While I don't want to prevent anyone from publishing a cache near here by keeping this one open for a huge length of time, I'm still considering my options on this one. The mural is now surrounded by a cyclone fence but still clearly visible.
I might archive the cache if there is a move to obscure or remove the mural but will post my intentions as required.
If anyone wants the area opened up to a placement, please PM me and I'll 'discuss'.

Quick find but i think this cache hide time is up after reading comments in pad and the sick ,rude drawings i found and was happy to remove.... If the Sick person is waiting to check this log in site,,you need help and pre school kids can draw better than you!!! Co needs to watch this cache as its being targeted...
Hmmm, unsavoury entries in the logbook (thanks for removing them AWegs), an area at GZ that increasingly resembles a rubbish tip , and a hide MO, if not the actual coordinates, which has changed since I originally placed the cache over 4 years ago is all adding up to the need for a bit of a rethink.
If worst comes to worst, I might have to let this one go and open the area up to someone with a bit more creativity to bring people to the mural.
I'd really rather not put a nano out but maybe that's an option.
Watch this space.

I walked up from Alphington station so I had the opportunity to see another mural on a similar building that could be termed as such.. Or possibly as advertising.
GZ is a mural, but not to everyone's taste!

Yes it IS a mural. Love the train. Pity about the junk piled up in front of it. What a beautifully camouflaged cache. Here Easter Monday with no-one around which made for an easy find. TFTC
Found the cache easily and quite an interesting mural. Certainly brightens up an industrial area.
Find 3 today with nanton34 after visiting the geostuff store. We viewed the "mural" then noticed where the cache could be placed soon after. It was well disguised - tftc
My last find on this short run. pulling into the carpark I was worried the cache would be hidden near two other parked cars however once the phone settled we soon wereoff in the right direction. Cache was found in good condition and nicely camouflaged TFTC
Another trip to Melbourne (seems to be a regular event these days) and yet another chance to chase a few caches.
Yes, it is a mural, of sorts. I don't have any problem with "street art" provided it is done with permission and isn't offensive. I think it adds a lot to the colour of our environment. One day I'll have the time to check our some of the laneways in the CBD and watch some of the artists at work.
Thank you for the cache EuDes.

After attending an event nearby, I decided to grab a cache or two on the way home.
This was a quick park and grab of a nicely concealed container.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

After the Geostuff opening I noticed this cache not very far away, so a small detour got me to within striking distance.
A quick search located the craftily hidden cache. Coincidentally I'd been chatting to the CO not 40 minutes earlier.
A very nicely hidden cache near some ..interesting ... artwork.
Thanks for placing this cache EuDes

I was walking from the station to iamapom's event, when I noticed that this one was on my way. As I approached GZ I notices that something was slightly out of place, upon further inspection it was the cache. TFTC
On the way to a local event and found myself parked in front of this location.

Camo could do with fine tuning. Spotted it easily, but then when I checked the log, someone has already been here today so may be they didn't conceal as well as they could have. Deserted spot on a Saturday! Thanks for hide! Nice meeting up with u at an earlier cache site!!
It would be nice if someone was to take the time to clean up this area.

Heading to Melbourne in the company of skullracing for a spot of caching and to attend an event. We stopped by this one as our first of the day. When graffiti is done properly it looks fantastic - some people are very creative indeed. Thanks for the fun 'EuDes'!
Glad to make the find. A great camo container. The mural was well done BUT the rubbish in the area was outrageous. It is a real dumping ground and a huge shame. Thanks for the cache EuDes and thanks for getting it up and running again.
Thanks for the cache. Cool cache. Great camo. An old car and lots of junk nearby. Good mural.
A tricky little camo for this cache -- well done. Disappointed to see so much rubbish just dumped around this area, anyway was good to find the cache. TFTH
#5305 We had headed down to Melbourne for the 2013 Vic Cache of the Year Awards event and were doing a spot of caching before the event commenced. As we pulled up at GZ we were commenting on how clever these mural/graffiti artists are. Unfortunately the area has been marred (as has many others) with illegal dumping. Aside from that, we loved the container - our thanks to EuDes for highlighting this and for the fun. Cheers [^]
Found this one before the event.
We can imagine what an amazing hide this could have been before some of the camo wore away. It left the final cache quite exposed and therefore it was found very quickly.
The rubbish in this area is absolutely disgusting. Although we are not graffiti fans it looks better when it doesn't have all sorts of junk around.
We just don't get why anyone would do this- well anyway.
We signed the log (first for the new book) and headed off.

While I'm not 100% happy with the hide or the general area anymore, the mural is still visible, albeit behind a pile of rubbish. [:(!]
I've put in a new logbook and reactivated the hide but might reassess the situation following the event on the weekend.
Enjoy.

Sunday morning is an excellent muggle free time to go here to admire the mural. Very clever, certainly better than many expensive art works in some galleries, but not certain about what they use as a 'canvas'. Quick find, but needs a new log which has degenerated into scrappy pieces of paper TFTC EuDes
Phone GPS not quite working to get me there but worked it out from the map. geo kids loved the train and the chairs
Liked this hide, geokid spotted it again in a not too hard spot, still needs new log book TFTC!
Found it lying out on the ground so put it back where it looked like it belonged. A neat little one! TFTC!
Found it, needs a new logbook as the current one is falling apart. Bring a pen. TFTC!
Stopped by during the day on the way back from the nearby Ivanhoe shops. Thankfully, it only took a few moments to find. Nice location for hiding a cache. Took me a minute to work out how you have such a long version of a cannister of that type. There is a definite need for a new logbook. Used a spare spot on a used page.
Just an observation... If you look at the top part of the West 'mural' wall where it joins the Northern wall, there appears to be a small surveillance camera looking over the car park.

I must say I don't mind the mural - it is certainly the thing of most interest in the area. After my phone's coordinates settled down I found the cache fairly quickly (especially after finding a similar hide earlier this week). Cute camo. I signed the log, which is a little worse for wear and, as others have mentioned, will need replacing soon. Thanks for the cache EuDes.

Streak: 31 Days
Well, the weekend is here again, time to head out with my geocaching running mate, sedgwickdave to find some caches and to attend the event for the final day of the 31 days of August challenge. Wow, what a fantastic day, despite it technically being winter still, spring has definitely sprung, with a beautiful 20+ degree day and not a cloud in the sky!!.
Yes, it is a Mural . This was a nice quick find, the final one before the event. A nice bit of camo surrounding the container. We managed to find a small spot in the log book to place our names, but it will need to be replaced.
Thanks to EuDes for the cache. TNLN

Out on a caching run today heading towards the "31st on the 31st" event with Ahomburg and on the way picked up a number of caches. Fantastic weather for caching today, not a cloud in the sky.
Nice drive by cache on the way to the event. Some good looking artwork near by too, I like it....

Mrs G and myself had spent the most part of the evening at out wedding photographer, Desiren, going through our wedding photos picking the photos for the album. On my way home it dawned on me that I didn't have today's cache yet. Hit the brakes on the GeoKorando sat on side of the road for a minute checking the geocaching app and I saw this one was only 450 metres away. So the decision was made and the GeoKorando was turned around. Parked close to the GZ there was a muggle parked close by, decision was made for a check of the GZ in darkness. So I walked to the GZ.. Quick look and bingo I had the cache in hand. The log was quickly signed and the cache was returned. Great hide thanks for the cache EuDes Cheers.
After an appointment with our wedding photographer (Desiren Photography in Northcote if you're looking for a FANTASTIC photographer!), we headed home and decided to grab a cache or two.
As it was once again a cold and rainy night, this one looked like a good little park and grab so we swung in in the GeoKorando right next to GZ. As there was a muggle close by parked in a car, the executive decision was made to look for the cache under the cover of darkness without torch so as to not attract attention.
Hubby found this in record time then jumped in the car so we could quickly sign the log and he then returned it with the stealth of a ninja.
Well done hubby. YOu're not only spunky but you're also awesome with a geocache!
Thanks a bunch for the hide EuDes.
Mrs Gilesy.

After finishing my jobs at 12.30pm and ending up in Ivanhoe I decided to grab some of the local caches as I don't get up this way much, the weather was good for a winters day so I found about 12 or so caches for the afternoon. Sl Thanks EuDes for the cache.
I'm a bit (!) late logging this cache and noticed that people are still complaining about the state of the logbook. The CO seems to be actively finding caches so I'm not sure what the problem is with simply replacing a logbook. [?]
Enough said on that and now to the find. After finding a nearby newie I thought I would have a squiz at this 'mural' and, of course, look for the cache. The spot-on co-ordinates led me quickly to the well-hidden cache. I retrieved the cache from its hiding spot and signed the log at 6:10pm. TNLN.
Just as I was going to put the logbook back in the container an almighty gust of wind blew several pages out of my hand. I therefore got some very useful exercise chasing and catching the pages - who needs to go to a gym? Fortunately I had just returned the cache to its hiding spot and was heading back to the car when the rain pelted down.
Thanks EuDes for the cleverly camo'd cache and for showing me this great example of graffiti art - the train is awesome. In my humble opinion, something like this is so much better than having to look at a boring and dirty brick wall!

A quick early morning cache run to fill in my calender day. Parked very close and with no muggles to worry about, made an instant find in the first place I looked.
I like the original graffiti. It's obviously had a lot of work put in by someone with talent. The extra random scribbles of additional tags on top really annoy me though.
Thanks EuDes for the cache.

Bit of a manky area - I wouldn't like to come here at night! Easy find in an obvious place.
Nice camo and an easy find for us (despite the distraction of the mural). Logbook is pretty well full now, maybe one or two pages left in there somewhere. TFTC

As is usually the case we were out for kids' activities, in this case geoson's little tackers game at nearby Pitcher's Park. After a successful match, walking back to the car, he pipes up 'Is there a cache near here?'. A few to choose from, this seemed likely and we found the mural. I suspect being this well executed that it might have been put there with permission, and this one does brighten up an otherwise dull industrial estate. Sunday morning so very quiet, and cache soon in hand. As others have said, log is a little tatty but we still found a page to sign. TFTC.
Found Monday morning at 11.40 am on a breezy day.
Clever hide and found one of the last few spots to sign.
Many thanks for the cache and very colourful mural.

Thanks for bring us to this piece of art that we would of not found if we were not looking for a cache. As the person who found the cache before me said the log book it not in the best state but otherwise a great cache. Thanks PIPPAESP
After nearly 3 weeks just realised that we had forgotten to log it. They say art is in the eye of the beholder so it could be all of those. We thought it was worth seeing. Enjoyed the cache - a neat hide. TFTC.
So amazed at this awesome graffiti I was so busy instagramming it almost drove off without logging the cache. TFTC and bringing me to this artwork!
As we were not far away, quion and I decided that this cache was close enough to make an attempt.
We found the artwork and enjoyed that, then had a laugh at the big pile of old mattresses before turning our attention to the hunt.
The cache was soon in hand but had to search for blank space to sign. Log book is full.
Thanks for the cache Eudes

It took a bit of searching, but we got there! The log book is full too. Thanks!
The geokids love trains and this one took us to a nice Hurstbridge bound graffiti train. Found a parking spot and quickly located the cache. Clever little hide. Still intact and in good condition.
An easy find for someone with a keen eye for caches. The mural is... well, I wouldn't call it "art", per se, but it's much much better than a wall full of tags. At least this one has a statement attached to it. Thanks for bringing me here!
Beautifully executed work of art with breathtaking detail... I love it. 2 blank pages left in the log which is falling to bits, so SL, replaced carefully, TFTC!
Found by Mary & David at 1510. As we parked we saw several people chatting near GZ. Too many muggles! Wait a minute! We recognised Phetlern in the group, and they had already found the cache. We've seen similar hides before, but we still loved the container and camo. A mural? Still seems like graffiti to us old timers. Our thanks to EuDes.

YES it is ART and YES it is a mural. We love this type of work, the detail and depth defined by a spray can is astounding.

Find #517
After a morning clay target shooting for my brothers bucks party this morning, where it was discovered that I can actually shoot reasonably well, I decided a few caches were in order on the way home.
The last cache I drove past that I chose to go for on my way home today. I had been in the general area countless times but never with an opportunity to stop off and get it.
Didn't check out the gps at all until well after I had checked out the mural. I don't know how they do it...
Realised a little later that this was a classic camo technique cache seen many times before, but I missed it first time. Thought it was in my hand only to find it was under where I looked first.
Thanks for the cache and the fun!

What, I hear you ask, is the best way to break up a drive between the eastern suburbs and central Victoria, withe two babies and muggle wife in a cramped car?
Well let me tell you.
The answer is always FIND A GEOCACHE. Always. Duh.
I'm sure I've seen this wonderful piece some time ago. Thanks for bringing me back here so I can have a better look.
The cache took me all of three seconds to find, but a nice piece of work. There is a hole in the bottom that may be a problem if there is a bit of rain, and the log book is nearly full.

Found after attending the nearby 12/12/12 event, where I chatted to the CO. Recognised the spot by its name from half a block away on my bike. I'd been travelling by map and when I turned on my GPSr, it pointed to GZ in an perfectly appropriate location. It was almost dark, but I put my hand on it quickly. Once the log was signed and returned, I was on my way to complete a terrific evening. Thanks again, EuDes!
Definitely not mindless vandalism, there has been quite a lot of thought and planning in that, just as there has been with this cache. Thanks EuDes.
Great piece of art, admired it many a time. Too bad it's a bit defaced.
Logbook almost full, fyi.
Cheers!

I liked the mural, more so the train to the north, which I am guessing from the description is not the work of ‘Wild Child Artists'. On a Saturday afternoon the area was deserted and it was a quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Found the cache actually on the floor opened near gz.
Either the birds or wildlife are into geocaching, or it had been smuggled.
Any signed the log book and replaced it in what I thought is the correct place.

Interesting mural, I liked it. Nice work on the camo although it could use a refresh. Thanks for the smiley.
Found pretty quickly. Cache camoflage is starting to come off in parts. Having said that, I looked at it three times before realising what I was looking at! Log book is starting to fill up and will need replacing soon. Otherwise, very nice, clever hide.
# 2001. Riding around the area with Robmc today and we visited this one along the way. A nicely camouflaged container although it looks like it could do with some extra. Log is very full, with only a page or so left. Didn't mind the large mural nearby. TFTC
This was find number four on a little after work caching run I had planned for Friday. I had quite a few on the list but unfortunately, at the cache I went to after this one I came a cropper and stuffed my ankle which resulted in spending Friday night at the local emergency department (oops...first good caching injury...). I fairly quick grab here as I had a pretty good idea on what I was looking for as soon as I pulled up near GZ. It is a cool 'mural' (if that is what it is...)!
Found this one today. It was a bit tricky as there was rubbish all around where the cache was located. I went round in circles and finally located the cache. Took log out and signed it and returned to cache container. Left nothing and took nothing. I reckon that though this may have started out as graffiti the owners or users of the store must like it for it to have stayed at this location for this long. I personally think that the depiction of the train is very appropriate both of Connex and of Metro (but don't get me started on that!). Anyway for me personally I like it and actually think it represents what is good between the street art (both legal and illegal) and what is classed as art.
Thanks for the cache EuDes.
Thanks for the cache EuDes.
It says they're artists so I guess it's art. Shame people who live and work in the area don't take a bit more pride in cleaning up the area. Thanks for the cache.
Showing some signs of wear, but given the surrounds I don't suspect this spot attracts too much attention. Thx for keeping the series going Keith
