#2638. We were wondering whether we might have to return at a quieter time. However, a gap in the muggle flow presented itself, and I soon spotted the hiding place. TFTC.
On a fine Sunday morning, this was a very popular place. I was the lookout while StreetWalker did the dirty work.

Very tricky to get to. We knew where it was but had to attempt this three times in one day so that we could go searching. Got there in the end. TFTC!!
A quick find after a meal at a nearby restaurant while staying in Napier for the night. Signed log, TFTC!
A little bit of a challenge to day .. 1st visit there was a family camped here having late lunch, 2nd visit a couple of girls sorting their cellphones, 3rd time lucky. Thanks
Nice views of the snow today, got a little bit distracted by the hint but eventually found it.
Found it with AngelnDemon, quick as find, lady playing with phone on bench next to us but we made her go away !! T.F.T.C
We did this one without the GPS, we know the area pretty well. There was a young lady sitting very near by, but she was engrossed with her cellphone. TNSL left a plastic spider and a little girly bracelet. Its great to see this area improving aesthetically over time. There used to be just a gravel carpark that was infamous for late-night romantic interludes. ohhhh remembering the 'olden' days Hahaha TFTC kiwiowl
Easy find thanks. Very good co-ords for the GC (on my Garmin anyway). Left behind TB for someone to take on next stage of its journey.
The words of the song came back to me thank goodness.Fond it in the dark so not too difficult
I'm very glad it was dark while searching for this - would have looked highly suspicious during the day in this busy location. TFTC #2228

Actually, it's not unavailable. It's there where it has been for a year or so and is still being found. I really wanted to move the co-ords (and for good reason) but I'm not allowed to do this.
I'll be making a new cache page for this one when I get the motivation to do this. However, what will happen to those who have already found and logged this in it's current position, but then have a 'new' cache to find in the same place??
Would be so much easier to change the co-ords, hence my lack of motivation to create a new page. Maybe one night I'll get bored and do something?

Not sure why this ones still listed as unavailable, as it was a fairly quick & easy find. Did it at night, with no muggles around. Left a pet rock- a grey whale. TFTC
Probably should have read the description more carefully before setting out, but I thought the new location would be nearer the old one than it is. However, if I had done that, we wouldn't have enjoyed the bike ride out to the airport along the waterfront! Once at the new hide, there was hardly a muggle to be seen in the vicinity (although plenty on the water including a passing kayak) and Mrs Cartertonic found it after a fairly quick search with good signal strength. Left VOC geocoin since the owner wants it to visit as many ports as possible on its travels back to The Netherlands.

As the cache is no longer at the published coordinates it needs to be disabled until updated or archived.

Hmmm...went early to retrieve this one and got a scratched arm, rip in my shirt and filthy clothes for my efforts. Cache was clearly visible at GZ but almost impossible to retrieve - was unable to replace correctly as it fliiped when I was trying to put it back (simply don't know how this can be replaced) so cache is still well hidden but probably easier to get for the next finder. I'd suggest this one can only be retrieved under the cover of darkness as it is simply impossible to get this one using stealth in daylight hours.
Went here early evening and had a good idea where this could be but due to muggles could not have a decent look. Will try another time
Tried briefly while on a cycle trail with a number of others so didn't linger too long not wanting to hold them up.
Although we went to the correct coordinates, and realised where we needed to look, we could not find the cache immediately, and after regular interruptions from passers by, many walking their dogs, we decided to leave it for now.
Arrived in the nearby car park ready to commence search, to discover the local council were doing a sterling job in cleaning the area. In addition, a couple were enjoying the view and were almost on top of the GZ. Decided today wasn't the day for this one and went off to our appointment. One to do next time I'm back in Napier. Thanks for bring us to the nice vantage point.
Finally! ... Ive been looking for this one a couple of times ...
and on finding it, i now know why using the kids (short arms) to try and scavange about to find it, was never going to work

Planned a number of caches en route back to the Waikato. Had lunch on the waterfront then headed off for this one. No luck at co-ords then downloaded clue (no help) then downloaded recent logs(all was clear then!, and then viewed cache desciption which would have been useful!!..... not wanting to back track to almost where we lunched gave up and continued the journey.
It would be much appreciated if this was re published as a new cache to avoid the issue we and others have had (or maybe request admin fix the co-ords for you).
Had a great weekend in the area and picked up a few other caches before and after this one anyway! TFTC

Standing on the spot but motorhome parked up and watching, will have to come back
Lucky i have a cleaver gps but i still went to the air port area first before reading the rest. Moved our location and started our search. Found after a little while and Anne used the ive dropped my ear ring to fend off the muggles. Thanks for the cache TNLNSL
@Jumpedin2it It's all good, still there and waiting to be found. The logs explain the story, re extra bark added etc. I tried to change details for the new co-ords but the administrators would not fix it up due to the move being over a certain distance. Unfortunately I could not move it a lesser distance without getting my feet very, very wet !! BTW, If you really need to, Google the first part of the hint and it makes perfect sense - it is after all, just a hint not a 'give away'! Noobie cachers have found it in it's current location!

Nice hide in new location. However, this needs to be updated via the reviewers with new co-ords. TFTC
We are on a caching holiday from Australia and dropped by this cache. This one had us confused as it was not even near to the airport and was in a very high muggle area. We did get to see some penguins swim past which made it worthwhile, but really think the owner needs to update the co-ordinates and check it is still there and maybe the hint needs updating too as it didn’t make any sense.
Finally struck lucky. GPS was not helping, pointing to the middle so it was a guessing game for us. Definitely more than a 1 difficulty rating with some dubious behaviour in an extremely public situation. We could only search at night to avoid being seen by the wide audience up in the box seats.
Probably time to get the co-ords changed officially so that other geocachers know where it is, not everyone reads the cache notes, contact the Reviewer to do it. There is no Jeep travelbug so you need to mark it as missing to remove it from cache page..

Spent a lot of time on this one. Very nice area, but I could not locate the cache.
Upped the difficulty rating due to what could be described as excessive amounts of bark being added by the local council. Where there once was a 75mm gap, there is very little gap at all. I think the bark will settle and finders can perhaps be safe in allowing the gap to develop again.
Yep, all is good at S 39° 28.705 E 176° 53.747 even noobie cachers have found it.
However, it looks like the council have put some more ornamental bark down around GZ which may make the find a little more difficult. I'm not sure if a few wood chippings can add to the difficulty rating so get looking!

Wow muggle central !! Tried yesterday but absolutely no chance. Back again early today and after a long patient wait success at last.

Good to go, thanks to Slippers, Smasher, Jaggers and BrenFM for their help with the replacement.
New coordinates are S 39° 28.705 E 176° 53.747
I've not managed to update the new coordinates officially as they are technecally too far away from the original placement. However, I'll be contacting a GC guru with my reasons for the placement and to see if something can be done.

Mac attack found it with MorganEd and baz who were first to find. With us a close second
Fair BUMP.
The cache is ready to go but the weather has been shocking. I've 'prepared' the new location and the container, but not managed to gel the two together. High muggle area and after last time I'm not going to let this be found too easily.

Will be making significant changes to this over the weekend. If all goes well, it will be ready to go again possibly before the weekend.
Hoping to reinstate by end of June. Will be relocated some distance away but within line of sight.
Disappointed that we missed this one. Very public area, perhaps more suitable for a film canister or similar. By the way, the Clive Square cache suffered lots of muggle attacks, a group used to hang out there and they always knew it was there!
I can't believe this could have gone so soon. Hopefully the last 'finder' will read my little green card and return it - or get in touch. I'll leave it a couple of weeks to see if they feel guilty. If not, I'll set something else up nearby. In placing this one I considered the one in Clive Square, similar type of hide and muggle potential which has done so well. The more I thinkk about it, the more I think it very strange its gone so soon.
sorry to say think it may have been muggled
great idea
shame it didnt work out
bugga about the TB's now lost

Looked in every nook and cranny around the big rock which was bang on GZ but no luck. Given the cache size and the previous logs we should have bagged this on the trot but it was not to be!! Hope its still there. Will watch progress
Whoo Hoo another FTF.
Was passing and just couldn't resist to drop in and take a look.
Very handy place for a TB hotel.
We will make use of this cache in the future for sure.
