I must have been about 30 m away from this archived geocache location when I started/finished Lota parkrun, and despite it still lightly drizzling when parkrun ended, I thought Id make a brief attempt at this archived cache, knowing that it would probably be unlikely that I get a find given the time since its last find on 17/04/2016 (7.5 years!). A nice lookout and location, but no sign of this cache, which is perhaps understandable. The nearby old jetty on the grass/reserve was pretty neat; Thanks anyway svn07 for the cache placement.----------This morning, it was an early start to 2024's New Year's Day to see the sunrise at the [Rise and Shine, it's 2024!!](https://coord.info/GCAHABE) event at Wellington Point. After a snorkel/dive/swim, Lota parkrun was attended and 5 km was jogged, and I got even wetter than my swim with a heavy rain downpour and drenching. It was then an opportunity to visit a few geocaches between Capalaba, Birkdale, and back to Wellington Point, before the rain became too much, and home was headed.
Was on the hunt for old and archived caches. This was an easier find than we thought. Sogned and replaced as found. . TFTC
The geoboy and I went out for a bike ride. He wanted to play in the playground at Lota so I figured we could check out this archived cache while we were here.
After waiting for a guy at the lookout to leave, I searched around down on the beach which is where the GPS seemed to indicate but was aware that anything too low would probably be washed away in a king tide.
Having had no luck, I widened the search area and began looking for anything out of place and it was soon spotted.
A previous finder mentioned the original log still being in place but this now seems to have been removed and there is now a nice clean one in there.

On to this cache today.
This is the second visit here as the last time I was here a bee got caught in my hair and stung me on the neck. It was very painful. Thank goodness I was not allergic to bees like my Dad was.
I can add it to my list of bites from ticks leeches and wasps and now bees. These bees are a lot bigger than the little native black Australian bees which are stingless.
Today I was quick to find and sign the cache and return it to its hide while keeping an eye on the bees.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks svn07 All good with this archived cache

Today I was a little concerned about keeping my streak going, and had a planned stop on the way to work, however that all went out the window when I got a call to come in two hours early, no time to make the stop.
Anyway I got to work and got that out of the way and knew I needed to come by the Wynnum/Manly area on the way home. So looking at my information I did have a kind of small idea this one could still be available, based on recent logs anyway.
I arrived and found the area deserted, and also a definite lack of light, so lucky I had the ever handy torch with me, and headed in the direction that the phone was pointing. I took a little look around a few spots and managed to quickly locate a small container, which is still in place. The container is a little worse for wear, however still holding the log.
I got my name added to the log and replaced the container as found.

With the day off work today, we decided to head off and grab a few caches in this area. This one was next up on the list, and with Fangsoki and Captain Terror with us, we headed in together, and after a quick walk, we soon arrived at GZ
Eventually Captain Terror's keen eye spotted the cache, and whilst avoiding the bee's, we passed the logbook around [^]
A great day out and about in the area today, and with the logbook signed, and the cache returned safely, we were soon on our way to the next one

In my ever time-killing habit of looking at archived geocaches I came across this one and noted it may still well be in place for the finding. Although, maybe the CO had removed it. Either way, it sounded like a good spot to visit. I had spent the afternoon geocaching all around the bayside in what retrospectively looks like a very unorganised fashion but I had fun! This was to be the last find of the day and just as well as the sun was heading for the horizon quickly.
I parked nearby and being a Sunday afternoon, there was a great number of muggles out enjoying the last of the weekend. I made my way over to the lookout and took a seat to assess things. There were muggles behind me but I noted the GPSr pointing a few metres away. I headed down and happily saw that no muggles could see me. I started looking about for a container. A few likely places held nothing. I noted the beehive and being allergic to their stings I was careful. Soon after watching them fly in and out, I spotted the container - somewhat out in the open. Well.. there you go! I grabbed it and noted the years of being outside had made the plastic deteriorate somewhat. But the past logs of it going missing and being munched by animals - it was in good condition. The container still had only small holes and the baggie inside was in perfect shape. The logbook was even dry! There are active caches I can't say the same about!
I added my name to the logbook - the first for over two years before replacing all as found, but with a little bit of cover, just to be sure. I headed back to the car as happy as the proverbial Larry in mud. So I was too early for the moonrise, but it was only a couple of nights ago I was looking at the moons and rings on Jupiter and the crater detail of the full moon with my little telescope. STILL HERE. Bees not a problem. Cache is a few meters away from bees home. Container has seen better days with a couple of holes in it. Family from overseas also looking at the same time as us and they found it to.
Nice easy find, would like to return at night on a full moon... it's a great spot.
The container definitely needs replacing - maybe the next visitor could be a bit more organised than me and take a replacement film canister or eclipse tin or something of that size TFTC.

Second go round and better luck. Like straddie stated our dad has hives and boy domwe enjoy the honey, hope these guys keep happy in their hive.
After enjoying lunch with Dannza at the nearby fish and chip shop we ventured forth to nab this cache. No luck on the first attempt as a muggle family where very close by. Returned latter and found the swarm of bees who minded there own business as we signed the log. My Dad has lots of bee hives. I think its great seeing them in the wild. TFTC svn07
Remembered to bring spare pen for this cache. Wasn't disturbed by bees as I signed the cache.
I also fond the bees
A new cache is needed as this one has been chewed on by some animals. A few holes in it now.

I've always loved this spot and on occasion stop here for morning tea. Out on the bike with the GPS gave me the perfect opportunity to nab this one. Native bees have made a home very close by in the tree but like always they have better things to do than investigate me in the middle of their working week. The container has perished at the bottom but the log is dry. TFTC
What an excellent idea for a cache - sadly tonight was a new moon - so no diamonds for me.
But thankfully, there was a cache to be found. As reported, something has had a gnaw on the container.. and the plastic bag inside. I replaced the baggy - but I didn't have a container like that one (sorry!). Log is in good condition though. I re-hid it as found.

Found it. Thanks Aussie Liahona for the heads up about it still being there. Wildlife must be really hungry to chew plastic when there is other food around. bristracker those arent wild australian bees but European honey bees. But no need to get too close to them. TFTC svn07
On good authority, seems the Moon Diamonds are still good to go...thanks Aussie Liahona! . Will still try to get here soon to check out the container.
Since we were in the area we thought we'd give this one a go. Got to published co-ords and had a thorough look in numerous crevices. Found a hive of native bees in tree but remembered they don't sting so let them sit on my hand. Gentle little creatures. Widened my search just a little and said to Aussie Liahona, it's probably a ....... when suddenly I spied a lid of a ....... and sure enough it was the cache. Now I think a local sharp toothed resident has chewed through the plastic, so it really needs replacing. However we were able to sign the Visitors' Book (no other signatures on the paper). If you come, check out the stylised birds sitting atop the poles in the nearby park. Most interesting. This one is certainly still in place, maybe co-ords one digit more or less, although cache could do with a new container.
We visited this cache today because we felt that the previous cacher who had trouble finding it was not overly experienced and may have missed it. Sure enough the cache is there in it's hidey spot and the log is dry. The container could do with a replacement as something has chewed through the bottom. I went to my car and searched and searched but couldn't come up with a replacement. Sorry. We signed the log and replaced the cache.

Grrrrrr......the "path of destruction" is evident. Perhaps someone will one day find it as a "Message in a Film Canister".
Disabling until the current tempest subsides.

It looks like the cache got washed away by the recent torrential rains but it's worth the trip just to sit and enjoy the spot anyway...
Replaced cache today. Now a bit smaller and you will need your own ink. There is a shiny pathtag for the next finder to kept! Cheers, svn07
We're still pretty clueless at this so don't take our word for it that it's not there!! We had a good look around the area using the geodogs as decoys and not a sign.
Nice spot though so hopefully we'll head back some time

Never a chance of diamonds this overcast afternoon, but to not find the cache, either, made us walk away with sad faces.
There was a guy doing stretches at the lookout, and soon after he left someone else came to do their stretches. Even so I had plenty of time to look but think I was searching too low. The tide was way out when I was there and my GPS had me where the water is in the photo taken by Gunnie69. I expect I was in the wrong place. I was there just before dusk but I didn't see the moon until later as it was quite cloudy. The view was beautiful and I took some photos of the low tide.
really cold night..Lucky I am a blanket girl and have several in the car at all times.....
but lovely meal at Bindy&Homer's and then thought to grab this one on the way home...

We came over to the dark side to have dinner at my sisters, and since this was close by, try and find a cache as well. First time we tried this, there were muggles nearby with a fire, so the search wasnt as good as it could of been. A phone call to Gunnie confirmed we were in the right spot, so after dinner we ventured back out here & quickly had the cache in hand.

about 5:15pm. Looked for this one just as it was getting dark. The missus had her third find for the day (and fourth find ever), locating it quite quickly. Lovely sunset! TNLN. TFTC. PS. Could use a new pencil, or at least sharpening of the old one.
There were teenage muggles on the play equipment but luckily I saw the cache and could sit beside it to extract it.
I had replaced the cache and leaving when they decided to venture to the lookout. Timed it quite nicely.
I took the geocoin. Thanks svn07. This deserves a *recommended* tick for the location.

We had a few minutes to spare before meeting friends for dinner, so we thought we would look for a few Moon Diamonds - it was just before dusk though, so we missed out on finding any. We found the cache but and enjoyed the view just the same. TFTC svn07

One day early for a full moon. Cache in a great spot. Thanks for sharing this place with us.
This one had a sense of deva ju about it, and have vague collection of trying to find another cache here without luck. Anyhow I like this one as I found it. Geodaughter and I did this one in the afternoon so we didn't see the diamonds. Anyhow nice spot and not too many muggles around.
Some nice houses with some nice views here. I wonder which one of these mansions belongs to svn07.

We found your cache during our site-seeing whirlwind tour of Brisbane - would love to have stayed longer but had trouble finding a Caravan park to stay at the would accept our geohounds and not charge and absolute fortune. The one we picked was an absolute dump and at $35 per night we werent going to hang around. Thanks so much for brightening our day by showing us this wonderful spot. Now on to Hervey Bay.
Found immediately I arrived at GZ. Gotta love that [^]. At 11:30am, there weren't any diamonds, not even the glare of the sun off the water. Plenty of mozzies though. I'm thinking you'd better bring plenty of Aeroguard when you come to see those moon diamonds 'svn07' mentions in the cache notes. Sounds like a very fond memory. Hope you get to see them often [:X][:X][:X].
Found this cache while on holiday in Brisbane and surrounds. Thanks For The Cache TNLN SL
Just beautiful. Managed to plan this one for right on sunset. Camera in hand, we were all prepared. Was also a relatively clear night which was convenient. Muggles annoyingly close by to ruin the serenity however they moved along in time and we sat and watched the sun go down and the moon diamonds sparkle. 2 nights off full moon but it was still stunning. Thanks svn07
After 6 months of not much time for caching at all today I managed a few hours to nab a few local caches.

Missed the full moon but caught a king tide instead... [^] Quite busy through this area today as our muggle friends marvelled in the spectacle of the biggest king tide in 9 years... There was certainly a lot of water beneath GZ...
I was in the company of the cache owner who watched on as I hunted the container. GPS had me right on the water line as GZ but, the container was safe and well a little higher up... Over in the park a muggle and his hound wanderred in and sat facing in my direction... Hmm... Time for some stealth prior to relocation.. A quick photo of Svn07 and a sideways shuflle, the cache was back in place... [^] I grabbed the resident coin and dropped a couple off...
What a great spot. I will have to come back and take a look at low tide so see the difference in the landscape... Cheers Svn07.

We make a special trip here for the full moon on 30 January 2010. Wau... the moon was so nice.
Spent some romantic moment with my wife under the bright moon and cool breeze. The "dock" sculpture nearby is a nice place to lay down and starring blankly into the sky.
Moon is bright in this lovely night
Both of us cuddle side by side
Since when everything feels so light
For this moment... is heavenly right.
ps: Will you still remember what the moon tonight looked like in a year time? Hope future cacher to this cache will also share some beautiful full moon pic.

I saw this one pop up on Wednesday night,

as I expected the FTF to go to some enthusiastic cacher?
But I was pleasantly surprised!
