As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. When to check out the cache and found that the "Bat Cache" has flown away. Need to make another and replace it asap. Thanks.
Just wandering if you could check GZ as I'm sure what I saw was a plate missing food
Found where we were 99% sure the cache would be but think it was quite possibly muggled
Kids were fascinated by the bats. It would be very noisy when they all fly off. They were just starting to wake and chatter while we were there. Very appropriate hide. TFTC.
it was a mild to coolish night, and although it was a still and quiet sort of a walk we were swarmed by mozzies and flies
found it at 10.43pm.
took - geonickel (left by jinkyandjohn)
left - ninja monkey
TFTC alot of fun working this one out, love the cache container

Jinky was fascinated with these new arrivals - she'd never seen their "hang out!" Decoded the GZ coords, and off we went. This is a sensational hide! Imaginative, creative, definitely appropriate! We replaced the ziplock, which was definitely on the way out. TN Left geonickel. SL TFTC!
23 of thirty finds for the day and the eighth multi cache on our try-and-find-as-many-multi-caches during our G-Town visit.
I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see any bats here, I didn't smell them either - maybe my nose was blocked?
The cache was found with little trouble, however I found the style a little strange, maybe appropriate? What is it supposed to be? Just a holster?
Thanks Snakecatcher for the batty information.

Wow, amazing, kids loved this one. Thanks for the hide, just as many mossies as bats today!
I went in the late afternoon but unfortunately they werent awake yet... Instead I started getting a "The Birds" feeling from spending too long watching them all hanging there silently.
The hide is interesting too... not what I expected.

We enjoyed collecting the information about the residents here and even managed to learn a bit on the way. We sorted out the co -ords and then went for a pleasant stroll to gz on a great day even though the ground was still soggy in places.
The container was found quickly and we really enjoyed the work that had gone into the camo
Thanks Snakecatcher for the cache

Found with the grand kiddies, lovely walk 12yr old loved the math 2 year old loved the space to run.
Found 16/8/2010 by fwarewolf with smearas.Left smiley face but lost mobile phone in search.ah well.
Enjoyed this short walk from Conference Centre where I am staying. A pleasant find and the bats were really ineresting. Take some alcohol wipes to clean your hands after.
Enjoyed this cache and finding out where the bats hang out in Eastern Gardens and the interesting information that was available on the signs. Thanks Sankecatcher for another excellent cache.
I really liked the cache container here, even if it did cover me in pine sap! I was interested to read the information and gather the clues as bats are a fascinating and often maligned little mammal. Once at GZ it didn't take me long to spot the cache and I really liked the work that went into it. Upon returning to my car I made a deal with the nearby coffee van that I would purchase a morning cappuccino if they would give me some soap to clean my hands. I think it was a win-win!
Many thanks,

I just had to do this cache as I was nearby as it was getting dark and the bats where becoming active. I parked right near one of the signs then had to find the others which just showed up in the torch light. With the required info I headed to GZ and found the great camo quickly, just had to be careful of the hairy eight legged gaurdian of the cache that came out for a look.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Wow we love all those bats, kids thought they were great. Great info too.TFTC SL
Found today at 1115. I am glad there was no way you could have us count the number of bats. It would take a week there are that many of them. I loved the final hide, great effort.

4th find of the day, and 2398th total find at 13:15.
A very interesting and informative multi. We gathered the clues easily enough, the difficulty was retrieving the cache from its very sticky location.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks Snakecatcher for the cache

Found the clues for this yesterday, found GZ today. Very nice hide! TN L AMF token, Poker Chip. TFTC! Camo needs maintenance, have emailed owner...
Bats every where near sun set and they were just hangin , interesting info on them and then off to " the bat gz " thanks Snakecatcher
Found at 2pm. Who knew, bats in Eastern Park? It just shows you how much we don't know about our own backyard! Interesting cache and a great hide at GZ. Agree with maccamob, hands needed a good clean.........gloves would be a good idea.
Found by Mary & David at 1600. We were back in Geelong so Mary could redeem a gift voucher. Gathered the information and headed over to GZ. It was in a familiar area, with other caches in the vicinity that we've done over the years. Could still hear the chatter of the flying foxes off in the distance. Just loved the camo, but our hands needed a good clean afterwards. Take some hand cleaner with you. Our thanks to Snakecatcher.
good hide ,snakecatcher.
found it aftervisiting yesterday then checking up on website re bot.gardens and bats date.
went back today and found after short walk.

Fun muti-cache to find, great views. kids loved watching the Bats in the trees. The location of the cache was a bit "sticky" . However to our suprise we found a Travel Bug Dog Tag. thank-you Rojoempa. XX
Found 1.30pm
Managed to find a parking spot close by and walked over to the necessary signs. With the screeches of the bats overhead we read the boards and gathered the necessary information. Off to find the cache and as the numbers came down we could see a likely object that it was pointing at, a quick look found an unusual item which upon more of a search uncovered the cache. There were no spiders today but the tree had tried it's best to protect the cache my covering it in tree sap, and very stickey it was too. With goo all over my fingers it was down to the GLW to sign the log.

2010-02-13 16:12 We got to WP 1 and spied all the bats in the trees. We read the signs and gathered all the required numbers. We entered the final WP into the GPSr and wandered off. Got to the final GZ and fought off the huntsman spiders that were guarding the cache. I was surprised the bat had not eaten them. I then found myself in a sticky situation while retrieving the cache encountered more spiders but they retreated quickly. I opened the cache and signed the book before returning it to the protected and sticky area from where it came.

Found easily with Indiana08 tonight and admired the busy colony. It was dusk, and they were just getting ready for take-off. NOW we know where to find lots of them ... Thanks Snakecatcher for this awesome show and beautiful final hide! It was guarded by an 8-legged hunter who decided to run up the tree when he noticed we were not giving in.

I thought I knew this area well but had no ideal there was a bat colony here. Excellent, well done! TFTC
Arrived to the sounds of bats making those strangling noises that they're renowned for. What a racket! Even in the morning, they were especially active. Worked out the coords and left the finding till a bit later on, when in the area. Very good hide, had us laughing all the way back to the car! Lots of effort has gone into this one! TFTC.
Found the cache today at 1.00pm with beanie who worked out the maths

This was the third cache of 37 for the day, in the company of Alansee on our tour of the Bellarine. We read the boards and gathered the information, I even learnt something on bats at this cache, I liked the final hiding method. My thanks to Snakecatcher for the cache.
Found on a lovely sunny day caching with Acts2YouthGroup. I live near the Melbourne colony and regularly see hundreds of them flying low over my house, so was keen to do this one. Got the info ok and then a short walk to a well-prepared hide. Thanks Snakecatcher for the cache.
I was a bit early for this one, it wasn't quite dusk, but the was a lot of chattering going on.
Apart from the chattering across the road, the park was empty today, not a muggle in sight.
Read the signs, collected the require information, and walked off to GZ. Cute hide!
Good to see a bat colony here, I miss seeing them in Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne.
Thanks, Robmc.

Dropped down to pick up the cammo as it must have been a little to green. Took it home this morning and fixed it so it will not come apart any more. Thanks PacketStorm4 for letting me know. All is good and back in place.
Attempted this one last night, but being a friday night, there were too many hoons about and it was too dangerous to attempt.
Returned today under the thousands of watchful eyes.
Answerd the required questions and we were about to head off
Met up with Vicfire (junior) and had a chat for quite a while.
Found GZ easily, took care in retrieving and replacing cache.
Seems that in the heat the glue has slid down a little bit and the magnets have slipped off.
It is still out of harms way with the supplied camo.
TFTC!

YEA YEA My 60th FTF with the vicfire team today and seventh this year. After reading the Snakecatchers log on my new cache last night I knew that something may pop up today and was ready to print and GPS was attached to the computer ready to go. Well it popped up at 12.27 and we had signed the log at 13.05. How's that.
About to rush out the door when a frantic call from young vicfire could he get a lift as his mum was off to work. Pulled on the boots a quick detour to pick him up and then we caught every red light on the way.
Gathered all the required info and then the maths, parked the geomobile legally and then a short stroll across the park to find a very well cameoed hide that took us longer to replace than it did to retrieve. Please look closely before you remove the cache so that you can return it as was. I knew that the bats had returned but did not know where they had set up camp.
I am not a great lover of bats but Jay has done a great job in setting up this multi and the images are great. All in all another well thought cache that we have come to expect from the Snake Catcher.
Well Shane Thompson & Geewok will return from the Jamboree today and have lots of caches to find as what happened to me over Christmas. NI-NO TFTC.
