US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 12. The second day of our attack on the ET Highway. We spent the morning around Alamo so we did not go too far past Rachel later in the day. Apart from all the dust, it was a great experience. It was cold and there was snow in the passes, but it all made it special in a very remote area of this country. The night in Rachel was special, and it even snowed on us. Thanks.

Today are group consisting of LookinGood, M-D, Dizzy4X4 and Pats4X4 tackled caches for the ET highway starting at I-15 and highway 93 and everything in between until we were too tired and leaving more for tomorrow. A lot of driving and hoping in and out of the vehicles. The weather was great and much fun was had on this trip. All caches were found, signed as AZI (Arizona Invaders) and replaced as found for the next lucky cachers. Thanks to the CO's for putting out all these caches. Big GrinBig Grin's Cache ON. After wrapping up the ET highway, Invaluable1, HaveBirdWillGeo, Gaiter Man and I had a few hours the next day to cache around Alamo. I really enjoyed the cacher series, and seeing some of the back roads and canyons after the hectic pace of the ET caches. Thanks for the fun, I have fond memories of getting these caches.

#13794 After completing the E.T. trail Invaluable1, Gaiter Man, Stews Crew & myself decided to spend this morning caching along the dirt roads behind the town of Alamo. IMHO this cache deserves a bit more than just a 2 star difficulty. A lot of hidey holes and I felt lucky when I found this one for our group. TFT$!

So in November of last year the TCC came out to Nevada and California for our first major expedition. This year we had planned to come back as the DRCC, I therefore decided to come out before the whole crew and do some “skull and crossbones”, lone ”waw” caching. This 6 day pre expedition trip concentrated on caches we missed during our first ET and RT 66 trips as well grabbing some in Las Vegas. I must admit it was far harder as a lone wolf, with long days, cramps and exhaustion. With the crew we were finding 600 to 850 a day, on my lonesome, in the desert, I did not manage to break 200 a day. I definitely missed the fun and companionship of the crew, but that’s ok, in another few days we will all be here having an awesome time.
As always I have the greatest respect for all the work that has gone into each and every one of the caches placed, even though my scrambled mind would be hard pressed to remember much about any of them, guess you know what I mean.Smile
Many thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches.

No luck but a lot of fun trying. When I saw the elevation listed in the hint, it was so much different than my reading that I decided to quit. Sorry

In Alamo for a go at the "ET Road" caches tomorrow. Wink I like caching in the desert; most of the time the terrain is easy and fun to walk. Razz Found very easily. SL. Thanks Larry Lytle.

* * # 5290 * * cache number 20 found today.

After four days on the ET series and the geo-art UFO, we spend another half a day in the area to do some additional caches around Alamo. We enjoy the tour of the area on some great back roads with magnificent scenery. We loved this series of caches near Alamo because they offer different vistas than those we saw in the past fourth days. It also change from the "power caching" mode. We were able to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Thank you « Larry Lytle » for taking us here and for all the caches.
