I'm sure it's there, but for some reason I couldn't find a full ammo box. I didn't try too hard--it was hot.
Checked on this one on my way back from Mt. Lamlam. The ammo can is still in good condition and the contents are okay. It is a bit hard to open but nothing a little muscle can't take care of.
By chance I thought to look for nearby caches on the walk out from the highest. I looked down and realized we were 22 ft away from another. Thanks for the quick grab on our way out.
Found with ratz... We were headed to the highest cache on Guam but the trail is pretty overgrown. We will head back with water packs and machetes. TFTC
Found it! A good hike coming from Cetti Overlook. The rain helped to keep the skeeters in check. Cache is in good condition, ammo box keeping everything dry. TFTC
Thanks, merrittsbadges and I climbed Mt Lam Lam today. Had a good hike up the hill and found 3 caches along the trails. Great Views from the top. Also had a hard time getting the lid open but finally did.

No problem getting this one. The container lid is a tough nut to crack. Might be better served to get a lock-n-lock here, as wet as it stays up here. We really appreciate the hide, the skeeters...not so much! TFTC!
Took a small group of 11 up to LamLam today and grabbed this cache along the way. At first, Pretzeluffer tried to open the ammo can, then her older brother and finally, her Dad was able to get it open. It's been awhile. Cache is still in pretty good condition, at least the contents are still dry.
Found this one on a previous trek up the hill. Not sure why I didn't log it. Anyway, I signed the log last time but made sure it was still there today. TFTC
Found it on the way down the hill. I miss ammo box caches. We hadn't found one in a while.
Stopped by on the way to LamLam today with a group of fellow geocachers and found this one in great condition. Gotta love ammo cans!
ok, so there's some advice that goes, "Never say never!" After my last trek up Mt. Lamlam gave me extreme heat frustration, I swore I would NEVER go back up!
Well, of course some one had to go and hide two more caches up the mountain (thanks jimp and veganmimi!) So of course I had to go back up and get them!
sigh...
Thanks for the cache! You picked a great tree(!) for a new cache...now if only it were closer to the road!
I also thank blygoat for being willing to maintain it and guide hikes up for it!
If you come to Guam it is a MUST DO!

Grabbed this with islandrpryde, gurligurl808 and the familia while trekking up to Mt. Lamlam. TNLFSL. TFTC!
Nice pick me up after getting a little disoriented making our way to the peak of Mt Lamlam.. Exposed my family to their first geocache experience! TFTC-SL TNLS
Cache was covered in ants. The tree was quite obvious when you actually get out to it. TFTC
So lets flashback to New Year's Eve 2009. iJosh, Maga'haga, SannnRox and I made a dash for this cache. As we reached a fork, we hooked left and swore we knew where this cache was hidden. With our GPS bouncing around, no fresh trail in sight, and the sun setting pretty fast...we decided to use our "Phone a Friend" option. Upon contacting Geofreqman and Veganmimi, we were advised to get off the Mountain and make the attempt another day. So heeding their advice, we exited the mountain and closed out 2009 with a bang.
2nd attempt at Veganmimi's 2nd Tree Cache: We arrived at the spot where we last left off and lo and behold...a trail. It was a good thing we didn't proceed on New Year's Eve because our geosenses were a bit off. hehe. We arrive at GZ and our team already had the cache in hand. We signed the log quick and got out of there before the mosquitos ate us alive. Next up...Guam's Highest Cache! Thanks for the adventure!

We attempted this one as our "last hurrah" of 2009...but had to call it off because the sun was setting...and fast! So after two months of talking about it...WE'RE BAAaa-AAACK!!! This was find number 2 for the Duck Hunters today on our Highest Peak on Guam Tour 2010! The Duck Hunters present today are (in addition to myself) 671stargazer, sherbear, iJosh, aaron671, soulhigh, rocket671, purple, and my two cousins along for the hike.
I told everyone prior to the climb, that its not a race and that we'd pull over and break as many times as it took to get everyone safely up the peak. Little did I know that I was the first to need to pull over every five steps! I had left my "miracle drugs" at home and iJosh had some in his backpack...but I'd told them to go on without me! *waaaaaaah* Now my knees were totally giving up on me and I wasn't even halfway up and he was so far out of shouting distance!! So I did what I could and just took it easy going up. Eventually we meet up with rocket (who'd coincidentally straggled also) at the fork in the trail and lucky thing we did because we wanted to come here first and he almost went right to Crosswise!
We have a story similar to blygoat's too: on the way up we see a couple and I just shoot the breeze asking them where they headed...of course they say "the top" and I just smile and say "oh you know the crosses aren't necessarily THE TOP, right?" He says he knows about the fork in the trail and they're going right...I tell him we're going left and are welcome to join us at the true TOP. The wife doesn't look like she wants to...so they thank us and just keep going. Funnily, we're barely past the grotto and they're already on the way back down....dalai, no pictures?! haha..oh well *shrug* and we continue on our trek.
Most of the Team was resting a bit under some nearby trees while they waited for sherbear, rocket, my cousin and I to catch up...completely didn't realize that they HAD to wait for us, sher and I had the two GPS's! They didn't know where to go from there! I take my drugs and have my second wind and I break out Carmen (our GPS) and tell the group "dude, we're still about .2 away" so we start walkin!
stargazer and purple lead the way with Carmen and I right behind them and the rest of the Team on my six. I just keep announcing the distance to the cache every few feet....297...263...194...101...75...
as soon we round a bend and I'm about to say 54....the two make a break for it..they see the tree! In no time at all they have the cache and we manage to take a picture, sign the log and head on up to the Highest Cache On Guam!!
Took penguin, left a rubber duckie!

After the grueling hike just up to "a holy shrine" cache we stopped at this cache for a break and to sign the log which Blygoat needed and was the cause for this adventure. Thanks for the cache that lead to a great day of hiking and adventure!
Since we had the day off today (yeah Presidents Day!), we decided to do the Mt. Lam Lam trek. Took Kiwika, Bishdog, Zoonr, West#1 and a coconut crab that the boys caught last night on the hike. The coconut crab was the center of attention at the Cetti Bay Lookout as a bus load of Japanese tourists pulled up just as we were ready to begin our hike. They took a bunch of pictures of the yashikani and were having a good old time. We began our hike up and pretty soon, three young hikers passed us and said that they were on the way to Mt. Lam Lam and that they would see us at the top. That was the last we saw of them. We think they probably ended up at the crosses thinking it was Mt. Lam Lam. We stopped at "A Holy Shrine" and then continued to this cache. We found the ammo can immediately and it was in perfect condition. Signed in and then continued to the "Highest Cache on Guam". It was a beautiful day with a few clouds and lots of wind to keep us cool. The trail was well-defined and about the best I've seen it in a while. After a nice break, we went to find the cache at "Crosswise" and enjoyed the cool winds up there. On the way back down, we passed two other guys who said they were on the way to Mt. Lam Lam but once again, thought it was the mountain with the crosses. Oh well, we tried to educate them the best we could. Anyway, thanks for the cache and the opportunity to get back up to Mt. Lam Lam today. TFTC-SL TNLN
Was with Veganmimi when she placed this cache. The mosquitos wanted to help way too much. I was impressed also with the Achote tree that is near by. It is filled with ripe achotes currently. TFTC TNLN SL
Shared first to find today with Jimp59, Ungkulu, and boo670. Had a great time finding this cache. The tree was awesome. After hitting this cache we headed up to the Highest Cache and then to Crosswise. What a good way to start the New Year. Thanks for the cache.
Great way to start my New Year ~on a great hike to share FTF with JIMP59, CJPINAULA,Boo670. Worth the hike, tho' I have to tell ya, I was beet red on my first 10 steps up hill hehehehe, thanks to having great relatives in holding up for me while hubby was a step behind me, in fact, I even held on to a tree and told JIMP59 'you guys go on I'll wait right here I promise I won't go nowhere' hahahaha.. yeah right fat chance because JIMP59 is just him he says "don't worry lin we'll take our time, no rush" so with that being said I think I took a break like every 15 steps uphill.. wow.. but, you know what? I am sooooooo amazed at how I actually made the hike up and then some! woohoooo..great Hide I have to say.. awesome lone tree too. Because I was shocking myself in hiking this trail ~tnln~ Thanks for bringing me up here veganmimi.. My FIRST time ever hiking this trail ever! and I loved every minute of it. Ok next heading to highest cache.. den to crosswise.. ohhh boyyyy will I make it?? we shall see
***** Yea....Awesome shared FTF with Cjpinaula, Ungkulu and Boo670****
I had planned to do this hike a week ago and I wanted to start early in the morning. However, I had my godson's birthday party at my house last night and didn't get to bed til 2am. That meant that I slept in til 9am. After attending mass, I waited for some family members to meet me at my house before we headed down to the Mt Lamlam trailhead. We started our journey at exactly 3pm. (Mrs jimp59, cjpinaula, Ungkulu and hubby, my neice Jolene and her husband Boo670 and my dog Chica). I took them to A Holy Shrine and then to this cache. We spotted your tree from a distance and I have to say that it is a spectacular tree. Perfect place for cache. We found the cache with no problems and more importantly...no muggles. We took some pictures and then headed for the Highest cache on Guam and then back to Crosswise. By the time we started heading back down it was starting to get dark. It was completely dark by the time we reached A Holy Shrine. We only had one small flashlight and that meant that we had to go real slow. Halfway down, cjpinaula remembers that he has glow-sticks in his bag, 5 to be exact. It really helped us see our way through. Ungkulu encountered cramps due to the steep descent and she was a true soldier to continue on unaided. She really impressed me by making the entire trek. My son cjpinaula decides that he was going to run down to his truck and get his flashlight and then come back and get us. My dog Chica followed him all the way. He took off in total darkness and was back up in less than 10 minutes. So unreal. The flashlight he brought up was so bright that it was enough to light the entire way for all of us. The overall trip took 4-1/2 hrs. We got back to our vehicles at 7:30pm. Thanks for the fun adventure. I'm sure I'll be doing it again. JIMP59 (GUAM)
By the way, we used BLYGOAT's waypoints to the Highest Cache on Guam and it really is spot on. I recommend that you use the same waypoints to get this cache. See his log (Highest Cache on Guam) for the waypoints.

I shall start this note off with: I NEEDED A NEW PHONE ANYWAYS!
Due to some unexpected setbacks we started the hike at 430 in the afternoon.
The hike was just a *little* harder than we all expected. Who's idea was this again?! Oh ya, MINE!! After we're about a quarter way up, sherbear tells josh and I to just keep going and they'll catch up. We hear unfamiliar voices...turns out its other hikers going up to the top to watch the sun set from up there. After a few minutes, we don't hear the girls’ voices anymore, we call to see where they're at. The two decided to just wait it out back at the car and sher was still on her way up to meet us. She finally meets us but we were still .29 miles away, and the sun was setting fast. We see where we assume GZ is, but how the HECK do we get there?!
I call geofreqman and he tells us the path to take (josh was right the whole time, we girls just didn't want to believe him!) He advises sadly that because the sun is setting, we should just abort the mission and start to head down. Before hanging up he mentions that the next time we want to head up this way again, he and veganmimi would love to join us! We agree! We weren't sad at all because we still got our LAST HIKE FOR 2009 under our belts!
It is amazingly beautiful seeing the sun set at this elevation! We're about halfway down (at the second jungle) when Faith calls again to check up on us. I am a little surprised that the call defaulted to my Bat Phone. (I carry a personal and a work phone, when I don't answer the personal phone, the call diverts to the work phone, which I call the Bat Phone.) Anyways I figure that was a little weird that I didn't hear my personal phone ring. By now its dark and luckily we'd brought flashlights. We're working with the orange sunset and blue glow of the lights now, but we're making good time. We stop to grab ONE last picture of the now purple sunset and then I start fishing for my phone. OH CRAP. I don't have it! Which would explain why I never heard it ring! The last time I remember having it was when lacee called. But that was when we were up at the TOP of the mountain, and it really could be anywhere between there and where we are.
I decide I'm going back up for it! Sherbear continues down while josh and I are racing back up the mountain! I have never climbed up so fast, I felt like I was FLYING! We asked the three to keep calling my phone in hopes that we'd hear it ring and be able to find it faster. I was just praying that it wasn't as far up as I suspected. In no time flat, we were back at the second jungle (the sun has long set, its super dark, and we have ONE flashlight). Josh is a few feet in front of me. I call to him and I tell him we should just start to head back down. Surprisingly I'm not sad. I'm not even mad, besides, I lose my phones ALL the time, and I needed a new phone anyways. I was just more concerned on my contact list, and how sad it would be if I lost all those contacts.
We make it to the final stretch when josh gets a phone call. Its Sherry. She excitedly tells him the group that went up to the top was on their way down and SOMEONE FOUND IT!! I was SUPER HAPPY that I wouldn't lose all my contacts after all! But super sad that I wasn't gonna get a new phone for the new year! haha!
Short story long, we are going to try this again. But we're going to start a little earlier in the day. And we're going to make sure that my phone is secured in my bag and not dangling from my pockets. And that my car is in PARK when I exit ...but that's another story...for another log!
Thanks for another great adventure to close out the best year EVER: 2009!!

We're not ashamed to say there are some caches we just won't be able to grab anytime soon. We attempted this one with ol' gang and had to stop halfway through because of exhaustion (hint-don't eat McDonalds immediately before attempting this cache!). While SannRox, Sher_Bear and iJosh trekked on, we had to move aside for some two dozen youngins attemping to ascend to the mountain summit. Attempt? They made it even though the sun had long set. I'm sure Sann will give a more thorough explanation of the events, including the incident that led her to have some 16 missed calls from us!
