache refreshed, log replaced. Old log attached.GOOD TO GO!!!
Today, we had a mission to visit a mine, an old mine, and so we took our car up along some dry and dusty roads. Although this was not our main mission, we were very happy to arrive at this particular point and decided to park the car and go for a walk. About 300 m from GZ, where we had parked the car, we found some good trails, which led us to GZ and the find log signed and a beautiful walk with views. Thanks Tankengine Domsky
Find#5558Nice hiding place What a awesome day to be out in the Brindabellas Thanks for the cache
A ramble around the forest on a beautiful cool, clear day. I parked below and 100m away from the cache in a suitable spot on the Old Mine Rd, wandered up the hill and enjoyed a quick find at GZ. Cache and log are in very good condition.
Great views from here.
Thanks, Tankengine!

A nice walk along the old track with good views due to the harvesting. Took a little while at GZ until I spotted a short distance away.
Thanks,

Made amends for a previous DNF. This time brought help. Thanks to The Matetrix, geokids 2&3 and soon to be converted muggle sleepover best friend. A fun drive up, kids love looking down. TNLNSL TFTC

This morning I focused my caching on the south western part of the area north of Brindabella Rd and south of the border. I explored the back roads through the forest picking off many of the caches on the way. A fun drive up Pabral Road, along Two Sticks road, then down Blue Range Rd to this cache. A nice stroll and great views to GZ. Cache soon found. TFTC.

Out with Delta Response Team, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer for some caching. As we walked up and over from Undulations II, we were in awe of the view over Canberra, with all the logging that has happened. Until we turned up at GZ and discovered that GZ has been mashed. Luckily as we searched through piles of dirt, pines and branches, we finally found it on top of a mud pile, covered in dry mud, so well camoflauged. Yay!!! Placed where the hint mentions. Views are amazing and well worth the drive and walk to here. TFTC Tankengine!!!
Uncertain whether I just could not find it, or the previously mentioned pine tree munching machine made it up here. Well, something made it up here, so whether the cache is under all that mess who knows. Could not find after 15 minutes hunting around, even checked the rock outcrops just back in the treeline.
Well looks like this is our lucky day, we got the cache and the views! Recent logging has cleared the Canberra side and what a view it is to. Of course with that comes the complete destruction of GZ. Still not to be defeated we dug, scratched and lifted tree bits only to find it further along and down the hill with just a tiny bit visable from a dirt pile. Did you hear the cheer ring out from the hills?! This was one lucky find and could easily have been missed. We expected it was buried or destroyed. The cache which was in perfect condition has been moved to a near by tree and the hint still fits. Thanks for the cache Tankengine, walking along the track from Uriarra Undulations ll to this cache was a very scenic and spectacular walk.
Headed out with Aquilus1, dty73 and, AddictedGamer to test out my new car.
Walking up from Undulations II we enjoyed stunning views which were great. Until we arrived at GZ, which was pretty much all gone after much searching, digging, rock flipping, we had seemingly exhausted all options, AQ1 told dty73 to use her magic powers - so she did! and shouted out that she had found the cache.
Wow that one was well hidden. We moved it to relative safety of a nearby tree and built it a home that suited the hint.

Found with Dty73 , Aquilus1 and DRT. we had found this in a couple of seconds read dty73's log for more TFTC!!!
Headed up to the original, yep little Betsy the Suburu wouldn't be able to get up here...well I'm not sure anything but a giant machine could ATM! And surprise surprise we found such a giant machine, guess they are upgrading the road. That thing is a pine tree eating monster! Anyway it was slowly getting closer to GZ, let's hope it doesn't eat the cache too.
Cache was easily found, looks likes the ants have moved in and we had to extract them before claiming the smiley. Some great views glimpsed of the Cotter dam through gaps in the tree line, another great undulation!
Thanks for the cache TE

Found with JohnnyBoyACT and two muggles on a Canberra Bushwalking Club trip. We started walking from the Blue Range Road to the east. I had several maps of the area with me however each map had roads marked in different places and there were roads marked that no longer existed. After finding a suitable track we ambled (not drove) to the caches. I remember those unremittingly steep tracks from previous walks in the area. TFTC.

Well that was a bit of adventure. Clearly people don't boost that one often. Trees grown up now so not much a view but cache is good order. Tftc.
8788 + 1000 = 9788. Found after a nice fun drive through the forests with Stardust2410 and AwesomeL.
With a few spare hours today we headed out Cotter way to grab some not so often visited caches. After parking at and finding UU II we walked up the trail to this one. Not too bad really, and the kids did me proud !! Quick find at GZ - all safe and sound. Signed, returned and we headed back down to the car and to the next one on our list.
Thanks again Tankengine ! That was fun !
TNLN - TFTC !!

Views? There were views? Sol had done this one but graciously parked to let Wing6Rider and me attempt (and came up to offer assistance. Well, this one took the longest for the day and we must have been on the verge of giving up when a pine needle covered rock was found. For future finders, we made a little cairn to make life easier. There were views ????
It's been a while between finds for this cache! Sol de Lune offered to mind the care while AB and I tried this one. In the end it took all three of us a while to uncover the cache as it had become buried in litter (in a place I had already looked too but enough about that)! Thanks tankengine.
1214. 7th of 11 today enjoying a trip with nature and the weather, sun, wind, rain and hail, around Blue Range Road. Got to within the 90m of GZ and began my clamber upwards, collecting a lot of moisture from the wet foliage along the way. Once at GZ the treasure was soon uncovered. Thanks TE for the cache and the views. Thought I was going to be climbing rocks for a moment.
Have passed this one a couple of times now, but today was the day to make the short scramble up the hill for the glory of the find.
Nice easy find, out with Noikmeister, Jmanjezza & MadRummager.
Interesting spot as always.

We were going to do the Blue Range weird weir, but found ourselves without the required minimum equipment, so we headed up to this one and managed to park only 90 metres away. Leaving the worn out one in our party in the car we clambered up and Doppelfrog made the find. I headed back along the track and managed to find a remnant of the old trig (see photo), but nothing that would confirm a location.
Thanks TE
Thanks TE
Great obstacle course to get to GZ, must of been a while since you could of driven up here. TFTH
What a fantastic view! Our GPSr was a little confused at first, but we eventually narrowed in on GZ.

Fantastic Views from up here, Was a bit of a trek along a closed off track from where we could park, but nothing too hard.

Reperio at 0845. Wasn't sure what the roads would be like in the area, so I had prepared myself for a little bit of walk as I was in the commodore. Was surprised to find to could get to within 150m or so, and from it was straight run up the hill to GZ. Lovely views to look out upon whilst signing the log, and then quickly made the dash back down.

Last cache of the day. Tried this one once before but found I couldn't 4WD to it so left it for another day.
Took the short cut up the hill from the other road and the cache was in hand in no time.
A quite area with nice views, altough a few of the locals didn't like me being there.
Had a bee flying close and a jumping ant chasing my foot while I was taking photos. Little terrors!

It felt like a steeple chase to this cache. Up over down. Repeat. A lot.
Great views at the end. Especially up the cotter valley.
Thanks for the find

A short walk, but all the logs make it a bit tricky. The ground has been very wet and still soft around GZ. No sign of a trig for us either. Thanks.

Out with Albida getting his one cache a day. This one brought us to a hill, which gave us some great views of southern Canberra. The track has been covered with trees stopping us driving right up to the cache. We had a quick look for the trig that was suppose to be here. Found the cache quickly, tho both of us had different numbers on our gps's. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
First for the afternoon out with the geokiddies. Beautiful views and a lovely day after some pretty heavy rain - all the creeks were flowing quickly. Kids did some swaps - details in the log. TFTC!
This was the cache I looked at repeatedly on Christmas Day when it was raining and raining, and venturing up on wet roads seemed too foolish. Months later, here I am on a fine sunny autumn day with Zsazsa7 and McPhan. Nice views and an easy find. Thanks Tankengine.
After a brief scramble found in the company of McPhan and Winglen. Great SW views to behad. Thanks TE.
2990. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]Sadistic driver Sol de Lune put us at the closest spot to approach this cache only just over 100m. Trouble is it was all up - straight up. The other issue was getting up the embankment to start the up bit. At GZ I managed to completely miss the cache so when Mrs Winglen and Zsazsa7 arrived, ZZ7 made the find. Another of those cache blind days for me I guess. Some glimpses of the top views from around here and then back to the chariot.

This was the fifth of 8 caches and a trig. A birthday day trip heading out towards the Brindbellas with Newberys and his Toyota Landcruiser, TienHua, myself and the geokids. Today I got no birthday cake but the next best thing was birthday cache instead.
A bit of a scramble up the side of the road to this one but the views over Canberra were great. Log book signed and everything in order we were quickly on our way to the Poor Cousin for a lunchbreak. Left trackable to encourage someone out this way. Cheers and thanks for the cache Tankengine.

On a great day trip around the Brindies with my geoson, Rbirtles and his cachekid, and Tienhua in the 4WD. This was the fifth of 8 caches found on the trip.
I stayed with the cache kids at the car on the road (mine had fallen asleep) for this one while Rbirtles and Tienhua did the steep climb to GZ. Nice area probably good views at GZ - Rbirtles and Tienhua said they forgot to put my name in the log, but i'm sure they were just teasing me again . TFTC

Out in the 4WD with Newberys, rbirtles and their geosons. We climbed up the hill to the cache and fabulous views! TFTC, Tankengine.
Found with SecretSqirrel-BJC.
We also managed to drive to within a few meters of this cache - on the way back to civilisation from Mt
Franklin. Nice views.

A lovely driveby - well almost. I really enjoyed driving through the Uriarra Forest and ending up here.
Thanks Tankengine.

WOW - almost a drive-by. I have been up and down the main road here many times, but never took this side track. Such a good quality one too, leading me to agree with:
"Undulate - (Websters Dictionary) - to move up and down, as in a wave like motion."
Parked car, then a casual 50m stroll over to the cache and magnificent views. Thanks TE for another top spot.

Undulate - (Websters Dictionary) - to move up and down, as in a wave like motion.
Undulate - (Sol de Lune) - bloody straight up.
Yep, that was it. Up. No down stuff at all - not til I turned around to go back to the car anyway.
Anyways..........the skies were somewhat clearer today, so the decision was made to head out for this still unfound cache. Once at the general area, I tried a few little side roads, but thought better of them. Ended up parking at a distance of 800 metres from GZ and just went towards it. A little slipping and sliding on the wet ground and stepping over of many many felled trees, but made GZ in 45 minutes, just on 12.00pm to claim the *FTF* Sat and admired the views for a few minutes before retracing my steps and arriving back at the car just after 12.30pm. Heading downhill makes all the difference.
Thanks Tankengine for yet another cache with some cool views (although I left my camera at home this trip ).
Left a coin and a pathtag.
