Absolutely nothing against the CO, nor the reviewers (who do an awesome job - thanks!)
But I feel it might be time for this one to be laid to rest, as it was last successfully found over 2 years ago

No joy here. I'm pretty sure that the hide has been disturbed by recent works on the surf club driveway and the new footpath. GZ is different when compared to a previous finder's picture of GZ. I did stomp around the scrub on the off chance of finding it, but no luck. I strongly suspect that this needs CO intervention.
Couldn't locate first time round, so headed to the beach for a surf. Second attempt there were too many muggles about. Will try again another day!
I am very reluctant to be the first to enter a DNF log after there have been so many finds but I think I searched thoroughly enough to be reasonably confident the cache was not there.
Everything suggested to me that this would be a very easy find apart from the lack of finds in recent weeks. I thought this was a bit strange as I reckoned there would be likely to have been many visitors over this time of year.
There was certainly no cache of the size described at the site where my GPSr zeroed out. A couple of metres away, there was a spot where I could easily imagine the cache once resided. Not far away, there was also a place where a large cache could be better concealed but that would have made a lie of the terrain rating.
After a few minutes searching, we moved on to have a walk around the area. On the return trip, there were a couple of other searchers in the same area we had been. The search resumed but after a while, we agreed that the cache was not there, although the discovery of a wasp nest not far away probably hastened that decision.

This area needs prepared GPS as cellphone coverage very poor.
That means it's a great holiday resort and the beach was great in the evening sun.
Passing by on way from Wellington to Auckland (with variations).

4.05pm - Able to drive within 150 metres of cache. Very windy and rough seas today. Found cache covered in wet SLTFTC
Another grand adventure with Gap (of Fap and Gap). We hope to rack up as many caches as we can, and put them toward our current GIO License Challenge. Today, we head to North-West Waikato to tackle some of the most isolated, far-flung caches I've ever seen. A big drive that will take us from Port Waikato to Raglan Harbour, and everywhere in between... And the weather is going to make this ride interesting.
The neighbours were coming and going, which proved to be quite disruptive to our caching plans... How dare they! We decided to leave to search for the other beach cache, and when we returned, the situation was no better. Gap positioned the car to screen our cache hunt. Got this big beauty... TFTC.

Wow, found it, took a bit to find though, very well hidden in shrub with very little cellphone reception to help
This was the first of the day for me in the company of HKCB, 11HPG11 & NovaLightning. We planned a morning of it to give a great starter to the day in light of the upcoming Asylum paintball that we were joining in later in the day.
As usual on days like this there is a whole lot of laughter, poking fun at others and essentially planning for future caching adventures.
HKCB soon had this in hand (it's always great to locate another large) and we head to collect a few more
Thanks for the placement

With the Event planned later in the day there was a group of 4 from Hamilton that set off at 6am to start collecting caches. There were a couple that we were targeting but lots that we wanted to collect.
A great spot for a cache and one that I didnt now about.

A great sized cache that I dropped a TB into. Thanks for bringing us to this great little spot. Port Waikato looked stunning in the early morning light.
We were visiting the area and decided to see if there was a cache nearby. A great addition to a fabulous day. TFTC
I needed a large cache for one of the license challenges, so I was glad to find this one!
I've never been to Port Waikato before. It reminded me of Mahia on the eastern side of the island - baches, tractors parked on lawns, beach wear, no kerbing etc.
Great to see where the river ends

Found this a couple of days ago. Right under our noses it was too. Lots of interesting trade goods. But unfortunately there was a great right hand break pumping half way up the beach so no time to sit and sort. Sneaky cache well done.
New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 12, Waingaro to Auckland, Western Park. I was happy this was a much simpler find after the last one. It seemed a bit out in the open but no one was around and it was soon finished. Thanks.

Spotted it yesterday but didn't have the TB with me. Today it was a quick thing, 1 TB out + 1 TB in. I told my host about geocaching and she gave me dome swops that fit the theme here.

I was a little worried this being our first with out any help but it was easier and the tresures in there where great, my daughter had a great time finding somthing and then replacing it. They were very careful so that no one didnt see them . Loved it thanks indiana Jill . Could do with some more out our way
I to was amazed that this is still here. Parked next to the cache and rumaged through all the treasure while in the car so not to draw to much attention to myself. Took all four TB's, and left 5.
TFTC . I am amazed that this ENORMOUS cache has remained unmuggled & still so full of treasure. We overnited in the carpark after a very late arrival & woke to a beautiful surfbeach location & sunshine just coming up!Wow! Swapped some TB's & some other bits n bobs-this is like real treasure-hunting

Our first cache and what a cache! Had some muggles from the surf club practicing surf boat set up maneuvers but they obviously knew about it. They gave us the thumbs up before we started looking. VERY impressed with all the goodies. Looking forward to the other three caches at the Port.

A nice quick find on arrival to GZ and a nice sized cache too! Dropped a few trackables for moving along. TFTC!
Excellent sized cache for the area - a quick find, our last for the afternoon. Went for a stroll in the dunes before heading back to the big smoke. TFTC!!!
Whoa!!!! What a beautiful cache container. Just shows you don't have to put micros in tight places. Well done, girls.
Swapped TBs.
Cheers for the cache.

There was nobody just one guy who mowed all the grass around this area. So we had to be very careful.

My first Geocache ever... was so happy as I found it...
I walked 4 times around it because the GPS of my Phone isn't very accurate, it was fun, though.
Inside the container it's a bit sticky, but the goodies and the logbook is good sealed in plastic bags.

Spent a fantastic weekend in Port Waikato with our local scout group & even incorporated a Geocaching session for some of the kids . They had great fun going through the lovely big cache while we signed the log. Thanks Indiana Jill for placing this here.
Quick find with the cubs & scouts. Great size cache with lots of interest in the loot inside... TFTC
It was a such a fantastic day for a picnic so we set off to somewhere new to see what we could find. This find was definetly a large one housing many goodies. Had to be a bit sneaky as some locals were catching up in the middle of the road within 25m of GZ. Found, signed and replaced without them being any the wiser. TFTC.
There was certainly no problem adding a marble to this container!
+ a large marble, - nothing.

Think we were following alsifs about here today. What a fantastic cache and in our opinion the best one of the ones out here. Fantastic hide in a very public place. A favorite from thejaybees as well. TFTC SL TNLN
A lovely day to cycle from Tuakau out to Port Waikato over the lovely Klondyke Road. And then, found a lovely spot at the Gardens to have lunch and find a cache. Had to wait a while for a muggle to move on. Picked up a Chunky NL Fryslan Coin. Not many cows here for it to visit. It will have a new home soon. Then moved on to the beach to find what must be one of the LARGEST caches ever (I don't suppose anyone has used a 20' container yet!). Bit of a problem hiding from prospective muggles with just a bike to shield me, but I think the operation was a success! TFT very big C!
Great cache - middle of a busy Sunday afternoon. Had eyes on but didn't lift due to high levels of muggle activity
Excellent - such a large container! Checked this one out on foot first, then came and parked the car as instructed to cover our movements. We stayed to watch a beautiful sunset over the beach, which seems to be the thing to do here in the evenings.
Easy jumbo find - great for the extra kids who had never found a cache before. Took the travel bug truck.
Af course it was an easy found. Even in the middle of the rain we loved this cache.
We took two toffees (bit old, but still welcome). There was a little bit of space left hahahaha so I left a big car TB.
For all the beautiful goodies, i want to reward this with a favorites point. There were even dogbags for my doggies hihihihi

Very easy once we stopped trying too hard. GPS cords very accurate. Kids loved doing swaps with all the goodies.
Arrived at GZ not sure where best to park and while we were looking around we spotted what we suspected was the cache sitting exposed on the bracken. We parked closeby and on closer inspection, found that it was the cache . Lucky that it hadn't been muggled or disgarded as rubbish but everything seemed to be intact and we rehid it where we assumed it should have been. T4TC.
Nice big cache loaded with goodies. TNLN tho. 8 week old babies in tow, who didn't appreciate me making a stop. Will have to attempt the other ones in the area when they are a bit older.
Wow, we've rarely come across such a large cache. Bit of camo paint might help. TNLNSL TFTC
Looks like such a risky and tempting container of lovely goodies. Lets hope it survives and brings many other geocachers out to this beautiful place. NINO left them for the kids.
4130 Great spot for a cache... couldn’t park next to GZ, so we used some other parked cars to screen our activities. Always nice to see a large container with lots of goodies. Well done.
Wow, nice to see a large well stocked cache for a change. Very daring hiding place for such a beast, do hope it lasts.

My timing wasn't the best here. The life guards had just finished for the day which meant lots of activity close by as they washed equipment down and packed things up. Managed to park the car in the perfect place but still couldn't believe it when I saw where the cache was. So close yet so tricky to grab. Decided to wander down to the shop to get a drink but still too many people about after getiing back to the car. The legs were a bit sore after a walk up the Kaimais earlier in the day but keen to nab the cache so went for a wak down to the beach for 20 min. On returning this time there were only two people left so I elected to wait them out. 15 minutes later the coast was finally clear.
Fingers crossed that the cache stays hidden for a good length of time!
Many thanks

This is a very daring hide for such a big cache, hope it will stay secure. Great to see such an excellent swag inside too. Yay for big caches. Great beachfront to visit, and a lovely day out at Waikato Heads today. TFTC
This was truly a mission and it got better as the day progressed.
We planned a drive out to this cache this morning, and just before we left got the notification of 2 more new caches in the area.
On the way another email arrived about a 3rd new cache.
yahoo I thought this is just perfect timing. Often its the other way around where you have just been to an area and
There was a problem later with the 3rd new cache as I hadnt any co-ords but I digress.
After doing a new one at Tuakau we moved on to these port ones.
This was the 3rd cache of the day and I had to go back to Tuakau to get enough signal to get the co-ords for the latest new cache.
This is certainly a large container-hope it can stay here. Similiar in size to a very old South Auckland cache.
