What a stunning view! Thankyou for bringing me to this spot. Sadly i couldnt find the cache today. I suspect its been muggled because i found a likely spot with scattered rocks but no container. But i could just be blinded by the sun maybe. My travelling companions enjoyed the view anyway.
Found this one at the beginning of a day climbing up Mt. Pirongia and caching all the way! Unfortunately it was very misty so our views were obscured but we had a great view on the way out. TFTC
On 20 February 2011 we "Stopped here for coffee on our way back from Kawhia/Aotea" . We did the same again today.
Went for a walk in the nearby Walter Scott reserve so grabbed this cache, nice sunny day with great views. Cache was water logged, did our best to dry it off but may need some attention. [8]
Wonderful quiet spot to take time out and enjoy the views. Opa obviously liked this area too and his family have left a lovely memorial for all to enjoy.
No luck with this one today. It looks as though there has been a pretty thorough cleanup around the fenceline and bench so it is possible that things were removed; also possible that my geosenses were not active!
Picking up a few of the caches in the area in lieu of a trip up mt pirongia.
A bit of over growth here today but found regardless.
Cheers

On a night mission with 11hpg11, Greenblat and KiwiLean up on Pirongia’s muddy tracks. Before parking the car we stopped for a quick P&G. TFTC
Found on the way to the Hihikiwi track for a night walk up to the hut. Found with Greenblat (and Greenblat jnr), alpenmilch80 and Kiwileon. We signed the logs as Team Bach.
A nice quick find here and some great sunset views of Kakepuku to boot. Thanks for the cache!

Found on our way to the Hihikiwi track for a night tramp.
Still daylight during the find but the views were a bit cloudy.

Came down to do a recce for a tramping club trip next month so grabbed caches along the way. Great views from here to Mts Ruapehu, Ngaruahoe and Tongariro (and a decent covering of snow on all three). TFTC
2149 Back today for the view and the cache. I was mislead by the hint. Not where I expected it to be. After sitting enjoying my lunch I starting looking around the area. While checking the area I was on my knees by the plaque when a muggle cyclist rode by. Glad I was not in the correct area. After sitting back down and finishing my drink I had a final look and had success. Glad to turn the blue to yellow.
Banian and I found this cache on our autumn northern roadtrip- where we did a circuit of the north island from Wellington right up to Raglan, then across to Napier through Taupo, before heading home, finding masses of caches and discovering a plethora of unique and interesting locations.
Over a year since the last find, so another interesting cache- the previous one, Great Scott, also had a large interval since the last find. TFTC

Found with Redants on our April Holidays Road Trip. Day one, Wellington to Onaero. Day two Onaero to Kawhia via coast road. Day three around Kawhia and today heading to Taupo.
Its been a while since the last find but the cache is still there.

Came today to no views and no cache. Was sure I was looking in the right places. Indentation in the ground lead me to believe this . Bugger.
The weather had the area a bit of a haze so a return would be good to take the views TFTC
Despite the haze and increasing cloud cover we got a good view. A nice spot to reflect on things past. tftc

I had thought that this cache might be a bit far off our route to go looking for, but found that it is actually quite close to the Great Scott!! cache so we went to find it. Upon seeing the view we were pleased that we did. The bull in the paddock was not thrilled by our presence, but the cache was a quick find so he didn't have to put up with us for long. From here we decided that we might as well continue on the back road, which was pleasant and we had the experience of assisting to drive some cattle down the road for some distance. Thanks for the cache.

Another wonderful view on a beautiful day. TFTC Next cacher could do with a pencil sharpener
New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 11, Te Kuiti to Waingaro. I know rest areas are for resting, but it is annoying when a car comes just as you do and all they are doing is smoking and making phone calls. Oh well, she left and I wrapped up the cache. Thanks.

Took a little bit of searching to find. Brain wasn't working and made a hash of the clue. Once I re-read the clue about 5 times I worked out where to look and found the cache.
Nice and easy, found after doing the Walter Scott Bush Walk. Very hazy views today but still worth the stop! TFTC!
Good views today. I know that there are some caches over yonder volcano cone, but they'll have to wait for another day. Strange little spot for a picnic. I would not have noticed it if not for the cache. Windy up here. Whining wind turbine spinning madly. All in good condition at GZ. Cheers for the cache.
Watched a beautiful sunrise here this morning on my way to a walk up that other hill. Was thinking it would be a quick grab here but the view was so stunning, just had to sit for a while. Thanks for making me stop. TFTC
2.05pm - Quick find on a very clear day with a very cold wind, great views. SLTFTC
Quick find while working my way through a series of tracks and reserves not vistied before, TFTC
Driving up the road and seeing the view and a parking area. Then some vehicals from the other direction.
Headed up the road a little more and turned around and came back. Was amazed by the view from GZ.
After a little looking around, reverted to trusting the GPS and found shortly after. TFTC

Always an awesome spot here - I've been visiting it for years for 'quiet time', had no idea a cache was here too! I see Zorgon wondered why there was a picnic table here. Well, the table and memorial were set up by the former owners of the farm across the road, in memory of their late father/grandfather - I used to be the milkman delivering to the late father/grandfather before he died, and in an odd coincidence, my house was previously owned by the best man at his wedding...gotta love small-town New Zealand lol! There used to be beautiful shrubs fenced off all around the picnic table, but after the former owner (a Commonwealth Games cycling silver medalist!) sold and moved 10 yrs ago, the fences sadly got taken down and cows destroyed the plants. It's still a beautiful and restful spot though, and one of my favoutite places in the Waikato! TFTC!
We arrived in the area only because we had incorrectly logged our destination coordinates into the GPS. Well it would be rude not to visit when we were this close. Quick find with the help of the clue and great views today T4TC.
Nice drive up the mountain though the view wasn't too good. Rain and mist obscuring the view.
Thanks to mrs crazyhorsesgang we took the scenic route around kakepuka first he he... Awesome view at GZ. Well worth the trip TFTC
The Freezer Mice strike again!!!
Quick stop by here on the way back to pick up the second car (after a trip up the Hihikiwi to the Hut and down via Cochran Road).
Very wet, very windy, and very dark (so no view tonight).
TNLN, TFTC.

A nice little drive-by on the way to Hihikiwi. Upon removing the cover, I was astounded by the number of slaters crawling all over the cache. I've never seen so many in one place in my life! Only wish I'd brought a spare container to scoop them up to take home for the pet frogs. Cache still in good shape though!

Chose a perfect morning for these Pirongia road trips. .Enjoyed a drink-stop up here while admiring the view. Beautiful spot for a memorial.
Lots of sticky wet tar on the road up the hill on this really hot day. TFTC.

At first glance it seems strange to find a picnic table here but such great views so it probably gets well used.
Many thanks
