Needed a good blow out so decided to tackle the Wharauroa. This was first of the day and a quick find. Log was sopping wet unfortunately.
unusual cache
While tramping on Pirongia form O'shea road up to Wharauroa then across to Mahaukura
down an old track and up to Tihitoetoe. While on the helipad at Mahaukura spotted another
group behind on Wharauroa.Heard them later in the day maybe they were heading to the hut.
Had a short show of rain at about 1pm didn't last long the day was mostly fine and warm.

Great little hiding spot. As we approached on our way back down a car pulled away - not sure if they were muggles or cachers.
What a lonely wee cache.
No view today, but happy with our walk and 5 more caches found.

It was a toss up between getting some caches around cambridge or tackling one of the tracks we haven't done up Pirongia. We knew it was highly likely it was going to rain so we packed the rain coats and off we went.
Found as we got back to the car after heading up the track. Nice easy find for the last cache of the day. Great container too!

Quick find, but no, that's someone's spare key! Let's follow the cords. Ahh! Now we have it! Fancy being muggled way up here, but she probably knows about it as we think she lives here.
Last year while family was at the FieldDays I went caching to the top of Mt Pirongia. This year I did a big day over in the Kaimais, but was collecting the mt biking caches near by and it seemed a good idea to come and get this park and grap. Lovely views out over the Waikato but Pirongia had her hat well and truely pulled down today.
tftc - nice container that gets a tick

An easy drive up cache, watched by hundreds of woolly eyes, but the rural postie was focussed on her task, so no problem here.
Always enjoy this area, especially when we stop for lunch at the Persimmion

Nice easy find. Neat view was rewarding after a hard ride up on the single speed!
Made it here with Novalightning after going to the Summit to complete the "Waikato Mountain Challenge", TFTC
A very cold wind so I'll be glad to get into the bush!
Went from the hint not the GPS and found another container with a key in it. Back to the GPS and soon had correct container.

Nice twilight find - was lovely looking at Pirongia light up as the sun set! Have been coming to this glorious spot for 20yrs now to enjoy the view - thanks for giving me a cache to do too!
Coordinates changed from:
S 37° 59.137 E 175° 09.306
Coordinates changed to:
S 37° 59.132 E 175° 09.315
Distance from original: 52.9 feet or 16.1 meters.
Changing coordinates and and cache container as mother nature had almost consumed the original placement.
Have updated hint and description to suit
Sorry for the DNF it was not meant to be hard to find.

After failing to find it last year without a GPS, I though I'd try this year with my new GPS. Still no luck whatsoever... Considering it hasn't been found since the middle of last year, might be an idea for owner to check if it's still there?
Couldn't find it. Though while searching, I did find a hidden container with the key to the gate...! Will have to look again sometime.
Nice quick and easy find. Cache is in its correct location and is in good condition. SL TFTC
Had a good poke around the area that I think the clue implied, but no luck.
A beautiful view from up here and a road I haven't travelled before. Quite keen to head back up here for a good look around!

# 304. Saturday morning cricket trip out of town, so another opportunity to do a few caches in the same direction. Lovely day for it, great views.
Fairly easy find with excellent coordinates.

Excellent views out over the Waikato this morning. another spot we have not visited before. We had the bikes on the back so Zorgon junior decided to cycle back down the hill.
