Archiving due to changes in our travel routine which rule out passing the spot on a regular basis. A shame, as it's a such a great spot. .
Looked and looked but couldn't find it. Rechecked my calculations and got the same co-ords and chatted for about 10mins to a stranger. With a clear searching brain tried again but still no luck.
Is it still here?

Found it on the 31\5\2010 we can't access our old profile so i'm resubmitting the one's we have found I got a Chicago Dolphin trackable. we r getting back into it again now we have 2 Geo Kids so it should be fun!
Couldn't locate it yesterday after searching for over 1/2 hour! Could it be possible that the big fella has lost his relevant arm?
Nice bridge and a break on the drive back to Warrnambool on a rainy day. Needed the Geocaching vehicle to help retrieve so thanks for the hint but I am sure ratings should be higher! TFTC
We've been past this bridge hundreds of times. It was good to spend some time finding out some info about it. A couple of years ago when the Hopkins River & Emu Creek flooded, the water level was over this old bridge, nearly up to the new bridge. Geokid3 found this cache. TFTH o'cholio, I love these multi's where we have to solve puzzles/questions to get the coordinates.
There was a bus load of school kids here when we pulled up but they left soon after leaving us an easy run at the cache.
Thanks indeed

Took three go's to get this one over 2 years.
First after waiting for a muggle to leave the GPS battery went flat.
Second I convinced the wife to pull over on the way home from the pub and a Muggle decided to sleep the night a couple of meters from the cache.
Then third I had to outwait a muggle before I could pick it up.
Out of all the caches I have done this was the one I had most trouble with muggles.
Go Figure.

Day 2 of our trip in Victoria with our American friends. This was the first for the day with Drooling 4 Cache.
A quick stop on the way home to Mt Gambier. Weather was a bit dodgy so we did this as quick as possible. Being as I am vertically challenged I brought out my trusty crate to stand on.
Thanks

Found with Mogni on our Geelong girls getaway.
Easily calculated and after Mogni stretched and climbed it was in hand.
Mogni was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities.

As a cyclist wooden bridges were never much fun. This bridge, while kept for historic reasons, shows the full extremes of bridges that had to be raced across. Sometimes I think some bridges were not as good.
Times have moved on and this treasure reminds all of work involved and the risks taken to cross water.
Thanks o'cholio for setting this nice treasure. The bananas absorbed themselves in this discovery.

I removed a page of the log, where some muggle was thoughtful enough to advise that they had 'stole some 5hi7 8i7ch35'
First cache for the day. Great to read & learn about the history of this bridge. I enjoy these puzzles. Took TB green lizard. SL TFTC
There is a bit of a rest stop here, the cache find is straight forward. sl tftc
Always driven past finally stopped because of cache. Dropped in gecko travel bug. Great spot. TFTC!
An easy find and a lot of reminicing. Went to school in this village many years ago, swam in a waterhole a hundred mtrs or so downstream from the bridge. Not much of the village left now.
Travelling home from Port Fairy to Melbourne with the caravan on the back, not to many options for caches but this one was perfect.
Nice little wayside stop with a story.
Enjoyed the history, decoded quickly and retrieved the out of sight cache.

Found on a caching day out with S 4 Sammy and ST37E.
This one took two visits thanks to a parked muggle watching our every move. Wandered around some hoping he might move on, Tilley got a good walk, the ablutions were visited, another walk, but he wasn't moving so we decided to leave the cache until on the way home from Warrnambool. Made the stop at about 11pm...no muggles! After a bit of a dig and flick, cache was in hand. SL TN TFTC

Figured out the co-ords on the way to Warrnambool however there was a muggle parked right next to it.
So we came back on the way home to Ballarat. A bit tough to get at, but with a bit of ingenuity cache was in hand.
Found with ST37E, Kinkell1 & Tilley TB on a cache trip to Warrnambool!

Found with geochild on our way to Warrnambool and our Great Ocean Road adventure. Gathered info then had to wait for GPS to get signal which took forever. Then discovered that there was a van not far from GZ lucky they must have been asleep inside had to get geo child to help with this one else it would have been staying there as I couldn't reach. Thanks for the history lesson and the cache. T(GC)L3 TFTC
A very interesting bridge indeed! Great to see that money and effort went into preserving this excellent piece of engineering.
Just as we approached GZ, a muggle family pulled up and decided to have a smoko. We hung around longer than planned and eventually made the grab. Left a Coin that wants to travel to points of interesting engineering.

Great to finally stop here again, this time for a cache
Cache itself was easy to fine with clear clues & good co-ord's!

The ageing Bushfire was invited out on a day’s caching with the VKC1SR team on a trip to Warrnambool and return in the 4x4 owned by one of the team, great vehicle.
This was the third cache of the day with 23 being found and this was the second o'cholio found today at 10.00.
This area deserves a cache and great to check out the old bridge and very clean toilets.
Glad we a tall member of the team as it helped to locate this guy.
Thanks o'cholio for placing this cache.

Obtained co-ords on initial visit on 23/1. Sadly we couldn't access GZ at that time as while we were getting co-ords a car pulled up in the shade at GZ, turned his radio on and went to sleep. We initially waited, having something to eat and then plucked up the courage to "explore" GZ. Sadly, due to the proximity (about 4 feet) of the car from GZ we left it.
On return trip two days later a quick and easy find by GeoH (this one was not for GeoW). TFTC - a great little spot.

Cache checked and found missing. It's been replaced with better cover. Let's see how this one goes.
New coordinates and anew cache, I still couldn't find it. So here's my second DNF on this one.
This area looks like a bomb's hit it. Or maybe a swollen river swept through it. Either way, the cache didn't stand a chance. Cache now replaced in a new location. Couple of photos for those who are interested.

Just had this picture of the river sent (see attached). I think the cache may have last been seen making its way over the Hopkins Falls near Warrnambool .
Will replace it in a couple of months...

Offline due to flooding in the area. Looking at some of the other photos of the district, we'd be surprised if the bridge was still there! Or the cache for that matter.

Found early this afternoon whilst in area for work. Liked the old bridge and the creek. Was raining a bit so took cache back to car to sign the log. Nice easy multi in an interesting spot that I wouldn't have known about without the cache. Will stop by again. Left a TB. TN. Thanks o'cholio.

Past here on our way to Melbourne and discoved we had no coordinates or cache notes for this one. Had it all on the ay back and went to GZ which looked a bit of an odd spot for a cache and well trampled around the area. No cache to be seen!
Lovely old bridge and nice partial rebuild.

Found by Mary & David at 1830. Delighted to see that this bridge has had at least a partial face lift. Should allow it to survive for another century. Our thanks once more to o'cholio.
found with kia 1 on a caching afternoon, used a lot of time on this one,gz seemed to be of the cords a bit so a bigger radius was needed to find this one. TFTC SL.
Decided to do a caching day with carrots3.
This one created a bit of a challenge as it turned out.
No matter where we looked, nothing.
We looked high, low, in, under and you name it.
Anyway after 1hr AND double checking the quiz guess what!!!! that’s right.
It was quite a relief to get the find.
Our cords guided us to a spot a little away from GZ.
Well done O’Cholio,
Took the Shark and left a lobster. TFTC SL

Heading off back to Melbourne after doing the fireworks for the Warrnambool New Year's Eve celebrations we decided on a more scenic way home to pick up a few caches. This was a great start to our caching year, wpt1 had some very interesting history about this structure as well as the structure itself. After having a good look at both old and new craftmanship we headed off to gz for a very pleasant surprise to find a blank first page in the logbook making it a FTF for our last cache of 2009 and the first cache for 2010.
Thanks o'cholio for the cache, Happy New Year to you.
PS: we put a stash note and a small highlighter in the cache
