Back on the mainland, after nearly 3 months in Tassie. So nice to have avoided all the excessively hot weather.Staying nearby before heading to the east coast. Enjoyed wandering around town and grabbing info for this one. I made it harder than it should have been but eventually came up with most of the info needed to get some likely co-ords. An easy enough find at GZ.Thanks Jimmymaff for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Thanks for the Cache Jimmemaff, in town for a 95th birthday, camped at the RV camp, a bit of excitement when the police were called because someone was running their generator at 6:30 am!After a false start and an interesting walk on perhaps private property, I got the correct coordinates and the prize.Regards from Victourer
After doing some homework at home, today while caching in Maffra we were able to finalise our numbers to find the final with spot on coordinates. A great little tour of the town.
Thanks Jimmymaff for the puzzle placement.

The TKB's were in Maffra today on a caching expedition, as we parked the various Geo mobiles in town this cache became first on our list to atempt..their was a miss guided guess on Ruby's ring but then everything else fell into line. A little homework had been done by the other two members so it wasn't long before we were at waypoint 2...where I had a quick run down on what Beet actually was..onto way point 3 ...our eyesight failed exponentially here, good thing our phones have zoom.. I was tempted to ring the bell but restrained myself....(and have just gone down many rabbit holes in relation to what ringing the bell means...their are quite a few interesting explanations go see Google for yourself) so the calculations were left to me..i say my coffee needed another 30 minutes to kick in as I miss wrote a number and had GZ at 100km away LOL.. 2nd attempt looked alot more promising so off we walked...brief search at GZ cache located and signed. TFTF
Over obligatory coffee, the TKB's made plans to go searching around Maffra on the first day of daylight savings. We were blessed with stunning weather!
We started with this one, but soon worked out we hadn't waypoint 1 right but soon all was good. A lovely walk around town and we collected the cache quickly.
TFTC Jimmymaff - for placing and maintaining your caches and taking me to spots where I can escape from it all and enjoy a work and a bit of a brain work out.

After organizing a geocaching day out with Tiz13 and kbucky around maffra we first had to fuel ourselves up with coffee and other goodies from the rosedale bakery, eventually we got here to start working on this cache and after the coffee had kicked in we started our journey walking around town collecting the info then to finally arrive at the GZ where the cache was quickly spotted we all added our signatures and replaced...TFTC Jimmymaff
Suscoe decided to head out to the Maffra area today.
Another delightful late Autumn day with some sunshine, but a cool breeze to keep us company.
What beautiful countryside and we enjoyed our travels.
Thanks to Jimmymaff for this puzzle. All good here today.

Day 5 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip and a big day it is with my 6000th cache milestone, coinciding with the completion of the mammoth Victorian Premiers Challenge. Some LGA caching is thrown in also as we head back towards Melbourne.
Initially we were on the wrong track with two locations but soon found a newer version of one, and something else that was found. Bingo! A plausible GZ and a quick find when there.
Thanks Jimmymaff for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

The work year has finished, so it’s time to head off on another road trip - to explore ‘The Pointy End’.
DAY FIVE: Traralgon, Morwell, Heyfield.
Had to use a bit of brain power, some observation skills and a little intuition to solve this one. Got there in the end. Not bad at all
A fav point from me.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Jimmymaff

The weather was looking good , with restrictions lifted in regional Vic We could now do outdoor activities with others so I teamed up with My local caching Friends Ski Pair to head out to East Gippsland and do some caches, armed with My mask and Sanitizer, We had a great day exploring the region, this is one of the caches We found today. Pays to double check the numbers, we got it sorted in the end and soon had the cache in hand.

We have had our daughter, her husband and their two kids staying with us during the COVID lockdown so that we could look after the kids whilst they were in lockdown. They have just left as school goes back in Melbourne, so we are taking advantage of our new freedom and set out to find a few geo caches. Our stats for 2020 are looking pretty woeful, and very different from what we had planned! At least the weather gods are on our side today. These been extensive wind and rain over the past few days and there are minor flood warnings out for a few of the local rivers. Today is bright and sunny, and we’ve worn our waterproof shoes! Caching today with Rebel Acts-it’s so nice that we can share outside activities like this since the easing of COVID restriction in regional Victoria.
We are also collecting the Seven Wonders of the World icons, have completed the first seven And are well on our way to finishing the second lot.
We had completely messed our first lot of calculations on this one, and ended up on private property. A review of our maths took us to the right place, which we realised fitted in with the cache name. It didn’t take long there before we were signing the log.

Time to go home today after our weekend away. We had thought there was going to be a Farmers Market in Stratford this morning but we couldn't find it so after doing the Art Trail cache there we headed home to Melbourne via Maffra - this cache was next on our list. We found we had actually parked right next to one of the bits of info and we were soon able to locate another but the other one presented a couple of problems. Finally it was located but then info gleaned from the wrong spot unknowingly. We set off to our calculated GZ which looked possible but once we got nearby we couldn't access it across farmland so back to the drawing board. We knew 2 answers were definitely right so we checked the 3rd again and came up with a possible answer but no, that was wrong too as the calculations didn't work ... what are we doing wrong ??? Finally GMelb spotted the needed bit of info and it all made sense. After a short drive to GZ the cache was spotted by JMelb. Our last cache here before heading off towards home

It's great that the issue/s with this cache has been fixed - a big thank you from the geocaching community; but it is still in the Disabled state and seekers are not aware that the cache is again available.
You need to post an "Enable" log - see here; [**Disable and enable a geocache**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) so that seekers know the cache is again available - **I have done it for you this time.**
Please remember that failure to keep the cache page up to date (as well as maintain the physical cache) can result in the cache being de-listed.
Found by Sharon14. Detoured through Maffra after a day caching with gwd.aussie and Sharon14 having noted the slight alteration to the formula. Good to finally able to claim the find.

I found this today after communicating with the CO, and quite a bit of information gathering/calculating. I believe the formula to calculate the coords is incorrect and will pass on the info to CO.
Thanks for hiding it jimmymaff.
Thanks for hiding it jimmymaff.
Found the location but not the cache.... too many muggles... may return on a weekend or after hours
Quick walk around town revealed the information and then a quick find was made. TFTC.
Found with O319 on our Easter school holidays road trip. TFTC! Required info was easily gathered. At GZ we initially approached from one direction but couldn't find it. Drove around the other side but realised it would hard to search there so returned back. Further looking and it was found.
Hmmmmm yes there has been a big clean up. Will put on hold till I can locate a replacement GZ
Hey Jimmy, just drove past GZ for this one and they have had the backhoe in there clearing up. The cache will be in the pile of debris now! Not sure if you will be able resurrect this one.
I can safely say that this was the most exultant I've been all day! This one has been on the hit list for aaaaages and thankfully mummy short legs found it not long ago after our joint failure a while back, and she was able to point me in the right direction. So I dived into the gz full of hope, spotted the correct landmarks and bingo!! How did we not see that the first time round? ?? TFTC jimmymaff
After finding GVC, a previous nemesis cache, I was feeling good about my caching mojo and moved on to this previous DNF. I returned to a very hard to reach tree to have a look, but got creeped out by the long, wet grass so I returned to the metal pile at the back. Then I moved over to a metal pole hidden by a tree.....discounted the growing pile of tyres....stood around looking silly.....spotted something unusual and clambered over there.....FINALLY!!!!!! This cache has annoyed me for as long as GVC so I'm feeling REALLY good about myself right now. Woopee!!! TFTC Jimmymaff, no thanks for the frustration though.
With Solving4X. Lovely stroll about town. Fun finding out about Ruby's Ring...ask a local (the older the better!). TFTC!
Took a while to find ruby`s ring just ask a local. Great cache nice town. Tftc 30 November 2015
We made hard work of this today, getting two pieces of our information wrong. However we eventually got it right and made the find. A nice multi, thanks Jimmymaff.
A bit of research found me Ruby's Ring. Armed with this knowledge returned today and got the correct co-ordinates.
The GZ, well that was an adventure. Finally found the cache but there was frustration and lots of metal to look at/under/in.

Wasn't to sure about Ruby's Ring so not sure we got the final co-ordinates correct. First time we did the maths we got a spot in residential area which didnt seem a likely spot.

GizaGal and I were doing fine until the final clue.
The date was hard to read.
We set off to our calculated GZ with some rubbery digits.
We searched ... there was the same junk mentioned by Kyabbott.
We used alternative digits (2nd guess) for the digits that were hard to read ... it still took us to the same area ... in the middle of the grass near the junk ...
After searching for about 30 minutes we gave up ...
We'll try bringing binoculars to verify the final digits and return to fight again.

On my last drive out of Maffra, I took note of what can't be BEET and had a fairly good idea of the red truck collection however wasn't hugely familiar with Ms Ruby - luckily Kato Potato and I stumbled across to it with our hard-earned coffees! Score!! We performed the calculations and headed to gz....not what we expected but there was a station and lots of metal......and filth, urine-smell, old tyres, garbage, epic amounts of pine leaves and was unpleasant to search in. We recalculated, came up with the same answers and searched some more without success. Thanks anyway Jimmymaff.
Well kyabbott and I hung out with Ruby, closely examined Quasimodo's item of interest and didn't beet around the bush grabbing the other necessary numbers but we were not very convinced when we arrived at the supposed gz. We diligently searched the area anyway, checked back over other logs and thought that maybe we were in the right area so searched more and had absolutely zero luck. Sadly this was the disappointing end to our caching afternoon. We'll have to try again next time. Thanks anyway jimmymaff
Started this one of in our favourite cafe in maffra, cafe L'Attitude. Highly recommend, good food and friendly staff. So with a full stomach we headed off to grab the necessary information we needed to lead us to the find. tftc.
This one took a bit of searching but got there in the end! Think I'm hooked on this game!
Enjoyed this multi clue cache, thanks JimmyMaf, took bracelet added $1000 poker chip!! :-0, go big spender!
Out caching with gwd.aussie today and with his help was lucky enough to find this cachewhich takes you about town a bit TFTC
I tried to find this cache about a year ago.
I have been to all the way points again (on another weekend, a month or two back)
Just didn't have time to search GZ again.
So I come back with comback on Sunday
I was in the correct place. If it could bite, it would of biten me.
I was that near to the cache a year ago.
Thank you for the cache Jimmymaff

Seriously? I swear I have looked there the numerous other times I have been hunting for this cache! Took my GPS this time as my phone swung around a bit on previous visits. A confirmation email from jimmymaff assured me I was in the right area. It still took.15 mins to find it though with the help of OR nursie79.Girl power- power to us!

Finally got around to finding this one. Did all the WP's some time ago and finally got to look for GZ today, mind you it was starting to get dark but we were reasonable sure we were in the right place so eventually it was found. Noticed it hasn't been found for awhile so we are feeling pleased with ourselves. TNLN TFTC, another Jimmymaf cache crossed off
figured the first part of this cach out a while ago but have never got round to following it up until now
Tried to find this cache today.
found all the waypoints (the correct ones i think) and done the maths
only to arrive at GZ and could not find it.
I notice the ground had been moved (by a bobcat), tree limbs removed and surveyors peg in the ground.
I hope it is not just me at the wrong location.
I will be back sometime.

Popped over to Maffra today with smac24 and decided to do a bit of caching while we were there. Had heaps of fun gathering the required info. smac doesn't usually come along for the multi's but she was really enjoying it, and did some great detective work. Went to where our math was telling us GZ was, spotted a possible structure but no entry point to it. Hmm okay.. lets check the logs. A few hints had been dropped re the final location, so we went around there, hoping that the clue may just help us hone in on GZ. Walked around for quite a while but no joy.
Headed off to do another Jimmymaff cache, and decided to check in with him via email to see where we went wrong with the coords. Jimmymaff very kindly offered to meet us at GZ in 5 mins and give us some clues. Turns out we had somehow thought waaaay too far out of the box, and got Ruby's Ring confused with another 'ring' of sorts which also had a plaque attached. So armed with the correct coordinates we soon had the cache in hand under the watchful eye of the CO.
Thanks so much Jimmymaff for coming down and showing us the error of our ways. I really appreciated it especially as smac24 was really getting into this one and having fun. She absolutely loved Maffra and enjoyed getting to know the town. Took english coin, left bracelet. SL Cheers!

Yay - found it today after a information finding mission around Maffra. Loved the drive and sightseeing. Discovered several places that I'd not heard about before. Thanks Jimmy for setting up this cache that has shown me a little of the history of Maffra. It's a pity that the old railway station isn't being looked after - it's a truely lovely relic of the rail era of the area.
I had, had a looked for the information for clue's 2 & 3 the last time I was in Maffra. Clue 1 had me thinking for a bit, (well quite a while actually) every time I drove through Maffra I would think "what/where is Rosie’s Ring"?
Today I thought I would have a look there, but it was not the place! Then I thought what about here? I did get some numbers, so I did the sums and it seemed plausible.
So I headed off and arrived at GZ.
GPSr took me straight to it (but I had a quick look and moved on) went here, then there, scared a Sulpha Crested Cockatoo, He scared me just as much.... Ended up back at the first spot and had a better look and there it was.
OH YEAH...... By the way there is lots of METAL!!!
I had signed log dated as 30/5/12

This one became a two day affair between running kids around. A great tour of some local sights led to the final location and subsequent find. Thanks Jimmymaff for the adventure.
Found by Mary & David at 0835. A touch of Sherlock Holmes as we tracked down the clues. A little prior research meant we had identified all three locations and only had to gather the numbers. Loved the whole process and the history it highlighted. Picked up "Astérix le gaulois" TB. Our thanks to Jimmymaff.
In the end this one was an easy find. I had collected the clues about 12 months ago but could not get the maths correct. I was back in town today and recalculated the maths and got it right.

Wow what a cache....
This one really had us guessing....
We could work out the last two questions fairly easy. The first was the killer.
Mrs Madstars came up with the solution by asking a very local LOCAL....
The lady she asked knew all about it.... Word of warning for future cachers... do not bother looking for cafe's..... lol You will save yourself about two hours....hahaha
Anyway thank you jimmymaff for the great cache.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to think you know a town and you just need to open your eyes as you drive around. Good cache, just slow down and check the sights out of this great town. Happy Mothers Day.

Now that weren't too hard to figure out

Another seemed to be nearby but wasn't
And another had something familiar sounding about it after finding another cache out of towne this morning.
The big sign post nearby helped too [^]

More strolling and I finally strolled no more, I had the cache

Quick check up as a bit of clean up work has been going on at GZ. Alls well. Grabbed a TB coz I wanted to know what is was.
Took a while to work through.... would have been so much easier if we were local. We checked all the shops displaying the record of who the previous owners were, looking for Ruby's Ring, to find nothing. Apparently they weren't part of the cache challenge after all. Left a fair bit of boot leather as we pounded the hot pavements of both sides of the main street. 'Twas luck and exhaustion that eventually steered us in the right direction, as we realised we were staring at the answer. From there it was much easier.
Took ball and marbles so that we could fit in opener Dog Tag 8

This one sounded like an interesting challenge so we made our way into Maffra to try our hand at it. Unfortunately over confidence and under looking had us at what we thought was Ruby's Ring but soon found we were wrong and had to start the search again. It didn't take too long and we were in the right place and had the required information. Beet didn't have us beat for too long and off to the red truck farm for the last bit of required info. We calculated gz and headed off to where the GPSr led us directly to the cache location. This was the first in our series of stations today.
