Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
When I saw the name of the cache, I immediately thought of a tin man cache in busselton WA. This wasn't the same, however an easy find TFTC
On my way to Port Lincoln for 3 nights. Haven't been down this way before so going to have a bit of a look around. First impressions are very good
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Visiting Tumby Bay today, the name of this one piqued my interest so we pulled up to meet him..ah ok, maybe not but CIH anyway, Tftc
A quick drive by on our way home from Pt Lincoln. Miss 5 has her bag of swaps and is on the hunt for swag. An interesting story, I dont remember the tin man. TFTC!
Found as We continue on our EP holiday, Its been a nice and chilly adventure!
We have been working our way out to Maralinga and down and around the Eyre Peninsula after the JLWE.org event in Kyancutta. Travelling with other cachers here and there.
Now on the home run

Country, Coffee, Cats, Champagne, Chocolate, and Caching...
Careful caching as always with Jack helping, wherever we go.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp )
----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Found as we headed south towards Port Lincoln during a trip to Eyre Peninsula for a few days. Camped out at Lipson Bay for the night followed by another quick roadside stop. Thanks for the cache SA_Parrothead!
Another cache found during our 2022 South Australia adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead, we still have no idea where the Tin Man is.

Port Lincoln to Adelaide road trip.
Day One: Port Lincoln to Cleve.
The East Coast has barely even started drying out but conditions here are perfect.
Roads aren’t busy either.
Thanks to all the COs for making the Eyre Peninsula a great caching destination.
I’ll have to google to see what I have missed here. The old cache is extremely brittle now, but the newer inner cache is fine.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead.

Staying at Tumby Bay CP. went for a drive to Lipson & Ungarra & picked up a few caches on the way. Tftc
We left Port Lincoln this morning and went wandering north with ilook4geo, picking up some of the caches along the way. Each found log was signed with two more names to mark our visit. Thank you SA ParrotHead for placing this cache for us to find.
On the road with goinplaces2 and heading toward Tumby Bay. Having a nice slow day with just a few caches. Found what we wanted, signed the logs, all were replaced. Job done! TFTC.
TFTC. I even gave Wolly a few hints to find the cache ..... 7-0 to Sharon. Next time I might stay in the car so Wolly can get one! or not!
Happy caching and safe travels!

Easy find in the open. Log book is mouldy but serviceable. Thank you for the placement of this cache SA_ParrotHead find number 7349 at 15 February 2021 12:42 pm
A 2 week tour of the West Coast started in Streaky Bay, then to Coffin Bay, then to Tumby Bay and finally a couple of days in Whyalla.
All caches were in good condition unless I've posted a Needs Maintenance log.
A windy day as we toured the back blocks of Tumby Bay.

Sometimes it is hard to understand council decisions. Thanks SA_ParrotHead.
This weekend, I joined [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.
I initially didn't understand the reference about the Tumby Tin Man, but from what the description mentions and the associated gallery photos, it appears that an old tin man was moved up the road to the museum? How interesting. We made a quick stop here, and I made the quick find. The cache is only small sized, not regular as per the description (refer to the attached photograph)? Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks SA_ParrotHead for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Stopped by this one on the road, a quick find was made cache is all good
Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

A day in Tumby Bay to explore, not enough time to visit all today but did find a few as well as exploring the wall art around town, after dinner we decided we would do a few more caches by torchlight as we returned to our accomadation at Port Neil. Did not see the tin man but did find the cache.

Found while travelling back to PA from Port Lincoln to get the car serviced. A quick roadside find. TFTC.
When we come to Port Lincoln Daughter Loves caching with us. So good she is finding them BEFORE we stop the car !!TFTC
Reasonably accurate coordinates led to a quick find. However the lid of the outer container has totally disintegrated. That is why the previous finder had placed the container upside down to protect the contents are much as possible. The pleasing aspect is that another cacher placed a smaller container inside the outer container and the logbook was safe and dry inside. Some urgent maintenance is required here. Thanks SA_Parrothead for the cache.
Geat day for caches
Heading back now and do the northern ones tomorrow

Found by The Marathon Man and pnutbeagle on our 3-month Australia holiday after travelling from snowy and cold Northern Ontario Canada. Now trying to log a week worth of geocaching finds

Day 3. heading in the direction of Port Lincoln for some 4 x 4 caches in the national parks and the kayak caches down there. Also targeting letterbox and earth caches on route plus the odd multi. I will even make Port Lincoln today. Only stopping for the caches that are bigger than a micro. quick find at gz.
Found while staying at the RV park. Container has a large hole in it, and when I opened it, saw what I thought was a plastic spider, and as I touched it, it moved! Ended up tossing the container and contents all over the place. Think I got everything back in the container.TFTC.
Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
After a great sleep last night at Carrow Wells, Port Neill which was so friendly with a great deal at the store for Fathers Day and awesome tourist signage around. Today it was moving day to Port Lincoln, but we decided to stopover in Tumby Bay first and have a good explore. What a pretty town, which had a great vibe to it. The sun came out for a good portion of the day too.
Log was mush and definitely didn't see a Tin Man here? Added a new logsheet.

Making our way back to Adelaide with a stay at Port Pirie and finding caches along the way. Thanks to all the COs.
After our 4 day stay in Port Lincoln way are on our way back to Adelaide taking a few days for the trip. Thank you to all the COs who have placed caches close to the highway to provide a driving break as well as showing us more about the local areas.
Quick find on our way north on the Eyre Peninsula. Logbook has been very wet, and all the pages are stuck together. Needs a bit of TLC. TFTCF
Had a good look around. Coordinate puts me spot bang in he middle of a clearing between some bushes. No tin man to be seen.
Quick easy find with VCM. Container in good condition and log book dry. TNLNSL. TFTC #ttmug
#1171 Fourteenth of seventeen finds on Day 10 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC.
After spending an amazing long weekend exploring Port Lincoln and some of the surrounding areas, we headed back to Adelaide... picking up a few smiles along the way, to break up the long drive. We stopped here thinking we would see a tin man... but, where is the tin man? No where to be seen... but, we did see a cache! TNLN signed log. TFTC SA ParrotHead!!
Where indeed has he disappeared to? Rusted to dust perhaps. Though we did find a cache here so all good from our side.
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!

Easily located as the sun was starting to get low in the sky!! Caching meant it took us a full day to drive from Whyalla to Pt Lincoln!!This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper321. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

Hmmmmmm, I'm not sure where the Tumby Tin Man is...but we did find the cache easily
Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
