Melbourne weather! Hot one day, raining the next. A quick change of route avoided the worst of the rain and put me on track for a FTF later in the day.Two caches in one cemetery is a bonus. With both solutions in hand it was off to find the caches, this was the second stop. Thanks for the cache VKC1SR.

20-Nov-24
I messed something up here. I will come back another day to try again.

13-Nov-24
Found after staying at Green Hill Lake campsite near Arrarat before traveling to our next stop-over at Inverleigh, finding caches along the way. After setting up camp at the roadside campsite at the edge of Inverleigh, I headed out in the late afternoon for a couple of entertaining hours of caching before nightfall. Thanks for the cache VKC1SR!

Love this one. Tftc.

11-May-24
Have been looking at this one for a loooooong time. Finally came back here today to get the smile. Love cemeteries and caches around them. This was cool!! a fave point on a milestone tftc

14-Jan-24
Interesting plaques. Recovered the numbers and a short stroll to final. Cache all good here tftc

25-Dec-23
Hhhmmm not sure my numbers looked right, but with the help of the check sum and a little bit of reverse engineering I soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

08-Dec-23
Our check sum worked out but GZ was in a paddock with horses hmm not sure where we went wrong. TFTH

19-Feb-23
Off on a day trip from Ballarat to Winchelsea, Colac and Beeac and this was my next stop. Set about the task at hand and soon had a set of co-ords. Once at my GZ, the cache was soon spotted and the log was soon signed.

Thanks VKC1SR...good to see the history here. Cache all good.

12-Feb-23
Made the quick trip to Inverleigh today with Sims_family to collect a bunk bed that was purchased for my little crumbs.

We had some spare time so decided to get a few caches in whilst in the area. Looking over the plaques at the posted coords, it was actually pretty sad that the list was so long.

After working our way through the required questions, we got some coords that looked pretty good. A short work was had to GZ where Sims_family came up with the goods.

Thanks for the cache Smile

12-Feb-23
Donuthole had a something to pick up in Inverleigh but needed a bigger vehicle to transport it home, Thats where my Kia Carnival came in handy. After we had collected the goods we a had some time so a multi or two was in order before heading home to Geelong.
With two of us checking the plaques was a little easier and quicker than it would have been otherwise. A short walk and search later our names were in the book.

Thank you VKC1SR for keeping this one alive

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Find #11718

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria

And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

SL at 12:45pm. Now on my way home from Geelong. Ah my initial calculations for GZ took me out of the cemetery and elsewhere on the second attempt which I knew to be wrong. No worries, MAF time and I had 2 numbers wrong, oops! As I was approaching GZ I had disturbed mumma kangaroo and her joey. So beautiful. That really is a lot of unmarked graves isn't it. What's worse are the 'unknown' persons. May they all R.I.P. TFTC!
*Cache had a little water in it. I have wiped it out, dried it and provided ziplock bags to keep it all protected.
*FP awarded because it's a challenging cemetery cache which I messed up but found in the end.

14-Jun-21
I really do like cemetery caches, as you can learn so much at places you probably wouldn’t otherwise visit. Tftc

28-Mar-21
This was a very very tricky multi, that I ended up brute forcing in the end crawling under trees. Had the kids with me which made it hard when they wanted to climb on the tombs. Eventually spotted the cache, retrieved and time to head home. Thanks for placing this, despite it being a nightmare!

05-Jan-21
Found at 4:05 PM GAFF1.
A straight forward multi! You have to be kidding right! We spent probably about 30 minutes at those plaques - btw - how did they get those names from unmarked graves? Were there exceptionally good records in this particular cemetery? Are we walking over many unmarked graves right now?
Stuffed up one of the ambiguous/tricky questions and then made the find right next to where we didn't want to go Razz
Thanks VKC1SR.

06-Dec-20
Again we played with the rain but we still enjoyed our wander around the cemetery. We love the old cemeteries as they have so much history to tell. SL TFTC

29-Nov-20
Found this cache quite easily. It’s a beautiful cemetery, peaceful and quiet with the odd tractor going past. I have left a TB here. Hope the dragon continues on his travels. TFTC

05-Nov-20
A trip to the country and a few caches along the way to break the journey.

This took some brain cells checking for numbers. Had a location but no good. So in the comfort of home rechecked photos and found my rookie error.

Todays driveby gave a quick find.

Thanks to VKC1SR for the placement and fun.

19-Oct-20
OMG.... how many mistakes could you make here?
Well we know, cos, we did em all!!!

Mr Riddells comment is that this cache is a night mare.
We had misunderstandings determining the requirements. As a consequence we did a lot of unnecessary counting and re reckoning.
However we did come up with the goods eventually.

A lovely little historic cemetery.
Nice to see that those with unmarked graves are recognized and remembered.

TFTC

28-Jul-20
Oh gosh there's a lot of names. First set of Coords was wrong, so I went back and tried again. Ah huh I missed one. Finally got the right number and found GZ. Tftc

13-Jul-20
Had this cache on the radar for a loooong time as our previous visit had us in the wrong spot. Funnily enough this visit has us looking in the wrong spot for a fair while too until I decided to broaden my search zone (my phone’s gps - not a problem with co-ords) Tftc!!

12-Jul-20
Had been here before but come up empty handed but only off my a little bit. When we returned we looked in the wrong spot for a little while before we realised we were at the wrong spot lol

06-Jan-20
Having just dropped off Master frilk for a week of fun with friends I decided that I would grab a few caches on the way to Geelong. It was lunchtime so I thought that I would make the most of the afternoon at Inverleigh.

There was a lot of smoke from the bushfires which gave the whole place an eerie feel to it.

I managed to collect the information required quite quickly and soon made the find at the GZ. TNLN. TFTC.

03-Nov-19
Took one recalculation to find this one. Nice find.

22-Apr-19
Checked today and it's still there.
Needed a clean out.. so was good to have a look.

Double check those numbers Boys and Girls!! (And others)

22-Apr-19
Found with dad. Swapped for a pretty necklace and looked at all the old graves.

20-Apr-19
Came past here and did the required questions for answers that then sent us km’s down the road. That cant be right.
Re did answers but again sent us km’s down the road in the other direction.
Again found the mistake we had made and bang sent us somewhere that made alot of since considering the cache size but there was something different in the area which we believe may be where gz use to be but with the luck we had had on this one the thought of it could be actually us making another mistake is a possibility.

Will come back on a day less sunny Smile

27-Dec-18
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.

Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs

Most logs signed as FETT.

Thanks for all the caches.

27-Dec-18
Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache. We signed the logbook FETT.

27-Dec-18
Found whilst touring Geelong & Ballarat areas between Xmas & New Year with Freddo, Team Waldron and e.gregory1 - we've signed as F.E.T.T.
Some pretty hot days but great scenery and good co-ords & caches hides made for an enjoyable trip
TFTC

27-Dec-18
Found with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.

The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’

Thanks VKC1SR for the cache.

25-Nov-18
A great multi that didn’t take too much time on my way to Geelong this morning. TFTC

09-Aug-18
I had a similar problem to Arkbell80. Got me on a technicality. My second attempt was more successful. Cache happy in its hideaway. Tftc

16-May-18
After walking in mud and climbing under a bridge I grabbed this cache on the way home. Found the information easy enough but trying to get a good result was a lot harder. I kept getting the projected GZ too far away so I went for a look in the direction I got with no reward, back to the rock counted again and found some mistakes with my numbers my new GZ looked good and I had the cache soon after. TFTC

01-Jan-18
Spent New Years Day caching in and around Inverleigh with good friends the Razzers. Picked this one up after lunch and meeting up with them. All in all a great day, with mild warm weather, great company , lunch at the local brew house before
resuming activities in the afternoon.

A nice single stage Multi with a certain degree concentration needed and a supportive cross checker. The first set generated were plausable but somehow didn't look right as we would need to be outside the Cemetery grounds. One slightly ambiguous question, a correction and we were off, to a much more probable location. Log signed and returned. Done

25-Oct-17
Got my calculations wrong and being by myself felt a little uncomfortable wondering around on my own. So ill be back with company to get the numbers right!

18-Aug-17
Today we explored Inverleigh and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. Braving the wind and the rain we made an easy find. A straight forward multi.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found during a road trip to Bellarine with becca85, neisha07 & GemmaSistema. Lots of fun! TFTC!

06-Jul-17
A nice little cemetery, it took us a 2nd shot at the co-ords with the ambiguous wording of one but we soon got there and made a quick find.

School Holidays = Road trip time with GemmaSistema and the geo-kids (AKA Team Clarmensma).
This time it was off to Bellarine.
Day 1 saw us detour via Inverleigh for a handful then after setting up camp, we headed out with quite group for a triple attack on local night caches. Lots of fun! TFTC

06-Jul-17
A geo road trip with the kids and becca85 and her crew saw us targeting some caches in and around Inverleigh. What a gorgeous little town. Love exploring cemeteries. So many unmarked graves here which is sad but also lovely that they have taken the time to highlight these individuals. Numbers were sorted and with one we were unsure of we reworked and soon had cache in hand. Many thanks for the cache

05-Apr-17
A school holiday day out with the GeoKids exploring and caching around lovely Inverleigh.

Our last find for the day. The eldest GeoKid was off looking for the grave of the Gibson twins, but the youngest was very thorough and enthusiastic about collecting the required information. By the time we were done we had a couple of options for a few of the values, so I entered in what we thought was most likely and worked from there. We were able to confirm our southerlies easily enough, but the easterlies took a little tweaking with one value contentious in its ambiguity. However contentious, it gave us a set of coordinates that directed us to a GZ that was logical, so off we went.

Log signed and all replaced as found.

TFTC!

04-Apr-17
Did some looking, did some counting, did more looking and counting, then calculated. Was beginning to doubt the numbers when the find was made. Very well hidden. TFTC

04-Apr-17
Interesting multi - lots of number - beware! Looked for a while and "bingo" TFTC

11-Mar-17
After seeing previous logs I took a lot of care with this one. I must have been a bit lucky as I found the cache in the first place I looked - all safe and sound,

25-Jan-17
Dang drat and poo. Spent nearly an hour here trying to crunch the numbers but kept being put out in a paddock for the GZ. Oh well, thats how the game goes. Something wrong with my math for sure. We will be back another day for another attempt.

29-May-16
Sure fire tip for the next lot of cachers: attention to detail is a must... so many numbers checked and rechecked before we got the right ones! TFTC. Another find by the McPhail family

15-May-16
After finished the nearby night cache, I wasn't going home without attempting these two multis.
With success on the first multi, I was feeling good about this one. Doing this cache at night added another layer to the experience !! After finally getting some numbers, I headed off to hopefully make the find. Another success, two multis in a row without a dnf !! That must be a record for me. Thanks for bringing me here, a very rewarding experience. TFTC vp4 Smile

15-May-16
I swung by here to tackle this multi. I felt like I was going cross-eyed looking at all those names. I worked through the questions and came up with a set of coordinates that looked promising. I wasn't 100% confident I had them all right though as I'd gone through them quickly. I headed to my coordinates and fortunately I found the cache right there. Thanks vp4 for bringing me here and highlighting the many unmarked graves.

27-Dec-15
Out with Autumncs, Two Geokids and geograndma today to tourist and geocache Inverleigh. Initially we were all trying to answer the questions for this one and the math was just not working out. Eventually grandma took the kidlets for a wander and read the inscriptions and Autumncs and I had another crack at the maths and worked it out. I went for a wander to see the toilet that other cachers had talked about and had a laugh when I saw that men and women had to enter from different sides. TFTC.

27-Dec-15
After several count we finally got the coords. Much easier without granma and geokids helping. Lol

24-Aug-15
It took a little while to collect and then check the data - so easy to miss one when counting. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache vp4.

23-Aug-15
Having previously looked on another trip through I really wanted to get this one solved.... Couldn't believe it when we got it wrong again... but we puzzled it out and got there in the end.
Thanks

23-Aug-15
Having come to Geelong with Mogni to do caching it was sadly time to head back to SA. Still we have all day and there are plenty of caches to collect on the way. Cool
Had a little bit of trouble with one clue but worked it out in the end. Once we had the correct numbers it was a quick find. Smile Thanks vp4. Big Grin

07-Aug-15
Collected the numbers and headed off to find the container. Nice to have a bigger container than the usual nannos. Signed the log and then moved on. A nice little resting place for the unmarked memories.

Needing to test the solar of the RV decided to do a couple of days camping on the roadside and discover Inverleigh by finding caches.

Checked the plaques, solved for the co-ords and off we headed to nowhere. Went back and got the same result. Must be us coz it was logged yesterday.

Took some fotos and headed back to the RV for lunch and a coffee. Now to recheck our numbers. Oh golly, we can do numbers vertically but unable to do them horizontally and now have a new GZ.

The GZ was easily located and soon had the cache in hand.

A very pretty cemetery to visit (off the beaten track for us) with some interesting history. Thanks for bringing us here vp4.

On a multi campaign today in the Geelong and surrounding areas with Glanville Girls, Tomstache, wozzle68 and ST37E, we left home in the dark and arrived home in the dark but were very pleased with our achievement of 31 Multis in March on 1 March! We saw some amazing views and our travels took up to many spots we had never visited before.

01-Mar-15
On a mission today to find 31 Multi-caches to complete a unofficial challenge and to log a recently challenge cache placed in Melbourne's western suburbs. In the company of fine bench of Ballarat caches we set off around 6:30 am and headed in the "general direction of Geelong where we all had plenty of targets to help us reach our goal. After much driving around we had 31 under our belts plush a few others, and we were off to Melbourne to sign the challenge cache. 15 hours later back in Ballarat feeling somewhat tuckered out but satisfied. Smile

I love to visit these little cemeteries and wander, today there wasn't time to do much of that today. Thanks for bringing me here and for the nice cache.

01-Mar-15
We were out on a caching run today with McLookers, ST37E, Wozzle68 and Tomstache. We set ourselves the personal challenge of trying to find as many multis as we could in one day. We set off from Ballarat and headed into the multi rich territory that is Geelong. We had done our homework on as many as we could before hand and chose multis that we thought would be quick and achievable. It was crazy day that started in Ballarat at 6.30am and didn't finish until late in the evening with 31 multis logged.
A nice quick find on this one.

01-Mar-15
Thanks for this multi. Cool cemetery. ST37E is on fire today.

Caching today with McLookers, Glanville Girls, ST37E and wozzle68, we left home when it was still dark and it was dark again when we got home. We covered a lot of area but we finished our challenge.

11-Jan-15
Out with Darth Briji for a day of caching.
This is the third graveyard multi today. With the Mathisdone we headed off to GZ and made the find.
Thanks for the Cache vp4

11-Jan-15
After completing the Otway series and also the The Tiger Line series, Figured we may as well pick off a few more while out this way and then on to Inverleigh. Out caching with alchey.
Another great little old cemetery to have a look through. Sums quickly done and so was the find
Fav point

Thanks vp4 for the cache

Chatted for a while with a bloke doing some maintenance on a family plot, then get the data and did the calculations. Then I decided those calculations were rubbish, and did them again -- much better this time! Took a USA 1 cent piece and left a geonickel. SL, TFTC

A fascinating cache - we enjoy ones in these locations. The geokids helped with some of the counting and then spent time scrambling over the giant seat carved out of a tree stump. We also checked out the extremely large grave which has been erected nearby that seems to be waiting for a couple more occupants.

The search took us a little while but we were confident we were looking in the right spot and we were eventually proved right.

Thanks vp4

29-Aug-13
I do love a cemetery but am kind of wishing I'd read the previous log before I attempted this cache. A cuppa in the car might have improved my attention to detail somewhat! Red Face As it was, I had to make about four corrections before the correct co-ordinates were plugged into the GPS.
Never mind wrong co-ords putting me near graves, these ones were putting me over fences and would have had me asking sheep for directions!! Surprised Buckleysbabe really needs to learn how to count!! Sad
So, once the maths improved somewhat, the find was made quickly with the correct numbers and the log was signed and returned. As a bonus, got to watch 2 freight trains passing on the nearby line. Love trains too! Big Grin
Thanks vp4!

Used my iPad to photograph the plaques, then brewed up a cuppa as I studied them for the required info. A great little multi and a fav from me TFTC vp4

01-May-13
Found this one after much calculating and ended up with two possible locations. Picked the most obvious one and there it was. Watch out for the ants though!

Not my favourite location, but at least it was a quick multi. Co-ords very accurate, cache easily seen if looking for it. tftc.

Visited today, after the recent DNFs. Happy to say the cache is still there.

29-Mar-13
A dnf on our Geelong girls getaway with Mogni.

We calculated, counted, walked, wondered, recalculated, recounted, rewalked. No luck for us. Taken photos of plaques for another future attempt.

29-Mar-13
Not quite sure where we went wrong, but we did not get any likely final coords. Will be back to try again another day.

19-Mar-13
The best about this is the trreasure is not in the middle of the road.
Set amongst a quaint little setting the find was accurate and straight forward. Thanks vp4 for this is an adventure with plenty of history and brings this area to life.
The bananas loved it, especially the success.

Every time we drive through Inverleigh this one haunts us... but today was the day to tackle unmarked graves and caches. The numbers were quickly done, although one needed to be searched for again, and then off to GZ. Which was outside the fence. OK, fix up an ambiguous number, and that was a more likely place. Quick find once we got to the right area. Interesting that someone as late as 1989 had an unmarked grave... would love to know more. Thanks for an interesting multi.

Found today @1622, some very old graves in this place and nice to wander around having a look.

Yikes, lots of numbers to process and 1 mistake could have lead me off into the far distance. I did my best but as always with confusing multis, stuffed a few bits up and got some wonky coords. I rechecked some bits, read some logs to discern the possible location, tried out some different numbers and walked in the right direction.

I happily found the cache, the first of 3 crazy cemetery multis that I did on my trip.

15-Sep-12
Had a great afternoon caching in Inverleigh with Sam GG and this was a fascinating site. There are so many questions that arise with the large number of unmarked graves ... is this the case in most cemeteries...why did one family have so many entries spread over such a long time...why are there so many names that seem prominent in the local history...etc. By the way, the toilet might need to be added to the list, time is taking its toll. TFTC.

21-Aug-12
Found it with Justin Day on one of our caching adventures. He comes in handy for the multi's because I'm no good at them. TFTC!

Found with kinkell1, ST37E, S4Sammy,

Spent a bit of time working out the necessaries to get us to gz, as the groundsman came over for a chat.
Then off to gz for a quick search and let the groundsman know it was there as there's going to be a lot of work done in the cemetery soon, as they look for all the unmarked graves.

What a mix - Friday 13th and a multi! We thought we were careful with the maths however a second workout was necessary before we reached the prize. We both found names on the plaques which are the same as our family names. Multi's such as this which share the local history are always enjoyable.

TNLN . . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt vp4.
