TFTC. On arrival we thought Oh No not another BBB. Huge sigh of relief when cache was easily found and log signed.

Picked up Detofinbars and headed to Burra for lunch and beers with a mate that I played cricket against over 30 years ago. He's currently on holidays visiting his parents and relatives. Picked him up and he joined us and learned about geocaching, as well as a magnificent, guided tour and history of the Burra area after a great lunch. With little or no internet, we still manage to get a few caches around the town. We also got a few on the way there and home. Overall a fantastic day was had. TFTCWere going to go through gate on eastern end, but tour guide suggested going from western end be easlier. Great find without having to go near the catus bushes.

We were prepared to don the appropriate PPE but were relieved to discover it was not required. Cheers for the cache.

10-Jan-24
Opened the gate and drove in. Good to see the cache isn't in the neaby cactus. Quick find at gz but the lid is cracked. replaced container broken lidFound with Mogni. This was a very, very last minute trip.I found out that i had to be in the " clare region " the next day by lunch the next day on muggle business. After that business was over i headed up to jamestown to get a 2001 cache via any adventure labs or caches i haven't found before staying in a B& B in Penworthm. Now it was time to start heading home via dirt roads to Burra for the new Adventure lab and then down every dirt road/track with caches on it and the odd track that needed the hubs locked on the ute. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.

A favourite point from us..went through the gate and made our way up the track to find a wonderful rustic structure. Looked through the open side..must watch Breaker Morant again to see if we can spot it. Followed the track along to the end which was heaps of fun! TNLNSL TFTC

Naughtybunny and I were greeted at the nearby intersection by a couple of gates which were unlocked. As there were road signs nearby and we were pretty sure this was a public road, we entered and drove up to GZ. After a little looking around we had it in our hands. Loved the old structure nearby but didn't like the potential snake habitats around here. TNLN. Cheers.

11-Sep-23
The gate looks locked but isn't, we actually drove up to GZ. Plenty of room to turn around. Interesting spot, I took a few pics of the rusty old roof nearby, Muggle Mum LOVES rusty metal stuff! I wouldn't be keen to be looking for this cache in warmer weather, this hide would be a great snake resting spot! I would recommend the use of a long handled TOTT.TFTC hamishgrovers

Access gate is locked.

Walked up from the highway – there was a closed gate at the bottom, but it was not locked. Didn’t know whether I was going onto private property, but apparently not. Nice walk up and back. Cache all good. TFTC

Traveling the back roads around Burra TFTC

17-Sep-21
We have been travelling around this great country, calling into see many different places,
now is a quick chance on the computer to catch up with logs and to put some smileys on the map for where we have been.
Thanks to all the COs for some great finds.
TFTC

17-Sep-21
So many cacti around.
If only these could talk and tell us the history.
The hands which planted them, the farmers who toied the land, the workers in the sheds...
It's great to be able to travel and see so many quaint little country towns.
As we meander down towards GeoVenture 2020 (in 2021), Millicent, we stopped to put a smiley here.
It's wonderful to explore SA through the eyes of a Geocacher,
especially when it takes us to such interesting places.
We found your cache and with signing duties done and dusted,
we replace the cache as found.
Thanks for sharing this interesting location.

Love the back tracks in the country. The fresh air, singing birds, the old buildings and the smell of wet earth, I'm in heaven.

After a relaxing weekend in Burra Burra it was time to head home, the long way of course .

TFTC Keep smiling

A detour to this one. My car really wasn’t suited to this road at all and a few oh no this could be bad moments but I got through it. Cache was found in the first place I looked.

Today I headed from Adelaide up north caching my way along from cache to cache and found myself in Peterborough for the evening. Stopped at Clare and Burra along the way as well as doing a few lab caches. Roughly 80 finds for the day.

Thanks for the cache

While staying in Burra for a few days we are sightseeing and grabbing a few caches as we wander around in this beautiful historic town.

We were very glad to read this one wasn’t hidden in the cactus.....bet the look pretty amazing when they are in flower though. In a few years when the young cactus that have germinated on the opposite side of the track get as big as their parents this will be a very hard find unless coming from the opposite, more distant track

Many thanks for the hide hamishgrovers

It was that time of the week again. Surprised It was time for the Wednesday Wanderings of the Puzzled Puzzler group in search of those smilies. [^] Today I got to join S.A. Sewer Rats, Blackadders and sushilord for a wander up towards Burra in search of solved puzzles and anything else that we were passing. [^]

This could have been so, so much harder if it had been placed closer to BBB territory. Surprised Luckily it wasn't and was a quick find. Smile

**Thanks hamishgrovers for this cache. ** Big Grin

26-Jun-19
The usual weekly Wednesday with some of the Puzzled Puzzlers. The plan was to clear out Burra and any others on the way. The Starfish, KORF and the Adder met at the Sewer Rats at 9am for this long day of seeking plastic containers in the outback.

Another test for the 2WD but we made it to GZ where the Rat made the prickly find. TFTC

Approach this from the Ouch cache most thought I had to engage in the 4x4 mode would be an interesting drive in the wet. made it more interesting it was dark. Found quick once we got there.

17-Nov-18
The hardest part was getting here, drove in the opposite way and didn't see the cactus until we were on our way out. It was already dark and didn't get to see the full extent of their growth.

01-Nov-18
As our holiday is almost finished now, we are just tiki-touring around the local countryside picking up as many caches as we can. Hot weather is forecast so travelling in the air conditioned car is the preferable way to get around today.

A bumpy road, but cache was found easily. tftc

ACTchil and I had attended the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs this Easter Weekend and travelling back to Canberra. We stayed at the little Caravan park in Burra which was a really nice spot, great showers. We got up early and packed up the camper trailer and off to grab the caches and have a town full of smilies then to Redcliffs for the night. The gps took us to a dirt track however too muddy to drive up so we walked the 210m to the cache noticing the filed of Yukka Cactius'to or surporise wasn't near a cactus, ACTchil went in and grab this one an easy find for him. tftc hamishgrovers

Having explored the delights of Burra, Owl's family were relaxing. So Owl decided to round out the day with a few extra smilies. This was the first stop and quite an adventure. However, South Africa was soon reached and a prickly cache located. The log was full, so a new one has been supplied.

#6396 - 14:50; Day 5 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. After a night in Burra, today we decided to head down to Clare for some sightseeing and caching then caching our way back to Burra. Our mini mission to Clare completed, we were now back in Burra rounding up the local caches. Managed to find the track in and proceeded slowly to GZ. A comprehensive search saw the cache in hand and log signed soon after. TFTC hamishgrovers Smile

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n. We headed through Hay, Mildura, Loxton, Burra before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed.

Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

30-Mar-17
On our way to Alice Springs for the Event over Easter, and I had set myself the challenge of finding over 300 caches to reach my 3000 milestone when I register there. We had a huge couple of days completing the TdeF trail which meant that I only had about another 115 to find. I wasn't intending to do much caching today but it was just too easy to get caught up again. This was #4 of 12 caches found successfully.

To all COs, thank you for placing and maintaining these caches and my apologies for my generic log.

All caches were either signed or stamped.
