As there has been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it has been a number of months since the last owner note I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 28 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

CO has not logged in over a month this cache is still 'Active', no reply to a maintenance request 3 weeks ago, so Archive request to get it off the map.

Hope the CO is ok, he seems to have just dropped out of sight.

Muggle partner had to go to Warradale for what ended up being quite a few hours, so what better way for me to fill in time while wiating than to grab a few caches Wink
While I stopped at 24, I only found 20 Smile but still a great day locus caching on a very wet, blustery day! Cool
My apologies today but I was not in my caching car as a result of a last minute decision to go with muggle partner, so I had no logs or containers to be able to do any maintenance Sad

A DNF for me Sad
I had parked the car and walked in prior to looking at the logs but still had a pretty good search around, with no luck.

4 of us spent 10mins trying to find this, but didn't. Nice spot though!

16-Jul-13
I was going to DNF this first but since 3 others have already seems a straight Maintenance post will be better.

There are only so many places a small container can be put at GZ, and I would like to think I checked them all before moving on.

Given there is a window that you *can not* avoid while checking GZ, I wonder if this is the reason it is gone, someone inside saw and removed the container.

14-Jul-13
Tried a couple of times with no luck today

25-Jun-13

This cache was found on Day Three of our Four Day Adelaide Caching Tour, with TriBre, Fairybum, Mastamak, KidzJCT and Running as Teams BosNewellgus and Gummy Dales. We where down one Member today due to work commitments, so it was a slow relaxing day before the big 24Hr run.

We ventured down to Glenelg to see the beach, the weather was cold but it was good to feel the fresh sea air. We had just had breakfast at one of the many restaurants in the area and it was time to walk it all off. We arrived near GZ and began to wonder how are we going to retrieve the cache with so many people around. Well first we had to locate the cache. We had an idea of its location and it was quiet simple in the end. Walk right up to cache and remove it. Sometimes it is like a band aid just got to go in and rip it off. The cache was in great condition! It must get a lot of attention, in its location.

This was the 1st find of 9 finds for the day in SA, with 0 DNF's by this time of the day.

Found this cache with Geo-rge after we attended the ANZAC dawn service nearby.

This cache was a properly named "Hold fast" as we both served in the Corp of Royal Australian Engineers and the Military radio call sign is "HOLDFAST"

Here is also a bit of history behind the naming of Holdfast Bay......

Holdfast Bay is a small bay in Gulf St Vincent, next to Adelaide, South Australia. Along its shores lie the City of Holdfast Bay and the popular beach-side suburb of Glenelg.

The bay was named by Colonel William Light, South Australian surveyor general, in mid-1836. In his journal he expressed his pleasure at the quality of the anchorage after riding out a storm. Holdfast Bay was the site of the landings in 1836 and 1837 by pioneers who were to set up the colony of South Australia. On 8 November 1836 Robert Gouger, Colonial Secretary and Chief Magistrate, arrived there aboard the Africaine and set up camp near The Old Gum Tree. With the arrival of Governor Hindmarsh on 28 December and the proclamation of the new colony, the Holdfast Bay settlement became the first seat of government of South Australia. (It remained the seat of government until mid-March 1837.) On 31 December 1836 the Holdfast Bay settlement was renamed Glenelg.

On hour 4 week holiday from Canada in Australia. Visiting NSW, Victoria, Tassie, and South Australia. Discovering your country by car, bus, boat, coach, airplane and by foot. MY FIRST FIND FOR 2013 and WITHOUT a GPS!!!! Not even my phone!!!
This is the 3rd Xmas hol we have looked for this! Fail, fail, fail. Yr1 4 of us climbing all over structure, yr2 multiple attempts ranging from 3 to 1 and again all over it!!
Several attempts in the mean time. Today one last go....with the ELF and there it was in plain view....it surely must have been in some cacher's hand last time. How could we have missed it with such thorough searches, when today it was in the 2nd spot we re looked!!!????? Phew another nemesis off my list!!! TwistedTwisted

Tonight we were in the area having Dinner and going to the beach on this very hot night. This was the 113rd find of 113 for the day.

It was nice to be able to relax around this area after completing a portion of the Wandering Heroes earlier today.

While Mum and Dad sat back in the restaurant, Hannah (sister) and I went for a little walk to have a look at the sunset and find this cache. It was absolutely muggles galore today but thankfully, the cache was placed in such a position that muggles didn't pose much of a problem.

Hannah was actually the one to spot it first, not me [B)]

A great spot to show off and a well-sized cache. Don't forget to check out the photo of the sunset I uploaded Big Grin

Thanks for the last for a big day, howie_sf Big Grin
