This cache's GZ has disappeared under a new construction zone for highway modernization. Therefore it must be archived. We thank all those who have supported this by finding it and signing the log. We're glad you've been given the credit of a smilie. Happy caching.
GZ is still being worked on. Not today, we did have a look around. But did not find the cache.
We are disabling this listing until we go by there in a couple of weeks to check out the location.
This no longer exists. The whole area has now been stripped bare for highway. Will post photos when get home.
Highway's End will not be a quiet country lane again for some time.
The tunnel/highway construction crews have moved in and put up quite a few signs. Trucks and cars a plenty using both sides of the roundabout at the end.
May need a check to see if the cache is still there as I couldn't check with so much activity going on and not knowing exactly where it is/was.

Went to the end after visiting GC1EE4V. Some fairly big birds that I believe to be Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos were watching me do my thing. TFTC!
Smart phone has been not-so-smart recently, with GPS jumping all over the place. So thankfully once we thought about the clue for a moment, we quickly had cache in hand. TFTC
Found with stairman1. We arrived in the dark and with torches in hand the search started. There was certainly an awful smell I can't describe lingering around here [xx(]. We held our noses and continued our search. After a quick search I quickly uncovered the container. The log was nice and dry. Signed our names and then headed out to the fresh air. Thanks AL.
Found with goldielover this evening. Arriving at GZ in the dark we grabbed the torches and headed off. Noticed a very bad smell coming from nearby. Carried on past it and started a search. The GPS would not give us a good area to search but goldielover finally managed the find. Cache in great condition.

Hey, hey second person today.
Looking for a break from the white line and decided to look up the 2 caches here.

Great avenue leading here but an awful lot of rubbish around GZ. Took NZ badge and dragon (and a lot of rubbish); left NZ shell and car. Thanks for bringing us here.
Out and about now that the rain has stopped. Trusted the GPS and found after a short search. TFTC.
This one took a few minutes to locate. GPSr was moving all over the place and the sign mentioned in the hint is laying on the ground. So i had a snoop around and then saw a familiar sight. Nice size cache, dropped of two new TB's to begin their journeys. TFTC.
End of a mornings caching and the end of the road for this cache
I wonder how long since this was the main highway south
Walked straight through a large spiders web to get to ground zero
I think I was wearing half of the web
Took trackable Aussie-Bound for Jody1V for a visit

Great find with the kids. Love any largeish containers, for the treasure is what the kids get excited about. Swapped goodies, for goodies...and displaced the poor spider again.
Interesting spot, amazing to see the difference between the old and new. Saw a scary spider at GZ who was guarding the way and wasn't too impressed when we destroyed his web!! Coords were pretty good and with the clue was a fairly quick find. TFTC
Visiting from Tassie and after exploring Byron Bay, we loved this avenue of trees! It was like driving into another world ... totally peacefully magical, after the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay! Cache was well hidden, but also fairly easy to find. Thank you Aussie Liahona!
No sign of graffiti muggles today although, I suspect they will be staying away for a while as the works are undertaken just 100m away from GZ... [^]
I pulled up close by and shut the car down, just as one of the tradies wandered past and headed through the tunnel... Hmm, I wonder where he was going... [?]
While he was gone though, I had business to take care of and sheepishly headed into the bush. Once there, I was greeted with a semi concealed cache. Lucky it can't be seen from the road... All was intact though so no sign of any trouble.... [^]
I got business out the way, mindful that the tradie could and likely would reappear any time. I tucked the container back in its lair and covered it up. Some leaf litter in all the right places ensured the container can't be seen on approach. That should keep it safe...
As I jumped back in the Gunniemobile and started the engine, the tradie appeared... Now that was good timing... I gave him a polite "You have no idea what I just got up to" wave as I pulled away...
Cheers Aussie Liahona. If only I could have taken a short cut back onto the highway from here..

Was walking to gz when came across two muggles set up for some intense graffiti - we'll have to come back another day
Another head scratcher. Several signs to put our back to. Lots of concrete. Then Ms M finally spotted something. Very obvious once GZ is found.

Found it .Lovley quite spot. Was a unique section of highway in past times with large figs shading the road.
Noo82 and I were on a road trip to our old home town in NSW. On the way, we made a few quick stops to find some caches. Noo82 directed me where to drive. We drove through the beautiful big trees that lined the street on the way to the cache and pulled up at the end of the road. We were looking for a little while, then Noo82 spotted the hint out the corner of her eye. I took One Cache TB and left a swap. TFTC. Cache was in good condition with plenty of swaps.
KateRX and I were on a quick trip back to our home town and thought it would be a good idea to do some caching along the way, this was our first stop.
As we turned into the street we were amazed at the beautiful trees and how green every thing was.
We soon got to the end of the road and hopped our of the car to find GZ. We struggled to find it as I was heading back to the car I spotted the clue and was unearthing the cache in seconds.
KateRX grabbed the travel bug.

Great section of old road been meaning to pop up this way for a while. Cache exposed but in good order a lil better hidden now tftc
Short drive from previous cache and we arrived adjacent GC..
Search took about 90 secs before a likely spot was seen
Cache soon uncovered & logs signed...

Found after a little searching.
I clearly remember this area when it was part of the highway.
Looks like the area has been used as camping site and cache location is the dumping ground for rubbish.

This is such a nice old road - thanks for bringing us down here. My non-caching Australian friend found this one.
I took the two travel bugs. Will help them continue their journeys.

Found it, had to be careful of local muggle who seemed a bit sus on us. Left Andy the hiker behind, he came down from the sunshine coast. Thank you for the bracelet
Quick find at end of Old Byron Bay road. Lots of traffic passing by on new highway
A rainy day in Byron Bay so we went for a drive and to nab some local caches. A nice quick find. Wish we had a garbage bag to clean up the mess here today. Maybe the next cacher might take one along and spruce up the mess and return the area to a state of niceness?
We've had a report that this spot is a bit strewn with rubbish. We hope to investigate this this weekend. Please be aware to take care if rubbish is about. We'll check it out.
Found a couple of weeks ago. Must ahve forgotton to log ot though. Took Chickcj82 there today so she could get it. Quick find for her after a nudge in the right direction. TFTC.
Found this one today but will let lcbails think he gave me a nudge in the right direction lol TFTC
Arrived with Ms Wig and was bemused by what might be on the other side of the tunnel... security cameras here!!??
Took a while to find the cache and noted evidence of others that frequent here.
I had a couple of TBs to drop off, and although nice big container, I fear the
TBs won't be safe here... so will put them in another cache.
Thanks AL.

Quick find in the dark after work. Popular spot for hooning it seems, but the cache is safe, it would have been driven over if on the roundabout. :O

Arrived yesterday on the way into Byron (yahoo!) to find a local doing laps on his ride-on-mower. So I picked up 'Silent Sentries' instead for my cache of the day.
Came back today without the fam to grab a few more caches. GPS was useless, so ended up expanding my search significantly until I found the required landmark. (not at all where
my search started). It wasn't easy as the clouds rolled in. Rain eventually cancelled the rest of this caching trip . TFTC. (darn... Left my stash of TBs behind... and of course this is one of Byron's only non-micro caches...so I'll have to return to make a few drops!)

Grabbed this one on the way back out of Byron on an impromptu overnighter. I rember driving along this road when you did have to go through here. Nice SL TFTC
We were being pointed up the tunnel by our gps so were very greatful for the clues. The mozzies were not so appreciated!
Cache safe and sound.

GPS was all over place today. Was pointing down the tunnel so worked out location from the clues. Took TB. TFTC
Thanks it was a great hide with good cryptic instructions. Nice to go off the highway to what was!
Nice little diversion from the monotony of the highway, left travelbug took nothing. TFTC
Massive bullant nest has moved in. Moved the cache slightly to the left to stop people getting bitten
Amazing trees along this road. Cache was in full view so we covered it up much better. We wondered what the crumbly white post was. Thanks A. L. For a nice diversion on our way home from Yamba.
A great little find after doing maintenance on Chip's nearby cache. We then headed into the Byron Markets before turning our heads for the long drive home.
Cheers

Silent Sentries is my cache and since I had to do some maintenance, it was perfect to be able to grab a cache in the area also.
Cheers.

Nice hide The ants have moved in near by and we're not very happy with me. Signed log.
Called in to cache to do a check. Wow has this place become overgrown with all the rain. Hint doesn't apply coz you can't see the sign. Lol. If where you drive in is six o'clock on a clock then cache is at one o'clock. Happy caching!!
Found it at 2.05pm (NSW time)
Lovely drive through the trees, was a great side trip right off the highway on our way home from Coffs to QLD.
Left Worry Dolls Travel Bug, hope they find a new Geocacher to continue their journey soon.
Took Tigersden DNF Micro GeoCoin. The paper with it says it was due home june 2010, so we'll do what we can to help it on its way!!
Also saw a beautiful big wanderer butterfly

Tried searching for this cache after dark. This proved more difficult than expected and after finding numerous spiders in our hair, we decided to retire. The ominous 'warning security camera' sign was a little off putting. Maybe next time.
