It's not an area I get back to that often these days, so I might let this one go as I won't be down there anytime soon. The park is definitely still worth a cache to take people there so maybe someone more local can place something there, otherwise I will think about it. A micro could work in the same sort of hiding spot as this but I don't really like placing those. The slightly bigger ones seem to go missing every so often, I assume kids crawl under there.
I did like the hide though and it seemed to stump a few people which is always good, though it shouldn't have been that hard. Thanks to all the finders.

Tricky little hide--I'm not used to going to so much work for a cache. The container is pretty smashed on one end, and the log and caching sheet are very damp. I had plastic bags and Rite-In-Rain logs with me, though, so I put a new log in a bag in the cache container, and that should be somewhat protective. (RIR logs are water resistant but not waterproof, unfortunately.)
Some workers were setting up for a wedding right next to the cache location, but they totally ignored me. I was able to do the down and dirty part while they were off getting more supplies, anyway. Being a bit older helps I think--I just look like an old lady in her dotage. Maybe I am...TFTC!

Finally! Twice I've been unsuccessful with this cache. Refused to give up. Went back a third time with a new idea. A couple was having their picnic RIGHT THERE. So: impossible. Fourth time: I found it!! But didn't bring a pen. And the log was full. Fifth: I brought my own paper and could leave my name in the log! Lucky I live in the area.
We find it. Holiday bij ower dauhter and looking for one or more caches. Thank for this onze.
We come from Holland.

Not many places this one could be hidden so it was an easy find. A bit of struggle trying to extract the cache without damaging it but we did it. Quite a lot of muggles nearby playing boules but we were out of sight. Interesting spot.

On this sunny Friday the bus brought me to birch grove and from here it had been a nice stroll down to GZ where I spent at least 30 min to find that little bugger, nooooot easy!

#2523 - 15:50; After an unproductive morning, I'd finally cracked the first find of the day to extend the current streak to 324 days, much to my relief! I was now working my way around the narrow winding streets of Balmain and visiting some nice parks and unusual sites, such as this one. Parked the geomobile outside the gates, to find a wedding party here for the photo shoot. Made my way in to GZ, where I was lucky that the photo op had concluded and I was able to conduct my search. I think I might have been lucky to make the find as quickly as I did on this one, although I had examined all of the possibilities before starting a more thorough search and winding up with the cache in hand first try. It was a bit of an effort to find, and you have to be willing to get your clothes dirty.
We found seven of eight around the peninsula on this windy day. Enjoyed the walk and the sights of Balmain.

Found it after about half an hour and my 9 year old's brainwave. Perfect hiding spot! TFTC
Found at 2:51pm. I decided this afternoon that I would attempt to knock over all caches located in the Balmain area. This one was a tough one, I spent close to 25 minutes at GZ. I probably should've managed to make the find much sooner as I had all the information in front of me all along but it tends to be a matter of how much you scrutinize each piece of the puzzle.
I actually began leaving after 15 minutes when I had an 'awww maybe just one more look' moment. Sure enough, perseverance is often the key
I did look a little suss around the various muggles passing by so had to remain in stealth mode as best as I could.
Loved the concept of this cache, especially when I wasn't expecting something like this. Over the years I have often wondered what this area was all about when cruising past on the ferry. A very nice spot for a picnic on perhaps not such a cold/windy day.

Epic hide! Took us quite a while but then got an idea - and at the second attempt there it was! TFTC
We met The Bebes at a previous cache and they suggested trying this one and we're glad we did. A super interesting area and a great little hiding spot. A favourite point from us. TFTC.
I really enjoyed wandering around this park, it's been redeveloped beautifully
The cache hunt was quite a work out and lots of fun - much more interactive than a mint run
Tftc - gets a fav from me

Didn't find it. We found what we thought was the correct spot and looked under and up but couldn't find this one. Great park though, bet it gets full on NYE.
We had DNF'd this one a while back and the CO confirmed we had the right idea and a let check confirmed it had been muggled. Back in the area today we saw it was up and running again so headed over. We checked a few spots and nothing. We thought about it some more and after some muggles passed it was an open and shut case for a sneaky hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

First attempt was among a string of dnfs some time ago. Having found it exactly where I thought it would be relatively easily today, using a different technique, got to wonder if I just missed it last time or it was indeed muggled. Seeing as the container has been officially noted as “replaced”, I’m going with the first option. With the cache logged quickly, had a bit more time and patience to explore the area before heading off to do maintenance on my nearby hide and attend my nephew’s 3rd birthday party.
This one took ages....1.5/1.5 my ----! You sneaky bugger Richary. A FP for sure..Great views.
Round and round and round it goes, where it stops only the finder knows! To date the best cache location yet. It'll be hard to top the creativity behind this caches location.
Richary, congratulations on creating the best hiding location in Sydney!

Balmain completed with Mz Tahnee! Left a broken piece piece off my keyring.... i look forward to being reunited with it at a different location
TFTC. A beautiful sea breeze day to explore the harbour foreshore and it's heritage.
Muggle central, but found it with a little bit of creative muggle deception techniques. Great spot.
Gee what a view this cache has. What a area. Very sad i didnt bring my camera with me will absolutly be back with a few other cachers and take lots of snaps.
Took about 10min to find the cache. But would have been longer if i had have kept in the amount of time i stopped searching to admire the views.
SL @ 6.53.
Fave point awarded for the stunning views and location as well as the sneaky hide not what i was expecting.

Great spot. The pencil is blunt and I didn't have a sharpener or a replacement. I apologise for the messy signing! TFTC
Had the kind of takeaway dinner you have at these sorts of parks. Walked around to aid the digestion. Grabbed the cache as a kind of dessert. Then saw the American Holland line 'Oosterdam' cruise out from White Bay. Was that a digestif?
Wow what a great view from here.
Cach well hidden but soon had it found and the log signed thanks for bringing me here.

I was going to find this another day but it had been stolen so I found it today. Hint was really helpful.

Sorry this has taken a little longer than recommended for a check or fix. I will get there by Sunday this weekend with a spare. Life just got in the way with a couple of weekends away and the leadup to Christmas.
I suspect this has gone based on the last couple of DNFs, with a find in between from someone who it's their only ever find. I might have to rethink how I can do this without making it a micro micro/nano as the hide is good (IMHO) and the park is certainly worthy of a cache.
Doubt I can get there this weekend but will be making a spare container that could fit in case work takes me past in the next couple of weeks.

Throught we tried the obvious spots and looking at the hint picture now back home we did. Even a photo in a couple of locations did not show the cache
Think I found it, but destroyed before my arrival. Search for half an hour before giving up though. Good clue, definitely got me closer but no find today
Wasn't even looking for a cache...only enjoying the site on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I happened to innocently look somewhere....and low and behold how surprised was I to see the cache....
Beautiful spot....
After a delightful lunch and a quick browse at Balmain markets we decided to get down to the water and have a look around. There was a wedding in progress at the gates, and the impressive structures were used as a backdrop for the wedding photos.
After crashing the party, we headed to the tanks and had a lovely time wandering in and out. Great harbour spot on a wonderful Sydney day.
Cache only had a log, and I had parked too far a way to bring any trinkets back, as these were neglectfully left in the glove box!
So, next one in, remember to drop some colour for the kiddie-cachers?
'Tanks' for the opportunity to find another great location richary!

Someone must be tanked...
Opened every outlet there -
All the beer was gone!

Found on a walk around Birchgrove and Balmain, very interesting site and fantastic regeneration to a walk. Tftc
First geocache find - kids very excited. Dropped a Fijian coin in the cache. Thanks!
A local find for us. Beautiful location to sit a view the surroundings. Was surprised to find original container but have caught up with other recent logs and see it was dislodged. Thanks
Used the hint for the quick find after walking over from the Birchgrove ferry dock. TFTC!!
Yay!!! Found it after much searching, and finally decoding the clue! I love this park - probably my favourite, especially knowing how the locals fought against the developers who had their eyes on the site! Thanks Richary!
This cache has a fantastic GZ with an amazing view of the harbor. We dropped a geocoin in the cache. Fantastic hide with an amazing park nearby! Tnx for the cache.
We looked and looked with no success.
Then, we read the hint and made an easy find.
Great spot and great view.
TFTC.

This was my very first cache. Was a little more difficult than I expected - found the location OK but as I wasn't too sure about what I was in for, I was a stumped after that. Found it though and am now ready for the next one!
Sorry but didn't find it, spent an afternoon trying to track the cache but nothing to do. Sorry didn't check inside the barrels could they be in there? Let me know. I suggest a quick overview just to find out if still there.
Thanks geoge
