I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note
Hi NZTIKES
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

I took only a short 2 Minute search for this one because it was on my way anyway. Wasn't surprised that I didn't find it after all the dnf's.
Decent search but no luck. It could still be here but it’s hard to see with all the hedge trimmings and rubbish.
Poked around for quite a bit but we couldn’t find it. Lovely park though, well worth a visit regardless.
4 pairs of eyes scanned the area for some time with no luck. Perhaps this needs checking.
We took the time this day to explore Kaikoura by bike and through geocaching. First we took the road by the seaside to the north. We passed lots of nice locations and there were also lots of geocaches. Or at least they were supposed to be there, but in fact half the time we searched a cache without finding it. That was a bit disappointing during the first half. We had at least five DNF’s. Going back we took the SH1. The first cache there was gone again, but the rest was found. Apart from the DNF’s, we had a very nice time during this bike ride. Loved especially the track near the sea. During the whole day 19 caches were found in Kaikoura, but this was not one of them. Searched here two times, also together with other cachers, but no luck. A very good hide, if it is still there.
5 Minutes Bus stop is not enough time for this ^^`
I met another cacher and asked my favourite question "did u lose sumthin'?"
Well I wish I had have more time to search but no
Anyway thanks for bringing me here

Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored. .
I had already been here to Kaikoura once - in Winter 2014/2015 - before the big earthquake.
It is absolutely obvious, how the bay and the shore have changed since this unexpected and surely not welcome 'nature-force-event' .
Anyway - the day (#20) with splendid, sunny weather was dedicated to strolling around the still more than beautiful Kaikoura-bay by foot (15km ) and by car, picking up quite a few treasures that seamed the path - just like this one:
A nice little box placed in a lovely park [^].
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cache and best regards from Germany!

Thank you for showing this Nice little park, the whalebones and Lets not forget. Greetings from the Netherlands
Good find, at first it seems like the Clue is hopeless, but it's actually not that difficult. A lot of the whale bones are artificial. Very cood cache thanks, Great
Find with Celyn18 on 04.27.2018 during our travel in New Zealand, a beautiful country. Tftc
this one has eluded me in the past visits. However located almost straight away today. TFTC
Found on 24/01/2019.
I was up at the top of the South Island competing in the South Island Orienteering Champs. This gave me some time to grab some caches on the way there and back. It was great fun to explore a new part of the coutntry.

Easy to find, I saw this far away. I'll try to locate it littlebit better - will be hard because of mugglers laying around in the sun.
Well back in Denmark again after my fourth visit to New Zealand. Luckily I also had time to go geocaching down under, and now it is time to long all my finds.
Cache found and logbook signed.

Easy find, once you just look rather than following the clue. I think it may have been moved from the original spot.
Passing by at 1230 today we found this one on the bench nearest to GZ. moved it lower (behind the bench) and put a stone on top. I see it was found 3 times today so no worries
Tough find this afternoon with eltee291, crman1 and coastalmartinis! Took us a good ten minutes to finally spot it! Blends in well, needed to spot it from just the right angle. Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada. Thanks for the cache, NZTIKES!!
Couldn’t find the cache ... had a good search but just could not locate it today.
Easiest cache ever to find - it was in the hands of the previous cachers who were still signing the log:) TFTC
Came back and a couple of fellow geo caches gave us a clue. Chuffed to find it!!
A lot of people walking by.. circled the area and had a bit of a look, but couldn't see it. Hopefully we can come back for a better look, but it wasn't there as far as we could see.
Second time round to try and find this one. Jude_E and I had no luck today either.
As we walked around the town we came to this small park and walked through the unusual archway before finding the cache.
Found it in torrential rain, took me a few minutes while the turtle waited in the warmth of our car. TFTC
TFTC....In Kaikoura to see the whales of course, and then caching in this great city. Visiting from Sask. Canada
After watching TV1 Sunday's piece on the Kaikoura recovery, we made an impulse decision to visit from Nth Canterbury. We had such a great weekend.
After a near two year break from caching, I decided to re-subscribe so the kids & I could have some fun. Best decision!
We cycled out to the seal colony caching there & back. We had perfect weather. We took our time enjoying the scenery, the hazy snow sprinkled ranges, the gorgeous wild flowers everywhere.
We found several caches on our weekend hence this copied log.

Kaikoura is one of the most beautiful places of this trip um south island and really deserves a visit.
The view with the beach and mountains with snow, the forest and wild life, make this place unique.
After this cache we went to a beach quickly bath

On a road trip south and after a good crossing spent the night in Kaikoura. Managed to do a couple of caches before getting in the road again. Glad we stopped at this beautiful spot TFTC
This one took us a little while, but in the end, Pratchettfan got the right perspective and found the cache.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache!

We came to Kaikoura to escape the torrential rain that was going to hit the west coast and were rewarded with a warm sunny afternoon.
After strolling through the West End we continued our walk to this interesting monument. After circling the object for a bit, I spotted something in a previous log. So I checked GPS again and looked at eye level and indeed found the Cache very close to the published coordinates.
Thanks for this Cache!

We did not see a whale by the Whale Watching Tour.
Thanks for the cache, so we could see some bones.
Sorry for the late log. I had problems with the Wi-Fi the last days.

A little more obvious than expected as hedge has been trimmed and it appears cache put back pretty much in the open. Returned a little more hidden consistent with a recent log.
Thanks
Thanks
My crew come back on board to find this one, but not with much motivation. The capt hook found it. Visiting kiakoura for the day.
Beautiful out there today. Stopped in for the night on the way to Blenheim. So glad I did! TFTC!
Woo! Found it after I walked by it many times. The coordinates are correct. It's a bit higher than you expect.. around eye level. So don't look down! It has a yellow lid TFTC!!
Stopped in Kaikoura for lunch on our holiday trip from Christchurch to Blenheim - it was a fine afternoon but a bit cool due to the snow on the nearby mountains. Took a few photos and discovered that we were close to this cache so got the cache gear before heading the hundred meters along the beach.
A great little park where we stopped for lunch on our return trip to Christchurch. After lunch this was a quick find.

A day in Kaikoura for a rugby game for Mr Maikenkids means a day of "treasure hunting" for the rest of us. We've been meaning to get this one for ages but it's a popular spot, so this cold, drizzly and therefore quite winter's day was perfect to finally give it a go. After having lunch in a sheltered seat nearby we headed in to marvel at the size of the rib arches. We weren't having much luck following the hint but luckily Master 7 was on his game and made the find. Tftc.
On our way north we stopped over here in kaikoura, beautiful place and my first cache in NZ so far, TFTC!
Driving south from welly after picking up a camper. First time seeing the changes down the coast after the earthquakes. Took a while to find but we did just as w were about to give up!

Interesting alley. I would hate to be under neath when one of the Norfolk Island pine cones fell. They look vicious. Thanks for the placement
Nicely tucked away. It took me a while, going backwards and forwards... the GPS was going crazy! TFTC
